Sei Assassin #3

Contract: Primo

Rate this book
She’s scrappy. She’s sharp. She’s seven. And now she’s seeking answers.

In the third installment, Mui is intent on testing the skills she’s acquired from the Black Wolf. Having lived her entire life in seclusion, she is eager to leave the mountain and explore the outside world. Compounding her solitude are the Wolf’s efforts to keep her hidden from her mother, Sei. But his luck may be running out.

While searching for her daughter, Sei realizes there is still one person alive who can help. It won’t be an easy mission—this person has no reason to tell her what he knows. In fact, he’s behind the borders of a country that wants to see her dead. How much longer can the Wolf keep Sei away? How much longer before Mui discovers the truth?

Pick up the riveting third book in the Sei thriller series. It’s unputdownable.

I finished this book a week ago. I was so thoroughly disgusted that I immediately removed it from my Kindle library along with the first two books of the trilogy and deleted them. I was angry because I was just going to buy the first book initially due to an intriguing premise. Sei is a retired assassin. She retired because she got pregnant, deciding to give up the uncertain life of an infiltration specialist / killer-for-hire for motherhood. She was told that her baby did not survive. The doctor lied. She was drawn back into the life of espionage with the promise of information about her baby. I was offered the trilogy, for the same price as the first book, so I figured that the reason the books were sold as a trilogy is because they were all a part of one continuous story arc. That is not the case. There are at least another three books where Sei is still looking for her daughter. I'm done. I feel that if it was going to be a six-book series, the writer or publisher needed to say something about the same bull$#!+ tease leading a reader on throughout. Sorry, Ty Hutchinson, your little sales gimmick done pissed me off. Clearly, the week I took to cool off did not work. How do you think it's OK to NOT resolve an important storyline? It is the whole reason why I bought the trilogy. An assassin mother trying to find the daughter she never knew she had. You take three books to string me along without resolution! No, thanks. I'm done! No more Ty Hutchinson books for me.

3.5 stars....well at least 6 years have passed...I was despairing that each book would be one year and that the series would never end. That said, I thought this would be the end, and it's not. Seriously how much longer can this be dragged out? The action is decent again but the coincidences....geez talk about suspend belief! How is it that both the Wolf and Sei come to the same conclusion at the same time and are on a collision course to get to perhaps the last link between them? In 6 years neither have thought about that link, and suddenly they both do at the exact same time. Crazy. It seems like the last door has been closed, and then suddenly, it's wide open again. I don't know if I will read book 4 or not, because this series could go on forever.

A never ending serial? Who knows? After reading the first two books of Sei Assassin which had no ending I just assumed the third book would conclude Sei's quest but was wrong. There's nothing wrong with the writing, it's actually interesting, but I hadn't planned on an unending series of books to reach a conclusion.

The third "Sei the assassin" book in author Ty Hutchinson's killer for hire series, "Contract: Primo", is to date the best of the three books in this series. I didn't like the first book at all. The second book was somewhat better, and the third has improved from there. The protagonist is "Sei" a contract killer who also moonlights for the CIA. Sei is in perpetual search of her missing daughter. Daughter, "Mui" now seven was kidnapped by the infamous and very deadly "Black Wolf" at her birth. Sei uses her CIA assignments as a tool to extract information as to Black Wolf's whereabouts. Constantly searching for information on her missing daughter, Sei has a habit of going overboard when working within CIA guidelines. Taking a life whether or not CIA wants it sanctioned doesn't matter to Sei. Kostas Demos (Greek), is Sei's CIA handler. Although he doesn't really handle anything about her. By some lucky chance Kostas/ Sei discover disgraced prison warden Raskin Demir is in the same Turkish prison that Black Wolf escaped from years earlier. Meanwhile Black Wolf is still murdering anyone who was present at the time of Mui's birth. He's also eliminating anyone who knows what he looks like in real life. Raskin Demir has become the target of both Black Wolf and Sei. In a fairly colorful plot that has much better scripted action than the last Sei books, Sei's desperation is relentless. Also the characters in this Sei thriller were much better built to be lifelike. Some of the odd ball supporting characters are really out there. coming in at around 320 pages this one was far better than previous two. Giving, "Contract: Primo", three stars out of five stars possible. Although I could say it's more of a 3.25 star book. I'm leaving out why "Primo" is in the book's title. It comes about half way through book, and I'll leave that to the reader to agree with or not. Having read author Ty Hutchinson's far superior "Abby Kane" series, and his quirky "Darby Stansfield" series, I'm not sure why he's continuing along with Sei. The Sei books just pale in comparison. Do yourself a favor and find Hutchinson's Abby Kane series for some excellent high impact thrillers.

This is the 3rd in the series about Sei, who is an assassin. For the past three years now, she has been searching for her daughter. Her daughter was taken from her at birth. Sei thought for years that she had died, but when a person contacted her about doing a job, the payment was her daughter.

In this one, Sei will finally meet the Wolf and she will come in contact with her daughter, Mui.
But Mui has grown up with Wolf and she only knows him as her father. She has also grown up raised to be an assassin like her father. They have trained her in the killing tactics since she was two years old.

Now, she has met the woman, Sei, but her father tells her that she left her and gave her up as a baby and never wanted her. Wolf has convinced her that Sei is no good, and she should become their next target.

Love this books..Can't read them fast enough!

Loving these books, nice and easy to read, fun characters and well written. My only gripe is that is it in serious need of a proofreader. There are a lot of grammar mistakes and missing words. Even putting it through Pro Writing Aid or Grammarly would be useful. But the writing is good enough that I'll keep reading. Enjoying the story!

I actually read the first 2. I got this one for the 3rd for free. Great book again. Less action, more suspense, another cliffhanger. Great use of mood, again. 4 stars to raise the bar, really a 5 compared to the majority of what's out there.

Note: the human trafficking theme is presented lightly, and no gory assassination scenes here.
Happy reading.

Best in the series so far! It is set years later, Mui is 7 now. Sei has not given up hope of finding of her, but is stuck trying to find someone still alive who can help. Then she remembers the one person who could provide her with information - only getting to him will be a very difficult endeavour.

We get to know Mui in this book, and see how she has been living all this time.
This was a great read! Each book is better than the last.

Another great line to the SEI series.

Great story line with page turning sequences in the pursuit of Mui and the Wolf. Exciting action woven into continued intrigue of the search for clues to who has Mui and why.

Sei now works for the CIA??? Finding Mui for a short – She didn’t find her and lose her. She took a huge step closer to reuniting with her. I enjoyed this story and recommend the book.

Didn’t expect to finish it before the year ended but did enjoy it more than part two. I am glad this has been written into more books than one, to not rush the story

This is the 3rd in the Sei Assassin Series. I particularly dislike series because of the wait between books. This was no exception. Serious cliffhanger, here! But that is the only thing I dislike about the Sei Series. Mr. Hutchinson’s style continues to evolve and mature, and what used to be as much comedy as drama have now become masterfully suspenseful and impossible to not get hooked.

Sei is a confident, highly trained assassin on the biggest mission of her life: to locate Black Wolf and find her daughter. Despite her killer tendencies, Sei is a multifaceted character that draws sympathy in the search for the child that was stolen at birth. This latest book introduces us to a familiar character, Kostas, but perhaps with a different storyline shaping up around him. I will be interested to see where this leads.

This latest book also introduces us to the daughter, Mui, and the back story of her life of seclusion. Learning more about Mui gives the reader that much more incentive to see Sei and her daughter reunited. Everything is falling into place and the only thing to make this series better is the next book! (Which I am impatiently awaiting) I am a devoted fan and highly recommend any and all of Mr. Hutchinson’s books.

TheHunt for Mui Continues.

These are quick fun reads. Following Sei's search for her daughter has been exciting and entertaining. If telling a good story is the measure of success then Mr. Hutchinson always delivers.

This is the third book on the series - Contract

As like previous books, the pace was very good. Although felt that, this book was a little soft, in terms of showing about the skills of "Sei". Maybe because the book also had to introduce Mui.
