A very hot read! The story's all about sex but I'll tell you, it's so good! It's a short one and I enjoyed every minute of it.
It's about Luke and Emma.

This story was very steamy, the language ridiculously filthy, and the first erotic scene between Luke and Emma takes place in the Professor's classroom. Enough said, right?!
Yeah, it irked me that Emma referred to her vagina as "she" or "her" and Luke referred to his penis as "he" or "him." Those references are made alot throughout this short story and although that didn't work for me, the little plot twist at the end was super sweet and explained those awkward references (not to mention that awkward petname given to Emma) that the main characters used to describe their anatomy. Overall, this was a great, fantasy-based read with an awesome epilogue. Great for a quick read!

I tagged this under "questionable virgin hero" for a reason. Ok so when I was reading it, we know the heroine is a virgin, and it appears that the hero is very experienced BUT when we get to the end, the math doesn't work out and there is a bit that confused me, so I thought of only one explanation.
It my thinking that the whole story is a sex game between the H & h. I say this because the hero is 25 years old. The epilogue is 5 years later making him 30. It is said in the epilogue that they knew and loved each other for half their life which would mean he was 15 years old when they met.
It is also said they met in High school at a football game, when in this book we are led to believe they just met in a college classroom. Thus my reasoning that their sexual tryst was all a game. I could be wrong, but this is how I interpreted it.
It also seems that this author enjoys surprising the reader with the hero's virginity. Not revealing it until the end. This has happened in the other two books I've read of hers.
So I did not tag this as a virgin hero read because there is no real confirmation, only my deduction.
With that out of the way...I'd like to mention this is more of a hard core read with the epilogue finally giving the reader the missing tenderness and love I personally crave in a "romance."
I would recommend this to other who enjoy authors like Alexa Riley.

This was a fun short and smutty read. I liked the twist at the end and found that I liked the story as a whole a lot more after that revelation. I loved the epilogue, too - super sweet!
What I couldn't get into? ... When Luke refers to his dick like it's a separate entity:

Well, that was confusing as hell 😅 Was Luke really Emma's professor or the first half of the book was just a freaking role play? 🤔
Anyway, the first half had me laughing with their antics but then when they finally did the deed in the classroom I felt disappointed with the way how aggressive he took her v-card. He said she wants it hard (the impression he got from her) but the truth was, he took her that way because he was not a gentleman (his words) Idk, for some reason this made me a little uneasy and annoyed. 🤷♀️
Also the last chapter had me so confused, are they the same age? Was the student/professor some role play or kink? And that she was not really a v-card holder? Because he said this line: "So you remember our freshman year? After we first met at the football game?" So I'm not sure anymore what the heck happened in this novella..😂

In the words of Professor Luke Faraday, this was a "romance with a kinky twist." This's is the second book I've read by Kat Austen - another quick, smutty, HOT read.
Emma has a crush on her professor, Luke Faraday. One night while out partying, she crossed paths with him and they even kissed, but since that night he has completely ignored her, even in class. Well, she's tired of it and decides to wait around after class to talk to him about it. Little did she know that Professor Faraday has feelings for her too. He's been able to hold them back so far, but when she begins unbuttoning her shirt in order to get his attention, well he's decided it's time to claim what's his. And Emma is definitely his.
"You've toyed with me long enough, Emma. It's time to pay up."

Educating Emma by Kat Austen. My fourth buddy-read with Aileene, my fellow Australian Goodreads friend. So far we have not been too fortunate with our chosen books. Both of my previous horror selections - The Secret of Crickley Hall (James Herbert) and Legion (William Peter Blatty) – turned out mostly disappointing. Credit to Aileen in selecting Priest by Sierra Simone, because so far I must say that was the best thing we have read. And that, like this one, was trashy smut in its purest sense.
Educating Emma was more like a short story. At approximately 167 mobile screen pages, it is smaller than my erection. Pretty much this whole story is just one dragged-out sex scene between a skanky college girl and a horny, predatorial college professor. It is just so overstuffed with what I assume are smut clichés. The characters are so weak I struggle to recall their names. The guy shares my first name, but all the same I keep forgetting. Let’s just call him Penis Man. The douchebag talks more than he fucks. He acts like a monster, barely restrained, referring to his penis as a separate entity not unto himself. He refers to his penis in the third person. He keeps saying to the reader that Emma would run away if she knew what he has in store for her.
Like what? Your bark is worse than your bite mate. All he does is have sex with her in several relatively common positions. You’ve got your doggy styles, 69’s, aural sexes, spankings, biting etc. Nothing I found too profoundly shocking. And yet I found the sex less tasteful and, to be honest, kind of gross in this book simply as the writing is so ugly. Lines like “his precum trickles down throat as he fucked my mouth with yours slippery shaft" stood out to me, not just for their absence of acceptable spelling, gramma or consistent tense, but mostly for the fact that I feel absolutely nothing for either of these caricatures except annoyance and disgust.
Now I feel Sierra Simone pushed the envelope in Priest, but she had at least passable characters and story to back it up. There is no pretence of wanting to tell a story here. It’s like jumping into the mind of horny soccer mum as she masturbates. One overlong sexual encounter plus a ridiculous epilogue that fails to stimulate anything but my impatience is just not satisfying, surely even for most readers besotted with this genre.
The sex was not hot but boring. The characters were non-existent. The “twist” – and I use quotation marks deliberately there – is ludicrous and inconsistent. Bull-fucking-shit this self-identifying “cockslut” retained her virginity all through high school. She does not belong in university studying Biology, and Prof. Penis Man does not belong on that podium teaching it. Give me a goddamned break. Both of you back to the sleazy underworld of free Google pornos now.
On a sidenote however, no hard feelings, please, Aileene. I still enjoyed reading and disliking this. It’s all part of the fun. Till next time :)
