Recently discharged from the army Curtis Lane never pictured himself dating a senator's son. Nevermind the little detail that the relationship is just a publicity stunt. Nevermind the fact that one look at Cap Michaels and Curtis can't get him out of his head. Nevermind that Curtis is actually falling for him. When the senator offers a way back to the army and the only life he's ever known, how can Curtis refuse?
I enjoyed this so much. I was wary cuz it was long, and yeah I had one or two moments it was dragging for me, but not often bc SO MUCH OF THIS was imperative to let Cap come out of his shell and give Curtis a chance. And OMFG how I ADORE Curtis. So much. I think the ONLY thing that hurt the story for me was after such a long book waiting for them to get together then get to a place they could get to an HEA (and they did and it made me happy), I NEEDED some kind of epilogue, even the briefest bc they had gone through so much to get where they were.
I did genuinely love this story tho. Def worth a read.
