Trey Jeffers. Fourteen years old. Trapped between an uncaring mother and her abusive live-in boyfriend. His only escape to get high with his friend while ditching school. When he meets Hayden and Kylee, two gorgeous teenage runaways that take him under their wing, he thinks it's a dream come true. And when he is swept away on a cross country chase involving a corrupt cop and a deadly cult, it becomes the adventure of a lifetime. Only then does he realize the true meaning of Family.
Wow, like I didn't see that ending coming. But I did figure out that Lucien was the leader of the cult. To know those two other girls went and killed a whole family let's me know Lucien is lying to Trey about the real intentions of the cult. Trey's need of security and family already roped him in, but to send these kids out to recruit through violence is just heinous! I feel like poor lil Trey never had a chance. Even if Lucien was to give him a better life, his soul is corrupted and he'll never know his real potential. Lucien was stalking him from jump, and now Trey's life is not any better than before just guilt free now. Wow he truly at fourteen years old vowed a life of celibacy and to become a cult leader!
I rarely rate a book with only one star. This book doesn't even deserve one. The writing wasn't that bad although in urgent need of a proofreader. I must admit there was enough suspense to keep me reading, but in the end it left me totally disgusted.
I read the Healer, and now Family, mystery, thrilling,
Adventure and suspense::: one of the characters played influence good and evil:: The second one a 14 years old boy was runaway, thinking was a dream come true:: until realize the true meaning of family::: the book is different not for everyone:: Recommended.
