ROCKING OUT

Dash Connor, lead singer of The Devil’s Share, has everything the party, the candles, the music. He’s going to ask Lexi Grant to marry him. Not that getting hitched will make any difference in how he feels about her—head over heels just about covers it—but they have a baby on the way and that little bundle of joy is going to have his last name. But, like everything that’s happened since the first day he met Lexi, his best laid plans are about to be upended. But, it’s all good—except for the trouble brewing with his bandmate.

I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 cat, and one bunny (that doesn't seem to like us). I love reading romance novels as much as I love writing them. I feel like inspiration can come from anywhere; a song lyric, a quote, a weekend with friends. The tiniest things can spark amazing stories.

Play softly

I have to admit that I was surprised at how quickly this book was released after Play Fair! I thought we would have to wait at least another 5 or 6 months!

Dash has finally decided and found the right moment to propose to the love of his life Lexi! But his unborn daughter also decides that she wants to be in on the action and decides to make an appearance four weeks early! In all that chaos, nobody stops to check on how Luke is feeling! Play softly is all about Dash & Lexi adjusting to having a newborn. But also on how Luke struggles with his feelings for Lexi finally it comes to a point where Luke has to leave, he has to try and get over his feelings. He wants to be around his family but he doesn’t want to be the mopey one. He wants to be able to see Lexi and Dash be happy and get married and also see little Halen grow up. But he doesn’t want to see it and forever wish that it were him marrying Lexi and Halen growing up to call him dad instead of Dash. With Luke leaving and the epilogue being his, gets us ready for his book, which is the next book and hopefully we will have soon.

P.s I love the baby name! I have never heard of a baby called Halen before, it is very unique!

PP.S what ever happened to Lexi’s Best friend? Luke’s Sister. She just disappeared from Lexi’s life,. Or have I forgotten something?

LOVED IT - 5 Stars are not enough!
L.P. Maxa - you are amazing - This book may be my favorite in this series and that says alot since I love them all - Childbirth was never as funny as in this book I was very tempted to drive to Destin since I am close by to hang out in the waiting room with the gang!! - Lexi I love you! Dash is just perfect and if we don't have Luke's( LOVE HIM) story like tomorrow I may pitch a Lexi size tantrum!

This was a short story or novella and I loved that it was sort of part two of book one. Dash and Lexi’s story continued. In this story Lexi and Dash become engaged and baby Halen arrives. More important Luke leaves, not forever but to find himself and his happiness. He’s been in love with Lexi forever and now that she’s had her baby and is going to marry his best friend it’s time to move on. This story made me a little sad. They were all growing up and moving into their own home- it’s a compound so they weren’t going to be far from each other. Still they had all travel together and they’d been living under the same roof for a while, things were changing. There were some really funny moments in this book, rockstars changing diapers and getting poop and vomit all over themselves. I recommend this book and now I’m looking forward to reading Luke’s story and read about his happy ending.

“But do you know how good it feels to hear your girl literally screaming in ecstasy? If you don’t, you’re not only doing something wrong, but you’re missing out.”

5 Devil’s Share Stars!! I’m seriously obsessed with this series!!

Seriously… I drop everything whenever a new Devil’s Share book comes out!! I love this band, and I really don’t think I can pick one member I like more than the other! So now about this book!!! I love Dash and Lexi, they are the perfect combination together!! And then you insert a baby into the mix and it’s utterly adorable!!! I’m obsessed with this series, this band, this author… I need more!!

OH MY GOD!!! What an emotional book, it was absolutely brilliant!!! Please be warned that you will need a box of tissues handy before you begin reading!!!
I'm not going to give away any spoilers, which is difficult with such a fantastic read... So i will just state... YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK ASAP!!!
The band are moving forward and they are all feeling the experience of finally 'growing up'. With new members adding to the family, and a heart breaking twist... What will become of The Devil's Share? With new life, comes new beginnings, but are they good or bad? What does the future hold for them all?
Another brilliant 5 star read from kickass author, LP Maxa and i truly can not wait to see what she has planned for the next in series... But one thing i do know... It's going to be a guarateed 10/10 read!!!

There are not enough stars to express my love for this novella. If you follow the stories of the rock band, The Devils Share, then you would understand if not please start reading book 1. LP Maxa has an amazing gift of putting you in the interviewers seat of this band. They a raw, unadulterated, sexy, combustible, family goodness.

The birth of Halen Grace and the way the relationship evolves for Dash and Lexi with the added bonus of Luke pulls at you heart. Who could not feel when reading chapter after chapter of the next phase in the groups life. So much has happened since going on the road, touring, and living in Seaside. It has been one surprise after another, good and bad, tears and laughter, sex and fights, but most of all there has been family solidarity and understanding. Letting go and moving on, that is what causes the reader tears. The conversations, the outburst from the heart and the lullaby worth a thousand words. I died softly, my heart broke but understood. Now what is next, I only wait.

When I saw the reviews I really doubted I would tear up much less cry, but........ Oh how wrong I was. This book has so much love, sweetness, happiness, but the sadness has to be there also for Luke to evolve for us. I can't wait to read his story. I have loved this series and very very highly recommend it. The characters have all evolved into wonderful m n and women. Laundry is so so sweet and funny. Jacks is a great daddy Bryan didn't run Smith and Dylan love more than ever and smith is happy and confident for the first time. Dash is perfect. He love Lexi and Halen completely and totally and has finally understood where Luke and Lexi stand. Yes they love each other but it's not soul changing love like his and Lexi's No I just need Luke to find his way! Can't wait to read his story.

Another homerun

Blah, blah, blah. Kinda tiring, raving about this author over and over, so anything I said before still applies. Funny, sweet, steamy and plenty of cliff hanging, but no desire to throw my tech devices, making Miz Maxa a fave author. She finishes off one story enough to fill you up on dinner, gives you a few bites of the next course and let's your meal settle just long enough til you are hungry for the next story.
Loved this little novella. I'm seriously hoping she takes this series past the honeymoon stage and we get real life and the mature relationship stuff that comes later after these women have been visited by the Gravity Fairy and the Wrinkle Bunny. The series has the potential for it.

I love this series. This one out of all of them was hilarious and emotional. I think this story and Luke's story going to be my favorite.

Play Softly is the only book that has made me cry like a baby. This novella is crucial when you read this series. All the gang is sharing their last moments living in their temporary home before they move on their compound in Austin, Tx. Another family member is added. You finally get to understand the relationship of Luke and Lexi. Landry helps more people than you know, she rooted herself deep into the circle. You just really want to be a part of this family and experience them building a strong foundation. So when you read this one be prepared to laugh a lot, and have tissues ready, you will need them.

If you are a fan of the series (which we should all be), I think this book will truly tug at your heart. It's interesting, as much as the book is supposed to be about the new member of the family, it seems like it's mostly about the dynamics between Dax, Lexi & Luke. I'm definitely not complaining though. I absolutely LOVED every single moment of it. It made me fall in love with Dax just a little more and Luke, oh sweet Luke, what a great way to lead into his story when it finally comes out. I think L.P. did a fantastic job at conveying emotions in this book, her writing is just superb. Everyone should be reading this series.

In Play Softly we get to catch up with Dash and Lexi who are finally having their baby, and the rest of The Devil’s Share gang.

I thought the 1st time parent scenes were hilarious. I was a 1st time parent, 3 years ago, and it definitely brought back those memories.

Landry seems to have a lucrative position in the house. hahaha.

I love the way The Devil’s Share gang interacts with each other.

I’m interested in seeing where they all go from here, with their compound being finished and we need need need Luke’s story.

This is the third book in the Devil Share series and it’s baby time for Dash and Lexi forcing Luke to finally face up to losing the one woman he thinks he loves.
I am an avid reader averaging at least one book a day and if that book features hot rockers I am a very happy girl and the boys of The Devil Share tick all my boxes.
I loved this book it was sweet, hot and funny and set us up nicely for Luke’s book.

Perfect little story !!!!

This is just the story you need to help you catch up with the band. Lexi and Dash have their baby and you get to see the effect it has on the entire band especially Luke. I have read 400 page books that were not packed with so much interest and heart. My only co complaint is I have to wait for Luke's story to come out. Ms Maxa you should give classes on how to write the perfect novella.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. I've written the same thing for each of the stories so far but its the truth. It's honestly one of my favourite series I've ever read and it only keeps getting better with each book. I'm seriously invested in the lives of these characters now and i feel like I'm apart of the D/S family. Play softly seriously pulls at your heart strings and you definitely need to get the tissues ready for this one. Can't wait to read on for Luke's story next!

Omg I cried a river

Luke has been one of my favorites from the beginning! I can't say much without ruining the book for other readers, but Luke's book can't come fast enough for me!!!

Between Landry & Lexi's sweet goofy precocious goodness & The boys back & fourth jibes this book even though it's a shortly, still was v very entertaining...

I loved this sweet novella in the Devil’s Share series. It concentrates on the birth of Lexi and Dash’s baby and how their “family” adapts not only to the newness of having a baby in the house, but also dealing with moving into their new houses separately. This book was hilarious, sweet and also made me cry. I can’t wait for Luke’s story.
