Rate this book
Daddy Bear (Part Two) from USA Today Bestselling author Edith Hawkes.

Together they are stronger. But this time their newly found love for each other will be tested to the max.

Theo, Abby, and the twins are forced to run from the threats that are getting ever so close. Unfortunately for them, the soldiers tasked with finding them are just too damn good at their jobs and it isn't long before Theo's past catches up with them all.

Will Abby regret her decision to leave everything she's ever known behind for a man she hardly knows and all the dangers that comes along with it? As well as picking up the heavy mantle of motherhood in the midst of all the chaos?

Can Abby and Theo survive their brutal separation, wrenched apart by the mysterious organization intent on doing harm? Will they come out stronger and better for it in the long run, or will their love fizzle out at the first sign of trouble?

Author's note: Contains a HEA and no cliffhanger. This is the concluding story to Part One.

Theo has explained the danger to Abby, the risks she will be taking, but even so she still wants to be with him and his little ones; she knew instinctively this is where she belonged. Theo felt guilt: he didn’t want to kill or harm anyone, but they have left him no choice. There is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect his newly formed family, so now the only logical option is to keep moving and to keep everyone he loves alive. Abby has a lot to learn about motherhood and having a mate, but she also wants Theo to trust her with his secrets and lean on her too; he has been strong for so long, but he didn’t have to be strong all the time. Even when they find a tracking device in the truck and destroy it, their pursuers are relentless, once again tracking them down and overpowering them. Waking up in a cage, Theo is distraught when he realises Abby and his cubs are missing. Theo meets Doug who gives him some sound advice and reveals the purpose of BridgeGate, a testing facility experimenting on shifters for the purposes of breeding a superior force. Doug also tells Theo about a shifter community at Scarfell, which could be a safe refuge for the future. Theo and Doug come up with a ruse to escape, systematically unlocking other cages as they go, noticing that they were being locked down and forced to go forward, and were then met by wolfs and the one person Theo didn’t want to see, the man who had taken Maddy from him. Theo and Doug meet their charge, while Abby, Toni and the twins make their escape as did the Leader. Picking up Abby’s scent, instead of relief on her face, Theo only saw dread. Regardless of Abby’s warning Theo knew he couldn’t run away and leave her again. Maddy had already sacrificed herself for the twins and him and he was not going to let another mate do the same. With Doug’s distraction, Theo finally has his vengeance; the bloodlust as well as those of revenge had been escalating ever since Maddy was brutually taken away from him and their children, but now he was finally able to let her go and say his final goodbyes. Now that his duty was done and justice claimed, Theo could move on without the heavy burden of guilt that had been weighing him down. Hopefully anyone else involved in BridgeGate would think twice about coming after them or other shifters ever again. Now a new life awaited them in Scarfell. This was a very interesting shifter story that was quite engaging and I enjoyed reading it. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

We pick up where we left off after Theo got rid of the two guys who came to try and take him and his family. When he comes back into to cabin he tells Abby that they have to go but Abby has to find some clothes even though she has made a point to get the twins dressed she has to make do until they can stop and buy something Theo finds the vehical that the the dead men were driving but neither he nor Abby realized that it was low jacked by the hunters until they had been on the road and after they had stopped and spent some time together they found the box and then went on to the Walmart in a little town but they were being followed and Abby didn't realize until to late that she was being followed around the store until she got to the cash register and she and Mimi couldn't run but then outside of the store she couldn't find the car but then she was running around cars with a teddy bear in her arms and a man in camo gear screaming at her. Theo pulls up and she hops in and they are running from the dark suv's following them. Theo decided they weren't running anymore but he has a wreck and the men that were in front and behind them shoot him with a hypo but he can still hear what is going on and Abby is screaming at the men to leave the babies alone and he gets up swinging and gets knocked out with a rifle to the head next he wakes up in a cage at the BridgeGate Facility a secret installation it looks bad for all of them. Great story line. I received a copy for an honest review.

Doesn't feel completed...

Just like part one, I liked the story, but feel that so much is missing. It's hard to explain what's missing without a few spoilerish questions...

I still liked Theo and Abby, but at different points, I wanted to smack 'em both. Doug was a nice addition to the story. It's easy to see that he and Toni could be a couple down the line although I'm not so sure i would have trusted her so easy. She did choose to work for BridgeGate after all.

How is the author's writing? Okay
Is there violence? Yes
Is there sexual content? Yes
How is the story narrated? Alternating persons

Abby and Theo are still on the run with the twins in this conclusion to the first part of the story. It takes place right where the first part ended.

The relationship between these two has moved very fast. They know they belong together but there are people out to capture them and use them for their own uses. Abby takes the role of mother very seriously. She made a commitment to protect them and she will do everything she can to keep them safe. Theo is very protective of them all and thankful that he has another chance at love.

This second part is very action oriented as they struggle to keep everyone safe and defeat their enemies. I would like to spend some more time with the family when the danger is less and they can focus on their love. The author is good at packing a lot into a short story.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Given to me for an honest review. This is a two part story. You will need to read Part 1 because Part 2 doesn't waste any time jumping into the action. So, if you read Shifters in the Spring, you most likely read Daddy Bear Part 1. Otherwise, Part 1 is available on Amazon and probably other sites, too. Theo has told Abby all of dangers she would face if she stayed with him and the babies. She doesn't think about it. She knows she belongs with them. Theo is really upset and is being very difficult, not like he was the day before. Abby refuses to go any further until he explains. What could be so bad? They both know men will continue to follow them.

Received this book for an honest review from the author.

Love part 2 of this story.

All I wanted to do is protect my family.....
It is getting harder to do but I will die trying...

Theo has to protect his family from an unnamed source but how long will he need to run? Abby has decided to leave her past in the past and embrace her future with Theo.
Danger surrounds them at every turn but they will protect their small family to the death.

The story will keep you waiting for the next step this family will take to protect itself. Giving this story a 4-star rating because of the premise but I wish the author would provide a little more detail of how Theo became hunted by this faction.

Abby and Theo are on the run with the twins, when they get caught by a group experimenting on shifters. The group is trying to create shifters, who they brainwash into super soldiers. Abby and Theo need to escape and find a safe place to live. I adored Theo. He was a strong character who loved his babies and Abby, but even though he had to kill to survive, he had a conscience, and felt remorse. Abby was a strong, smart mate for him. This book was the conclusion to their story.

Brilliant !
Part 2 - jumps right in and continues the drama and action, With the enemy closing in on them at a rapid pace, Theo and Abbey are forced to make a run for survival. Abbey hasn't had long to adjust but she feels she can trust Theo and knows he will do anything to protect his family.
Lots of unexpected twists as the story races on full force into a dramatic ending this one kept me on the edge of my seat with every chapter.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Danger, Adventure, and Romance!

Kidnapping and bears! Now that Abby knows Theo's secret, and accepts him and his shifter ways, they have to go on the run from the organization out to kidnap and destroy Theo and his baby twins. They will do anything to keep their family safe, but danger lurks around every corner. This is a fast paced and action filled romance with a wonderful ending. Theo and Abby are on the run from the people who are trying to capture Theo and his twins. Unfortunately, they are captured. When they manage to escape there is only one place they can go to be safe. Sexy and exciting read, Abby and Theo never give up and finally find a home. Fantastic book.

OK read

I read the first Daddy Bear book in a book bundle and was sad to find out it was two parts but I'm glad I got to finish the story. Both parts were good but I feel like it could have just been put into one book. It's like the author was rushed to complete a book so she race then what she had. I don't usually like mystery/suspense books but I enjoyed this story.

Great second book

This second book in the Daddy Bear series was full of sexual tension and suspenseful action. Theo and Abby come together and fight against the mysterious organization out to get them to stay together--as a family.

This is actually part two of a story that I started reading in the anthology Shifters In The Spring. This story was easy to read, and had a good plot. There were though too many missing pieces. It was almost as if this was part of a larger story. Like it is missing the entire beginning.

LOVED IT!!

Ms. Hawkes is a fairly new writer to me, but I'm loving all of her storytelling. I love the stories about paranormal shifters of any kind so I'm gonna have to put Ms. Hawkes storytelling near the top of the list.

I read part one in a set that I had picked up and had to find out more, to see if Abby and Theo got their happily ever after. I was not disappointed.
