Enjoyed reading Lars & Tamara's story. I declare Lars kept me all tensed up with his risky antics, lol....he's determined to defy but so glad he found/recognizes his mate. Tamara is in way over her head in her act of vengeance when she bumps into Lars. With drug goons chasing their every move they test their fight/flight options as they try to escape to safety. Action-packed with lots of hot love scenes too!! ;)

Tamara & Lars's story is full of excitement, danger & loving. Tamara is a brave cat Shifter who sets out to avenge her sister's murder. Lars is there to take care of the same person. Has Lars found the one to fill his lonely life? I loved listening to Gregory Salinas narrating. He had a very sexy accent for Lars.

WOW... What a wonderful read!!! Oh and you may find that you have a huge crush on Lars by the time you get to the end of the book... I certainly have!!!
He's a cocky ladies man who thinks he can get a woman easy!
Without spoiling the story I will just say that this book is a brilliant journey to teach you how when feelings grow it can change everything!
With a few twists that keep you reading, and certain scenes that will leave you compleately breathless... It's another 5 star read from Ann Gimpel!... I'm excited to find out what it is that she has planned next. I know for sure that's it's going to be hot and entertaining! I love how she builds world's, her character development and the storyline itself, this story also has a great depth to it. I loved the main characters and that we visit with Garen and Miranda. My one most favorite part that I love to see in shifters is the ability to want to always protector their mate and the way in which the human & animal sides converse, interact, their different personalities and how they co-exist together! This is FANTASTICALLY! This is book by I was very much enthralled with ALL of it! The love that was flowing between Lars and Tamar is very tender & beautiful, everything was sweet and not too 'over-the-top' for me. In fact I love paranormal romance! I am very impressed with story-telling, content & how captivating this story is, so I CANNOT wait to read more of books! It's obvious to me that she has a truly TERRIFIC amount of talent and after you read this story, I think you will agree!!

He inhaled, trying to sort scents, but there were too many to make sense of. He could leave, just walk away like Garen had almost ordered him to, but Lars had never been a coward, and he was more intrigued than frightened. He’d spent years worming his way out of dicey situations. This was just one more, and he was _ if he’d walk away from his things. Not unless he had to. He took a deep breath, tugged his guaranteed-not-to-set-off-metal-detectors .32 caliber revolver from its ankle holster, and shoved the key card into the slot in the door. A tiny electric motor hummed before the deadbolt snicked out of the way. He turned the latch, kicked the door open, and pivoted from side to side, scanning the sitting room of his suite, gun at the ready. Lars waited in the doorway, barely breathing, and then he heard a muted click, followed by an unmistakable whirr, and knew. A bomb. He cursed in German, not knowing if he was more annoyed with the turn of events or with himself for not taking Garen’s advice and getting the hell out of there.
Amazed that airport security hadn’t stormed them yet, he yanked open one of the back doors, intent on finding out if the woman had met the driver’s fate—and heard a soft sob. “Come on. It will be all right.” He kept his voice, low, soothing. “Give me your hand, and let me get you out of here.” She raised her face from her trembling hands. Shock raced through him. It was her. The woman from the casino who’d been with Jaret Chen. What in the name of God was she doing here at the airport by herself, with a dead taxi driver? There were only a couple of answers that fit, and Lars didn’t care for either of them. Suddenly, Garen’s congratulations took on a whole new meaning. Chen must be dead, and Lars might be looking at the woman who’d done it. “Come on,” he repeated. “We need to get you out of here.” He closed a hand over her arm and dragged her from the taxi. She reached back inside and came up with a smallish suitcase and a shoulder bag. “Who are you?” Her eyes were so wide with fear, only a small rim of blue showed around dilated pupils. This is a Must Read. There is lots of romance and it's Scorching HOT, You don't want to miss this book! Espionage and taking down bad people is a hard job but someone has to do it. In Monte Carlo an evil man had to die, Lars is all set to do the man in when he gets the call his cover has been blown.
As soon as he gets to the airport a cab jumps the curb, the cabbie has been shot dead but the women in back is not and it's the same one he had seen earlier with his mark. The women he couldn't keep his eyes off. Acting on his gut he takes the women with him to his plane to get her to safety
Jaret Chen had to die, he had killed her sister or at the least ordered it. Problem was she was not a killer but she had taken him out now she was running for her life. In her run she ran right into Lars protection. Good thing too, it's the only thing keeping her alive.
The action on this is a 10! The characters are fantastic, the story is a hot mix of spice and suspense. It's not to be missed. Lars is like a German james bond who can shift into a big cat! I loved it truly amazing. There is so much to this mystery, suspense and shifters wow!
Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it.

This was great to find out about Lars side of the story. What a great job of bringing these places to life. It brought another level to the story to be able to "see" where they were. I love how the tension builds and keeps you on the edge of your seat and then brings it all to fruition. Have truly enjoyed reading this.
Lars has a job to do and he is waiting for the perfect time. Then he receives a call from his partner telling him to get out now. Something is wrong. Now he has to get back home and see what to do next. Except now he is on the run and playing things as they come. Tamara is going to take care of the person who killed her sister. She hasn't planned any farther than that. Now things have gone from bad to worse. They meet by chance and he figures out that she has done his job for him, now they both have to stay alive. Just to add one more twist Lars has to find out if Tamara is what he thinks she is...a shifter like him. Now if they can trust each other enough to find out and find out where this extreme attraction can go.
A great fast paced story that will keep you going to the end.

This book is the second book in the Rubicon International series. I have read multiple books from this author, including the first book in this series, and I was not disappointed in this book. This is a standalone. And no cliffhanger at the end though it is open-ended for future books. There is violence and hot steamy shifter sex. Definitely 18+.
The author packed a lot of emotion and action into this read and this story moves fast. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author does a good job describing the background of the company which is the basis of the series (which helps if you didn't read Book #1), the main characters Lars and Tamara, and why they are on the run.
I really enjoyed this story. I look forward to reading more of Ann Gimpel's books and the next book in this series once it's released. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review though I would have purchased this if I had not.

What a great follow-up on Garen, book 1 of Rubicon International!! I thought I was in love with Garen but Lars is even better. A lonely shifter who has given up on love, he spends his time doing dangerous missions for his company. Little did he know what fate had in store. As in Garen, Ann makes these characters come to life and feel like old friends. Each character is put together painstakingly carefully and the result is seamless. The story is full of danger, love and mystery. The beautiful Tamara makes a wonderful heroine for Lars. Surprises abound and the world of Rubicon International starts to become more solidified. The more we learn, the more there is to learn. That is why I cannot wait for the next book. Ann Gimpel knows how to write!! I am a fan forever. She has joined the ranks of half dozen authors that I will buy each and every time a new book comes out. I know the quality will be there every single time. Please to yourself a favor and get started on this new series. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I enjoyed the second book in the Rubicon International series. It mixes hot, paranormal men and women with the intriguing career of spies. They risk their lives to terminate those who cause harm to others. The series started with Garen who is Lars' partner in the business. They have worked together for centuries with Lars taking Europe and Garen in America.
Lars is a sexy cat shifter and does remind you of James Bond. He is very cool and sophisticated. When he meets Tamara, he is determined to help her. She is trying to get payback for her sister but she is not a killer by nature. There is plenty of action and romance packed into the book. This book is a complete story and leaves you hoping for a third edition as well to the series.
I recommend the series and the other paranormal books by the author. She really delivers intriguing stories and complex characters that are different from the norm in the paranormal romance genre.

These stories about Rubicon International are full of intrigue, surprises, and shifters working to make the world better by getting rid of drug cartels, arms dealers, and other dregs of society. Lars, amountain lion shifter, is one of the two founders of Rubicon, and while on a mission, meets Tamara, another mountain lion shifter, who killed a heroin dealer in revenge for the murder of her sister. She killed the same man Lars was sent to kill. When his cover is blown, and the drug cartel targets Tamara, they must trust each other, and be honest about who and what they are to stay alive. Tamara was a photojournalist, living a normal life when she is drawn into the life of espionage by her sister's murder. Lars had given up hope on ever finding his mate until he meets Tamara. The romance between these two is hot, and wild.

This was a sit on the edge of your seat type of read. It starts out pretty fast paced and keeps it going to the end. Well written and takes you to the places in the story with some great detail. I loved the mix of old and new with this couple. Lars comes from a time where things were different and he has moved to current times but he still has his old world charm. Tamara is younger but comes from an old world family so their values are a lot alike. Now if they can get past the fact that they are each hiding things from each other and keep ahead of the people trying to kill them, they may have a chance to find out.
Great book and can't wait for more from Ann Gimpel.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Lars is book 2 in the Rubicon series. Often times when people are faced with a life or death situation they tend to cling to each and form a bond and it seems a similar scenario is played out in this book even though one is a trained assassin. The author did a wonderful job of providing back stories for both characters and setting up the plot. Tamara has some “weak” moments, but overall is a very strong, well developed heroine with sincere motivators. Lars provides the perfect masculine, but swoon worthy hero. Bravo to Ms. Gimpel for turning out yet another masterpiece.

Absolutely loved it!! Action packed, full of romance, with sensual and sexy scenes that will have you wiping your brow and on the edge of your seat. She's avenging her sister's death but gets herself in more trouble than her irish charm can get her out of. He's supposed to take out a target but finds its already done. He gets ready to go home but meets her in the midst of her troubles and finds her compelling. Can he protect her?. Can he convince her to let him protect her? I could not put this book down!!. I can't wait for the next one!

This is the second book in the Rubicon series and I have to say I loved Lars and Tamara's story more than Garen's !! Talk about action packed !! Murder for the Revenge of her sister ? Blown covers, dead cabbies, as well as both of them being big cat shifters who don't know each other at all but have to trust each other to get home safe, and if Lars has his way Tamara's new home will be with him permanently!! So good, each book of Ann Gimpel's I read, no matter which genre, has the best action, hot romances, and characters of most other authors I read. 5☆'s, and can't wait for book 3. Lars is on a mission when he gets a call to head home. Pleasantly surprised to find out someone has completed his assignment for him, he heads back. But things don't go as planned. He runs into and saves a lovely woman, Tamara. She has several secrets of her own but they are totally drawn to each other.
I love these two, especially the almost fight in the cockpit when they both end up speaking something other than English and can't understand one another. Looking forward to read more from RI if/when Ann Gimpel goes back to this world.

Book 2 in the Rubicon International this series just gets better! Irish Shifter Tamara MacBride has killed her sister’s murderer but she is not safe yet someone just killed her cab driver! Lars Kinsvogel’s target has been killed by another as he is about to board his plane Tamara’s cab jumps the curb, he rescues Tamara . Why was the driver killed? Who is after Tamara? Received this book free for an honest review. Lars, Book 2 in the Rubicon International series, is a seamless continuation of action-packed thrills, romance and adventure. I loved this pace of this book and that the author gives you a choice on whether you'd require background information or not to continue reading. It's dangerous, funny and steaming hot! I look forward to future books in this series.

This is the second book in the Rubicon International series. Characters are written that they flow well with each other. Lars has given up on that special someone in his life. He takes on some high risk mission until he meets Tamara. When Tamara goes after the person that killed her sister and destroy Lars cover. The action and suspense with these two will keep you on the edge of your seat. Can Lars finally find some happiness in his dark world? Highly recommend this book

February 5, 2017Great book though this is Forever and a Day (Company Store #2) just with a new cover, new series title & under a new title. I would have liked this to have new stuff added.
