Philadelphia suburbs 1967—Dylan Frazier smiles and surveys the Drexel Heights courts—humming with basketball-crazed, hormonal guys, jockeying for playing time—hoping the "courts commissioner," Jimmer, will give them the nod. Dylan played his way through the ranks and his heavily favored Monsignor Conner team is poised to win the elusive city championship. He can taste the Palestra, the pounding excitement of the Philly faithful—he wants this title, his boyhood dream since CYO days. With American Bandstand and Hy Lit music playing in the background, no cares in the world except playing ball and chasing girls, this should be the best time of his life.

It should...but Dylan's closest pals, Nut and Truck, having been acting strange. Truck, a gifted ball player and the driving force on his team, had become dangerously violent as of late. And Nut—a future Olympic wrestler and completely reliable guy—seemed to be distancing himself from everyone, troubled by a secret.

Insatiably curious and worried, Dylan gently wisecracks his friends into opening up. He's crushed to discover what his friends have been enduring and resolves to help fight their demons.

Mischief and risky adventures abound as the three friends find answers, and more importantly, the true meaning of friendship.

About the author

Born in Catonsville, Md- a suburb of Maryland. After that, his siblings claim he was raised by wolves. Showed an early proclivity toward mayhem. At age 3, he and his older buddy Dickie (31/2) wandered off, took a series of trolleys and buses to downtown Baltimore. That made Baltimore Sun headlines and spurred his wanderlust. On his first day of kindergarten, he got off the bus, retraced the (2) miles across busy streets and showed up at home. Said to bewildered mom, "Told ya I wasn't going to school." A miscreant was born...

A highly engaging book covering Dylan’s high school years. It was filled with heartbreaking situations and laugh out loud dialogue.

a fun compelling story.

I enjoyed following the story and interspersed humor. I wanted to find out it would end. A very enjoyable read.
