There is a fine line between dubious consent and rape. However, this book is very precarious. HEAT started off with great potential, but when Ryan treats Shane like a sandband, I couldn't tolerate how much those scenes irritate me even though they were hot and sexy. All in all, Sadie Sins' books are my guilty pleasure to read whenever I'd like some smuts to boil my blood.

Dabbling in dubious consent erotica is always risky, even when writing is good. Especially when writing is good.
In this short story there could be no doubt about things, even if the author tries her most to justify the two young men's behaviour to take out the "rape's sting". She does not succeed. I had to skim through about one half of the elongated sex/rape scene and still felt uncomfortable because in the end rape is not hot.
A pity. With less focus (or even better NO FOCUS) on sex and or with a deft shift of circumstances, this story could have been hot.

Unbridled and Fierce. Wow! This story was fabulously hot and feral. It was even humorous at times. Ryan is a wolf in serious heat when he realizes that Shane, a total jerk who harassed him all through school, is his mate. Such a wonderful guilty pleasure that had me immensely enthralled. It's not often that I read about a wolf trying to mate with someone who he despises. Frankly, Shane was such a wretched person that I didn't mind that he was tied to a chair and received a little punishment from Ryan. Shane was a very hard nut to crack, but I did love it when he also realizes that Ryan's his mate. I wouldn't mind reading a bit more about those two. The author's style of writing was superb and unrestrained with very well depicted characters. I felt a bit sorry for Ryan having had to grow up practically on his own then having to put up with Shane's evil antics. He held his own though, and I just loved this book. :)

For the most part the story was decent. The only thing that I found askew was during the scenes in school when Ryan got all up on Shane. Where were all students when this was happening? Did they all seem to run off immediately leaving just the two of them there getting hot and heavy? We will never know...

It is a 5 star read. Only gave 4.2 because it ends abruptly! It looks like HFN, but open ended. Noooo! It was so short and just when Shane was being a hoe for Ryan and they were about to go to the latter’s car to drive off to Ryan’s house, it ends!!

i started with hating Shane, but by the end, i loved hoe Shane! :D It only consists of an extended sex situation that happens when Ryan kidnaps him and goes to Ryan’s house. But by the end, Shane has taken a bath at his house, and willing had sex. So, it was nice to see the transition.

Fire in my kindle. Scorching hot. The first novella is dubcon and super steamy. Like, the whole story is a long sex scene, except for the first part. And it is true, out of nowhere our heroes are all alone to get on each other.. in the middle of school.. in the middle of the freaking class,. but no worries, they are alone, no idea why.
In the 2nd part the story has more development and in spite of being them alone again for 90% of the story, it is not all sex. Except when there is and this time it is Shane who claims his mate (unlike novella #1 where it is Ryan and his wolf who claim Shane as his). I didn't not expect the switch, so it was a lovely -and hot-surprise.

There was essentially no plot, more like a vehicle to get to the main point which in this book was the sex scenes. So don't expect a plot, just expect sex, which some people might love so to each their own!

First things first - I really like this author. Unfortunately this one didn’t work for me. It was nothing to do with the dub-con/non-con, I was just bored. And the consistent alternating between the characters names and calling them “the brunette” and “the blonde” - a lot - is what weirdly pushed this into DNF territory at around 50%.

My rating is solely on the the viewpoint that this is a short one shot pwp read. It in no way felt like a full book with character development or much dialogue besides between the two MCs during sex.
But when your writing is that hot? Who really cares about plot....😏
