Share: Delicious and Surprising Recipes to Pass Around Your Table

Rate this book
The popular judge of Chopped and chef/founder of Beauty & Essex, Stanton Social, and Vandal opens up his kitchen with unforgettable food to share with your friends and family.

Why serve boring food . . . ever?!
In Share, Chris Santos serves up the unique communal dining he has made his signature in his renowned Lower East Side restaurants. Here, he offers over 100 extraordinary "big platter" recipes for his creative take on old-school favorites, specifically made for family-style dining, as well as small plates that are fun to serve when entertaining.
If you want to feel like you are hosting a real "downtown" party, you won't go wrong with Santos' legendary cocktails like Beauty Elixir, Emerald Gimlet, or the Woodsman, all of which go down well with starters like Nori-Spiced Tuna Poke Crisps, Crab Corn Dogs with Old Bay Aioli, or his famous Grilled Cheese Dumplings in Tomato Soup. You can follow up with exciting main courses like Spicy Lamb Souvlaki with Tzatziki or Korean Short Rib Tacos with Classic Kimchi.
You'll have a hard time convincing your guests to leave if you serve them such desserts as Peanut Butter and Jelly "Twinkies" or Black-Bottomed Butterscotch Pots de Crème. These addictive dishes will have everyone at the table reaching for seconds.
Share is comfort food at its highest level. And, you don't need a guest list or a party to try these surprisingly tasty recipes any night of the week!

Goodreads Giveaway - This book has so many fun recipes with lots of great fusion flavors. The idea is essentially a lot of different "tapas" that you can have around when having some friends over. There are plenty of things for the carnivores, vegetarians, and even the vegans in your group. Plus there is a a good cocktails recipe section (the people who wrote this actually know how to use Aperol). Plus the photos are funny - maybe trying a little too hard to be the cool hipsters. However, if your friends are into good food when they hangout, you should get this book.

This is a game changer cookbook . . . took it out of the library, but I'm going to purchase a copy for keeps.

Honestly, I just want to have a huge party now and make a bunch of food for my friends. I love Chris Santos on the Food Network, and as it turns out, I also love having his writing and recipes on my kitchen shelf. Really excited to dig in!

This was not an awful or great book, I just really did not think anything of the book. But, for one thing the recipes ingredients are long, if it isn't long the directions are overly extensive. Moreover, the recipes are not interesting to me. This was ok for what it was.

Thank you goodreads for sending me a finished copy of this gorgeous looking cookbook. There's a good intro and and advice on how to use the cookbook and a good list and explanation of "exotic" ingredients. They undoubtedly aren't very exotic everywhere but here in midwest ND they are. The pictures are beautiful and will make you salivate. All the courses are covered and there is sure to be a recipe for everyone, especially the bold and the adventurous.

Chris Santos with Rick Rodgers have written a very nice cookbook with beautiful photography by Quentin Bacon. The cookbook begins with a written introduction of "Sharing As A Way Of Life" which you will enjoy reading as well as his suggestions as to how to make it special, making your menu, stocking the perfect pantry, getting your act together, what you need to make it a party, and kitchen essentials. There are a large array of recipes starting with cocktails and I can tell you that the Beauty Elixir cocktail that has London dry gin and Champagne is not only beautiful but delicious. There are many Starter Recipes that look delicious and would be great for family gatherings or parties. There are Salad recipes and a Soup recipe. We loved the Asparagus Ribbon and Spring Pea Salad with Lemon Ricotta. I can tell you that Chris Santos's recipes are not boring. There are recipes for chicken, seafood, meat, pasta, vegetables and grains, desserts, and brunch. We made the Individual Beef Wellingtons recipe for family and everyone thought it was truly transcendent. We can't wait to try the Baby Back Ribs with Jagermeister-Black Cherry Cola Glaze. We also like the picture of the Lamb Souvlaki with Tzatziki and Lime-Harissa Aioli. The pasta recipes will make you hungry and we loved the Spaghetti Caprese with Tomatoes, Mozzarella, and Spinach. We can't wait to make the recipe for Pasta with Spicy Veal and Lamb Bolognese. We also very much enjoyed the Spicy Broccolini with Soy and Garlic. We are looking forward to trying the Devil's Food Cake with Vanilla Mascarpone filling. We haven't tried the Brunch recipes yet but I can tell you the Orange-Bourbon Pull-Apart Bread is going to be the first breakfast recipe we try. There are so many recipes that look delicious. I won this cookbook from goodreads first-reads and I am very appreciative to have won. I highly recommend that you buy, gift, but most importantly buy the cookbook, read the contents, make some recipes you have never made in your life and enjoy. I know you won't be disappointed.
