Cami and Brandon are beautifully awkward at times. They were besties that wanted more but were too afraid to go for it in college. Sometimes fantasies do come true; and are even better.
The two main character were friends and study buddies in college but not romantically involved. Four years later they meet on New Year's Eve and Rekindle Desire on both their parts. The book reads like it was written about a high school first crush instead of two adult professionals. The bulk of the story revolves around repetitive sex scenes that are rather immature with the dialogue of how they hurt each other in college being the main topic of most discussions.
Cambria and Brandon were college study buddies. She suffered in silence as he dated one blonde after another and often shared the PG version of his exploits with her. Brandon was completely unaware of her feelings for him in college.
Four years later they bump into each other at a New Years Eve party and Cambria really just wants to avoid him. He gives her his business card to call him and she never does, so he takes matters into his own hands by contacting Cambria's best friend Kimi. They reconnect, but for Cambria her past hurt keeps getting in the way because she refuses to accept that the older Brandon is interested in her.
The real reason she didn’t return his calls was because she was in love with him for four years. That was long enough not to have those feelings returned. She was tired of being hurt by him.
The premise doesn't quite work because the feelings that Cambria expresses about and toward Brandon are completely unjustified. He never knew how she felt about him in college, so he never intentionally hurt her, though she kept trying to convince herself he did.
This story is about friends who were in love undercover. They each assumed that they weren't compatible. Wrong! Meanwhile years later they meet again. The chemistry was explosive..characters were well developed and funny and the storyline was engaging...loved it
Two people who are are in love with each other but neither says a word out of fear. It's time to put assumptions away and let the love shine through. I'm ready for 1.5 & 2.
