W.H. Auden: A Commentary

This is an indispensable reference guide to the works of one of the most important poets of the twentieth century. W. H. Many of Auden's poems are obscure and in any case it can be helpful to have a guide. This is an extensive reference work, which can be dipped into as required, and the annotations and commentaries I did manage to read were not only helpful for the poem in question but also sometimes interesting in their own right.
