* The Unwritten Series is the boxed set of Unwritten and Rewritten.*
Charlie Ashley, or Mr. Ashley as his clients know him, is a high-end male escort who gets paid thousands for whatever services his clients require. He’s lived the last ten years alone, not letting anyone in, enjoying his success and provocative lifestyle.
Allison Hayes has no idea the man she is falling in love with is a male escort. She connects with Charlie through their love of music, playing a taunting game asking herself if she loves him, hates him or if she is going to save him.
After meeting Allison, Charlie enters a world where everything he knows no longer makes sense, leaving him too scared to move forward, yet making it impossible to look back.

When it comes to love there is no written rules that one must abide by. The beauty of love and life is that it’s unwritten and it’s up to you to write and direct your own path. And for some, there are certain chapters in our life that one wishes could change and do-over again. And for some these chapters are fillers, just words, empty voids till that one moment. The major turning point. And in Lauren Runow’s Unwritten Series, Runow writes a story that captures the very essence of unexpected love. A love that was unwritten.
In duet series, Ms. Runow introduces readers to Charlie Ashley, a high-profiled male escort. Charlie also known as Mr. Ashley to his customers has been escorting for several years. It is all that he knows and it pays for his lifestyle. Charlie never thought he would ever fall in love especially in the line of work that he does that is until fate intervenes and he meets Allison Hayes. Meeting Allison sparked something inside Charlie. She was the game changer. As Allison and Charlie begin to get to know each other, how will she react to discover the man that she is beginning to fall in love with is a male escort?
Can you rewrite a love story? And in the second half of the book, Rewritten, Charlie and Allison have some major hurdles to overcome in their love story. With so many obstacles standing in their way, can their love survive? How far will you go for love?
The Unwritten Series is a perfect blend of angst, romance, and new beginnings. This is the first book that I have read from this author and it surely won’t be my last. Runow has intricately layered this book with passion, steam, drama, and second chances as she allures reads with her seductive prose.
Charlie Ashley is an escort, & he is very good at his job.
Charlie meets Allison Hayes - rekindled in a way by fate. Of course she has no clue what he does for a living and once she finds out a shit ton of drama goes down!
I did enjoy the music references & the cross fit was cute -yet sometimes a bit much.
Overall, the books came together in the end for me. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Unwritten
Charlie's a male escort thinking he has the best job in the world, he gets to f*ck for a living, what guy wouldn't want that? After 10 years he has very satiesfied clientes, a throving bussiness but no one to share it with. His love for music leaves him in a concert of an alternative band where he meets this beautiful girl; too stunned to approach her he missses his chance thinking he'll never see her again so he continues his job like nothing happened.
After a few days, they meet again and now he actually talks to her, bonding through their love of music. She's a sweet girl and he realizes like he hasn't let himself feel, everything's better with his clients, no feelings, Allison lets him feel but how could she agree to go out him knowing what he does for a living. But he can't let Allison go.
I kind of felt the scenes with Charlie's clients were a bit too much, I usually don't enjoy explicit sex scenes with anyone other than the heroine so that was uncomfortable for me and there were many scenes of this kind so I got mad at Charlie thinking he could pull this BS. At the end, there were reasons for these type of scenes but if it would've been less it would've been better for me.
I couldn't really connect with the charachters. I liked Charlie but like I said he was hot and cold and then Allison just forgave him everything, if he let her in the middle of the night after a great date, she'll just say "I'll wait here for you"... Um, NO. It was very Anaish of her, burying her head in the sand and then just outrageous when the truth came out... Girl, you should've asked!
There were many pages devoted to their crossfit workouts, for both of them... wich I found unncessary. As they say here, crossfit seems like a cult (I don't do it and the author obviously does because there were many pages explaining the WOD) so this was boring to me.. can't we just say something like "they spent the whole day at the gym" or "did a great workout"?
The ending was just WOW, WTH? So there's a huge cliffhanger that made me jump to the next book.
Rewritten
After the revelation, we see Charlie and Allison trying to make it work. Even though Allison has accepted Charlie after he changed his ways, the whole thing has big consequences. Could they do it together?
Again, Allison burying her head, everything would've been better if they just talked! She was like, I need time, NO you need to talk! Not just jump to each other to forget! And Charle was a bit of an as*hole for me in this one, seems like not caring enough for his .
Also, there were chapter with differents POVs, Allison's sister and Charlie's best friend for example. At least 5 chapters about their story... WHY? I've never read something like that... if there were stories about side charachters there were short, this one was not. It was almost as if the author run out of ideas and just decided to put it there to fill pages when we had a huge problem to solve! It was anoying.
There's a thing in common with the books I've read from this author: they all have great stories but the execution isn't the best. I think she wants to make something different but it doesn't work quite well for me. I liked this one just not too much.
Unwritten: What a gem this book was. It was refreshing to read such a well written 1st novel and with such an original plot. Lauren Runow's Unwritten is fantastic! Charlie Ashley - high paid male escort - lost his parents at young and found himself struggling to survive in the big city. We enter the story 10 years into his "career" and things start to change when he meet a Allison who seems perfect for him. Can a man in his occupation fall in love?
I truly loved this novel, even with a cliffhanger ending (I hate having to to wait for the next book). Lauren has developed her characters so much your invested in everything. You will even be invested in the sub characters too. It's not often I'm shocked with twists and turns but damn Lauren has done it. I finished this book in a day. I just couldn't put it down to the point I feel asleep last night clutching my kindle and started again this morning. If I could give this book more than 5 Stars I would I recommend it that much. Give it a shot I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Rewritten: Charlie has found the love of his life in Allison. Allison loves Charlie with all her heart. Now that fate brought them together is that enough with everything going on to keep them together? Or will life and past choices tear them apart?
How do you follow up an amazing 1st novel? You write an fantastic sequel! Lauren Runow's Rewritten is the follow up and conclusion to Unwritten released earlier this year. I loved Unwritten with it's twists and turns around every corner and Rewritten didn't disappoint! Rewritten picks up right where Unwritten left off and even though it's been months since I read Unwritten it feels like no time has passed. Strong sub characters enhance the plot with more twists and turns and surprises ahead. 5 Stars to Rewritten by Lauren Runow and if you haven't read Unwritten pick up both as you won't be disappointed at all!
*** Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Reads - ARC provided for a honest review ***
The book details Charlie with his clients sexually after he develops strong feelings for the heroine. Charlie talks about the strongest orgasm with one of clients. Initially he became an escort for money, but later for enjoyment. I enjoyed the beginning of the book. I had high hopes for it, but then I lost the connection. Charlie spent an entire week with one client in bed to move on from the heroine. Charlie enjoyed that week until he discovered the client was crazy.
The heroine was a rich girl, with rich girl problems. I feel everything came too easy for the heroine which made me unable to relate. No job, went to art school, got an internship because model sister had some connections. Everything handed to her on a silver platter. The only thing she did not get right away was Charlie’s commitment. *eye roll* Mommy was the madam of Charlie, her best escort. I love escort plot lines, but Charlie enjoyed his job too much even after meeting the heroine. I DNFed halfway through the book.

Charlie Ashley works as an escort. Sleeping with women is all Charlie knows and wants, No Girlfriends, No Relationships, No Hassles. That was ok until a chance meeting with Allison Hayes blows all his plans out of the water!! Allison makes him feel things he has never felt before. Can he give it all up for Allie? And How will Allie feel once she knows the truth?
At the start of book 1 I wasn't sure how I felt about Charlie, I wanted to hate him, then I wanted to slap him, but as the book went on and we learn more I started falling in love with him. I loved Allie but as book 2 continued I really wanted to give her a good shake and a pep talk and say look at what you have in front of you. We also got chapters in the POV's of Allie's sister Nicole, and Charlie's friend Paul, while I loved seeing more of these characters I think they took away a bit of Charlie's and Allie's story. However I would read their story as I loved how they bounced off each other.
Overall I enjoyed both books, They had passion, hot sex, sass, drama and crazy women!!!! It's a good book and worth a read.
This whole series was exciting, sexy and heart stopping! I loved Charlie and Allison's story and the family and friends that came along with them! I didn't want this series to end! Lots of nail-biting moments, lots of hot moments, lots of wonderful music to this epic love story! I loved this series SO much!!!!
Arc provided by author for honest review. Wow I was dying to Read this series for while when I got glipse of it in Lauren's other books so when she sent it to me I jumped right in. Unwritten : So I will admit there were times during this book that I was thinking man Charlie are you gonna screw up so bad. I fell that I soon as Allison cane in the picture and they started to see each other. Charlie should of quit that lifestyle but like Lauren said he's a man and men can be dumb at times and not think with the right head lol. But I also believe that most things happen for a reason I can't say everything but most. Rewritten : Allison I swear this girl has to have the biggest heart ever, to go though everything she has had too Ong the woman is a Saint. And she is saviour that will say. Charlie he truly is a real God man and once you read this you fall in love with him just as I had. I also have to say I loved of this series was centered around music, which Lauren is really into and suits her perfectly. And last I had no idea unwritten law was a real bad till I searched them on Spotify lol. This is one amazing series enjoyed it from start to finish. It also made me cry at scenes.
Well written, emotional in a lot of ways, twists and turns, suspense and so much more. They meet at a concert she is in musically. And then they see each other at a coffee shop. They like each other but he is a high paid whore with women. She doesn't know this but when she finds out things get really mixed up between them. He wants her but is confused on if he wants to give up his life style and she doesn't know if they can get past it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

4.75 'You are my world' Stars for Unwritten
THIS!! This book! The complex and intricately woven story line is EVERYTHING that I never expect to find in a debut novel. Lauren Runow has definitely knocked my socks off with this one. OMG! Completely blown away right now.
Going in I knew this was about a male escort. Obviously I was expecting some sexxxy hot times and there were plenty throughout the story. What I didn't expect was ALL.THE.FEELS and to get emotionally obliterated in the process. From being riddled with angst to having the panties swooned right off me, the highs, the lows and the OMFG WHAT THE...WHATs!?!?!?! Plot twist after plot twist. Somehow I managed to survive the suspense of it all, coming out somewhat unscathed. Ok, so I chewed my nails off. Suspense kills me!!!
Charles Ashley, aka Mr. Ashley is in the business of fucking. Aaaaand good lord can he fuck. He's a pro! For him it's easier than getting attached. Everyone has a reason for the way they are and he's no different. The past shapes the future. 'Yeah I have no one to share my life with but who needs that? Everyone dies eventually so why not just save the heartache.'
The smell of beer mixed with years of smoke and sweat is something that brings me back in time. Memories of my first few months in San Francisco normally haunt me but as I stand here all I can do is smile...music became my solace and gave me a sense of home when there was no place left to go.
Along comes Allison Hayes, she's a looker and catches Charlie's eye. SQUEEE!!! But nothing is ever as simple and easy as it should be. Hell, who am I kidding?! Love is rarely easy and simple... or straight forward. AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS WHOLE BOOK SO DELICIOUSLY SPELLBINDING! ...and unbearably angsty at times LOL
She's trying hard to fit in the punk scene, but her black Christian Louboutin red bottom heels are a dead giveaway....There's a dirty girl hidden under all that makeup and fancy dress.
Thank the book fairies above that the next book is available RIGHT NOW! I'm a twisted bundle of knots after THAT ending. I may be committing literary/readers suicide here but I need to dive into the next book NOW!

5 Stars Are NOT Enough For This Book!!!!!!! - Rewritten
TOP FAVORITE BOOK ALERT!! TOP FAVORITE BOOK ALERT!! I REPEAT TOP FAVORITE BOOK ALERT!!
The words of Paul perfectly sum up this one for me! So. Fucking. Good. My. God. and Oh. Fuck. Yes.
I may be late to the Unwritten/Rewritten party but I am soooo calling dibs on PAUL!!! He's mine!
Oh my every loving gaaaaaaaaawd!!!! What did I just devour, mere hours after finishing the first book!? I'm at a loss for words right now. I'm actually sitting here in tears!! This book! GAH!!! Nothing short of freaking perfection. Awe, sheer awe. I'm not even sure I've begun to digest what I've just read.
Whereas the first book was overwhelmingly abundant with angst and suspense, Rewritten picks right up where Unwritten left off and all that comes to mind right now is LOVE! Lots and lots of love. I'm having a gd lovefest with a book and it's characters at 4:13am. Raw, heartfelt adoration. I'm sure nothing I'm writing makes sense but I have to get it out!!!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK!!!! Over the moon!
How did things get so fucked up? Why did this have to happen now? Am I really just destined to have a shitty life?
Ohh, there's still lots of drama and plot twists out the wazoo but everything just comes full circle and somehow works itself out. It was most definitely a roller-coaster ride, filled with ups and downs. Everything had a purpose and F me, I still can't wrap my head around it all. It's clear to see that Lauren poured her heart and soul into this book! The complex and intricately woven story line continues with the addition of new characters and subplot. The alternating POV of every character just added MORE to the story. More substance, more love, hilarious banter, MORE, MORE, MORE and yes, MORE SEX!! This is one of the most original and unique story lines I've read as of late. Sure, some things were a bit predictable but others completely blindsided me.
There is no need to say anything. I can see everything that needs to be said with the dark passion that had taken over his beautiful blue eyes.
Death. New Life. Forgiveness. New Beginnings.
This book is just so full of hope...and love. Love *dreamy sigh*
"I'm in love with you in love with me."
And in the ever fitting words of my Paul: "I can't wait to blow my wod.." all over Lauren's next book! *wink*
The Unwritten Series is the boxed set of Unwritten and Rewritten.
BOOK #1
Unwritten is a debut book by Indie author Lauren Runow, and I was pleasantly surprised to find how well written, plus original this story was to read. It has very steamy, hot, sexy, erotic scenes, and so is not for young readers, but fine for mature “young at heart” readers. Through out the entire book music plays a huge part, with songs matched with every important scene of the book, and after you finish you are provided with a complete playlist to listen to and enjoy.
So what is the story about: Charles Ashley is a high-end male escort who is paid thousands for his services. He has lived this provocative lifestyle for ten years, but never having a true relationship so feeling very alone. One day he sees a girl at a coffee shop and after meeting Allison Hayes his entire life comes into question. He knows he can’t move forward till he deals with and ends his present job, but he finds it isn’t as easy as saying “I quit”.
Allison has no idea the man she is falling in love with is a male escort. She connects with him immediately through their love of music. She knows he is keeping secrets and knows she wants to “save” him, but no idea the twists and turns, and complications that come with loving and saving Charlie. They are in for quite a roller coaster of shocking events and readers get to go along with them. “He sat next to me at Starbucks of all places. He saw I was listening to Unwritten Law and interrupted me. We talked for hours, and things just continued from there.”
Book 1 ends in cliffhanger, but with both books together you can start reading book 2 as soon as you finish. There are decisions to be made, relationships to mend, and futures to be planned, all with one question; is their love strong enough to be “Rewritten”. · BOOK #2
Rewritten is the conclusion of the 2 book series. At the ending of Unwritten, Charlie Ashley is madly in love with Allison Hayes, but will his love be strong enough to overcome all the drama and turmoil that both of their lives have become. Allison thought that she had found the man of her dreams, but events just seem to keep piling on with new challenges.
Fate seems to be the theme of their love story, with everything happening for a reason. Even if they believe everything happens for a reason, they can't help but wish they knew what the reason was. There are so many twist and turns plus surprises for this couple, you can't help but wonder if they will ever have the “Happily Ever After” they both want so badly.
The secondary characters being Nichole, who is Allison's sister, and Paul who is Charlie's good friend, burn up the pages with their rapid and steaming hot relationship. Fate also seems to have thrown them together as part of the story.
“I don't know what I'm saying, but I feel that you know the answer in your heart. I've always been a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason and that there are signs everywhere. And these dreams, they are your signs. If we're meant to be together, then we will be. If we're meant to be each others forever, then we will be.”
Highly recommend and enjoyed both books in the series.·
Unwritten BoxSet by Lauren Runow - 5+++++ stars Sexy, hot, intense, thrilling story full of twists!
Something you should know before reading further.... You NEED to get this... You WANT to read this... You will CRAVE it!
Once again I was so drawn into another masterpiece Lauren Runow has created. It was impossible to put it down, I read every free awake moment and fought against sleep like my life depended on it. These books that are in this box sex Unwritten Book 1 and Rewritten Book 2 are Lauren's first books but if you didn't know this fact before reading you would've never known! She really did beyond amazing work and if I thought I was a devoted fan of hers before... Now I am convinced I will be forever.
These books have it all! WOW just WOW. I am in such a haze right now I can barely think straight. It was so good I hated that it had to end, I wanted to keep reading into oblivion. Mr.Ashley has found his way into my heart and he is staying there for my safe keeping :) These stories are written in such a beautiful and detailed way with huge doses of classy sexy romance scenes with jaw dropping twists that make you question everything. I am not the first nor the last one that got carried away while reading these incredibly hot hot and I mean hoooooot parts. That Mr.Ashley sure knew what he was doing *wink wink*.
After a while I knew there had to be something that would blow my mind but I never saw those twists coming. Bravo bravo Mrs. Runow, well done messing with this head and heart of mine. I was having several heart attacks but I loved and welcomed every single one of them :) I cried....I laughed...I smiled...I suffered....I died multiple times just to be brought back to life again.
What I loved more than words can describe is how Lauren managed to shift between so many different point of views in book 2 and still keep my attention to each situation. It wasn't only focused on the main characters Charlie and Allison but even those amazing and very important side characters as well. I haven't seen that before so far and I appreciated it immensely and it felt so different and like a breath of fresh air in a book world. Even now after I finished reading I want to read more about them all. Jason and sweet Jen with their adorable boys and Paul and Nichole are speaking to me so loudly I might just go insane.
Favorite quote: " I was choosing you, over everything I have because without you, I have nothing."
If you haven't read these books so far, this is a perfect chance to get this amazing box set and get lost into this terrifically amazing story!
The Unwritten Series. The Unwritten Series contains two amazing books, Unwritten and Rewritten by the awesome author Lauren Runow. Why read them separately when you can read both in this one book. I am just so glad I was able to read these when Lauren first published them. Truly astounding to experience her writing grow.
Unwritten. Un-bloody-Written. Where do I even begin? First, I applaud you, Lauren for a passionate, raw and down-right beautiful book. I swear I felt everything Allison had gone through. My heart was with her during the whole thing. And Charlie. He was the type of guy women spent their whole lives looking for. Romantic, caring, loving, ambitious. But his past. I have no idea how you were able to write this novel without breaking down. The twists and turns, the love and lust, just expecting the unexpected made this a must-read. A book which is too special to remain quiet. In a way he was doing his clients a favour. Showing them the love they craved, the romance they lost. But he just forgot that Allison should have come first. Love is too precious and too hard to find to be ignored. You proved that. How it takes one person to change your whole life's perspective, and you just realise how much they initially mean to you. It's something Charlie should have noticed before he got caught in a whirlwind of drama.
Rewritten. This novel is the rest of Charlie and Allison's story as both individuals and a couple. Reading this showed me that everything does happen for a reason, as Allison pointed out. Charlie was meant to find Allison and live the life he wished he had with the woman who was there from the beginning and the one who loved him unconditionally. I was able to watch Charlie progress into a man who put Allison first. He did figure out his priorities and did what was best for not only him, but also the love of his life. It was beautiful watching him transition from an immature, male escort to an honest, loving man. Allison. She was strong and so persistent when it came to fighting for her happily ever after. She had been dealt an excruciating card for her love life but her belief had led to her having Charlie in her life, a family who made up for their mistakes and a love of her own. This journey was about having friends who had your best interests at heart, families who supported you no matter what and obtaining a love you never thought you would have.
Unwritten-This book sounded incredibly intriguing from the synopsis and it did not disappoint. I think Lauren has written a great first book. The story drew me in. I loved the way Charlie goes after Allison, there seems to be such a connection from the start and you cannot help but wonder how the relationship will progress, especially with the sort of job Charlie has. There are twists and turns in this book that will have you shaking your head and thinking..OMG!!!!! Are you serious???!!! I loved the characters, loved the way they interacted. Then when Allison discovers something about her someone, she is absolutely thrown, thinking her life is such a lie….but I’m not saying anything more, you will have to read it for yourself!!!! I enjoyed it that much that I am extremely interested to know what happens next. What will be in store for the characters…where will things lead…I cannot wait to find out.
Rewritten- After having read Unwritten, the first book, I was incredibly excited to read the final book in this series! I enjoyed Unwritten but Rewritten was a sensational story that I found hard to put down. The author has knocked this book out of the ballpark, if you get what I mean! Lauren has done an outstanding job with Charlie and Allison's story so much so that you cannot help but feel emotions the same as the characters feel!
Charlie and Allison both have to overcome some things but their love for each other is incredibly strong! Oh Charlie, I certainly felt for him, his need to protect his better half and trying to handle things the best way he could, I just love him to bits! Each relationship is not without some sort of drama and if you recall the ending of Unwritten then I don't need to tell you how sensitive their situation is! Allison is a brave girl, seeking advice from her friend Sonia, even her sister Nichole, just shows talking about your fears can help ease the stress you are feeling inside! I loved the way Nichole and Paul are introduced to each other! Paul is Charlie's friend and needless to say what happens there is entertaining too! I loved the whole book, the direction the story took with some suspense, the ending too! A really wonderful story and I certainly hope that sometime in the future we hear about them again! I certainly cannot wait to see what Lauren writes next! I think She should also be incredibly proud of this series! Add both books to your TBR list or you are really missing out!
I received an ARC of this set in exchange for an honest review.
Book One- Unwritten
In theory, it starts out so well for Charlie and Allison. Boy sees girl at his favorite band's concert obviously fangirling her heart out. Boy then sees girl at Starbucks. Fate right? Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. Problem being that boy's job is screwing people for money. *record scratch* Yep, you read that right. And boy doesn't tell girl about his job... *inevitable crash* Oh, it gets worse, but I won't tell you all about that, you need to read it yourself. *bomb detonating*
Interesting premise, good execution, smoking hot smut. That bears repeating people. SMOKING. HOT. SMUT. I think some may have difficulty reading about -shall we say- Charlie's job performance, but I understand where the author was going with the storyline. However, I can see that it may be a little difficult for some...
I loved the interjection of music into the storyline, it was obvious that the author put a lot of thought into each song choice and it really added a whole other dimension into the story. The story was written in alternating points of view from Charlie and Allison, which may be off putting to some, but I enjoyed, it's interesting to me to be able to get inside both main characters heads. Fair warning... there is a Major cliffhanger at the end. Luckily for me, the next book Rewritten is already in my hot little hands!
Book Two - Rewritten
Rewritten is a continuation of Charlie and Allison's story. It picks up right where Unwritten's major cliffhanger left off, as well as giving us a slight off-shoot and branching out with the addition of Paul (Charlie's friend) and Nichole's (Allison's sister) tale.
Once more, we're given a story with some super hot smut and possibly my favorite part, which is the musical playlist and references, throughout the story. Music really does set the tone of the story and the way Lauren Runow connects the music with the scenes is masterful.
The ending felt a little rushed, which could be my own bias showing because I wasn't quite ready for the story to be over yet...
As you can imagine, since Charlie is a male escort, there are some steamy scenes going on in this book. Really hot and intense! I liked both Charlie’s and Alison’s perspectives and their different inner turmoil's about the other person. The story was a bit - for the lack of a better word - crazy sometimes but it kept me on edge a few times because there was a lot going on and I often had the feeling that this will go up like a bomb. How will they handle all that stuff? Can love conquer all of this? Will their love survive? I only had a problem with Allison in the second book because I just didn't like her most of the time for a few reasons.
The first book ends in a huge cliffhanger which is no problem when you have this box-set because you can instantly read on =) Yay!
The Story: Charlie is a male escort and couldn't dream of a better life. Who wouldn't love to get paid for having sex? A lot of men would gladly be him and there doesn't seem to be a woman that doesn't want to have sex with him. He loves his lifestyle though when he meets Allison, he can't seem to get her out of his mind, which really sucks when he is with a client because he shouldn’t be distracted by this woman so much and instead focused on his tasks at hand.
Alison is head over heels for this guy that she has so much in common with but barely knows. Though she wonders why, even after their third date, he doesn't show any intentions on making a move on her and when her sister comes up with a possible explanation, Alison is worried about what Charlie isn't telling her.
What will Charlie do now? Should he quit his job for a woman? But what should he do for a living since he's always been an escort? And how should he tell Allison? She would for sure hate and leave him, wouldn't she?
-- An ARC of the series box-set was kindly provided by WordSmith Publicity in exchange for an honest review. --
I am so grateful I was able to read these books as a boxset because I was left with so many questions after reading book one, which were thankfully answered in book two. As everyone knows, patience is not one of my virtues.
Charlie Ashley seemingly has it all! Working as a high-end male escort, he gets to bed a bevy of beautiful woman without the need for any commitment. Yet, at a concert for his favourite band, he is knocked for six by a beauty in the crowd. A chance meeting leaves Charlie with a quandary. How can he pursue The One, doing what he does for a living?
Allison Hayes is a young photography student who is swept off her feet by the tall, dark and handsome Charlie. However, she can feel him holding something back. When she is finally faced with the revelation of how he makes a living, will Allison be able to reconcile the two?
I lost count of the number of times I shouted “seriously!” whilst reading this series. It is full of angst, drama and suspense but also the love and heat these two generate. As one problem was resolved another raised its ugly head – ugh!!!
I wanted to shake both Charlie and Allison at various points in the story. I found myself so invested their relationship and had everything crossed for a HEA. As Charlie says:
“My world didn’t make sense until I met you.”
I loved and loathed some of the secondary characters. I particularly loved Paul; you’ll know why when you read it!! Plus, it’s all set against the amazing backdrop of San Francisco. A place I really hope to visit at some point.
The angst did get to me at times, but all in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable read which I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Lauren Runow has found a place on my auto buy list, especially after reading the amazing Black Widow which you have to check out as well.

Wow, I was not sure what to expect. I had first seen the individual books with the old covers and they didn’t catch my eye, but the story inside is fantastic. There is so much more going on that what is mentioned in the teaser.
Charlie Ashley sees Allison Hayes at a concert, but doesn’t approach her till the next day when he sees her at the coffee shop. Turns out he is a high-end escort and knows that she would never put up with that. Just when he realizes that she is more important than the lifestyle he is used to, he is motivated to keep his job obligations.
There is really a lot going on in this story and it is really a fantastic first effort. Just when you think there is going to be a HEA, it is ripped out from under you again and again. Although I saw a few of them coming there were a few that completely blindsided me. There were a few parts that seemed a bit slow, but overall the pace was good.
I really could not believe how patient and understanding Allison was. And the secrets…OMG they were just amazing. This is one of those reviews that can’t say much since there were so many twists and turns that can’t be discussed. I must say that I really liked the series boxed set so I could get the full story. I have to add that I loved the dreams that Charlie had. I loved the twist where Charlie models in Paris and how the billboard comes in to play later. There were so many sweet moments, but so much suspense at the same time. It really was a perfect story.
*REVIEW STARS* Hero: Charlie 5 Stars Heroine: Allison 5 stars Steam Level: 5 stars Plot: 5 stars Overall: 5 stars Cliffhanger: no Designation: boxed set Keys: Dual POV, MF, Dirty Talk, Good Pace, Big Secret, Troubled Past, Kidnapping, Made Me Smile.
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Two words come to mind when I think about this book. Arrogant and c*cky.
Team Charlie I was not. Throughout most of this story I felt like he was so full of himself. In fact, Mr. Ashley was so conceited, I had a hard time feeling any sympathy for him when sh*t got deep. He was what I am to believe is probably the stereotypical male escort. The fact that he kept “doing his job” while swearing he was falling in love with Allison won no brownie points with me. Have you ever wanted to reach in to your kindle and slap the sh*t out of someone....yes? Well, so have I.
I felt the story lacked until about ¾'s of the way through, and then it really picked up. I found myself glued to every word and my opinion changed quite drastically.
The s*x was hot and the story was something that slowly built. At one point it reminded me of Days Of Our Life's on crack.
4 Stars

The continuation of Charlie and Allison as well as the raging new relationship between Paul and Nichole was quite the emotional roller coaster!
The absolutely love the banter between Paul and Nichole!
“Shut the f*ck up. I'm f*cking a model?” “Um no. You just f*cked a model. We aren't f*cking.” I grab her, pulling her in close, “Oh, we are f*cking,” I respond, kissing her neck. “That doesn't mean it's going to keep happening.” I laugh, “Yes it does. Don't fight it. You like this di*k. Admit it. We are f*cking. And we're going to keep f*cking.”
Great ending to fantastic series! I will say that I didn't gain much more respect for Charlie. There is just something about his arrogance. I want more Paul, though!
I seriously don't know where to start with this review. These two books were amazing!! I finished them both in two days. And I stayed up till wee hours of the morning reading these books. I seriously didn't want this series to end!!
Book One: Unwritten Charlie has been a male escort for years. He enjoyed being a male escort and has been doing this for ten years. He sees Alison at a concert and then at a coffee shop. He immediately falls for her. But he is scared for her to know the truth about his job. She knows she won't take it well. This book is full of twists and turns that you won't see coming. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Even though Charlie has his issues, you will love him!!!!
Alison has a love for music and that's what brought her and Charlie togethor. But she also has a deep love for Charlie. But is her love for him strong enough to help him walk away from his job and allow her to be his only woman!!! Ladies prepare to have your panties ripped off if not by you then by your significant other. Book One is extremely hot and sexy!!! AND A CLIFFHANGER. Be ready and have Book 2 waiting on your kindle.
Book 2: Rewritten And we pick up where we left off. This book is perfection to say the least. Get ready to meet a new character and my gawd have mercy on all of our souls. Paul!!! This book has quite a few twists and turns so get ready. Rewritten will blow you away. I won't say a word about book 2. But you will love it!!!!!! 10 stars- 5 for both books. Although the series deserves way more.
I love when a book keeps you guessing. I am a guesser...a really good one, but for the life of me I didn't see half of the twist and turns in this roller coaster of a series coming.
So, the honest truth: I had a hard time latching on until about a quarter of the way into book one, but I kept reading because I had faith in the story and lets be real, Charlie is smokin' -I mean, he is an escort. ;) But as the story went on I found myself dying to know what would happen next. In my opinion, there is nothing better than witnessing an Alpha fall to his knees because of a woman.
Book one and two rolled into one briefing: When Charlie meets Allison he is instantly drawn to her. So, he goes against everything he has ever known and decides to get to know the auburn haired beauty. He fights his feelings as much as he can, but love is -as he learns- a powerful bastard. As soon as he makes a decision on the way he wants his life to go, shit hits the fan, hard, and their relationship is tested.
Right when life seems to get back on track for Charlie, a curve he (I) never saw coming is thrown and he has to make a serious, life changing (or ending) decision. And, let me tell you, it's a BOOM, drop the mic, turn your world upside down kind of decision. The biggest question being, will Allison be around at the end of it all?
Note: the stars are based on the series as a whole, not each individual book.
I absolutely loved the story of Allison and Charlie. Or Mr. Ashley I should say. This book was about a man who had a rough childhood. Finishing his teenage years without the people who loved him the most. He lost his way until a woman older than him found him and put him to work making him a very rich man. The work he done was not something like going into an office or getting his hands dirty from honest days pay. He made his living by having sex with women. An escort would be a good way to put it. Until he sees Allison at both of there favorite bands concert. He couldn't get his mind off her. He had never felt so drawn. During this time it made me feel so hopefully for Charlie. That he could finally put his past in the past and make Allison his future. several dates later and there still this huge pull that draws them together. You will have to read this amazing book to see how there story turns out. I felt so helpless and excited all at the same time and the ending wow. Until I see you again. NEVER say goodbye!! 5 stars all the way!!
Book 2 Omg!! I started reading this book and didn't stop until it was finished!! Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off so reading book 1 is a must!! I cried and screamed all the way through this book. Allison Charlie Lyric Paul and Nichole will be in my heart forever. I loved every single word. absolutely amazing book set by an amazing author!!! kudos my darling kudos!!!!
Charlie Ashley's business is women. Wining, dining and wooing them. It's what he gets paid for and he is very good at it. He never realized there was more to life than that until he sees her. He is instantly enamored with her.
Allison Hayes has her life on track. She's working towards her dream job and never imagined meeting a man as charming as Charlie. There is something about him that draws her in, something she just doesn't understand.
These books (Unwritten and Rewritten) were previously released separately. I'm thrilled I was given the opportunity to read them together as I would have hated to wait for the 2nd book. The writing is good and there are quite a few, well-plotted twists. I was drawn in from the beginning. Allison is a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and doesn't allow the opinions of others to sway her. Charlie is a broken man who finally sees the light. It is no wonder he is who is and where is as the story begins because of circumstances out of his control. He's a fighter and it shows throughout the book.
I would definitely recommend these books. I would love to see a book written predominantly about Paul, Charlie's friend and Nichole, Allison's sister.
I will admit that when I started, I wasn't sure I would like it. It's in the first person format and these type of books generally aren't my favorite. I will say I did get hooked though and couldn't stop reading. I had to know how things ended.
Charlie is loving life as a single, high-end male escort in San Francisco...that is right up until he sees the woman who makes him feel - something he's avoided for years -and then he meets her and he's ready to change his ways. Allison, an up and coming photographer, totally falls for Charlie in return. Will they get the fairytale ending that you're rooting for? You'll have to read this series to find out. They definitely have their challenges...and that may be an understatement...some that will definitely be hard to overcome.
Even though I loved reading about Paul and Nichole, I almost wish they would have had less of a storyline in part two of the series. I really would have loved for them to have their own book. I did feel they were a bit disruptive to Charlie and Allison's storyline...even though they played a part throughout.
Overall I'm definitely glad I read it, and I'm sure you will be too. Give it a whirl!
I loved Allison in this book. She is someone everyone could relate to. I liked reading about San Francisco and surrounding towns because it's where I live and it makes it fun to know where they are talking about. Some of their encounters were not as realistic but for the stories sake I felt like they were necessary. I think the connection between the characters is really good and adds intensity to the story. I liked how a few characters had secret lives.. That was fun to read about as well. There was a slight cheesy factor with the cross fit being such a big part of the book and the way the songs were incorporated into the book.. Mostly because it's not my style of music and I wasn't going to run to the computer and try to look the songs up.. All in all it was a good book and it was easy to read. I enjoyed it and looked forward to reading the next one!!
Rewritten
Loved that they introduced another couple into the mix. It keeps the book spicy and fun! The way the drama unfolded in this book was super intense but I love how the very end brought you back to feeling at peace and happy! I love a happy ending!
I had a really slow start to this series, it took be til the end of book one to get into it. I thought with his career choice that there would be a lot more drama and angst but I didn't find that. I also didn't connect with the characters until. The storyline was great & the ideas were well thought out as well. Once book two started I was in it for the long haul, I still didn't connect with the characters but I was dying to see how it all ended. Allison was a little weak in my opinion I think that might have been where the disconnect for me was, for everything that was thrown at her I wish she would be stood up a bit and fought back against it.
Charlie is sexy and sweet and broken and Allison is his savior, she finds him at the right time and things eventually fall into place for them.
Now, enter Paul & Nichole, I LOVED them!
My 3 star rating is really a mixture of my lesser rating for the main characters but a definite 5 star rating for the secondary couple, I would love to read a whole novella about them.
The Unwritten Series is a set of two books ( Unwritten and Rewritten) that take us on an adventure of finding what is meant to be.
Charlie is a male escort, Allison a photographer. I absolutely loved how the author threw in so much music in to this story to show emotion along with the words. I enjoyed the story of how they meet and how they become a couple, and felt all the feelings and anger and frustration and shock that these characters felt. I love taking photographs myself so reading about how successful Allison became and how she said everything happens for a reason is one of my main mottos. When we come along to the second half in the series I was happy to get to know more of the side characters and how they all end up mixed up in each others lives. The few twists and unknowns make this one of those "I want to know the end NOW but don't want it to end" reads! All around great series about some great characters. I would love to know more about Paul and Nichole eventually!
This rating is for the series as a whole. If I would split them apart Unwritten (1) would be a 4 star read and Rewritten (2) would be a 2 star read.
Unwritten (1): Mr. Ashley is a well paid male escort that finds himself in the classic boy sees girl, boy meets girl, boy falls in love. With his job in the way, he hides his true self until it is necessary to allow Allison to see who he really is. The story kept me reading up until the cliffhanger and I was really ready to see how everything was going to play out.
Rewritten(2): The story continues, however, the added point of views of four other characters made it harder to enjoy the storyline. It seemed to make the story of Charlie (Mr. Ashley) and Allison harder to follow because as soon as you were ready to find out how they would tackle the next challenge, you were thrown into another character. The book does finally give you the HEA that you are looking for and hoping for.
