Hammer: Wolves MC

Rate this book
Rachel

Beneath those gorgeous, rippling muscles lies a monster…a player, a bad boy – a murderer.

Sam Hammond has some nerve showing up to my baby brother’s funeral looking the way he does. He’s so disrespectful – all leather, shredded denim, long hair, and obvious tattoos. It’s like the bastard doesn’t even realize he’s the reason Terry is dead – or doesn’t care.

I know they say it’s Terry’s own fault, but I know better. Terry was just a sweet boy who fell in with a rough crowd. He made some mistakes, sure, but he never could have murdered a man in cold blood.

Now, don’t be fooled by Sam’s hunky, bad boy he might look hot as hell, but I promise the man is cold as ice. See, Sam is the leader of the Wolves, a wild, rough biker gang my brother had no business being part of. And he’s responsible for a lot of the violence in this town.

Somehow, I know, Terry’s death is Sam’s fault.

I just have to prove it.

Sam

Rachel might be beautiful, but she’s untouchable – mostly because she hates my guts.

God help me, but Rachel is completely unbearable. The suburban princess clearly looks down on me and mine, including her own brother, and always has. She was never able to accept Terry for who he was – never wanted to step foot in our world.

And if I have anything to say about it, she never will. There’s no place here for a nine-to-fiver who wears little flowered dresses in our bars – no matter how sexy she looks in them. Especially if she doesn’t look twice at me.

She has no understanding of loyalty, of brotherhood, of all the things that make us Wolves a family. Because she’s so narrow-minded, she will never find out the truth of her brother’s death.

But I will.

That is, if I can keep the gorgeous, stuck up woman off my back.

I discovered this book in my kindle today and as I'm at a stage that nothing pleases me I started reading.
The story kept me interested until the end because I was curious about what really happened to the brother of the heroine.
The sex scenes are only the hero and other women. They call the club whores of "Thing". And come to think of it are what really they are. A hole to serve the members of the Club.
I found the ending a little rushed, because they hate each other and suddenly after the hero out of the coma they are together.
No further development or explanation.

I've been a reading funk, however, Hammer of the Wolves MC is helping to pull me out of my funk. The story line was good I was disappointed that the end felt a rushed. I would have like to read about the birth and the courtship. That aside I enjoyed reading.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!! AFTER THE FIRST PARAGRAPH REVIEW GIVES DETAILS ON THE CONTENT OF THE STORY!!!

Faith is a new author for me. is this a novella? I'm not sure but it seemed like one. I have a bit to say about hammers story before I move on to gators story. the story started out normal and detailed. fast forward to tony inks house and it was told like a hurricane. hence my novella reference.

rachael walks into tony inks, makes out with hammer as a cover, apparently it was so good she went home so hammer could take care of things and went right along prepping to have sex with him after despising him two days before. hammer don't come because he got the crap beat out of him and was now in a coma for three months. the minister and hannah filled her in on what happened with her brother and hammer woke up three months later with rachael standing by his side the whole time. before she tells the nurse he is awake she wants to lay with him and lifts the sheet and he has a hard on. the end.....hmmmm.....all this happened at the last quarter of the book. I know the story is continued and it will be played out with explanations but I think there could have been a lot more to hammer and rachaels story.

When Rachel loses her little brother to the gang she becomes wary of their motives, but when she loses him for good she knows who to blame. Sam Hammond is the bully she holds responsible for his death, but when she starts to investigate she realises that things are not as clear-cut as she thought, and her eyes are well and truly opened.
This book takes all the super sexy elements of a motorcycle gang and adds a little mystery and romance. Sam is hot and everything you would expect of a biker, but Rachel is very feminine, floaty, and pastel, not the kind of girl who usually hangs around biker gangs, and certainly not a groupie. Both lead characters are well-developed and realistic.
The plot is good, the story works well and the writing is good bar one thing. Everything seems to be duplicated; every sentence reiterated. It was still very readable and once you get used to the duplication you barely notice it anymore. Great read.

I liked her writing style..I liked Hammer and I like Rachel, but when we read Rachel thoughts and then Hammer's thoughts in takes place in the same time so you get the same scene just with his and her thoughts so I found myself kinda scimming. Over all the book is good and I did enjoyed it, it looks like there is going to be a good story line and I think it will be funny to watch Rachel getting to know and their rules in the Woves MC:))

HOT!!!!!
And they didn't even get around to actually having sex, but even I wanted them to by the end of it. Rachel and Sam are made for each other.
What a story! Seriously. I went into this thinking I was getting a hot romance, and it was, but it was so much more too. It actually had a decent story line with the biker aspect. I liked that they were not your typical bikers either. It was just a great plot.
I actually want to read book 2. So I'm off to find that now.

If you enjoy reading MC Romances, you will enjoy the start of the Wolves MC Series. I just hope the rest of the series keep me as committed as Hammer did.

Hammer is a high ranking member of the Wolves MC in LA. One of their brothers, Terry, was convicted of murder and was later killed in a hit in prison. Terry's sister, Rachel, is not accepting that her brother could have killed anyone much less a member of a rival MC, but she refers to them as a "gang". Yes, she is as vanilla as can be and knows nothing about MC's. She and Hammer but heads at every opportunity and she feels he and his "gang" are beneath her.

Rachel starts to snoop around to find out what she can about the murder Terry took the wrap for and gets herself into trouble and Hammer comes in to rescue her. She slowly comes around in her thinking and feelings for Hammer when he is jumped by the rival MC. The leader of the MC tells her what really happens and then she understands, but that is after Hammer is fighting for his life.

Read the book to find out if Rachel and Hammer get the opportunity for more or if she wasted too much time to grab the man of her heart and soul.

First off if your writing a MC book, please don't call it a gang. Their is a very big difference! And all the "let me explain this" crap was annoying as hell. There was no romance involved here. One minute he is banging sluts and she hates him, the next minute he is in a coma and wakes up and she wants him. Umm no doesn't work for me. All they exchanged were a few kisses and his "Leader" explained what happened while he was in the coma and she is in love/lust with him and the book ends. Nothing about the MC or brotherhood, just a lot of nothing. I won't be reading anymore in this series. I suggest the author read some other MC romance novels and get a few pointers.
I have never written a bad review before and don't mean to be unkind but I know quite a bit about bikers, MC's (having personal knowledge of them) and have read over 300 books about MC romances and this is by far the worst I've read. Sorry

I don't like the way it ended. I have so many questions. I like the story don't get me wrong but why did it have to end that way.

I'm glad it was free/Spoiler

I love a biker love story. This one was good, but too much repetition. What Rachel did in one chapter is repeated in the next chapter, just from Sam's view. I mean I love both POVs but there could have been a lot more story.
I mean he wakes in the hospital with a hard-on and it's over. Where did the relationship go from messing around in a room to the hospital??? I was left wanting more.
I did a lot of skipping in this book and even though the others are free on KU I probably won't be reading them. Especially if they are like this one.
Good read, just left me hanging and wanting from Sam & Rachel.

I loved this story but the end felt too much like a cliffhanger. And I oh so loved this story!! But that's not the reason this is a 3. It's mainly because of how the story was written. Granted the author wanted to give both characters their thoughts & all, but I got frustrated with what seem as going backwards. One thing I was VERY happy about is that even though the author would go backwards they didn't write word for word what had already been said or done. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I've actually quit books because I cannot get past repetitive writing.

Although there is a great story line, this book lacks a lot. The editing job is horrible to the point I have to stop and re-read several sentences to understand the meaning. This is also the first book of a series of five that I bought, so I am very doubtful the others will be better. The story is rushed and feels more like a journaling of events, then an actual book. I love biker books, but so far these books are far from reality and poorly written. The only reason I gave it two stars is because there is potential within the story line.

Disappointed

Some of us read books as a escape. We want to read of heroes and heroines. Of strong men and strong women. I'm not saying it has to be all sunshine and roses, that would be boring. Intrigue, mystery, suspense, love, adventure is what draws us n to want to keep reading... sadly this book is page after page of bitterness, resentment and nagging. Missed the mark by a mile. Read over half the book before I gave up and wanted to slap her silly.

3.5 Stars

It was a really good, well-written story with a really great plot. I loved the characters. So, why did I give it a 3.5 rating? Because everything was going good and dandy and then BAM it ended. We get a HEA but it feels rushed, unfinished. That aside it's a fast pace, enjoyable read!

Rachel was extremely snooty and judgmental, I couldn't even begin to like her. I think Sam was beyond the pale as far as a character, he was exceptionally crass and wasn't someone I'd want to be around. I found the religious and rather sanctimonious tone the book took towards the end to be really weird all things considered.

Don't get me wrong this was a good book, but the ending was really rushed, and every chapter was hard to keep up with. There was a lot of things that I feel were left out of the story that should have been there. I will not be reading anymore of this series, but that is because I don't want to have to keep up with the back and forth crap in the chapters.

Reality

The cover was impressive. Uuummmm the rest, well Hammer was not book boyfriend material in my eyes and Rachel was a true representative of probably every reader true thoughts about real bikers. Reason, for at least me, in reading MC books is for the fantasy not the reality. Concrete was an interesting character and the small glimpse of Gator was too.

My first book from this author. I did not like this book, I should have DNF'd but kept pushing through in an attempt to find the "Gotcha". I found the /h to be arrogant, judgmental, and ignorant. The "investigation" she lead was OTT ridiculous. While I love a good a$$h*le story the H/ Hammer was not it. I found him crass and boorish.

Intetesting read

Interesting but a little confusing read. Didn't get clear answers to events occurring in the plot line until very end and those was vague.
Warning: This book leaves off with a HUGE Cliffhanger.
Wonder what's going to happen with the Wolves MC.

This is my first book by Faith Winslow, this book is very well written and the characters are very well developed. I loved how I felt connected to the characters and I found it very hard for me to put this book down. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Good

I really loved this book but what did it for me was the ending....I don't mind cliffhangers but the second book is about Gator...my opinion the author should have took the time to finish this book out and not got into rush...hoping to more but not in this series....

I read this every coffee break I could take today. What a great MC story. But it cut it off a little too soon at the end I.hope the author continues the story.

This book a great MC book and it shows how they are good and bad. Some books only depict good MC or bad MC but this one depicts real MC. Can't wait for book 2.
