Spanish cartoonist Joan Cornellà’s first book, the viciously funny Mox Nox, has struck such a nerve on social media that his Facebook page has garnered over one million fan followers, three-quarters of a million Instagram followers, and a quarter-million Twitter followers. Zonzo continues the tradition with 50 all-new strips of smiling psychopaths (human and anthropomorphic) and side-splitting, hand-painted, full-color farce.

حس می‌کنم داره از چشمام خون میاد

نمی‌دونم تا حالا توی اینستاگرام بخش‌هایی از این مجموعه رو دیدید یا نه. معمولاً بیشتر آدم‌ها چند تا از تمیزترهاش رو حتماً دیدن. اما دیدن همشون پشت هم کاملاً تو مغز آدم خنجر فرو می‌کنه. نمی‌دونی داری چی می‌بینی؟ بخندی؟ منزجر بشی؟ از خلاقیت هنرمند کیف کنی؟ از اینکه می‌خندی شرمنده بشی؟ زجر بکشی؟ همش با هم؟

خلاصه که عذابم داد اما نتونستم چشم بردارم. بعضی‌هاشون انقدر عمیقن که نمی‌دونی این همه عمق رو چطوری توی چنین مزخرفی جا داده. بعضی‌هاشون انقدر بی‌معنی و ابزورد هستند که نمی‌دونی یه نفر چطوری تونسته این همه «هیچی» رو تبدیل به تصویر بکنه

Zonzo is the second volume of Cornella’s comics work, after Mox Nox. Wordless, it strives on every page to offend and make you laugh in spite of yourself. Dark and absurd, there’s a stark contrast between the bright neon colors and the bloody violence, a page and six panels to every story/joke he tells. His twisted sense of humor just keeps twisting anew in almost surreal ways. I liked it pretty well, I get the point of his pushing the envelope, though for me he sometimes crosses the line. I bet many of you alt-comix fans will love this.

Equal parts upsetting and hilarious. Definitely not for the feint (or faint) of heart. If you love Ivan Brunetti, you'll enjoy these wordless and weird comics. If you hate Ivan Brunetti, steer clear of this. Personally, I found it so bizarre that it was compelling.

Absolutely disturbing. Highly do not recommend, unless you like disturbing. Then highly recommend.

The color is incredible. The takes - debatable. Horror is correct don’t let the colour schemes fool you.

This is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars for me. There was so much absurdity and offensive humor in this - sometimes it was funny and sometimes it wasn't (but I did enjoy it more than I would like to admit). There were also some strips that were confusing, which was most likely done on purpose. I didn't love this but I would recommend it to those who have or enjoy a sick sense of humor.

I have never seen more then one or two of these comics in one time, so it's big punch to read an entire collection in one go.

these are satricial, but they really make question the limit of how far you could accept dark humor and disturbing jokes. it's supposed to offend and almost always with a person with this apologatic awakward expression, like he know that you don't know what to do with yourself after reading them.

it's very colorful, which can deceive you the first time, and also very gory. very very gory.
it's unique in the dark humor genre. reminded me a bit with frank comics by jim woodring

and yes I gave it 4 stars because I am sick in the head, ... lol, ...

this depraved and twisted humor is so wrong and "politically incorrect" that it is often quite hilarious.

As an added bonus it is also kinda surreal at times.

And I can validate my Rating because though most all of the humor is shocking and wrong, it DOES lead one to questions (perhaps) like, "why did I find this twisted stuff so funny?"

This book is an irreverent and surreal dive into absurdity, fittingly packaged in comic book format. It's a quick read, although I found myself re-reading a lot of the comics a few times just to make sure I caught all the details. What I like most about Cornellà's style is his deft combination of black humor, solid illustration, and zero words. Does it still count as reading if you've technically only looked at comics the whole time? I'll let someone else be the judge of that... I definitely recommend this book for anyone who has a twisted sense of humor and an appreciation for quality art.

I haven't read anything this offensive since Ivan Brunetti's little HAW! collection or Johnny Ryan's Comic Book Holocaust. Cornella is a fantastic artist and some of these are really great, pure (and puerile) black humor. Most of them, however, are just messed up for the sake of messedupness and leave you feeling a bit rotten, which I suppose is the point, but why? I'm sure these comics are coming from a place of satire, tongue firmly in cheek, but they're so damn mean spirited it's hard for me to validate this stuff.

There are some really dark, humorous, and clever comics here. Some hit better than others, and most are provocative. They remind me of the stand-up comedy of Anthony Jeselnik, with disturbing yet funny punchlines.
