Football player. Sassy princess. Game on. I only care about one thing.
Football.
Love? Ha, right. Relationships? Don’t need the distraction.
Stuck up princesses? Hell no.
Then fate dumped the biggest distraction of all right in my lap. Ana is like no one I've ever met. Innocent, pure, and beautiful. One look at her and I'm ready to go long. One smile and she makes me feel like a king.
Everyone on campus knows Ana is off limits, and if they don't, her bodyguards teach them a quick lesson.
Too bad I’m a slow learner.
***
Quarterback Jason Powell is everything I shouldn't want. He's foul-mouthed, cocky, and completely inappropriate. He's also gorgeous, ripped, and too cocky for his own good.
I can't stop thinking about him, and I can't keep my hands off him. My mother hates him, the paparazzi chase us everywhere we go, and my bodyguards follow me everywhere, but I don't care.
That arrogant football player, the one I don't know if I want to slap or kiss, is the only one in the world who's ever made me feel like royalty.
What can I say? Another football player . . . I can't seem to resist. Fun romp with a foreign princess studying at same college. It's a little dirty, really sexy, and kinda funny, too.
I absolutely loved this book! Anastasia is a princess with attitude who is in America going to college where she meets Jason, the star quarterback of their college team. Once their eyes meet at a football game that starts them on a whirlwind romance full of comedy, drama, a professor with an ax to grind and a queen who learns sometimes you just have to be a mom. Jason will stop at nothing to get Ana to give him a chance, including over the top gestures with the help of his roommates and friends the Thunder twins. I loved dialogue from Ana when ever she was chewing someone out. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Jason is an honest boy, "I have to admit, I think about your *** a lot." When one has roommates one must always be cautious, "I yank the door open and yell, "Stay out of the effing hallway," then grab Ana and scoop her up in my arms and carry her across into the bathroom. I lock us in and turn the shower all the way up." I liked this book I loved Jason.
I received this book as a bonus story with my purchase of the book Benched, also by this author.
Jason is the hot college quarterback that everyone wants. Ana is the beautiful princess from another country attending college in America. Jason falls for her the moment he sees her, but doesn't think he's worthy. Ana wants Jason but knows she'll have to leave and marry a man her mother picks. Will they find a way to be together in the end?
This is a cute okay story. I liked Jason and his determination to win Ana. There are a number of typos but I was able to figure out what the author meant. The version of the story I received has an epilogue so you get the happy ending some of the other reviewers complained was missing.
ARC for honest review Anastasia is a princess from Europe attending an American college, she doesn't nhave much of a social life except for her best friend Dee who takes her to a college football game where she sees Jason the star quarterback for the first time Jason has seen ana around campus many time and really like what he see's Jason and ana have some hot chemistry going on and Jason is determined to break ana;s walls down and when he does they fall in love this book keeps you gripped all the way through definitely recommened to read this book.
A forbidden love. A chance of happiness that won't last. If only for a short time they'll take it. Things spiral out of control yet they'll have one more chance to find out..what if. Can they both forget one another? Or will it be too late? Could not put the book down! Great story, flows seamlessly, laughed, cried and cringed in some cases. A story of finding oneself among others interference and expectations of others. Was given advanced read for honest review by author Abigail Graham.
If you're a fan of dirty-talking, cocky football players who will stop at nothing to get the girl they want, then Player's Princess is the book for you. It has a great mix of intriguing and interesting characters, humor, drama, jealousy, rivalry, a meddling Queen, romance, love and a HEA. I received a courtesy copy of this book for an honest review.
I love football romances, and I love the royal-falls-for-the-commoner romances. In Player's Princess, the commoner is the college quarterback who makes Her Grace feel like a real princess for the first time in her royal life. Jason and Ana had lots of cute moments -- I especially loved how she stumbled through American culture and slang -- and despite the far-fetched ending, I did enjoy this book. But I just wanted something MORE from the main characters. I would have loved to read more about Jason's backstory, his family losses, the relationship with that other player. Maybe that's why I feel like I didn't fall in love with him the way I have some other Hs. But overall, this was a fun read.
I received for a honest review. What a great book. Often we read about prince meeting a common girl that he is forbidden to be with. Well this one is a little different. This is about a princess who falls in love with an american. As you are reading the story you will fall in love with Anastasia and Jason’s story.
Anastasia aka Ana is in America going to college. She feels so alone. She has only been able to make one friend which is Dee. I love Dee in this story. She is a true friend. Ana always has these bodyguards around that would give anyone the look of death if they approach her, this has made it very hard for Ana to fit in. There is still so much she does not know about America.
I loved Ana’s first time going to a football game. That is were she got to see Jason Powell for the first time. She did not even know he existed until then. That did not mean Jason did not know who she was. Jason had his eye on Ana for a long time. He knew he did not have a chance at the princess but that did not stop he from craving her.
Things will get heated between Ana and Jason. I guess there is nothing like a forbidden love. Both Ana and Jason are a hurting and the thought this can not last forever. Jason is hoping to find away to make this work. He dreams of being married to his princess one day.
Ana is suppose to marry Mortimer. Mortimer makes her skin crawl. Her mother is determined to make sure her daughter will marry royalty and take the thrown. Her mother is so cold and loveless that you will feel sorry for Ana. The one thing that has in her life is her brother Konstantin. I just love Konstantin and hope to see a future book about him. He truly loves his sister and wants for her happiness.
There was a teacher I hated in the book and that was Grandolf. She had this sick fascination with Jason. She truly was one that did not deserve to be a teacher. This teacher also had a hatred toward Ana. Ana was determined not to let this teacher get to her.
I loved Ana’s bodyguard Thorleif. He loved Ana like a daughter. He had been her personal bodyguard since she was 9. He truly wanted what was best for her but did not want to see her get hurt. Outside of her brother and Jason, Thorleif is the only one that shows her love. I can not imagine growing up not knowing a mother’s love. It truly had to be hard.
This was a great story and so glad I got a chance to read it
Ana is a Princess, Jason grew up in a trailer, but can love prevail? Ana feels desire for Jason; he is interesting, amuses her and has fire; everything she wishes to feel and experience, but being a Princess comes with duties, expectations and responsibilities. Ana feels bitter; she sees the life other people have, so why does she feel so alone. Ana informs Jason that he would be happier to forget all about her, but he doesn’t give up on her and asks Ana to agree to date him for a week; Jason wants to get to know Ana the person, not Ana the Princess, and tutoring each other in their weakest subjects brings a closer intimacy. Ana has been royalty all her life, but only Jason made her feel like a Princess. Ana confides her feelings about Jason to her brother, Konstantin, who tells her to do what her heart desires and he will protect her. Professor Grandolf tries to seduce Jason but he refuses her advances; she is mean and nasty and enjoys humiliating students and Ana becomes her prime target. Leaks to The Royal Expoṡe are such that Ana is commanded to return home and to immediately marry a man of her standing: Jason has broken her heart, she has never been so utterly crushed in all her life as she is right then, but Jason has been set up; it is all lies. Now it is time for Jason to fight for Ana. With Konstantin’s help, and those of the whole football team, it is time for Jason to make a stand; the wedding has to be stopped. The story also evolves around Thorlief, Ana’s bodyguard, who has been exiled by the Queen for helping Ana; he has a hidden secret and it is now time to divulge it – how could there have been so many wasted years? But the Queen is also hiding secrets about her past and the time has come for these to be revealed - and time for changes to be made. The Queen believes she has been protecting Ana, but now realises it is time to reveal the secrets she has kept hidden all these years that made her into the person she is; what she has taken away from Ana, what she had tried to keep from her. Now it is time to issue a Royal Decree and set matters right. This was an excellent story that had a lot of twists and turns, and I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending it. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I loved it. Our H is Jason Powell, Quarterback for the Knights. Our h is Ana, our Anastasia Carolien Jacobina Katrien De Vries, Princess of Jyvaslka, Duchess of Karin.
Princess Ana is at college in America. She struggles with the language and feels alone, even though she never is. She has 2 bodyguards with her constantly, a cook and servants but she only has one friend, Dee. Dee successfully convinces Ana to go to a football game. There she looks down on the field and sees the quarterback, Jason, staring back at her. Jason Powell is the quarterback of the Knights. While playing one of his toughest opponents, he looks into the crowd and spots Ana. To Jason, Ana is like color in a black and white world. He has been attracted to her since she stepped on campus but honestly thought he never had a chance. After the game, Ana and Dee go to the Deerhead, a bar that students go to after the game. A little later, Jason shows up. After some dancing and an almost kiss, the opposing quarterback shows up to make trouble. Ana shows Jason she can be a warrior woman and she has his back. While Ana likes Jason, she knows this thing between them can never happen. She is to be queen and marry who her mother tells her too. Jason never gives up and convinces her to give him one week.
I loved Jason. He could be filthy mouthed but he was such a sweetie. Ana was a great h. She was strong and full of attitude. The whole book, I wanted things to work out between them but I had no idea how it could. The slight drama opened the doors for Ana to be taken back home and for Jason to show her how much he loved her.
I enjoyed this book. The whole Jock and a Princess was a perfect escape from so many books that have similar themes. I really really really hope that Konstantin will get a book soon.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! And I certainly don’t agree with the write-up that Jason is foul-mouthed, cocky and completely inappropriate! I found him sweet, adorable and admirable. Oh, and gorgeous and ripped, too. I loved Jason; he’s the perfect boyfriend.
Jason and Anastasia “Princess” have a sweet, genuine, innocent love, and their love story is a sweet love story. He reads “The Great Gatsby” to her. The “week of dates” was so romantic and sincere. Their expressions of love and affection for one another was true and genuine. Each of them have experienced their own heartache and personal sorrow, yet together they bring out the best in one another.
The side stories were also well executed. The professor who had a crush on Jason went to all ends to break up the two of them, and then to learn she was involved all along with Jason’s enemy. Ana’s mother, the queen, had experienced disgrace and heartache at the hands of a guy when she attended college in the States, and used this as the reason for wanting to keep Ana from Jason even though the situations were entirely different. Then there was Thorlief, who had been both the queen’s and Ana’s bodyguard; he loved the queen and thought of Ana as his daughter.
Author Abigail Graham uses great analogies and metaphors, and the infusion of humor as an element of the storytelling and Jason’s and Ana’s relationship is genius. Add to that the immersion of Ana’s accent and ignorance about things in this country and culture, and Jason’s actions appear even more pure and genuine. And the marching band bursting in at the wedding ceremony playing “Stars and Stripes Forever?” Priceless.
I provided this honest review in exchange for an ARC.
I received this book for an honest review so here goes. We first meet Ana at a football game, where she is trying to remain hidden in the crowd. Well she is a princess after all and one must not be seen at such events. She spots Jason on the field and they both looks into each others eyes and something happens to both of them. She is told he's a player and to keep away from him but as it turns out they both need help with the studies and they both agree to help each other. They both have feelings for each other but Ana denies herself because she knows that she can not keep him as a he has to marry a man of her mother's choosing! Jason finally convinces Ana to date him for a week and he shows her all the things she has missed put on I her life. I kind of felt sorry for Ana all the way through this book. Even though she is a princess she has had a depraved life of love and affection. She doesn't understand most normal things and I find she's a bit innocent in nearly every way. Jason is all by him loan some after his whole family is taken from him but when Ana cm es into his life it lifts the darkness away. And he truly does love her. Then we have one heck of a crazy female who tries to wreck their relationship but ultimately she doesn't succeed. I really enjoyed this book but I do have to say, it does have a few spelling mistakes here and there, and parts of the sentence the wrong way round but that does not detract from the story one bit. At the end it sounds like there is an opening for the book to continue with her brother coming to America. If there is a continuous story I'll happily read the next book! This was an awesome read and worth a a go.
OMG this is HOT! If you are into love stories that are full of a bit of predictability and even more unpredictability, along with an intensity that will have your blood boiling one minute and your heart breaking the next, then you won't want to miss this one. Ms. Graham has managed to wind us up and throw the pitch in this tale of a foreign princess, Ana, who comes to America to finish her studies prior to taking the throne. Her time in America is not what she hoped it would be. She was hoping for some freedom to experience and learn new and different things than what she would find on her small island, yet all she has managed is loneliness and isolation. Her constant bodyguards manage to scare most of the other students away from her, not encouraging friendships, with the exception of Dee. So, when Dee hauls her off to a football game, one of those new experiences for Ana, it is there that she sets eyes on the most handsome and captivating man she has ever seen. Jason couldn't believe his eyes, up there in the bleachers, sits the princess, the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. But he knows only too well, princesses are way over his head. When the two of them meet at the local bar after the game, all holds barred, as this couple set out to explore new and wonderful things together. And let's not forget, never is there a fairytale without "the wicked witch of the west", and this one is no exception. There may even be a couple of them. A great read you won't regret, this book will have you on the edge of your chair from the first page until the last. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Jason Powell was the quarter back for his college team and he was also considered to be a player he had a full time football scholarship but he knew that was no what he really wanted to do with his life when he graduated. But when he saw Princess Anatasia De Vries something made him decided that he wanted more than anything to meet her but once he got the chance to talk to her after a game because he noticed that she was eyeing him a change came over him when he first started talking to her he acted just like a jock and she was not having anything to do with him and certainly was not going to have sex with him but he thought he could talk her into it but she showed him a different way to treat a woman and he realized that he wanted to get to really know her as a person even though there seem to be blocks thrown up at every turn she has two body guards who will not let her breathe without them the oldest body guard could have been her father but he would not share his feelings with her mother who happens to be the queen who keeps a iron fist on her daughter's neck at all times. Ana had no intention of following in love with Jason but she couldn't help herself because he was already in love with her before he realized it. He showed her so many things that she had know idea was available to her in America, then he showed her how to love. This is a story of first love and the hardship of loving someone who is and is not royalty. I received a copy for an honest review.
The Only Shot You Know You'll Miss is the One You Don't Take! From the moment I read the blurb, I couldn't wait to read this story. It put a whole new spin on the prince romance trend that's hot right now. For starters, it's a princess and not a prince so immediately I'm intrigued. Princess Ana was stuck between wanting a life of her own choosing and the one expected of her. She's coming to terms of just accepting her life for what it is until sexy quarterback Jason comes along. This story was over the top funny, sweet, and everything in between. Abigail Graham's idioms, and other sayings made for such an entertaining read. She kept me laughing at every page. Their texts were the cutest, funniest, and sweetest. Jason kept me swooning with his cute little romantic gestures. He was seriously so dreamy. I absolutely loved the relationship between Ana and her brother Konstantin. I don't know how Graham does it, but even with what is suppose to be a comedy she manages to tug at your heartstrings and get you all emotional. Miss Graham has done it again. I foresee many authors following the new princess trend she has started just as they did when she started the prince trend. Another amazing story to add to her lists of greats. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. Definitely loved the story. It was a nice change that the main story was about a princess, instead of a "dirty" prince. Anyway, the story is about princess Anastasia who is in America going to college at the command of her mother the queen. However, she really has no life outside of her classes b/c, being Royal, she is confined to her home. She does have one friend, Dee, who takes Ana under her wing a bit. Dee & Ana go to a football game where she catches the eye of the QB, Jason. However, Jason has known all along who Ana is, but doesn't think he would ever be good enough. That does not stop him from pursuing her though, as he senses over time that she means something more to him. Throw in a couple of meddling bodyguards, a jealous older professor and a tabloid magazine and misunderstandings arise. It is fun to see them get to know each other and watch Ana blossom in her relationship and interact with his close friends. What will happen when the queen gets involved? You must read the story to find out, but I will say it does end in a HEA and I highly recommend this book.
Solid 3.5 Stars .Jason & Ana story felt like a sexy teen romance to me. Neither one acted very mature and the ending was the stuff of fairy tales. That being said the younger readers I think will really enjoy this book. I receive a ARC copy for a honest review.
I loved this story of love overcoming social status. Ana is a princess, in America to go to college. She can't go out and enjoy herself because she is always recognized, and has bodyguards with her at all times. Jason is the star quarterback, and has been intrigued with Ana since she first started at the college. Ana's one friend finally gets her to dress incognito and sneak out. They go to a football game, and Ana's eyes meet Jason's down on the field. Later they meet when everyone ends up at the same bar. This is the start of Jason's campaign to win Ana. The dialogue between them is funny and charming. Jason does everything he can to impress her. With a little help from one of her guards and a few friends, they get a chance. But a jealous woman, and Ana's mother will try to tear the lover's apart. This story is such a sweet love story and kind of a reversal. Instead of the prince and the pauper, we get the princess and the pauper. You will so root for Jason, and his unwavering love for Ana.
I loved this book. It's sexy, sweet, and funny. Jason seems almost reverent of Ana. In his own way he is lonely despite being the star quarterback of the Knights. She isn't just a potential sexual conquest to him. She is his fantasy, the most important thing in the world to him. He is not the typical quarterback of romance novels.
Princess Ana is lonely too; despite her royal background, she has pretty much been deprived of human warmth and connection until she became friends with Dee, and then Jason. She's a little haughty but Jason manages to break through her shell and reveal the sexy and loving woman inside. The inevitable confrontation with her mother shows how strong she is.
I think this story is really romantic. The supporting characters are great, the love scenes are hot, the story is entertaining and at times, emotional. There is a great HEA too. What more could you ask for?
***I was given an ARC for a true and honest review***
I've read several of Abigail Graham's books before and they've all been enjoyable quick reads. For me this was a typical princess meets a commoner. They fall in love which causes problems for each of them. The book has some really fun moments that had me either chuckling or out right laughing out loud.
The main two characters Ana and Jason and their relationship was going to be denied come heck or high water. There were a number of secondary characters that were loud and very funny as well ie. twin mountainous men who have Jason's back and Ana's friend Dee. I think there could actually be a quick book or two for these adorable side characters but no book for the bad bad Ransom dude.
All in all the it was a sweet little bit naughty read that you should enjoy. After finishing this book you should try out Ms. Graham's – His Princess which is a little darker then this story and definitely naughtier.
If you liked Dirty Prince then you'll probably like this one!
You first meet Ana while she's at her first football game. She instantly takes a liking to Jason, But the thing is she's trying to stay hidden in a way, well she is a Princess so she can't be out in the open without her security.
Jason catches sight of the Princess in the stands and he can't keep his eyes off her. But why would a Princess be interested in a small town football player like himself?
At first the most simple things are completely different for Ana. For instance, Breakfast or just using the washing machine.
This book like all of Abigail Graham's keeps you highly entertained. Makes you keep turning the pages to find out what happens!
I would love to hear about some of the secondary characters, i think their stories will be good! :)
Okay, so I got sucked into reading another "royal" story. I'm just fascinated with how the American public is fascinated with royalty. You'd think we were sorry our forefathers brought forth a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. You can't even blame the Disney studio for that fascination, although they have famously taken advantage of it. It began a long time ago with Cinderella and her ilk. For more than a hundred years. mothers have been building up the hopes and dreams of their little girls, so that we now experience things like Prom King and Queen, not to mention a whole host of beauty pageant queens. Whatever. The story is a good one, following the tried-and-true formula of the errant knight rescuing the beautiful princess, but it's well-written, with good humor. I recommend it.
Received this complimentary arc from the author for an honest review. Quarterback Jason Powell is hot, hot, hot and cocky as well. They say that Princess Anastasia is cold, a cold ice princess. How cruel . Jason is totally smitten when he sees her at school. Ana is totally taken with him but cannot let a relationship develop. Two young people, two different backgrounds and a huge fight on their hands to be together. A sneaky college professor, the Thunder twins, they are so funny, bodyguards to deal with and a fiercely protective Queen. Ana has been so protected but never really lived or loved till him....Jason but they have to be careful. It was great how he taught her about life and love and when he needs to rescue her, he does it in spectacular style. It was funny, warm, dramatic, lots of family secrets and so much more. Loved it
What a great story. Jason is not your typical jock. He is good at the sport but unlike most of the other sports themed books out there he doesn't want it to be his like after college. That part isn't important to him. Ana is trapped in her house literally like a princess locked in a tower. There interactions are comical at times, pull at your heart at times, and are HOT at times. Things go quickly with their "relationship" as most of these books do but it is still fun to read. I love Ana's brother. I would love to read a book about his trip through school in America! Would love to see a girl pin him down. Then ending is good. I won't spoil it but as far as Ana's mother goes, the book has you guessing about her and her history. Was a great book and my first read for the author. Would love to read more and plan on it.
I received an arc in exchange for a honest review. I loved this story of true love conquers all no matter what your background or social status. Anastasia is a princess from Europe attending an American college where she meets the star quarterback Jason. She hasn't got much of a social life except for her best friend Dee who talks her into going to a game where she sees Jason for the first time. Jason has seen Anastasia many times around campus and really likes what he sees. Jason and Ana have some white hot chemistry that would be stupid to ignore. One thing leads to another and you get this highly entertaining story that will keep you gripped to your kindle and loving every minute. Abigail Graham has scored another touchdown with this 4.5 star read.
Really enjoyed this book. Jason is a college football player, that they say is a "player"....which I really don't think that he is. "Players" to me are with a lot of different girls every single night or have been with a lot of girls...personally, for me 3 does not make you a "player"...just sayin. Ana is a princess, an actual princess, going to college here in the states. Jason really makes up his mind to pursue her, which I love. I love that he spends time trying to "woo" her and takes her out to do things she had never done before. There are a few factors which they are able to overcome, basically a strict queen and an immoral professor, and he basically flies in to go get his girl. Sweet, sexy book.
