Rate this book
What would you do for your assassin master? Carrie is kidnapped into a life of slavery that she fights tooth and nail. She is faced with two options, submit or die. Neither scenario is appealing. Dead, she has no life, no chance. Alive, there is hope. Whisked away into a remote area, Carrie learns to depend on Tyr, an assassin who's saved her life and wants her to live. Carrie has no choice but to learn how to please a man. Her new life in bondage takes a scarier turn when an uprising throws her into the hands of countless men. One who wants to own her, one who loves her more than life itself, and another who will risk everything to get her back into his loving arms.

Born and raised in Ontario, C. L. Scholey developed her passion for writing through her love of reading books as a child. Her first book was contracted in Oct 2009 the very same month her first grand son was born. C. L. Scholey still lives in Ontario, in a rural community with her husband and daughter.

From the author:
Hello, I'm Connie! Now that we've met how about I tell you a little about me? I love to write, it's like having a super power.

I was born and raised in Ontario...yes I'm Canadian, no I don't live in an igloo, no I've never pet a polar bear, but I have run into a few black bears, seen wolves, moose, coyotes and I think there's a hundred pound squirrel in my attic.

I spend as much time as I can get away with looking for rocks in Bancroft. When I'm not in Bancroft I live in a small town, so people know me when they see me. Some ask me what I'm working on--some even ask me in a regular voice not a whisper.

I get bored easily, it's why one day I'll be working on assassins, the next Sci-fi, then Vikings, then vampires, then planning world domination--wait, what?

Moving on. I love animals and we have a dog, 120p mastiff. He's great with the kids and careful around them, but he'd run me over for a piece of bologna. Otherwise he loves us.

If you want to get to know me better join me on FB or twitter. Right now I need to change back into a mom, it's my best super power.

This series just keeps getting better! The plot twist toward the end, I never saw coming. The author sucked me in with this book, lol. I was only going to read a couple chapters. Ha, it's now 4:00 am and I've finished the entire book.

i enjoyed reading the story but i didn't enjoy how spineless and weak the heroine became. In the beginning she fought, almost committed suicide but when a nice looking guy smiles at her and shows her some kindness ( just because he doesn't hit her) and feels her up, she cries for anything…. didn't like reading how much of a victim she was and accepting of that position….

DNF at 30%. While this is a bit better written than the last story and not so repetitive, the story itself doesn't suit me, and though I wanted to read about Tyr, not enough to let this book take me where it's going. Not for me.

Did not finish. The premise was completely horrible to start with and I could see by 27% in that it was only going to get worse with no better in sight. It is not romantic to be captured by a white-slaver. It is not romantic to be "rescued" by a guy who tolerates the actions of the white-slaver. Anyone who tolerates white-slavery is no better than them and certainly not hero material. It looked as though he was going to "rescue" her by dragging her to some place that trains people in BDSM, and he was thinking she would have to play along for her own safety, whether she liked it or not. Not just no, but hell no. How is this any less than rape?

My stomach was flipping with nausea by the time i got to this point, so I had to delete the book. I bought the entire series on sale because her new world books aren't bad. Now I wish I had saved my money.

This book was and up and down issue for me. I really enjoyed the book.It was an adventure and there was always something going on. Tyr was a big bad ass assassin with true hunk appeal, but except for her looks, I could not understand why he would fall for someone like Carrrie. She was weak, wimpy and cringed or cried about EVERYTHING. God! Halfway thru the book I wanted to smack her and yell "get a f*%#2!@g backbone woman"! I also had no appreciation for how the author used the last 5 pages of the book for that pitifully bad wrap up of the love triangle with Ace.
