Given to the Alien #2

Alien Invader's Baby

Rate this book

Dani Smith is the best space marine in Space Force, defending Earth from alien invaders. Despite her stronger and stronger feeling that war isn't the best way to deal with everyone mankind meets in the galaxy...

But Space Force only really fears one alien species: the beautiful, but extremely deadly Ethereals!

When one of them suddenly turns up, it's enough to stop a huge battle, as both sides retreat in a panic. But the supernaturally gorgeous alien Crixael seems to only have eyes for Dani with the curvy hips. And he steals her heart right away!

But the last time the playful, but intensely cruel E‏thereals came to invade Earth, millions died. Dani's own father lost his whole family and much more besides. Space Force, with thousands of elite space marines, has only one way to deal with them: retreat!

Drop-dead gorgeous Crixael is tenacious in his secret courting of Dani. Can she really allow herself to fall in love with one of mankind's most lethal enemies? And if she does, can she trust him? He doesn't seem to be like other Ethereals. But Earth has been tricked by them before!

Still, Dani has a few secrets of her own. And the fact that her name most certainly isn't 'Smith' is just one of them...

I had such fun reading this book!

Dani is a space marine and she defends the Earth against bad aliens. There are two kind of deadly aliens in the galaxy: a) Vlon’s which look like huge cockroaches and b) god-like, gorgeous, sparkly Ethereals.

Guess with whom Dani is gonna fall in love and have a baby. Yes, it will be Crixael an Ethereal who saves her from a huge cockroach and becomes part of her life.

Ethereals can be cruel and lethal. They love moving in space, exploring new civilizations and when they get bored of a planet, they wipe it out taking as many prisoners as possible and basically use them for lunch and dinner. They can eat any living breathing organism. No problem there.

The difference with Crixael is that he is half Ethereal and half Earthling. And as he discovers at some point -and this astonish him deeply- he can also have feelings and emotions. But he is still cruel and he still craves exotic flavors. He actually ate alive the huge cockroach when he saved Dani and he enjoyed the taste :)

And later when they meet again, Crixael is chewing a bone and Dani takes it to analysis afterwards to make sure it is just chicken and not the bone of a fellow marine officer. Ok, that was funny.

Ethereals also murdered her father's family and wiped out Earth's colony on the Moon before Dani was born. So, everybody hates Ethereals. Everybody is scared of Ethereals. You need to understand that they are basically Gods. They just appear and everybody is “dust”. They love calling everybody else “dust” by the way.

I liked Dani. She is not particular beautiful, but she is strong and passionate. I liked also Crixael. He is so sarcastic sometimes and he has such a strange sense of humor, but he is also cool and faithful. He was new in the game of love but he did great. They both made sacrifices several times trying to save each other.

The title is a bit misleading. Yes, there is a pregnancy going on, BUT it is not the main feature of the book. THE MAIN FEATURE OF THE BOOK IS A GREAT LOVE STORY!

Several times I didn't finish this book but I kept slogging on just to see how they were going to kill an all-powerful being. Here's the thing, I understand that there's a big market in BBW sf/shifter/paranormal romances and I'm a big girl myself BUT I do not want to have to read about someone's freakishly large "jiggly" hips and "booty" OVER AND OVER. I mean we even have to have a scene where the hero has trouble getting her jeans off of her big hips and butt--despite the fact that he has the ability to make her clothes disappear or just fall off. But my biggest problem was how little her common sense and self-preservation ability mattered in the face of a well-hung alien. This is not a case of he had to win her over to see his humanity or she questioned herself and doubted herself again and again, no, she jumped right into bed with him, even having grown up on the stories of the cruelty and devastation of his kind. She acted like a brainless slut. There needs to be some resistance, some doubt, some challenge in order to make a good, credible story. Even the sex scenes weren't good. No, just some basic, blah sex with no real foreplay and very little description (other than juices, ew). Really? Killing the evil queen really was the best part of the story. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Dani and Crixael. When we first meet Dani is is a lieutenant in the Space Force when she hears something across her com-unit that will change her life forever. Everyone knows when they hear the call "Phantom" something bad is there. That something bad was there, that something was the Ethereal. They are considered the meanest beings in the galaxy. So far only Dani's parents have defeated one. Since that time they have had special iron swords made up to attack and kill the Ethereal. The problem is Dani can't get this Ethereal out of her mind. What happens when two warring species find a connection that transcends them both?

Crixael knows he has been given an assignment by his Queen to bring Dani to her so that she might torture over and over again. She is going to hurt her parents by hurting her, but Crixael finds himself reluctant to do her bidding. He wants to know more about this human. He finds himself feeling more for her than he has for any other creature including his Queen. But what happens when one of the most powerful beings develops feelings that he has never had before?

This is a full story that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. In this story we find two people from different species that find a way to find love. They might not kn ow what it is at first or what this will mean for them or their people but they know that the bond is more than either of them can stand. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

This is a very unusual but extremely interesting book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This story covers Dani Smith (aka Princess Danai'a) who is a marine in the Space Force that is fighting aliens called Vlon's when she meets Crixael, a beautiful, deadly and gorgeous Ethereal (Alien) and over a period of time they develop feelings for each other and become involved. In this story you will find action, drama, suspense, bombs exploding, war with aliens, falling in love, a alien queens jealousy, unplanned pregnancy, spaceships exploding, feeling of betrayal, a alien queens lust for killing, the killing of a alien queen, a new alien king, and erotic scenes. The story-line is impressive and well written, the plot is taut and terrific. The characters are well developed, tangible and realistic with their feelings, desires and needs. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a extremely good alien book With a HEA.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I loved it and couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Calista uses strong characters and great story lines. You will love reading about Dani and Crixael. Dani is a living the life of a space marine. But she is anything but just a space marine. Walking in her mothers foot steps. Crixael is a half Ethereal alien whose kind murdered her fathers family and wiped out man kind on the moon. They are called the "Phantoms". Dani finds something different about Crixael and Crixael finds her more interesting by the minute. Will there attraction lead to something? Or will what he is cause his death by the marines?

Thanks Calista Skye for the ARC for my honest review.

I was not sure what to expect with this title and book...but I really enjoyed it. It seemed different and fun, sad, scary all at the same time. I give it a solid 4.5

I don't read a lot of alien romance books-so I don't have a good comparison, but I got sucked into the story. Dani and Crixael were fun to read about. Not a dull moment. I would recommend this to any romance reader for something fresh, and different to try. Let me know what you think.

Very enjoyable story with a gutsy heroine and a god like hero. Danni has a mix of smart, sexy, crazy, and guts. She gives Crixael a chance and opens her heart to him. Crixael in turn opens up and for the first time feels realike emotions. He is arrogant but kind and saves Danni and others many times. For an Ethereal he is very loving and sweet. I also loved the HEA ending.

Really a good read

This was so much more interesting than I expected. Don't mean that in a bad way. It has entertaining sassy dialogue, hot sexy scenes, and HEA romance. A really good alien romance

great book

The baddies in this book scare the wits out of every human alive, they are enemy No. 1
What this (for me) author has done is like a work of Socrates and Shakespeare, the way the alien thinks, analyses and talks is a wonderful piece of write. World, that expresses what it would feel like to be a God and the biggest problem is boredom.
The story is great! Humanity’s first thought is to shoot and then ask questions! And this book crossed the idea that no-body is right all of the time, while somebody can be right some of the time.
Bad review but give it a read, this author is great.

I Rediscovered This

So long ago I had read Alien Invader's Baby half way through. Then it got lost in the shuffle of all my ebooks. I started reading it today and finished it this evening. So GOOD!

It's a sequel but can be read separately. It's basic premise is god-like alien becomes very curious about cute, military, BBW sergeant, who also happens to secretly be a princess. They battle deadly aliens together. Their banter kept me hooked. They are so good together. It was a fun read.

It’s a freaky story.

I don’t know if I like a character born from a race of sorta cannibals. I don’t know if I like the constant emphasis on how beautiful or enticing a race of cannibals is. I don’t know if I like that the author basically turned them into sort of guardians at the end of the book. Which I believe would be highly unlikely at that.

I can only say I liked the first book in this storyline, Ator’aq and Olivia’s story. This one was too out their for me.

Loved it!!

This is really a second book. Dani is the daughter of Olivia in "Given". She is a strong alpha female and the hero is just too awesome for words. He is vulnerable and strong and endearing. Dani is a marine and princess and half breed. This book has a great story line. There are some steamy scenes too. I loved this book!

This book was well written but the synopsis doesn't explain how gruesome the alien Ethereals are. It just kind of turned me off so it doesn't mean it's not well-written but it's not something I'm personally interested in. I've read a number of books by this author which is why I took a chance with this book and I will read more of her books in the future. To each his own.

Loved this book.

I enjoyed all of the action, the hot romance and I felt the grief that was felt by Dani when her friends were killed. This is a book that I have read over and over and will probably read again in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story.

The characters in this book are deep and interesting. It is full of suspense with plenty of action and surprises. The romance unfolded very well and kept me anxious to see how things were resolved. A good read.

Dani Smith is more than just a Sgt in the Space Marines - she's a princess under cover. When your mum is the boss and dad is King of the Braxians, Dani has a real need to fly under the radar. But just as she begins to doubt whether she really wants to continue being a Marine, Earth and its allies face the biggest threat. Bigger than the Vlon - the Ethereals are back!!!

Crixael, an Ethereal and Human hybrid is not like the other Ethereals. He may have the god like looks and powers but he curious about other races and isn't keen on eating the sentient ones!! When he saves Dani from a sticky situation he becomes fascinated by her and puts both Dani and himself in the line of fire from his queen.

Dani and Crix are an awesome mix. Both are strong characters and fleeing from their past. During the adventure Dani faces unmentionable loss and guilt and struggles with her feelings and lust for Crix. Crix meanwhile is losing his powers at the whim of his queen and struggling to make sense of the things he feels for Dani. As an Ethereals he should think of all other beings as "Dust" but he never felt this way about any other Dust.

With tugs on the hearts strings, passion filled romance and space adventures there is something here for everyone!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. I sat down and started reading, only I ended up so sucked into it, that I didn't even make myself a coffee because that would have meant putting down my iPad. That was not happening! There were funny bits, alien bits, sad bits, dark bits, action bits and some hot bits but the story was so well written that it flowed seamlessly. It is a next gen book and now I have to go read the first story Given to the Alien so I have a better understanding of some of the characters and how that story leads into this one, however this isn't required, it can be read as a standalone novel. Reading the first novel is something I am looking forward to doing though as I like the back ground information. If your a scifi and romance lover than this book is for you. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have.

(I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

I liked the characters, the story and the writing style. The heroine was tough but, contrary to my expectations, not annoyingly so. The hero was different and unusual too. I was pleasantly surprised and at times even shocked by the world created and the turns of events. I wished there would be more books set in this universe, so some of the other characters could tell me their stories too. (Yeah, I’d skipped the part in the blurb that said this is a sequel to Given to the Alien.)

Re-reading said blurb now I realize it’s all in there, really; and yet the journey makes it much more than that. The feelings are realistic, the motives believable. And there is plenty of action, drama, deviousness, love and aliens.

This was my first contact with this author’s work, but it won’t be my last.

This was a highly unusual very exciting read. Dani is in the Space Force who is fighting aliens when she meets Crixael he is gorgeous both are very attracted to the other. When things gets hot and heavy with an unexpected pregnancy things just might have got more dangerous for them all. If you love a thrill that is full of danger, drama, jealousy, betrayal, action and so much more than you will want to pick this up. It is a very well written story that has no trouble keeping you invested in the read pulling you in and taking you way to another place and time. This was a story I just couldn’t put down.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. It is about a princess who is a working Space Marine (undercover). She encounters an immortal who falls in love with her. I really enjoyed how Crixael moves from being half human to having all human feelings toward mankind not just Dani.
Please read this book as it is warm, sad, happy and loving and yes even a few tears may fall.

This is a love story to end all love stories.

This was a great read. Crixael is a half Human-Half Ethereal an evil sentient being eating alien. Dani is Space Marine and a 1/2 Human and 1/2 Braxian Princess. He finds her and saves her life and it's love at first sight almost. They have a lot to overcome to have the HEA they want and it is an exciting journey for them both. There is death of thousands. Jealous Queens. Horrid alien non-human cockroaches the Vlon. It's a dangerous world.
