Jamie Keller and Ford Kendrick were young and in love and just waiting for the right time to leave their hometown and start somewhere fresh and their new life together. But then Ford had his love for his family who needed him and he knew he couldn't leave now. Jamie he knew needed to leave especially away from her toxic mother who demeaned her constantly. He let her go and he regretted it. Now its been years and Jamie has returned, only his 'firefly' is gone and in her place a woman so lost and tortured it kills him. He knows he must find a way to find her again even just to make her smile and laugh and find joy in life. Jamie left the town and never looked back and her only regret was losing Ford and she never forgot him. But when her convoy was attacked and so many of her friends were killed, but her mind and her body were damaged and she doesn't know how she can even live day to day. But then Ford comes back in her life, forcing her to live, just one day at a time, and before she realizes it she is starting to feel more free and like her old self than ever before. But her past and a enemy she doesn't see coming seeks to ruin her happiness...
Plot and Story Line
Another fabulous addition to a wonderful and heartwarming series. Jennifer Ryan did such a tremendous job with this one and I really liked seeing the whole military PTSD side to the story. We have our heroine who has not had a good time of it in her life. She has a sweet and gentle spirit. In the beginning, we see what she was like before she joined the military. Even though she suffers from lack of self esteem. Her mother is quite horrid and demeans her all the time. But her relationship with Ford is what keeps her grounded. But then we see that Ford has to make a difficult choice, part of it due to his loyalty and love for his family who needs him to stay. But he also knows that Jamie can't stay and that it isn't the right time for them. Now Jamie is back and not at all like the girl he fell in love with. Jamie has suffered a horrific attack, all but one of her friends were killed. She suffered three bullet wounds and intense scarring on her back from being burned. She is suffering from PTSD, and tends to not always not reality from dreams of the attack. But then this is what made me fall in love with the story...our hero is just amazing here. I honestly fell in love with him so hard. He is so wonderful with Jamie. He is patient, understanding and kind. Jamie has a bit of a hard shell at times, but he doesn't let it bother him because he knows its not his Jamie. We see how Jamie starts to come back into herself, working along side with Ford on his ranch and slowly spending time with people and seeing Jamie and Ford reconnect was quite heartwarming and sweet.

Coffee Dates with His Cowboy Heart

First Date: We are introduced to Jamie Keller who has been discharged from the Army due to injuries. She is suffering from PTSD after an IED attack overseas. She has some memory loss regarding the assault and is in therapy. The military is awaiting her formal statement before closing their report on the attack. She is not in a good way, sleeps with her gun and has had some episodes that have her waking up firing. Eep! We learn about Jamie's life in Montana and her reasons for leaving and joining the Army. I quickly found myself emotionally connected. Ford Kendrick was her sweetheart before leaving. With the ranch in trouble, and Jamie's situation he pushed her to go by breaking her heart. A town parade and an encounter at a local eatery have Ford vying for a second chance, but Jamie has a lot of mending to do.

Second Date: Yikes, this second date was downright dangerous! Ryan doesn't make it easy for Ford, and I was all in. Ford is such a sweetie!  He is one of the good guys. I like a man who knows when he is wrong, protects those he cares about and is willing to go slow. Ryan impressed me with her knowledge of PTSD and Jamie's story will touch your heart. From therapists to Ford's tenderness I quickly fell for this couple and was eager for an HEA. The author wove in a suspense angle while touching on something that happens during war,  perhaps more often than we would like to think.

Third Date: I enjoyed seeing this couple begin to trust and watching Jamie slowly regain control of her life. Her memories are beginning to come back and with them setbacks. Her comrade appears, and it pushes her memories to the surface. This causes conflict and drives the suspense to a head. Something happened that threatens the couple's chance at happiness and had me anxious. I appreciated the mature way Ryan had her characters handle it. A character I love from the series is in trouble and had me nervous. This third date put me through the ringer emotionally. One minute I was laughing and the next near tears. Grab some truffles!

Ford Kendrick thought he was doing the right thing when he made it so Jamie Keller could leave their small town. She had to leave. A verbally abusive mother. She needed a new start, even if in giving it to her he had to break her heart and his own. Unable to leave at the time, he knew she had too. He could only hope that one day she came home to him.

Jaimie is back in town, years later, A former soldier, injured, in pain, suffering PTSD. Her life is in shambles. Her mother is still vile. Her brother has a kid no one explains. Soon her biggest fear will happen. Seeing the boy who broke her heart and him seeing what she has become. A disfigured, loony.

What Ford sees breaks his heart. He won't give up on her this time. He will push his way into her life. Give her the help and support she needs to battle the demons that only she sees. Each day he sees the old Jaimie reconnect with the strong new Jaimie she became but when memories and secrets of her last tour fighting a war emerge her sanity and safety are at risk.

Together they will need to fight for her, for him, for them.

5 Stars to His Cowboy Heart (Montana Men #6) by Jennifer Ryan.

Ford and Jamie.......

After reading the blurb, I've been waiting for Ford's story with eagerness and anxiety, as well as anticipation. In this installment of the Montana Men is the story of Ford Kendrick and Jamie Keller.

These two were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways due to circumstances that were cruelly fated to them.

Jamie leaves town devastated and Ford dutifully remains behind. By choice. A choice he regrets. Years later when more unforeseen circumstances bring them face to face, old feelings and regrets come to the forefront.

Ford Never stopped loving Jamie. He lived every day with sadness and regret that he let her leave. His regret turns into guilt and shock once he sees how Jamie is hurting. Jamie is returning home a wounded VET. Sadly, she is not the same sassy, independent girl she was before she left. Jamie is hurting physically and emotionally. Her pain is inside as well as outside. Her grief and nightmares are controlling her life to the point she is losing touch with reality. My heart really went out to Jamie. The author does an amazing job of detailing Jamie's anguish and effects of PTSD as a result of her traumatic experience overseas.

This book is a romance. But it is also about forgiveness and second chances. It is also about emotional healing. There is a suspense aspect that is a little predictable. However, I want to add that that situation had some instances that did surprise me. I was heartbroken for everyone involved and how certain situations played out.

Ford will not only have to work overtime to win back his girl. He will have to take on her demons to save her from herself and another element of danger. Ford's love was so strong for Jamie. He would do anything for her. He wanted nothing more than a future with Jamie. I though Ford was an amazing hero.

I have loved each and every Jennifer Ryan novel I have read. She has a true talent with romantic suspense. I always look forward to reading more from her. Jennifer Ryan is a one-click author for me.

This is my honest and unbiased review.

I have read many books where the male lead is the one coming back from a war and suffering from PTSD. Yet, I rarely read about the female lead being the war hero. That is what drew me to pick up this book and read it. I will tell you I read in one day. Yes, this book is a one day read! His Cowboy Heart took me on an emotional roller coaster with great characters!

I loved both Ford and Jamie. The sweet nickname that Ford has for Jamie, I could not help but melt at the love behind it. The nickname is "Firefly". In addition, I just loved how Ford did not push Jamie to heal quicker and acknowledged both her physical and emotional scars. He was not turned off by either of them.

Author, Jennifer Ryan did a wonderful job of not shying away from the topic of PTSD in this book. She brought the subject matter to the front which I appreciated. PTSD is real and people need to be aware of PTSD. As the author highlights in this book, it does not just affect the person (Jamie) but all of those around the person as well (Ford). The first time that Ford and Jamie made love, I had a smile on my face. Because, they were meant for each other and I could see Jamie starting to let her guard down.

My heart broke about hundred times while I was reading this story. The torture, the agony, and the pain Jamie Keller lives with, the PTSD she has, was written with such authentic, intense, real way, I felt the raw pain, both physical and mental, of the anguish Jamie lived with. The distress of her soul was enormous, as she seemed lost inside of her terrifying memories.
Ford's presence was the only thing that could pull her out of the living nightmares, just a word or a gentle touch pull her out of the past, and calmed her mind for the moment.
As many times as my heart broke for Jamie through the story, as many times it was mended as well because of the love Ford had for her. The devotion, caring and protection Ford give to her was amazing. I absolutely adored Jamie and Ford together. The sweetness, the tenderness, the chemistry, the connection between them was wonderful and delightful. There were so many emotions in scenes with them, it just took my breath away.
It was easy to love both Jamie and Ford, to relate to them, to wish them well. They don't dwell on their past mistakes with their relationship, the decisions they made at the young age, but clear the air and move on. Both of their characters proclaimed all that is good, decent, and admirable in human beings, the kindness, caring, gentleness of their souls, and the big hearts to help others, the need for a family, and the support for their friends.
The fact that Jamie can't remember the last moments of the battle that changed her life brings another kind of tension and danger to the tale. There are reasons why the army wants her account of the events, and there are reasons why the only other surviving team member is willing to do anything for Jamie to forget it for good.
The year of their lives the story shows us, the struggles, the growth, the change, the development of their relationship, and the healing of both body and soul is a touching, gut-wrenching, and beautiful tale. It pulled all the emotions from me as I was reading it, and I couldn't put it down until I was at the end, then reluctant to let them go. Definitely a story that will give you the book-hangover, a tale where your mind lingers for a long time after finishing it

Jamie was one tough cookie. I’m glad heroines are becoming more complex and heroes take a back seat for awhile. It does show how close to the edge people with PTSD can be. I would like to read a story about the guy we met at the end.

Oh Ford, how do I love the…way you look out for Jamie, the way you selfishly let her go so she could make a better life for herself, the way you’ve remained dedicated to her throughout the years, and the way you stepped up without hesitation when she returned and needed you.
Ford, like the other Kendrick brothers, is swoon-worthy. His Firefly (his nickname for Jamie) has always owned his heart, and he has no problem letting it be known. She’s suffering from PTSD, which results in some rather radical behavior, but she’s still the same to him. He sees past her demons and loves her unconditionally. She knows she has issues, and she doesn’t want Ford to see her in her current state; but her feelings for him are too strong to permanently push him away. Holding strong, he’s by her side every chance he gets and he makes time to be there for her. She becomes his number one obligation. True to their family’s nature, his brothers, their wives, and Grandpa are right there in full support. I absolutely love this family.
I didn’t care for Jamie’s mother at all. My heart went out to Jamie and Ford and all they’d sacrificed for those they loved. It’s a true testament to real love, and I rooted for them the whole way. I liked the way Ford announces his presence so he doesn’t startle her. He’s so kind and patient. Jamie’s just as loyal, dedicated, and in love with him as he is with her, and that love was the push she needed to get better. She wanted that life they’d always talked about, and I admired the way she threw all her energy into getting better. She didn’t just concentrate on herself though. She always had Ford and his well-being in the front of her mind, and she made efforts to give to him as well. I just love them.
It’s always a pleasure to catch up with past characters. Rory and Sadie, Colt and Luna, Dane and Belle, and all the other Montana Men and their women. And let’s not forget Grandpa Sammy. Such a character (no pun intended ). I love the interactions between the brothers. The sexual tension between the couples can choke a few horses, and we romance lovers know how much fun that adds to the story.
As in Ryan fashion, there’s a mystery to solve. I did figure it out, but that took nothing away from the story itself. What I love most is watching it all unfold.
I want more!

Reviewed for Romancing the Readers Blog:
http://romancingthereaders.blogspot.c...

His Cowboy Heart is a very hard book to read for many reasons. It's a mix and neglect from a parent, and PTSD. We also have to throw in lost love, not from death, but no easier to lose. As always, Ryan writes such emotionally intense stories. She writes some of the best hero's. They are always there for the heroine, ready to protect them and cherish them. You won't be able to read a story by her and not feel your heart sigh.

Your heart will break for Jamie. She's not only a hero, she's also a mentally abused child. She went from the frying pan into the pot. From abuse to war. She really needed someone there for her. That's someone is Ford. You won't be able to not love Ford for the way he takes care of her. She needs someone like Ford to help her assimilate to being home after being overseas.

Ford is the perfect man. Okay, no ones totally perfect, but he's close. Not only does he love her, it's just in his make-up to help someone. Of course that same make-up is also why she left without him in the first place. He wanted more for her.

Usually in Ryan's stories the mystery is very strong, not so much in His Cowboy Heart. In this one you'll have more of Jamie's emotions and her relationship with the people around her. I really liked that. The story needed to be emotionally driven. It's wasn't easy for the characters or the readers.

As always, a story by Ryan is a wonderful story! I really enjoyed it and can't wait for more.

“I won’t walk away this time. I won’t send you away. I won’t let you go. I promise.”

*Swoon* Oh, my heart is somewhere between melted like a puddle and happy-smiling-bouncing. Because Ford Kendrick, y'all.

Wait, no. Because Montana cowboys, y'all.

I've loved each and every book in Jennifer Ryan’s Montana Men series—I swear, they get better, or I get more attached, with each new installment—and there's a good reason why.

Unbreakable, passionate romance.

His Cowboy Heart is a sweet, sexy and compelling second chance romance—one that goes much deeper than you might first expect. Ms. Ryan doesn't shy away from making her heroine damaged, scarred, troubled but ultimately, someone who is easy to root for. And she gives us Ford, a constant, strong and determined cowboy. He wants his girl back. She wants her life back. Together, they're just…

Guys, they're so right together. And despite the heartbreak, the pain, the ups-and-downs, the tenuous connection they share strengthens with every page, and it just made me so damn happy. Even though they're not perfect, even though things happened to make me ache, I was happy reading this book.

His Cowboy Heart is suspenseful—a mystery that might seem obvious, yet is still surprising—and smart. It has Colt and Luna, Rory and Sadie, Dane and Bell, which, if you've read the other books in the series, will be a treat. And if you haven't? No matter. But be warned, it might make your one-click finger itchy.

And it has love. Fairytale, #RelationshipGoals, imperfect love.

So, yeah, I adore this series because I know that am going to get a couple like Jamie and Ford. A couple who have to fight for what they want, but do it together. A couple whose passion and intensity and love make my heart melt and my whole self just… *swoon*.

“Every time I see you, I catch my breath, my heart beats faster, and all I want to do is touch you, taste your lips on mine, and feel your hands move over me.”

I really struggled with this book. It wasn't terrible, it was still a decent read and one I'll definitely remember (not too often you get a female vet with PTSD as the heroine). But it was an incredibly depressing/heavy read and the romance seemed to take a back seat to the problems that Jamie was working through.

Don't get me wrong, hearing a vet struggle with survivor's guilt, injuries and self-worth, among other things, are really heartbreaking. I have a lot of respect for our vets and want them to get all the help they need if they are struggling with PTSD or injuries. I guess I just wasn't in the right state of mind to read this book (I listened to the audio version) and can't give this more than 3 stars.

I liked Ford, but he was an unmemorable character. He was sweet, handsome and loved his family. But there was nothing remarkable about him. Jaime was certainly memorable.

On top of the PTSD and healing issues, we had the suspense I expected. Things were happening on Ford's ranch, Jamie kept thinking someone was watching her, etc. But it was way too predictable as to who the bad guy was. So even that didn't keep me interested.

The series hasn't been too bad, in fact I gave the last book 5 stars, so I think it was either a 'it's me, not you' issue with this one or the subject matter was too heavy for a romance novel.

I fell in love with this series! I enjoyed the *spicy* romance, but also enjoyed the suspense in the series. I was able to have a feel-good novel that I knew how it was going to end (the guy gets the girl), but I was also able to play detective and try to figure out how the bad guy is the bad guy. I couldn't get enough of this series, and I want more!
I started reading Jennifer Ryan's Montana Men series because I needed a break from my go to mystery/thriller genre I typically read. Enter the first novel, "At Wolf Ranch" that was the closest to me on my bookshelf. I read it in a day and was excited to read the rest of the series. I read all the books in about 2 days' time; I ate them up! I had to pause this series so I could read my book club book, and I was starting to have withdrawals (our book club book was heavy) and needed a quick read that made me feel good. So I picked up the fifth book of this series and read that one and the last one within 4 days.
Jennifer Ryan is such a good author, knows how to keep the reader's attention and she doesn't flood her novels with the adult tango happening on every other page. I feel like I set the bar high on Romantic Suspense authors to read starting with Ryan, but I guess we'll find out! There are more books by Ryan that I need to read before I move on!

I thought I had taken enough of a break from Jennifer Ryan books that maybe I would enjoy this one a bit more than the last few.

I was wrong.

And it's upsetting because at face value, and a couple chapters in even, I was really enjoying it! I thought that Jamie was going to be a great character, and that her scars (both inside and outside) would bring a lot of new elements to the table. I was expecting her to be tough and ballsy and not the typical "tiny feet" JR heroine.

Turns out that every girl just needs a cowboy.

Ford felt ridiculously one dimensional and ultimately, he was TOO perfect. He was too timid and too patient and just too independent. I feel like we never got to know him. Even the ONE time that he got upset with her, he was quick to apologize and rush to work it out with her.

Jamie, while still suffering setbacks, recovered so fast it made my head spin. Her issues with her mom were worked out in one paragraph (not to make everything perfect, just enough to tell mommy dearest off)

The "bad guy" was no mystery, there was nothing to figure out in the book since everything was crystal clear, cut and dry, no hmmmmm-ing about it.

Ultimately, I found this book to be a lot of fluff and no real substance.

Hoo boy! This one hit me close to home. I’ve read plenty of contemporary romance that touch on PTSD and former military characters. Seldom is the character female, and almost never is the issue dealt with in this much depth. So be warned, this book has a LOT of triggers if you are current or former military. As much as I really love the story, there are just some people it could be too painful for.

There are a lot of aspects of this story that you know. You know Ford will not be easily deterred. You know (to a certain extent) what happened to Jamie overseas. You know (again, to a certain extent) what Jamie cannot remember. None of that matters. Jennifer Ryan does a beautiful job of getting the reader to want to see it all play out.

One of the wonderful things about this story is how much time we get to see Ford and Jamie where it’s just the two of them. I’d say about 50% of the book it’s just those two with nobody else around. That can go horribly wrong and I’ve read books where it has gone awry. Due to Jamie’s issues and Ford’s personality, it really works here.

The word bitch was coined to describe Jamie’s bitter, spoiled, taunting mother. Working on her second husband she treats her daughter with contempt and lack of feeling. She reminds me of the domineering wasp-tonged adder who hung over her son’s life in Never a Hero, a book I just finished.

Ford, the middle brother of the Kendrick clan, took over his sister-in-law’s ranch when she married his brother. In this romance he becomes the boy she left behind her. Not that anyone could blame her for escaping her mother’s clutches but military service has left her with visible and invisible scars; and regrets.

When Tobin appears on the scene it becomes difficult to tell whether it’s he or Ford talking. Tobin’s arrival re-ignites Jame’s PSTD and completes a possible love triangle. Is he just friend and fellow soldier or lover and what would he do to win her affection and eliminate the competition?

This book 3 of the Kendrick Brother’s trio is not as engaging as the first two. I found the middle section in particular tough going.

This was an amazing book that had a female war veteran come back from war with PTSD and overcome all her war fears. She had many scars, burns and gun shot wounds that made her take time to reconnect with the real world. Ford and Jamie were destined for a life together forever. It took sometime but love overcame all the hurt and despair. The connection between them really helped Jamie with her dark past in order for her to live in the present. This book will make you feel Jamie's hurt, despair, terror but also see her fight for the truth and find happiness. Jamie was a character who struggled to find out what happened when she was attacked but she fought every minute to remember and move on. I loved the ideas that were added in the story to help war veterans who come back with PTSD to be apart of family, friends and community.

Ford Kendrick has often dreamed of the day that Jamie Keller would come home to Montana. After high school, she needed to leave—and he, duty-bound to rescue his family’s ranch, pushed her to go. The Army made Jamie a hero, but Ford still sees the gorgeous, loving woman who lit up his whole world.

Every day since she left, Jamie has longed for Ford. One glimpse confirms it: the sexy, dangerous-looking cowboy left a hole in her heart that nothing else can fill. Yet the battle scars she bears—inside and out—won’t let her trust anyone enough to get close.

Ford wants to bring Jamie back to the life they dreamed of building. But locked somewhere in her memories is a dark truth that threatens her safety. It’s a battle Ford won’t let her fight alone, not when he’s determined to keep her by his side, now and always

Breaking Jamie's heart was the hardest thing Ford Kendrick ever had to do. But now years later she's back in town, believing she's battered, broken and unable to give the man she still loves a chance. Determined to prove her wrong, Ford does everything in his power to win back her trust and show her there is hope of having the kind of future they once talked about. But when Jamie's past and present collide, will Ford give up on her or will he be able to convince her that they deserve a second chance at love?

Having loved the stories that encompassed Ford's brothers as the heroes, I couldn't wait to dive into this story, because Ford really intrigued me with his teasing manner and attempts to get his brothers out of their morose moods. Right from the beginning, I was hooked to this story and the prologue opens it superbly, setting the fast-pace of this book. Since I couldn't wait to discover what obstacles Jamie and Ford would have to overcome to get their second chance at love, because it was palpable that these two had unfinished business and that they were a meant-to-be couple.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to what led to their break-up in the past and the main characters back stories, especially that of the heroine. Certainly, her past made me an emotional mess at times, yet, Ford working to make things right between them and providing the support she needs to get through the tough times warmed my heart. He's sweet without pushing her too hard to remember what happened during her time in the military and the moment where she was injured badly by allowing her to take the time to adjust to any situation and being by her side nearly every step of the way in case she needs him.

Jamie was a fantastic heroine that I felt sorry for in the prologue because Ford didn't give her a good enough reason of why they couldn't be together in that moment. Yet, it wasn't until chapter one that she really grabbed my undivided attention, because of what she's going through. Her time in the military has left her traumatized, filled with plenty of guilt, and leaving it hard for her to trust anyone. Can Ford find a way to get through to her? Will she realize that she's not alone and that there are plenty of people willing to see her through the tough times? Will she be able to remember what happened to her and her team?

The heroine is strong and brave in everything she faces throughout this story such as confronting the past, someone looking to cause problems between her and Ford, being able to be around people without losing it and dealing with her mother. Remembering the past isn't easy, but in some ways, I could understand why she needed to remember. She wouldn't be happy or find peace if she didn't. I also liked that she finally stood up for herself against her mother. The woman didn't deserve to have such a wonderful daughter like Jamie and needed to be put in her place when it came to the woman's jealousy. While Ford, he's kind, caring, hard-working and I loved that he was so patient with Jamie in helping her deal with her PTSD, because what she does to him shows she's not handling being around people.

Overall, Ms. Ryan has penned well-written dialogue, an entertaining plot and superb characters that I connected with immediately to make this a worthwhile read, especially if you like books with plenty of emotion that readers will no doubt feel along with the main characters. The way this story ended had me worried for the heroine. Would she be able to handle the truth of what really happened during her last military mission? However, it was the epilogue that wrapped everything up nicely, because of the heroine's surprise. I would highly recommend His Cowboy Heart by Jennifer Ryan, especially if you enjoy second chance romances.

Ford Kendrick and Jamie Keller were always going to get married. However, Ford couldn't leave the family ranch when Jamie needed to run away so he stayed while she joined the Army. After 4 tours of duty in which the last one she almost died, she has returned to Montana, suffering from PTSD.

Ford is still single while Jamie is an emotional disaster as the army is pressuring her to remember what happened when the supply convoy was ambushed. She is also being pressured by her buddy in the army, Tobin, who keeps calling her.

Ford has never stopped loving Jamie so he starts his campaign to get back into her life.

Great story and the PTSD is handled sensitively and realistically.

This might qualify as my favorite in the series. It’s got everything I love reading: drama, intrigue, passion, angst, hot cowboys, and honorable military personnel. This truly was a second chance for Ford and Jamie to get their relationship right. Lousy timing tore it apart the first time around, but will the second time around survive all the emotional baggage the pair is carrying. One of the things I like best about this series is the small-town feel. Everyone knows each other and isn’t afraid to pitch in to help. I’m intrigued by this new family that’s been introduced in the ending and hope to read more about them in the future.

His Cowboy Heart

So many of our military men and women come back home wounded, not only in body but in their minds. PTSD has been around as long as there have been people in this world. Ford loved Jamie enough to give her the love and support that she needed to heal. The thing that tore her apart was her lost memory of Tobin shooting her team and her. Some things are just too painful to remember and the mind closes down to protect itself. This was a page turner. If you have the chance------READ IT..

Ford has everything he needs to build his new life - except for the girl he sent away all those years ago. She needed to get out of town and away from her abusive mother. He had to stay and help his family's ranch keep from going under.
She returns, battered, damaged but not broken by war. Danger has followed her, though and the minefield of her lost memories is one that she will need to walk through with Ford's help. This is a happy ending for one couple and a promise of something else for another wounded warrior.

Touching, Sweet, enlightening story

Excellent story about love, and lives touched by tragedies associated with PTSD. I loved it from beginning to end. Story was well written and told. When Jamie had flashbacks, you could almost see in her head what she was going through. Ford was strong and steady. He and Jamie had been each other’s first loves, but he sent her away due to family obligations. Now he wanted her back. His patience and understanding help bring Jamie back from the edge so she and Ford could find true love again. Loved this story!

Cost both so much..... (small spoiler alert!)

His Cowboy Heart caused them so much suffering and cost them so much time and loss. As good as the author’s other books in this series. Love her books and read all as soon as I can.
The last of the Kendrick brothers gets his HEA and Grandpa Sammy finds his own happiness. A look at PTSD that is raw, but shows that the “experts” don’t have all the answers.

Good read

I couldn't stop turning the pages. A good All American story that reminds us, we're not that terrible thing.
Life on a ranch is hard, life in the military is difficult, friends one and go, family may support you or shun you, each life story is on a different path until the paths cross, Ford and Jamie, full circle.

She writes a heart felt book, and she gives an authentic description of what a soldier has to deal with, and it happens to both men and women. I think sometimes we forget that women are soldiers too!

I appreciated a book about a female solider. I think it's the first I've read. The book also dealt with PTSD which I appreciated. I put the book down for the weekend and didn't pick it up again. It just didn't pull me in.

I could not put this book down! I got so swept up in the story, loved Ford and Jamie and their story. I became so wrapped up in their lives, they seemed like my own friends and neighbors. I cannot wait to read more books in this series!
