My name is Matt Holcomb, and I'm the good guy. The boy next door. I'm the safe bet and I always do the right thing. Then one night two years ago, I made a terrible mistake that caused irreparable damage, and the guilt is killing me. If I'm ever to make the leap and find love again, the woman would have to be perfect. She can't disrupt my carefully constructed control. I met my best friend Jenny Winter as a teenager and have loved her ever since. She's gorgeous and talented. Her voice could make angels weep. Yet she chose someone else and I swore I'd never fall for her again. Until something happens between us and passion ignites. But she's not the right woman for me, and crossing the line with her would not only change everything, it'll take away the only good thing I have left.

This was an amazing read that kept me glued to the pages till I finished the very last word. The story will grab you and not let you go. The characters are amazing and you cannot help but hope that they over come everything that may stand in their way. This book also moves along at a pace that makes it easy to read as it is not to fast nor to slow. This book needs to be on your list of books to be read in 2016, no doubt about it.

I've been waiting for Matt's story after reading Summer's Road and I wasn't disappointed at all!! This is an amazing story. Matt and Jenny will grab your heart and they won't let go! Ms. Moran has written a beautiful story that takes us on the journey as these two deal with the baggage they both carry from their individual pasts and forge a future that could be wonderful together. Letting go of the past can be difficult though and the way these two handle the ups and downs of their newly formed relationship will take you on an emotional roller coaster. A ride you don't want to miss. This is a book I highly recommend.

What I really appreciated the most in the Seasmoke Friends Series is how both these books are not just stories but so much more.

Kelly Moran's realistic writing makes you feel so many different emotions, every word is thought provoking and it grabs the reader's full attention page after page.

Matt and Jenny story was heartbreaking and heartwarming.
I'm so glad that these two long time friends find the courage to fight their personal demons in order to live their lives to the fullest.

This book honestly did so much more for me than the first book in the series (SUMMER'S ROAD). Not sure why but I felt connected with the characters, maybe its because I met them in book one, maybe because I liked Matt in book one and was intrigued by him. Either way...THE BOOK IS A FREAKING HIT!!!

I openly admit this is my second book by Kelly Moran and I freaking LOVED IT!

Matt is one of the kindest souls ever, and to hear his story and why he made the decisions he did says so much about him. I wanted to just find him and hug him. He is one intelligent man and that my friends is a huge turn on. He is making a huge move career and personally, this is one move he was trying to avoid, he wanted the safe choice but sometimes we need to face our fears to over come them.

Matt is off to his summer getaway, which will now be his home. He has a huge burden he is carrying around and is afraid of what will happen while he is there. But, he should be fine after all his closest friend, Jenny lives there year round and she will be there to help him when needed.

Jenny, does just that, they met when they where 16 and twelve years later they have a bond that can't be broken. They are best friends and have kept in touch since the day they met. Matt, introduced her to his friends, the summer they met and ever since the age of 16 they met up every July for an unforgettable week. With a total of six friends hanging out, it was impossible to not fall for one of them. Jenny, fell hard for Matt, sadly she never thought he felt the same.

For twelve long years they watch each other hook up with others and kept their feelings to themselves. This book is about Matt and Jenny not only sharing their feelings but also, overcoming their personal demons. They each carry so much baggage and insecurity that it is heartbreaking, Jenny thinks that she will never be the woman for Matt. Matt wants someone safe, well safe sadly doesn't work out. Jenny, is who he wants but he's scared to feel. The last time he allowed himself to feel it ended bad. He can't risk that with Jenny.

Jenny is his anchor, Matt is Jenny's everything; he see's her not the disposable being she was made to feel at such a young age. This book hooks you, the sex is hot and the love oozes off the pages. So many breakthrough scenes. My fave is Matt making a fool of himself for the woman he loves. His Alpha Male persona is so damn sexy. Kelly, you knocked this one out of the park. Can't wait for the next installment.

Winter's Path by Kelly Moran

This is a story about Matt Holcomb and Jenny Winter's which you were introduced to in Summer's Road and who have know each other for a decade. They both were dealt a blow in their lives. Jenny's only escape is her music and her friend Matt. He has always been her support system and she was his support system. Jenny has had a crush on Matt from the first time they met but, Matt never showed any signs that he had the same feelings for her. Matt and Jenny do end up having some HOT sex scenes. Matt and Jenny have a lot of baggage in their past that they both need to work out with the help of each other. If you want to know more about this story Please get the book Winter's Path but I suggest you read "Summer's Road: (A Seasmoke Friends Novel)" first and you will not be disappointed with either book!! Awesome book Kelly Moran!! I truly loved this book!!

Winter's Path is a cute, quirky read. This is the 2nd is the series. I didn't read the first book, and although it is absolutely necessary, I would suggest reading the first book to fill in the back story. Matt lives his life very organized and almost bordering OCD. He change his routine 2 years ago and something tragic happened. He will not let himself off his routine again fearing that he will mess up again. A change in his career lands him in Seasmoke with is childhood best friend Jenny.

Matt and Jenny have some very intense chemistry. While Matt is very serious, Jenny lives in the moment, runs a bar, loves to sing and joke around. All things Matt isn't. She will have to work really hard to break down his walls. I thought this book was really sweet. It was a quick read, but packed full chemistry and steamy scenes.

A was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in the Seasmoke Friends series, by Kelly Moran.Matt and Jenny have been best friends since they met at age 16 on a beach. There was an attaction for both of them, but circumstances in both their lives kept either from acknowledging how they truly felt.

Now years later, Matt has taken a job transfer and will be living in his parent's old home in Seasmoke, where Jenny lives and runs a bar. Jenny and Matt are both single and Jenny decides she can wait no longer to reveal how she feels to Matt. Will he return her feelings or is she running the risk of ruining the years-long friendship they have had?

This story picks up where Summer's Road left off, as Matt's proposal to Summer has been turned down. I liked the flow into this next story, though both books are great as stand alone reads.

Matt and Jenny have amazing chemistry as written by Kelly Moran and as usual, I wasn't surprised to feel genuine compassion and hope as I read the story, which is told from both sides.

I felt bad for Matt, as he struggled with memories from his past and hopeful for Jenny as she tried to withhold her feeling for Matt. This is a couple that you simply cannot help but root for. I swear I almost cheered out loud when they finally made love!

Filled with the type of storytelling so present in Kelly Moran's novels, that makes her locations so much a part of the story, it's almost like another character, Winter's Path, is a must read for fans of this author and a definite suggestion for contemporary romance readers in general.

Wow, this is another amazing book by Kelly Moran. I am a huge fan of her writing. It is always so well done. The characters are well developed and believable and the stories have the right combinations of spice and tension and this book is certainly no different.

We met Matt and Jenny in Summer's Road which is one of my favourite books I have read this year. Even if you have not read Summer's Road you could still read this book but I have to ask why would you not read Summer's Road first it is amazing. Winter's Path, while is stand- alone actually really builds on the story from Summer's Road. It goes back over some of the scenes but from Matt and Jenny's point of view which just adds so much.

Matt and Jenny are a beautiful couple who have their own demons to battle and of course Kelly Moran takes you on their journey where you are happy, sad and pulling out your hair but it is worth every moment.

If you enjoy a story that delves deeper than most and deals with real issues than you won't want to miss this.

Matt Holcomb is a good guy who lives a neat and orderly life. He rarely takes a chance. The one time he did, ended in disaster and the guilt won't go away. Jenny Winter is a rebel. She runs a local bar and cares for her ailing grandfather. She and Matt have been friends for years. They depend on each other for support. She loves and worships Matt, but he never sees the real woman. Will that ever change? I loved this emotional story. I wanted Matt to recover from his grief and realize how wonderful Jenny is. He needs to take a chance to get what he desires. Jenny needs to realize her worth. She is a selfless and giving person. She has always loved Matt. I was pulled into Winter's Path by the touching story of love, second chances and redemption. Kelly Moran has written characters that I liked and cared about. The beach setting is perfect for romance plus I enjoyed seeing the other Seasmoke friends. The ending was wonderful and left me smiling. Kelly Moran has done it again!

This is another amazing book by Kelly Moran
Matt and Jenny have known each other since they were teenagers. Over the years, they became close friends and have been each other's rock over the years. The friendship and love between these two was strong, sweet, steamy, rocky…REAL!, They both have demons in their past yet with each other they can battle them and enjoy life. Matt Holcomb moved into his family home there at the beach where he'd stayed as a kid. They had kept up with each other over the years but it wasn't until he moved there that they both were faced with the reality of their feelings!
A sweet, captivating story that I thoroughly enjoyed! 5 stars this is a must read! Keep up the great work Kelly I love your books.

Beautiful story, extremely well written and superb characters... What's not to like about this book?
I devoured Winter's Path in a few hours, from the first chapter I was hooked.. Not stopping to eat or even use the toilet!
This story was heartbreaking to read, my emotions were up and down, smiling, crying, shouting at my kindle.
This is the first book I've read by Kelly Moran and I must say it definitely will not be the last.. I will be one-clicking her every book.
Matt and Jenny are "perfectly imperfect".. They both have demons in their past yet with each other they can battle them and enjoy life.
A sweet, captivating story that I thoroughly enjoyed!

This is book 2 in the Seasmoke Friends series but can be read as a standalone.

Matt and Jenny have known each other since they were teenagers. Over the years, they became close friends and have been each other's rock over the years. When Matt needs a fresh start, he reaches out to Jenny and moves to Seasmoke. Matt and Jenny have silently dealt with traumatic events and loss while secretly being attracted to one another. When they finally open up to each other, they are forced to face their pasts, forgive themselves, let go of the guilt and realize that they are meant to be together.

I hurt for Matt once the cause of his guilt was revealed. Bits of his story were revealed in Summer's Road, but I didn't expect this story line. Jenny's past gutted me. Everything from her past and the day she met Matt and the Seasmoke crew to taking care of her grandfather with Alzheimer's had me in tears.

The friendship and love between these two was strong, sweet, steamy, rocky…REAL! It was worth the tears to watch these two finally fit together like puzzle pieces.

I've read several books by Kelly Moran and have been able to personally relate to at least one character in every book. She truly is an amazing writer!!

I don't have a heart big enough for this story, my heart beat at the same crescendo as Matt & Jenny. There story is beautiful yet heartwrenching, warm yet cold. Between them both, they have baggage the size of a six people family but they found comfort and support with each other for over a decade.

I loved all the flashbacks in the story, it was great that after references to past lives, we get to know what really happened. You get a real incite into characters that we meet in Summer's Road and I'm so glad they got to tell their story.

The story line itself was perfect. With their hurt combined, it was a force to be reckoned with. There was an area that was a little shady for me but I understood a couple of chapters later so I'm cool with that. But that's the only flaw I could really find in the whole book.

It's written beautifully and written with care and empathy. I love these characters so much and I'm not ashamed to say that I cried like a baby at the end.

This couple really worked for me.
Matt Holcomb is your essential good boy who happens to be ready to settle down and thought he had found the person to settle with. After being turned down by the lady he decides to relocate to the family summer cottage and enlists a friend's help to get moved in.
Jenny Winter is an enigma, she owns a bar, mentors people who have family members with Alzheimers, attends church and organizes charity events. Oh and she has tattoos.
Jenny fell in love with Matt when they met 12/13 yrs before but didn't know how to advance.
Matt had wanted to ask Jenny out by another friend showed up and started flirting with her and Matt decide Jenny wouldn't like to go out with him after all.
Years later, Jenny decorates Matt's home and office and finally invites him to her bar. The discover a mutual attraction and act. Both are hiding something they believe will cause the other to see them differently.
Lots of friends and family time, over all I really liked the story.

After reading Summer’s Road, I was ready to read Matt’s story. Winter’s Path certainly didn’t disappoint. Delving deeper into the lives of Matt and Jenny was both pleasure and pain. Kelly writes with such conviction that you cannot help but feel what the characters are feeling. She takes us into the pasts of each character so that we can better understand how they came to be who they are in the present. These two damaged souls come together and help each other heal and grow.

If you haven’t already, you need to put this book at the top of your reading list. It is well-written and will have you grabbing for the tissues at times and laughing and cheering at others. You certainly do not need to read Summer’s Road first, but I would highly recommend reading it as well.

A 5-star read for sure!

I loved Summer's Road and Winters Path is a great second book to the series. Each are a stand alone books that follow a group of friends as they have become adults.
Jenny and Matt have been best friends since they first met, while both have been attracted to each other. Miscommunication and a fear of messing up an important friendship had kept each of them from acting on the attraction. Now Matt has moved to the same town Jenny lives in and it's hard to fight the attraction. Winter's Path takes you through the ups, downs, highs and lows of their relationship. Kelly Moran has such a wonderful way of writing that you feel all the emotions as each goes through, them. The way she weaves a story makes it very hard to put one of her books down, I stayed up until early morning reading this one and enjoyed every word,

Matt has loved Jenny what seems like a lifetime. They have always been best friends until they take it a bit further one amazing night the can never forget or wants to. The problem is, Jenny has found some one else another one of their friends and he's heart broken. Can he prove to her that they are right for each other without ruining everything and everyone.

The 2nd book in the series that can be a stand alone but you will probably want to go and read the 1st one which is an awesome story too. This one is Jenny and Matt's story - a story about love, redemption, and second chances. Full of emotions and situations makes this story one you won't want to put down till you finish. Well written and great character development.

Often times, in most books, when a relationship ends you follow the life of the heroine/hero. In this case, you follow Matt... after his relationship to Summer comes to the inevitable end. Matt makes a transition in his life that brings him to his best friend, Jenny. Both with horrors in their past, believe they are unworthy of love. It could not be further from the truth.

What I love about this story is what I loved about "Summer's Road". Kelly seamlessly weaves the past and the present together and it tugs at your heartstrings. I was maybe 3 chapters before I was in tears. If I thought I liked "Summer's Road", then I LOVE "Winter's Path". Beautifully written with flawed, yet vulnerable characters. The next installment (God, I hope there is one!) cannot come soon enough!

It is so aggravating when everyone around you can see things when you can't. How much you really mean to someone. How much you are loved and craved. Jenny and Matt are the best of friends. Things are changing in both of their lives. He is moving closer to Jenny for work, her Grandfather has Alzheimer's and is fading away and they both have secrets and baggage that forced them to put up walls around their heart. She has feelings for Matt and she isn't sure he has them for her and they tiptoe around these feelings until something happens that blurs the lines and forces them both to take a good look at what has hurt them for so long. Choices, changes, and taking chances. That's what life it about. I love their story. It felt real. I felt connected.

Kelly Moran never lets me down and amazes me with her writing skills. Winter's Path was an awesome book and I would read it over and over again. I absolutely love the complexity of the Seasmoke series. Matt's past continues to haunt him but he takes a leap of fairth and moves for his new job. Totally out of his comfort zone but he has Jenny. Jenny a local to the area is estatic to have a friend near her and see if their friendship can evolve. Jenny and Matt each have a past to overcome but they seem to be able to work together and find peace together.

I love how Kelly developes her characters and does a great job writing about the past. The book is perfectly written and 100% enjoyable. LOVE the SEASMOKE CREW!!

Oh the feels I got from this book!!

.Jenny was a pretty awesome heroine, who was strong, funny, and the kind of girl you would want as your best friend. Matt is the type of hero you just want to comfort him and help him get past his demons (after you've smacked him upside his head for being a butt). Matt was running from demons of his pasts, and it broke my heart to see the pain he had gone through. This book touches on subjects that you usually don't find in romance novels, and it was awesome to see Matt get closure from his past. I loved how accepting all the characters were of Jenny, and how they didn't treat her as an outcast (as some would)

This book had me laughing and crying in equal parts, and know you will love it also!!

This is definitely a must read!!

Kelly Moran writes a beautiful and savage love story that both tears at the heart and makes it sing! Winter's Path is another exceptional example of the in depth storylines she creates that offer, angst, joy, and tons of passion!
In this story, a group of friends meet every summer. While couples that should be together, pine for another they carry on a relationship of sorts with another in their crowd of friends. Like a true love story, Moran writes so the reader roots for the underdogs and we are overjoyed when they overcome obstacles to be together. It is peppered with just enough heat to relay the desire of Matt and Jenny, as well as ours-for them. A wonderful summer read!

I was a big fan of the first book and I'm so happy Matt and Jenny got their story told. A lot of feels in this one. I liked the flashbacks for both characters because you get to see where is all started and how they've become to mean so much to one another. Friends to lovers is my favorite troupe so I highly enjoyed this one. I could feel the connection between these two especially with the history they have. Along with all the great happy, funny moments there are the pull at your heart, tear inducing moments. It's a well rounded book. It has the passion, connection, story, and angst. Will Matt come to his senses before he lets his chance with Jenny slip through his fingers?

No "isms". I'm speechless and in LOVE!

When a story can transport you to another world, another life, you have found the perfect book. I loved getting lost in another great story by Kelly Moran. These are not your typical steamy romance, these books are a tiny bit of heaven! Wrapped in layers of friendships, hardships, adventure, lessons, lovers, family, memories, loss, acceptance, spirituality, beaches, bars, songs, best friends, old friends, new friends, and finally finding out your soulmate has been by your side all along, teaching us that life is the best adventure ever!

Jenny has been in love with Matt since she was 16 and he was the only one who saw her and being the good guy he wanted to protect her. On and off for the last 12 years Jenny and Matt have been best friends and as desperate as Jenny is to change things Matt doesn't seem to notice. Little does Jenny know Matt does notice he just doesn't know how to handle it so he dates women that are the opposite of Jenny. Matt takes a job near Jenny so they can and out more often and that's when Matt finds out he may not have known his best friend at all. I admire Jenny's strength to tackle problems head on and Matt to try and find his own strength.
