The page count is wrong, it's actually closer to 300 pages on the Internet Archive.

Your husband just died and people keep saying "oh he's a dreamer and had no real strength to him because he was too kind and caring about everything and everyone and you'll meet a real man" WITHIN THE DAY OF THE MAN'S DEATH FROM HER OWN FATHER. Wtf?

As such, the man she meets plays a joke with her about indians so she wouldn't stay at her husband's grave and weep over his loss? Then within a week, hands her a toddler and says congrats on being a mother?

I quit reading at that point, halfway through the book. Though I liked the writing and a few Indian characters were awesome, the rest of it was rage bait.

It sucked because I really did enjoy the writing and the story had potential, but I just can't. I don't know if this should be marked as spoilers? It was within the first quarter of the book. But just in case, I'll mark it as having spoilers.

I do also like the cover. It gives vague Bonanza vibes.
