In the third book of the Keepers of the Wellsprings Series…

A selfish prince on trial for treason. A beloved princess hiding a talent for forbidden magic. The race between Dawn and Dusk to claim Brindelier, a hidden city in the clouds with a promise of ultimate control over the source of power in the Known Lands: The Wellsprings.

Azi and Rian are back! The newly-betrothed couple once again find themselves drawn into the plots of fairy-kind, bestowed with gifts of new titles and strange, powerful abilities. A threat is revealed; one which Flitt insists is worse than anything they have yet faced. Is she referring to the gathering of Sorcerers who call themselves the Circle of Spires, or is a darker, more sinister force at play? Tib knows. He’s seen the might of the Dusk firsthand.

The fates of Cerion, Kythshire, and all the Known Lands hang in the balance in the third installment of the Keepers of the Wellsprings series: Call of Brindelier.

Missy Sheldrake is an epic daydreamer and a muse of positivity who weaves worlds full of character-driven, complex fantasy adventures.

In 2014 she dusted off an unfinished Tassy Walden Award-winning manuscript from her college days, started writing her first novel, Call of Kythshire, and never looked back. In four short years, she completed the five-book Keepers of the Wellsprings series, an epic high-fantasy young adult adventure that was awarded the Golden Squirrel Independent Book Award in 2017 for Best Fantasy.

When she isn't writing, Missy can be found creating fantastical artworks in paint and clay, wandering hidden forest paths, and concocting plots for imaginary people who are beyond real to her. She loves to hear from her readers, so feel free to drop her a line!

This one was scattered/disjointed, and seemed to drag on forever. Still somewhat entertaining, but... Definitely not as well put together as the first two.

If you liked the first books, you're sure to love this one. This is the third book in the series and all I can say is that Ms. Sheldrake succeeded in writing another epic story, with battles of epic proportions and lets not forget, epic characters. Yes, that's a lot of epic but there are no other words for me to explain it. The author describes new worlds and lands beautifully and draws us inside the minds of the characters even further than she had in her previous work.

My favorite characters were back, Flitter (yes she gained more titles), Tib, Azi, and I found some new likeable ones on the way (not new to the story but new to my heart). I love Princess Margy. She is young but oh so mature for her age, willing to do what is best for her kingdom.

There were moments were I wondered how it would end for our heroes, how they could overcome such a threat. The story slows down at times but only to let me breathe a bit so I could be ready for what was coming next.

Overall, a great read that I would recommend to all fans of the fantasy genre.

I love this series. This series keeps me guessing. Just when you think you've worked something out, bam something else hits you. I loved seeing the new characters appear in book 3 and how they intertwined with each other. There was a section with the sea that I didnt see coming till she said it and it hit me. Love when something is staring you in the face but you still dont see it coming till it arrives.

Missy is very clever in how the books are lining up and I can't wait to see were she takes us next in book 4.

This was a re-read on audio. Both Penny and Andrew are amazing Narrators and make me feel like I'm their in Cerion and the Known Lands. Can't wait to listen to the others.

Sheldrake continues to reveal more of the epic world she has created with this third book of the series. She introduces interesting new characters even as your favorites grow and mature. We learn a lot more about the fairy world, and things get a little darker.

The ending will punch you right in the feels. Even though you can see it coming, and you're hoping it won't happen, there's really no way around it.

Brindelier sets us on a truly epic quest, which (I think) will take us through the next two books for a conclusion. I'm excited to continue the journey!

Missy has certainly delivered once again in this third installment of The Keeper of the Wellsprings series. I loved that I was shocked by certain things. We were introduced to a few new characters and some I liked and some I did not. I love reading Margy growing up and coming into her own. There is heartache and excitement all mixed into this one big adventure! You are just pulled into this book and will finish in one sitting because it is so magical and you do not know what will happen next. I cannot wait to dive into the next one.

I absolutely love this series. It just keeps on giving and I keep waiting for what sometimes feels like the inevitable "bad book of the bunch" to show up but so far this series is holding strong.

Brindelier starts off with the country on shaky ground as the prince's trial has taken far too long as the king is reluctant--understandably--to resolve the trial when he knows it'll mean his son's death.

The country is falling apart, everyone is uneasy, and in the depths of the city darkness grows. This had a new sinister edge to it that wasn't in the previous books. This evil feels different, more eerie.

I felt annoyed a few times with Tib who has a severe dislike for all mages across the board. And his own issues get in the way at a key point which resulted in major harm that wasn't rectified. It felt like he was so bent on having the last punch, on accomplishing other things first, that he sacrificed a person's well-being. I could understand making a grave error that results in someone else getting hurt. I can understand failing to fix the problem. But I felt like Tibs didn't even try. In fact, I felt like everyone was kind of unconcerned about the person in trouble. When Tibs has a chance to at least attempt a rescue he chooses to go after a needed item first and then doesn't have time to go for the person. Why didn't he go after the person first? Why didn't anyone try--despite the risk to save the person? That was my biggest issue with the story.

I also had to roll my eyes at the number of girls that fawned over Tib. Like, oooh, lonely, distant, reclusive boy. So cute. Rian's poking fun at Tib's oblivious nature was funny. But I did think having 3 girls be all googly eyed over Tib was a bit much. I also felt like the mutual attraction between him and one of the girls came out of nowhere. There didn't feel to be any sort of standard that explained why either one was all doe-eyed over the other. I'm not a fan of love triangles, so I can't say this new addition of starcrossed lovers and so many girls liking Tib and who will he end up with being added to this series. Fingers crossed it doesn't take forefront in future books.

Other then that, I really enjoyed this. I liked seeing so much of Azi and Rian--I missed them last book as it felt like they were secondary to Tibs--and it was interesting to see all the changes Azi had to go through and how both her and Margy had to face their differences and step out of their comfort zones.

As always, I really admire Rian's character. He does such a great job of facing his struggles and being honest about them. Sheldrake does an amazing job of writing him and making him seem like someone that you really can trust. It's not that he doesn't struggle, or that he doesn't slip up, but his control and morals are truly some of the best parts of who he is.

I loved the fairy's decision on what they needed to change to be an active part of Cerion's future. That was so fun to see more of their culture and see how they interacted with humans both in their own place and outside of it.

The battle/fight scenes were very well done and I couldn't put this down for any action scene. They flowed really smoothly and sprang right off the pages and into my imagination.

I'm not a reader of fantasy, so this has been a departure for me from the norm of my life, but I had heard so much about Missy Sheldrake and her amazing series, so a couple of years back, I picked up the first book of the series and found it immensely enjoyable. Of course this made me want to continue and read the second book, and it was even more incredible. Finally, I came to this, the third book of the series. The Call of Brindelier has done what I did not expect: it has surpassed the previous books with even more adventure, excitement, and wonder than I would have believed possible. Ms. Sheldrake has done it again, and now that she has come out with the fourth book in the series, I am looking forward to adding it to my collection.

Tib is back, and just as conflicted as ever, struggling with his distaste for Mages and Sorcerers while recognizing in his mind that the Mages of Cerion are actually very good people who practice restraint in the use of their magics lest the consume them and turn them dark.

Azi and Rian are in the forefront again and continue in the planning of their wedding, and the fairies of Kythshire play an amazing part in the story. Princess Margy decides to reveal some of her most personal secrets, and they lead her on the adventure of her lifetime. After all, Brindelier is calling...

Another amazing accomplishment by the very talented Missy Sheldrake. I can't wait to see what she will come up with next.
