My job’s hard enough without Jack Hawke making things even worse. He winds up on my list of patients, having been on the wrong end of a savage beating. He won’t tell me what happened, and he seems more interested in getting into my pants than getting better.
When I finally manage to tease the truth out of him, he wants more in return from me than just my advice. And the trouble is…I’m having a hard time saying no. His rippling muscles and his dangerous smile tell me to steer well clear…but I always have had a hard time listening to good advice.
I end up getting drawn into his dangerous world of mobsters and underground cage fighting – he might be right at home there, but I’m completely out of my depth. Can he protect me? Will he give himself to me, even if it means leaving his old life behind?
Hawke
I never lose. Ever. I’m undefeated in the cage, and I plan to keep it that way. So when Valentino, the local mob boss, tries to get me to throw a fight, ain’t no way in hell I’m agreeing to that.
As it turns out, Valentino ain’t too happy when things don’t go his way. He sends his boys to rough me up – five on one ain’t a fair fight, but I damn near make it one. When I wake up in the hospital, I meet her. Naomi. She’s fucking gorgeous, but she’s full of questions that I don’t wanna answer. All I want from her is her hands on my body and her lips doing something other than talking…
It doesn’t take long, though, for me to realize that she’s not like the rest. She’s sassy, funny, intelligent. And she’s offering me a way out – a way out of the dangerous life that’s all I’ve ever known.
Trouble is, you don’t just walk away from someone like Valentino. He thinks he can get to me by threatening Naomi. He’s wrong. And he’s made the biggest mistake of his life. Like I said, I never lose. And now he’s my next opponent.
I’m gonna take him down, and I’m gonna make Naomi mine. Forever.
This is the first book that I have read by this author, Ashley Rhodes, and I loved it! This is a standalone and is told by both Naomi Ellis and Jack Hawke. They were funny with their banter, chemistry undeniable, and some hot scenes! Both have had some tough times, but come from different worlds. Naomi works at a hospital, in the bad part of town, as a physical therapist. She has two overprotective people in her life. An older sister, Nicola, and their mutual friend, but her best friend since childhood, Jason. Nicola has been in love with Jason for as long as Jason has been in love with Naomi. However, Jason doesn't realize Nicola's feelings for him and Naomi only loves Jason like a brother. She feels caged because of this, them being in her business, her job and life are now just a daily routine. Until cage fighter, Jack Hawke, gets rolled into her life. Hawke never loses! So when the mob boss, Valentino, bet against him, and he wins...Valentino sends more than one thug to teach Hawke a lesson. This is how he ends up meeting Naomi. Hawke is immediately attracted to her. He's not sure why he feels so different about her, and his stubbornness and internal conflict is amusing. Naomi has the same problem, especially since he's her patient and is constantly ruffling her feathers. It's hilarious to read both sides of their thinking during their banter, internal conflict, and hot scenes at times! However, the more they talk, the more they like each other, and people good and bad notice. By the time he figures out that he can't just get Naomi out of his system, like he would with his usual choice of women, will he be too late? Will Hawke help Naomi finally break free from her cage? Will the threats from Valentino be the only ones? Has Jack Hawke finally met his match and will he lose?
This is my first book by this author. Our H is Jack Hawke, an undefeated cage fighter for the Mob. Our h is Naomi Ellis, a Physical Therapist.
Jack is a cage fighter for the Mob. He is undefeated but Valentino, the Mob boss, orders him to lose the next match. Jack wins but in the long run, he loses. He is beaten by Valentino's thugs and later taken to a hospital. Jack wakes up in the hospital with broken ribs, cracked teeth and a ton of other injuries. He figures he will at least be there long enough to hide out from Valentino and plan for his revenge. That is until he meets Naomi, his physical therapist.
Naomi is the little sister to Nicola and best friend to Jason, a police officer. Nicola is in love with Jason and Jason is in love with Naomi and Naomi is not loving her life. She is a physical therapist at Saint Michael's. She has difficult patients and is getting burnt out. After dealing with a extremely difficult patient, she goes on to the next and meets Jack.
The chemistry between Jack and Naomi was off the charts. There was problems with the Mob, an interfering older sister and best friend that wanted more but nothing took my attention off Jack and Naomi's chemistry. I wish we had got a bit more of Jack's POV but that was my only complaint. A great first book by this author for me.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
*** Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review *** Don't you just love it when the writer writes amazing supporting characters to not only suck us in to the story, but to truly bring out the personalities in the main characters making you feel like you can relate and understand their world. The story is about Jack Hawke, a cocky, alpha-male with a large than life attitude, cage fighter in an illegal underground street fighting. Jack was attacked and beaten up for not throwing a fight which he ended up at Saint Michael's Hospital where he meet Naomi. Naomi is a physical therapy at the hospital and was assigned to Jack as her patient. The story is very impressive and entertaining with great romantic scene and a couple humorous moment. This is a total different storyline for me than what I normally read although it was well written which kept the reader attention. I have no intention of spoiling your reading pleasure by telling you the story of the book. Just get it, you won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to reading about Jason and Nicola's history!
When Jack Hawke meets Naomi he's laid up in a hospital bed after taking a beating, all because he won an underground cage fight he shouldn't have. When Naomi meets Hawke she is there as his physical therapist to help him before he leaves the hospital. Little do both realize just how much the other is going to change their lives. This was a new author for me and I enjoyed this book. Hawke comes off as nothing but a fighter, out for the instant gratification that comes with being a winner. Until Naomi makes him work just to get her attention and then shows him sometimes people do stick around. Naomi finds with Hawke that there is more to life than just work, home, sleep and repeat. This is the first book I've read by Ashley. I loved it!!! This is not your typical fighter/MMA story. You never actually see Jack in the ring. Jack is injured by the mafia for not taking the fall in a match. Naomi is the physical therapist who is assigned to Jack while he's in the hospital. She thinks he's an arrogant jerk. He thinks she's a good girl just begging to be set free by his bad boy ways. There are several obstacles standing in their way, her family and friends, his lifestyle and most importantly he's her patient. Can these two find their HEA or will circumstances keep them apart? You will have to read it to find out and highly encourage you to do so. You will not be disappointed. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first book I have read by this author it definitely won't be my last. Jack ended up in hospital after he did not throw a cage fight . Valentino how was the head of the local mafia had money riding on that fight and becaus Jack did not lose he got his thugs to beat him up. Naomi work in the hospital as a physical therapist and she was signed Jack as a patient the fist time they meat sparked flew between them. Will Naomi be able to get through to Jack to change his life. In this story it is going to take you on one fantastic journey. Received this book for an honest review. Do yourself a favour and give this book ago. Go and grab a drink and get ready for one hot read.
This is the first book I've read by Ashley Rhodes and it most definitely won't be the last. From the very first page to the very last, this author has written a story that you will not want to put down. The story-line is intriguing and keeps you turning the pages, the characters are amazing and you can't help but care for them, and the chemistry between the hero and heroine is hot, their desire for one another an unstoppable force of nature.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.

If you don't read this book your missing out on more than a good read but a great one. You get thrill passion motivation determination danger heat and love but also true hope that not all should be judged by a cover. The story is about how Naomi found what she needed in Jack. And Jack found what he never had in Naomi. He was beaten and taken to the hospital to get better she was his physical therapist. But she saw through his harsh words to a man who would never be something he wasn't or un true. He gave her the passion and hungry she didn't get from others plus a chance to be free. Together they an explosion. But other like her sister and best friend Jason can't see beyond their own wants from her. And others like mobsters like Valentino she her as a means to get to jack. Hawke is an underground cage fighter who ends up in the hospital when the local Mafia boss isn't happy when he didn't throw a fight, and has several of his men teach him a lesson. There Hawke meets Naomi, his beautiful but feisty physical therapist. The connection between Hawke and Naomi is immediate. Hawke flirts and makes it clear he wants more. Naomi tries her best to fight her attraction to the handsome bad boy fighter. Some things you can't fight. But with a nosey sister, an over protective best friend and a mob boss interfering, Hawke and Naomi will have to fight to be together.
I genuinely liked both Naomi and Hawke. She's a fun straight forward heroine and he's a sexy and honest dirty talking hero. I personally wanted to thump Nic and Jason. Hawke is a pretty fast read and the characters fall for each other rather quickly. The story is told from dual POVs and has a happy ending.
3.5 - 3.75 stars
This purchase contains another story, Sons of Flame MC - Redemption, but I haven't read that story yet to include a rating/review.
I must admit that I am very impressed with this book that Ashley Rhodes has written, it is a excellent Bad Boy Romance. The story is about Jake Hawke, a belligerent, stubborn cage fighter in the world of illegal underground street fighting, he got beaten up for not throwing a fight and lands up in Saint Michael's Hospital and Naomi, the physical therapist that treats him, she has a sister Nicola and a friend Jason who is a cop. In this story you will find drama, a feisty woman, a stubborn man, a interfering but caring friend, mafia, suspense, danger, action, forbidden sex in hospital, falling in love and emotional erotic scenes. The story-line is impressive and well written, the plot is taut and terrific. The characters are well developed, tangible and realistic with their feelings, desires and needs. This is a exceptionally good Bad Boy Romance and I recommend this book to people that like to read a extremely good book.

Jack Hawke lives a life of violence as a cage fighter for the notorious Mafia boss. Not willing to throw a fight as ordered, a pack of goons deliver his punishment, a beating so severe he ends up in the local hospital. There he meets Naomi, a strong minded physical therapist. There is an instant connection that puzzles them and each tries to deny it. Wonderful reading experience as Jack & Naomi struggle through their emotions and try to understand what is happening. Along the way, there is a meddling friend that complicates things and an irate mob boss wanting to finish Jack's "career". All the excitement, fights, drama and hot passionate scenes will entertain you thoroughly. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I loved it and couldn't put it away till I could finish it. My ARC didn't include the bonus book but I am sure that it is just as good as her other books are. I know that you will love reading about Hawke and Naomi. Hawke is a cage fighter who wouldn't throw a fight for anyone. Naomi is his physical therapist and a natural helper. She wants to help Hawke get out of the life that he is living and build a new one somewhere else away from all the crime. Naomi is just trying to do her job day in and day out but she has become to hate her job. Will she be able to convince Hawke to give up his life? Possible a life with her? Or will he just stay where he is in the slum of the docks fighting for his life every day?
I received this book free as an ARC for my honest review.
Naomi Ellis is an OT working is a hospital that is drawn towards bad boys. Jack Hawke, a cage fighter and involved in the mob, is one of her patients after winning a match he should not of. With her sister Nicola and best friend Jason a cop warning her about hooking up with another bad boy especially involved with the mob. The chemistry between Naomi and Jack is way off the charts and with Jack wanting to protect Naomi as he has never had a bond or feelings for a female before he needs to save her life before they have a chance to move forward.
I really enjoyed this story. This book has action, drama and steamy romance. Hawke is cocky, sexy undefeated cage fighter. Naomi is smart and sassy physical therapist. The attraction between Hawke and Naomi is instant and strong and the chemistry is HOT! I enjoyed the banter between Hawke and Naomi. I liked that the story was told in both POVs. Hawke and Naomi come from different worlds. Can they accept that? Can Hawke protect Naomi from the mob boss? This is my first book from this author and definitely won't be the last. This a great read and you will not be disappointed. Received copy for honest review
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*** Very gritty, raw MMA fighter Jack finds himself the victim of a 5 on 1 fight after he won a fight that lost mob man Valentino a lot of cash, even though he put up a good fight the paid thugs send him to the hospital. Naomi comes to work to find out that she has a new arrogant, egoistical hunk of an asshole client who despite his bashed in face and many other injuries still thinks he's God's gift to women, or at least for her. They clash, smart mouth to sexy one and Naomi tries to fight her strong feeling for this impossible man. I found this story to be rough and gritty and very fast paced, a good read for a bad boy series.
He is a fighter in and out of the ring. When he stands up to the wrong person, he ends up meeting her. She sees the danger but he is hard to resist. They are two people that shouldn't be right for each other but feel so good when they are together.
I really enjoyed the story. Hawke is arrogant and sexy and all the things that look dangerous. Naomi is a strong woman who fights the desires of her heart with what her head tells her is the safest course. These two have amazing chemistry.
Naomi is strong willed and despite her kind heart, she's become hardened by her job as a physical therapist. When she meets Jack, she can't believe she's stuck with yet another arrogant ass. When Jack shares a part of who he is with Naomi, she sees him for more than his outward appearance. When Naomi's sister Nic, and best friend Jason, stick their noses in, life becomes dangerous for both of them. I really enjoyed Hawke, it was rough and compassionate, and showed that every action has a reaction
Hawke is a cage fighter and when he doesn’t throw a fight a mob boss has him beaten up. Naomi is a physical therapist and Hawke is nothing but trouble for her until they got to know each other. They may have grown up in different worlds but they still have a lot in common can they find a way to make it work? I liked the story and the chemistry between the characters is steamy, I really liked it.
Interesting story. Jack and Naomi have good chemistry and there bantering is entertaining. Jason is a real piece of work. Thought this book was an interesting take on the fighter romance. It's note every day you make a connection with a patient in the hospital. Received this book for free for an honest review.
I couldn't put this book down once I began reading. It kept me engaged and wanting to know what was next around the corner. At first I wasn't quite sure what to think of Hawke, but as I was pulled into the book more I became more drawn to his character and needed to know what he would do next. Then on to Naomi and her desires. It was a constant page turner.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book. The two main characters Hawke and Naomi are great together, and I loved the banter between them. Look forward to reading more from Ashley in the future.
I received for an honest review from the author. I love Ashley's writing. Jack is in the hospital for winning a fight. Naomi is his PT and they begin opening up to each other like the have to no one else. After things get hot for the, a friend comes between them and all hell breaks loose. Love it
These two books were pretty good. A little short but good. Lots of drama in both books. In the first book he gets beat up and in the hospital he is busted up pretty bad with broken teeth and why he thinks he in sexy that way , why I don't know lol.
I loved this read. Jack is in hosp as he got beat up by 5 goons. This is were he meets Naomi. There's lots of feelings flying around. Her sister and best friend are disagreeing with how interested she is in her patient...
Naomi and Jack are the perfect couple. Deff worth a read
