Summary (for the whole manga): A group of youths had an accident on their way back from a trip. What they hit had a human's head on a cow's body. In fear of the creature, they decided to kill it in the woods. After that incident, one by one, they were befallen a tragedy that ended their life within 7 days after seeing the creature again. The creature was later known to be a 'kudan' or youkai, a legendary creature that appears before humans to bring prophecies that soon come true.
Review: The storyline started off pretty interesting. It was something like "The Ring", where victims die after a few days. It would have been a nice manga iffff the mangaka suddenly didn't add twists that are so weird and confusing. I forced myself to finish the manga and found that the ending was ever so disappointing. I'm only giving 1.5 stars for the first few parts of the manga. I do not recommend this manga to anyone, sorry.
Synopsis: During a late night drive, 7 college students end up hitting into a large cow. Upon further inspection, the cow had the face of a man, who foretold that they would all die within 7 days. With this mysterious curse, the characters are trying to find a way to prevent their deaths and to escape fate's hand.
Review: This started off with a lot of promise. The characters were likable and their relationships were believable, the build up was natural and tense, the horror elements were subtle and creepy, but everything takes a massive nose dive after the first 2 volumes. The characters are no longer interesting or likable. The plot makes absolutely no sense. The plot twists come out of nowhere and are very poorly explained. This started off feeling like a classic horror movie like The Omen or The Ring, but it devolved into a nonsensical mess that was hard to follow.
The story started to drag out as each of the remaining five decided to follow their own path. The professor wasn't much of a help either because he was more concern about his research rather than breaking the curse. It was mostly trial and error and it did not matter if someone died. The mystery surrounding Kudan thickens as to its true purpose. Some believed it was a messenger of God whole other did not. At this point, I did not care much about the characters.
Each volume tends to give some backstory to a certain character. It is one of those mangas that work backwards. Also, some weird and horrific scenes in this volume that will definitely stay in my head for a while.
