They had the incredible ability to travel through time and experience cultures other than their own and with each trip, their strength increased. When they gathered pack artifacts that were precious to the whole of the werewolf population, their power seemed to increase.
The Committee took note of their growth and feared they would lead a rebellion against them.
Laura and Neil were too busy with their own lives to worry about some type of uprising; they were fighting back urges so strong, that they could change the course of history.
