Kailani and Bishop: A Case of the Exes

Rate this book
This is a re-release of B. Love's complete series, Kailani and Bishop, that was published November, 2015.

Courtney wants Kailani. Kailani wants Bishop. Bishop wants Kailani. Ashley wants Bishop.

When Kailani’s first love, Courtney, was sentenced to seven to fifteen years in prison, he did the noble thing and cut all ties with her. Courtney stopped calling, returned all of Kailani’s letters, and wouldn’t accept her visits. After trying and failing to have any type of contact with him, Kailani finally gave up. She understood that Courtney was letting her go because he loved her. He knew she didn’t deserve to do his time with him and she wasn’t built for that type of lifestyle, but that didn’t keep Kailani from resenting Courtney, holding onto him and loving him even more because of his selflessness.

After ten whole years, Kailani’s broken heart still only beats for Courtney. She has never given any other man his place in her heart and life until she meets Bishop. Over the course of a few days, Bishop makes Kailani forget any loyalty she held for Courtney and she finally decides to give a new man a chance. Bishop, however, has been keeping a secret from Kailani. Not only does he know Courtney, but he also did six years in prison with him!

When Courtney is free, Kailani is left with the ultimate case of the ex. She struggles with choosing between her first love and the man whose love makes what she had with Courtney meaningless. As if that isn’t enough to deal with on its own, she has to deal with Bishop’s crazy ex, Ashley, and her best friend’s drama along the way.

So, who will Kailani give her loyalty? Will Kailani and Bishop be able to enjoy their newfound love or will it whither and fade away as their exes fight to reclaim what used to be theirs?

Read the complete Kailani and Bishop series to find out!

What a ride!

There was so much happening but it kept the story interesting. I wanted to like Bishop, then I wanted to hate him, then love him again. I was so glad when he finally got it together. The chemistry between Kailani and Rell was interesting enough that I wanted them to explore it, but I knew that couldn't happen. Kailani was the balance Bishop needed.
The lies, betrayal, sex, and love, was enough to keep the pages turning. If you haven't read this book yet, you should.

Not a fan of this one.

I couldn’t fall for Bishop. The strength of a story’s highs have to outweigh the pain of it’s lows. Two weak characters, regardless of having great sex scenes, lead to a weak bond/connection . I was frustrated the entire way through and only finished cause I needed the closure. We didn’t actually see them develop their relationship with one another - they were just so helplessly in love that Kailani forgave him for everything and I never felt like Bishop suffered for any of his actions. Even the deaths he had to experience was more like, “This is unfortunate, but now that they’re out of the way I can get Kailani back.” I love B. Love. I Love Urban Romance. I hated this book.

The fuckery here…

Kailani and Layyah are best friends… Kai was with Courtney (a guy), and Lay was with Courtney’s cousin Mike…Courtney and Lay fuck around on Kai and Mike. Courtney goes to jail breaks up with Kai. Years later Lay is with Rell. Rell and Bishop are best friends. Now Bishop was fucking Ashley until Kai came along. Now Bishop fucking Kai. It’s insinuated that Rell is feeling Kai even though he’s with Lay, Kai’s best friend. And Kai is with Bishop, his best friend. Then Kai admits to having “feelings” for Rell. Now Courtney is out of jail and wants Kai back. But where does he show up…Lay’s house. They fuck then he gets Lay to set something up so he can see Kai. Kai goes to the restaurant supposed to be alone but Bishop goes with her. Who’s there..?? Lay and Courtney. Then it comes to head that Courtney and Bishop was in prison together. (Deep suck in and blow of my breath.) Bishop and Courtney fight. Kai leaves with Bishop. Courtney leaves with lay. Lay tells Rell she is coming over but Courtney fucks the dog shit out of her but not before blackmailing her that she better help him get Kai back or he’s telling Kai about them. Meanwhile Kai is with bishop but tells him she want to talk to Courtney. Bishop kicks her out. She goes home and Courtney is there. The messing around or whatever and who does Bishop call…Ashley. Mane if just one of them catch something (and irl they would most likely), they’d all be fucked. And that’s all imma say on this tonight…. Been commenting wayyy too much in this book anyway. But like I said, that’s how u know it’s good…

I really did try to like this book, but... I like Bishop to a degree however, he didn't deserve the HEA in this way. I am pissed that Rell ended up with a double broken heart he deserve a HEA, but not with Kai. Kai didn't boss up enough for me and her business is stale for to do that to Rell. She knew from the jump that she couldn't give Rell what he needed and deserve and she should have let well enough alone, but no she just to push at him just to turn over an give it to Bishop. If you end to Bishop that cool..but don't trying to bring a good man into your messed up itsh knowing that he was already dealing with the mess up mess your best friend did to not only him but you as well. HEA for this book went to wrong people for real. I didn't get to the last 20 or so chapters I was just too pissed.

REVIEW FOR PART 1

Since this is a 3 part book I will write 3 reviews instead if 1 long one.

I'm digging Kailani and Bishop thus far in spite of the heartbreak, betrayal and infidelity. As dope as Kai and Rell are described I am hoping they get together cause it seems Bishop is doggin her every chance he gets to himself with that dang Ashley. And Layyah, she's a hot mess been betraying her besties since high school and now still is AND her man! Yeah I know what almost happened between Kai and Rell would've been bad but so right at the same time. So glad I don't have to wait for part 2 with the way the 1st part ended I probably would have been pulling my hair out.

Interesting Crew

I had a hard time getting into the characters after they all started to be shady and sneaky. Everybody had some disloyalty and selfish behavior. I initially thought that I would like Kailani but after her situation with Rell I was looking at her different too. Everybody was confused and I didn’t trust none of them to be in a committed relationship. I guess by the end Bishop and Kailani had figured it out but geez. I am looking forward to the next addition of this crew but I hope that the main characters are a bit more like-able.

Whew!

This book was a real life rollercoaster! Every last one of these characters had you falling in love with them, hating them and at times I wanted to shoot all of them! Wow! Ok so Pros and Cons. Pro you’ll never get bored with any of the characters and the story moves quick (too quick sometimes). There’s a lot of surprises so the story never gets boring. Cons - I would’ve dropped a surprise for the readers and put these crazy ppl in a alternate relationship with each other. They all loved and wanted to be with each other. Go for it! Good crazy book!

In My Feelings

This book had me in my feelings with their confused arses! While it bounced around between the characters and their lack of loyalty and hormones it was a good book! With lessons on not reacting to your hormones or because you’re hurt, doesn’t mean you need to add heartache to someone else even if they deserve. It’s Better to heal before moving forward and making sure what you have with one person is finished first!

A past time favorite

I remember when I read this book years ago. I fell in love with Bishop crazy azz. When Rell and Kai almost did the unthinkable I was so mad at them. Ashley was just one stupid female like you really took your life over a man. Layyah really needed to get herself together cause she was all over the place.

This book kept me on an emotional roller-coaster. Bishop really took Lani through it. I thought she was done with Bishop, but I was wrong. I am so happy for them. I can't wait to read part 2. Great Read!

Damn

This was my first read by this author, and I must say I truly enjoyed the book. Love is such a complicated thing, but the love between Bishop and Lani, was a different one. I loved the description of the characters, and how she built the story. Great job

Dope read

Bishop and Kailani, the love they shared was so intense, like how life plays out they had their rocky times but, the bond they shared was always there. Real life relationship goals. I liked Terrell, he was a true friend. Lay was cool, what she did to Kailani was low, but she made up for it. Great job!

This was an excellent read!

I really enjoyed reading this story. At first Kailani wanted nothing to do with Bishop but oh did he get just what he wanted in the end! Terrell and Layyah just couldn't make it though because one she didn't hold the same level of trust and commitment and honestly he was smittened with Kailani! It was really sad how Courtney and Ashley showed their tales. In the end they met with horrible fates. I really enjoyed this story though it was raw, emotional and engaging! Great work B. Love!

When a book makes me shout Yesss! You know it's good!

This is my first read from Author B. Love & definitely will not be my last. I was enthralled from the first page. I grew a connection with Kailani and could feel her pain of wanting to be loved, that's how well developed the characters were. Extremely surprised by the exchange between Rell & her, but I loved it. Bishop .. so passionate, calm & loving. He played no games when it came to Kai and his yearning to be loved, and love her made my heart smile. I can see the poetic side of you, so I'm looking forward to your other reads. On to book 2! Great job!

Disloyal

Everyone on this book is disloyal. No one has a loyal bone in their body. Bishop was very loyal to tell, took a charge for him and how he pay him back by breaking guy code and telling kai things she shouldn't know all so he could get in her pants. Kai is disloyal and let rell play her to the left so now she is a whore in my opinion. It was already established that lay was a whore. But the author built kai up like she was this perfect check when in reality she is no better then her best friend. So they might as well stay friends since they both are disloyal whores.
