This book takes place DURING "Release The Dogs of War" The Kurtherian Gambit #10 (coming out end of June)
John looked at all of his guys, “That would typically mean we go to a bar, but I’m not sure how much that would affect us. While I fully intend to end up in a dive, I think there is only one way to get rid of the pent up aggression I’m feeling.”
“Well, considering how you're decked out,” Eric said, “I think you believe we need to work out our aggression?”
“What I’m thinking,” John said, “Is that the best way to get rid of aggression is to mess up some people who desperately need to be messed up. So, I’ve had Frank help me locate a few places that need help. Now, we might not make it to all of them, but by the end of the night we will have done some major good, and I’ll start feeling a little Karmic balance restored. If you guys aren’t full up, well, we will just have to schedule it again.”
Another short story. This one brings new meaning to a boys night out. They get all dressed up to go visiting. They take out several bad guys saving numerous civilians with no way to defend themselves.
Tabitha shows up in this one. She is having problems with the Forsaken. She agrees to go to The Queen Bitch and give her allegiance. She is still grieving Michael's disappearance, but refuses to accept his death. So she needs a new leader.
Scott ends on a good note. He takes down someone from his passed who killed a friend. Then Aiko persuades said man to turn himself into the police confessing all his crimes. Neat trick huh. Well i'm of to find more to read. Enjoy! It's so cool how they kick ass.
Bitch’s Night Out is the second installment in the Frank Kurns Stories of the UnknownWorld series by Michael Anderle.
This book made up for the near utter lack of true actions scenes in the tenth book of the Kurtherian Gambit series. But it was still lacking, in that it either needed more bang or wow factor to make up for being so short. But it would’ve truly been more appreciated if it was longer and more detailed with maybe a few more instances of taking down bad men.
I’m glad we got actually witness the Tabitha ‘aren’t you all gay moment’ with Hirotoshi and Ryu. As well, I hope we see more of Bartholomew in the future.
Another will written paranormal fantasy world 🌎 space adventure thriller short story by Michael Anderle (Frank Kurns Stories of the Unknown World book two). John and his group go from South America to the Middle East to New York City back to South America. They are on missions that are successful. I would recommend this novella series and author to 👍 readers of paranormal fantasy adventure novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa read different types of books 📚. 2023 😮👒😡😕
A different type of paranormal novella. Happy reading in 2023 🌙
I have loved everyone of your books, since I started with the first one. I went and bought them all. I am on Release the Dogs of War. Can not wait to see how this all plays out. I have been read your books now for a week. My family has threatened to hide my kindle, iPad and iPhone if I do not slow down and do something other then get lost in your books. I can not stop reading them.
The last book I read from the author, got a real 3 star review instead of being round up. This one gets a 2 star, no rounding involved. It just was ‘meh’. Nothing special and nothing significantly good. I had expected a lot more from this book and the whole side concept of the Frank Kurns Tales.
I think a big portion of the dissatisfaction is that these stories are basically excerpts from the main novels. They easily could have been told in those books and should have been. That this is supposed to be Frank writing the stories that could be released for public consumption, then the author should have written it differently. Used a different ‘voice’ then his standard of writing on the other books in the main series. I would have liked it as more of a personal story of significance to one of the characters in the main series.
Even making it about the Bitches would have been fine, so long as it wasn’t the same as the main series. A suggestion would have been to make it the group expanding and opening themselves to Akio and making him one of them. It comes across as Bethany Anne made the Elites and their leader of the Elites is therefore a member of the Queens Own. I would have liked it better that the guys would have had a situation where they bonded with Akio and wanted him as one of their Own.
I will give the author a minor kudos, but a very minor one. It’s great he finally made one character gay. Seriously though only one?? The populace of the world is supposedly 10% to possibly 20%, that might identify as other then straight. In the large group working for TQB, I would expect that maybe 5% would be other. It wouldn’t even need to be broached, except the author already had done so. He did this by not only mentioning Akio as being gay but has with so many other characters, mentioned their sexual interests. John’s non-interest of having sex with the Queen, as well as so many others commenting on their or others sexual nature, such as BA, Gabrielle, Michael, Nathan, Ectarina, John & the Bitches, plus so many others - even Lance & Patricia or Frank wanting to save the Damsel in Distress.
Another down point to this story was why was there an excerpt within this excerpt? Meaning the Tabitha scene at the South American house. Why cut the story to change to her and then go back. What was the point. It didn’t promote the guys night out. She’s isn’t one of the Queens Own, like Gabrielle, so why include it? Also, the indifference of Tabitha to her two vampire guards. She automatically assumes they are gay because Akio is, that’s just wrong.
I also found it condescending that a person would automatically take their clothes off in front of two people, who they don’t know well, but because she assumed they are gay, it was fine to do this. If she was a nudist and did this without thinking, that’s one thing, but because the males were supposedly gay, then it’s okay to do it - NOPE! So if there is a straight male and a lesbian woman together, then he should be fine stripping down and won’t offend the woman in the process? Most men wouldn’t do this because they’d be concerned with offending a woman, so why is it fine for a female to do this to a male? Nudity and sexual interest have nothing to do with each other. I have known both males and females that are uncomfortable with others being nude, as well as I have met both where only in certain situations is nudity acceptable. Try going to a nudist resort sometime, there are rules of conduct in such places, why shouldn’t the basics be used elsewhere.
The author has handled nudity better in the main series. He had Bethany Anne change clothes quickly in front of her guard or others. It was always in a rush to change to appropriate fighting attire. That made sense at the time, Tabithas scene didn’t work and was offensive to say the least.
Also as I stated before, it’s supposed to be a story written by Frank for the outside world. This story, with popping in on Tabitha, and so much else, if you don’t know the back story from the main series, these books don’t stand alone as it’s own entity. Excerpts are fine, short stories are good and well, but don’t state the title and concept as Frank Kurns Tales and then write it as anything but that.
Definitely a disappointing story for the main series and an even bigger one as a stand alone concept for a second series in the universe.
I loved this second Frank Kurn short story. I love that it gives a glimpse into the lives of the Queen's Own. I love that it shows what they get up to when 'off duty', and the kind of personalities, and sense of belonging that they develop so quickly
Anyone who is a fan of the Kurtherian Gambit series, will know how important these men are to Bethany Anne, and will see just how much she trusts them, when they read these short stories. I know that it opened my eyes to their personalities, quirks, and humour when under fire.
Even if you've never read any of Michael Anderle's books - and why haven't you? - then this one would be a great one to start with and, by the way, if you don't mind some very inventive, and particularly funny, cussing, then these will definitely be the books for you!
I started reading book Number 1 and I am now on book 11 🤦🏻♀️ plus Frank Kurns short stories in between... darn it I can’t seam to get off this series to continue on what I was reading 📖🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I Love LOL 😂 literally!!!! Michael has a great sense of humor and I’ve been reading 📖 books since I got into high school... they took me to another world 🌎 another place and just helped me escape... don’t get me wrong I love my family but it’s nice to be away from them!!!
1. The story is about social justice. It's like the little boy on the beach with his dad. The boy is picking up starfish that are stranded and throwing them back into the ocean. Dad says " son, you can't save them all" . Son says " yeah, but I can save some. " I would like a world are we all try to save some. At least it makes as difference to them.
This series is something light for the many fans who have grown to enjoy reading the Kutherian Gambit books. There isn’t any major task for the Bitches to complete so much as a vignette that lets them enjoy delivering the Queen’s Justice to slime that richly deserve a dose of high velocity or high explosive methods of removing crap from society. A good time is had by all, excepting of course the lowlifes in question!
I guess fun night to blow off steam might be different for the Queen’s Own than most people. Though, I sure wouldn’t mind flying in one of the Black Eagles! Lol
I was cheering them on most of the time. I especially liked at the end Scott decided on police instead of vigilantism to resolve the murder of one of his friends from the past.
The Bitches are out to unwind and have some fun. Lookout bad guys, their idea of fun is kicking some bad guy butt!
It was quite entertaining to read what the Queen 's Bitches did when they were out to unwind with a little bad guy butt kicking. I especially liked the poetic justice that the killer pimp received.
The camaraderie and the brotherhood of the OG four and then five with Peter, has always been awesome, this book felt like Akio's initiation. He is learning the guys shorthand "watch this" and shows them he is a force worth respecting. There are good moments for all of the guys but Akio and his interactions with them stuck out to me. Fun little read!
I'm enjoying finding Frank's books. All books have sections that are left up to our imagination simply because they have limited space. These fix that problem. Love what John said at the end. Hopefully everyone reading these books have pondered the right/wrong of vigilantism, and as an end to the Bitch's night out, it had an impact. ✋🐺
An introduction to several characters from the 'The Kurtherian Gambit' series. A look at the vigilantes as they release some steam. If you are reading the series, this is probably worthwhile; otherwise, skip it.
Entertaining, fun, & down right intimidating. John, Scott, Daryl, Eric, Akio, & Peter are out for a vengeful night at multiple locations around the globe. plenty of snark and killing to go around. A quick read.
This short story was a condensed version of all the fight scenes from one of the author's full length novels. There was a lot of testosterone flying around. It's like watching the A team with an R rating and an Independence Day budget, with better dialogue.
This series is fantastic. Lots of action and a great story line. The characters are from the Kathurian Gambit series so they are super. Michael is the new king of urban fantasy, hands down.
Keep them coming l love the characters and the action! With all the crap and craziness going on in the world today. It's fun to see the good guys dominating for a change.
I did not get that Frank had been let loose to write full in stories. Great books! I'm looking forward to filling in the holes in the stories! Such a complex little web we weave...back to reading!
This was such a PERFECT thing to read right after Hell to Choose. It was light, and fun, and helped ease the wonderful pain. It sounds like they had a blast! I would love to know what the girls got up to during that time. Maybe good for another Kurns book!
Bethany Anne's guards know how to party! I love that we get a peek into the characters lives when they aren't right in the middle of the action. It truly shows their "human" side
As usual, anderle entertains. This isn’t literature, this is a fun read. Even nicer that these shorts fill in some of the back stories for the Kutherian Gambit series.
I didn't know I hadn't read all of the in between books of the kurtherin series. Jeez. I thought I was nearly done. This story however was awesome. I will definitely search for more books in the series.
Anderle Assignment #11 Frank Kurn #2 Related series to the Kutharian main series is short and full of bang bang boom boom yeehaw stuff and then it is done. Finished one day after the last Anderle book so got to finish before any other ones had been added! Great effort that!!
Really enjoyed the fast paced, action filled tempo of the book. Never a dull moment making it difficult to put down. The only problem I have is that it's to short! Really wish it was longer.
