***Author's note - this cover has since been updated***
Trace Meyers doesn’t do relationships. Never has and never will. All he wants is a good time and he has no problem walking away from a satisfied woman. And they are always satisfied. Until fate places Sophie Burke in his path. Literally. She is young and beautiful and everything he thinks he doesn’t deserve. Too bad he can’t stop thinking about her.
Sophie Burke feels an instant connection with Trace the minute she lays eyes on him. She’s not fooled by the act he puts on for those around him. She may be inexperienced but she’s not stupid and she knows deep down he must feel it too. She’s running out of patience and he’s running out of reasons to stay away.
A chemistry like theirs could ignite a passion and need that neither of them have ever experienced before. Are they willing to take the risk?

The Blue Falls series Worth the Chance – Book 1 Worth the Risk – Book 2 Clipped – A Blue Falls Novella (Fall 2016) Worth the Fight – Book 3 (coming winter 2016/2017)
Stella James is a Canadian indie author of the romance variety. She enjoys reading, yoga and fitness, a good rosé and the occasional beer (because, Canada). She currently resides on a small acreage with her husband and three young daughters.
Wow! I am so thankful I won this ARC in a giveaway. I was eager to read Traces story and what a story it is. The sex scenes bounce off the pages. Very hot and sexy. He falls for a sexy redhead who matches his personality. Again, an easy wonderful read. The plot was done perfect with a HEA plus a magnificent epilogue. Love it!!!
Well, I am finally finished this book and all I can say is that this book is not for me.
SPOILERS AHEAD WARNING!!!!
I will start with the first reason:
1- The hero is a manwhore l who is still sleeping around after he says he wants and loves the heroine. This is just bullshit! Aka Melissa the snake ass ho!
2- The hero allow this ho to ridicule the heroine about an epically tragic experience the heroine has suffered. Sorry but even an asshole should have told her to shut the f*ck up. She was traumatized here and this ho was making fun of it. Like its an amusing thing to be chained and abused!! Really! Even a stranger would have said something but the hero nope! Just lets that shit go and then goes home to f*ck this ho. * note this is where I stopped reading because I was sooo pissed and then I forgot the story. However, as I read the first few pages it all came back!
3- The heroine has no real spine here! Just a few nice words and she is all over his dick! I am done! Nope don't like sluts inside a Virgin body! Not for me thanks I full up on slutty behavior in this book.
4- Everything was so vanilla it was boring their lives together sounds like every modern day arrangement with some oh drama Bitch fest slap down, Massive accident, Found mom. I am making it sound too good here. It's not!! REALLY NOT!
5- Too long and boring for nothing.
Now the only reason why it has two stars is because of the epilogues. Yes EPILOGUES! I have a thing for awesome epilogues that let me know they work together in the end!!! This is a great one so 2 stars.
Safety: He is faithful after they have sex, he has other woman and drama, they get together they stay together, condoms used but she is on the pill also.
Not for me here so I will not be recommending this book to anyone.

2.5 stars I knew going in it was going to be about a manwhore and his virgin. I didn't like trace at all he was weak IMO there's nothing more that I hate than a hero who's weak thinking he doesn't deserves the heroine and decides to sleep around with women yeah you read right WOMEN not woman unless I read it wrong but that's how it was in the book. He fucks this Melissa chick and this chick is nasty to the heroine but the hero doesn't have the decency to defend the heroine so yeah I agree with him he doesn't deserve the heroine at all then. I loved Sophie she was strong and she put him in his place but it makes me wonder if she didn't he wouldn't have gone after her then?? Yeah he pulled his head out of his ass but sorry it was too late for me after they got together he was good to her. This author knows how to writes epilogues even though I didn't like this book the epilogue was awesome with babies. Can't wait to read Walker and Mona's book. It will be amazing from the teaser that i read.

I'm not going to lie, this book had me gritting my teeth pretty much right out of the gate. I was tempted at 6% to cut my losses and move on. I stuck it out because I enjoyed the first book and it's seconday characters so much that I wanted to revisit them. I had a bad taste in my mouth about Trace from the first few pages.
Trace was that guy who used a horrible childhood as an excuse to be a womanizing manwhore. He slept with women and didn't think twice about them. He had one nasty whore that he frequently slept with named Melissa. She was just a horrible excuse for a human being. (don't worry, she got what was coming to her......) This was the skank he was screwing at the start of the story. Anywho... His father was a drunk and his mother deserted them when he was 13. So that led him to believe that he didn't deserve happiness and he certainly didn't deserve someone like sweet Sophie.
Sophie was a 21 year old woman who was kidnapped by a man who kept kids/young adults as slaves on his farm. She had been captive for about 24 hours, chained in the basement but somehow saw a brief opportunity to escape. She ran all night through the woods making it to a main road where she was nearly ran over by Trace.
Trace immediately felt a connection to this woman but he had a shitty childhood so he didn't deserve someone so sweet. *insert dramatic eye roll here* He did his best to avoid her, talked to her like she annoyed him and tried to make everyone believe he didn't feel anything for her. Noone bought it, not even Sophie.
She confronted him , stood up to him and basically blasted him for his major pity party. You didn't see her being a whore. Her parents died when she was 3. Her grandma died when she was 15 forcing her into foster care. At 18 she was kicked out of her foster home. Then the poor girl was kidnapped by a cult like leader and chained in a basement. I mean talk about a shitty start.
So all that being said, Trace, after being blasted by the only woman he has cared about, promptly removes his head from his ass. He decides he's all in. He begs for her forgiveness (he did give a pretty decent grovel ) and sets out to make her happy. At this point, this guy does a complete turn around and is awesome. I still wanted to be mad at him, but he kind of won me over. Don't get me wrong, he isn't getting any invites to dinner or anything but yeah he treated Sophie like she was the most precious person in the world. They were 100% together from that point on.
heads up. ... --Trace was a manwhore and the story opens with him having sex with that Melissa broad. He has to think of Sophie to get off. Gross! He tells Melissa that night was the last night he was sleeping with her and he treated her like the hoe she was. --Sophie sees him leaving the bar that night with Melissa. They make eye contact and Melissa throws petty insults at her and Trace just pulls her the other direction. --you can't have a raging manwhore without the virgin heroine. Yep!
I do feel that the author pulled his "redemption" off though. Once he decides to stop fighting his feelings, he is a hero that dreams are made of. 100% devoted. He puts Sophie on a pedestal and there is no ow drama involving him.
Also, this author rocks the epilogues. She gives it good! It gained back some of the rating for me.
If you can get past the initial ow sex scene and him pushing the heroine away, this is a pretty good read. The next book is about their friend Mona (who was feisty and fantastic).
Even on reread after that initial ow scene, I still love Trace. He really does love Sophie. And man do I love this author's epilogues.
Original review September 2016
Well, I have to say, I really did not like Trace until about 25%. Then, he started to grow on me. Honestly, the scene with Melissa in the beginning was unnecessary and did cloud my judgement as far as he was concerned. It's just a pet peeve of mine when There are other ways he could have overcome his frustration.
But that aside, he turned out to be great and redeemed himself. I did feel he loved Sophie very much. I understand his hesitation in the beginning and thinking he wasn't good enough but it did piss me off too. I love though, how Sophie told him off and let him know she wouldn't put up with his behavior anymore.
On a side note, this author knows how to write epilogues and since I'm an epilogue whore, this books gets a whole star just for that. I'm looking forward to Mona's book but I really can't wait for Kate's....I hope it's a good one.
I read and enjoyed the previous book 'Worth the Chance' but I wasn't going to continue on with this series until I read the sneak peak and then I knew I had no choice. Trace as we know from 'Chance' is a huge man whore but I'd hoped his meeting Sophie would instantly change him this wasn't the case and I'll admit he annoyed me with his 'I'm not worthy' approach. He has sex with easy women he doesn't like or care about because he doesn't feel he deserves better. I nearly stopped reading because it soon became apparent that after the strong start this was just going to be your everyday romance but I continued (skimming) on mainly so I was up to date and ready for what I hoped would be Mona's book because she's an absolute star, she's funny outspoken and independent. Unfortunately Mona's book 'Clipped' isn't out yet so I have to wait.
Wow! This one kept me on the edge of my seat, and I loved it! The community once again was so sweet to open their arms and grow it's family. Can't wait to read more of Blue Falls!
In the beginning of this story I was not very impressed with Trace. It wasn't even his manwhore ways. It was the fact that he had stronger feelings for Sophie than he's ever had but "he just isn't good enough for her". That drives me a little bat shit crazy, just sayin'. So BE good enough. WORK at being the man she deserves. I get it. He had a tough childhood but he's a cop, has great friends, cares about people. What makes him so unworthy? Anyways, he does finally get over it and then he is pretty amazing. I really liked Sophie and her kind and forgiving heart. These stories are pretty low on the angst and that is just what I need sometimes. I can't wait for Mona and Walker.
The truth is, I’ve never in my life wanted someone the way that I want you. I felt it the minute I laid eyes on you and I’ve been feeling it every day since. The other women that you’ve seen me with are nothing to me but a distraction from what I really want but feel like I can’t have.
Cue my pissing myself laughing....really ANOTHER stepford book of the cliched underserving manwhore and his spineless doormat little virgin. Seriously? This pathetic story trope is what women lower themselves to think is something worthwhile? Bloody hell readers, get some backbone and come into this century! Our suffragettes are turning in their graves.
Even though this is a standalone book I read Worth The Chance right before and I didn't want to put either one of them down. The way this story starts out with the introduction to Trace & Sophie has me gasping reading faster then my eyes could keep up. The way Stella writes it just feels so relatable and yet at the same time these men are in my dreams. I love how you get a bit of everything rolled into the story. We have the suspense and hotness mixed throughout. Will absolutely be reading more from this women that's for sure.
4 Stars!!!! So sweet and sexy! "Worth The Risk" Blue Falls Two by Stella James.
*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*
"Worth The Risk" is the second in the Blue Falls series. Stella James is a fairly new author and this book is her second as well. This fast, steady-paced story with likable characters and little to no angst features the story of Trace and Sophie. I say "little angst" because each time a conflict arose, it was resolved quickly enough to satisfy me each time. As with most novellas, because they are so short, we don't expect a lot of back story. So of course expecting none I was pleasantly surprised. The author gives enough to paint a small picture of the past. I was able to understand and connect better to Sophie and Trace as a result of this. Their personalities and emotions made more sense that way.
In this story our couple got together pretty quickly and throughout the story I kept waiting for that proverbial "ball" to drop and tear them apart. But as I said earlier, any conflicts that arose were resolved quickly enough but still giving the factors of concern, and then satisfaction with a smile.
Sophie...from the beginning I mistakingly assumed she would be a timid character with dependency issues. (You'll have to read to find out why) But Sophie was anything but. She was bold, assertive and determined to get her man!
Trace......my favorite character. Not just because he was sexy, gorgeous and tatted. Of course that was a perk! Trace had an alpha personality, yes, still he was extremely sensitive to Sophie's feelings. With Sophie, Trace could let his guard down. It was he who I worried would not have his HEA.
"I wanted to ruin Sophie for any other man but I'm pretty sure she just ruined me."
The supporting characters, two of which featured in the previous book: Lily and Cole, were a nice addition to the story. Mona was ballsy and funny and her story is told in the next book, "Clipped." And then there's Kate. We have gotten a couple of teasers in the first two books about her story which is titled "Worth The Fight." I think I am anticipating Kate's story the most.
All that being said, I smiled a lot, especially toward the end. Trace is definitely "book boyfriend" material. I totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick sexy read and a satisfying HEA. I loved the epilogue.....
4.5/5 Man whore turned loyal alpha Emotional Tortured hero Virgin sweet as pie herion I love how this author takes us through their whole story. It does not feel rushed! Easy to read flow well. A must read
It's not "safe" because he meets her, yet sleeps with another women.
I really enjoyed this story! I love the closeness of this group of friends and family! The story of Trace and Sophie was beautiful and I loved everything about it! Trace I loved, his past was heartbreaking but in the end everything worked out in a sad yet good way. Sophie was tough and strong and I loved her fierceness! Together they were hot and amazing!
This didn't feel like a book to me... It felt like a summary of a few moments in a couple's relationship. No depth at all, no drama and when there is, it's summarised and brushed over so easily. I mean the girl gets in a bad traffic accident and it's all done and over with within a few paragraphs and it's suddenly months later. I felt no emotions towards this book :/ If this is the authors writing style, then I won't be reading her again ... (Sorry)
•Love this story. •Fast read, just a little ow drama, but it was over quickly. •Epilogue:2 months, then, 4 years, 5 years, then 10 years then 13 years after that.
Trigger - H is a cop who rescues h after she had been abducted. Flash forward 6 months later and the first scene is him with ow. That's the only time.
It was sweet, similar to the first book but a little hotter. Trace was being a bit boneheaded but he came around. Sophie was great sweet but no pushover.
I love the books of Blue Falls, and I'm not really sure why. Its good, but the writing is a little choppy but I cant even bring myself to care. I just loved this book and the first one. I loved Sophie, she was so sweet but the thing I loved the most is that she was so dang strong. I loved how tough she was. It was great to see that in a h.
DNF. As I feared, after a brief intro... we get the male lead fucking some other woman who isn't the lead female... even tho we know she will be his HEA and he has met her. Pisses me right off. Completely.
I'm so happy Iv stumbled upon this author Stella James.
Worth the Risk is an amazing read and great follow up of Worth the Chance. You still get those characters you fell in love with in the first book and you still see what's going on with them. I devoured this in one night and it held my interest throughout the whole book. The story line and everything these characters go through was well played out and the author gave a great description of everything Trace and Sophie have gone through in past and everything they were going through now.
Trace and Sophie had me hooked from the first chapter. The connection they had from the start was off the hooks, but even with both of them having rocky past (no spoilers here, read the book to find out) I was still slightly worried about them and their future. I need an HEA. I LOVED Trace from the first book "Worth the Chance" I wanted him gifted that beautiful HEA. Sophie is that beautiful red head, porcelain skin firecracker. She is the perfect person for this bad-boy, tattooed, alpha-loving cop.
Spoilers aren't happening here. This is an amazing short fast read that can't allow for slip ups. This book is worth the read. Take a chance on the author Stella James and fall in-love with her alpha men.
Beautiful love story!!! I loved this book from beginning to end never a moment when I didn't feel good reading it. the author gave us just enough background on the main characters so we didn't feel lost. it was a love story that wasn't overwritten and kept me interested with each and every page. this book allows us to feel that love can win in a messed up life. It was perfectly balanced not too much of any one thing. the author opened the door for the other characters just enough to make us wanting more of them but not taking away from Trace and Sophie's story. I love how in love I fell with both of them. A definite must read love story that you will never forget. 5 star read for sure.
This was a great read. I just love how Sophie the heroine was written sweet kind hearted, understanding, self Worth, strong. And most of all common sense in a heroine. With a (Trace) the alpha male who was sexy, willing to with falling in love with a great girl. And a story that was sweet, sexy and easy to read on a lazy Sunday. Can't wait for more from this author and series I think Kate and Asher is next
YES!! I loved this one more than the first one and I loved the first one.
I read the preview of Worth the Risk at the end of Worth the Chance, leaving me on pins and needles waiting for WtR's release day!! I definitely was not disappointed. Trace and Sophie's story is really sweet, smokin' hot and super emotional. Ah! I loved it so much!
Literally minutes after finishing Stella's first book, I started this one.
Once again the characters made me fall in love and I could t put it down. I loved Trace and Sophie and the sweet tale of their romance. There was plenty of heat too, but it was at the right times and just enough.
This book did not disappoint and I am so glad that I have one more book to expect in the Blue Falls series. I can't get enough of the wonderful cast of characters Stella James has introduced and the amazingly steamy love scenes I have come to expect don't hurt either.
This is the second book in this series and an absolute winner like the first. This is Trace's story and he is a no relationship kind of guy after watching the train wreck that was his parents marriage. This is all until he meets the one woman that he can't get out of his head, Sophie. This is an insta love and is a quick read. Their story shows how a strong young girl who hasn't had an easy time can show a big tough police officer that some things in life a worth the risk.
