Astrology, Nutrition and Health

Rate this book
Jansky explains how the signs of the zodiac relate to different parts of the body and how the houses of your natal horoscope are related to your food preferences and nutritional needs. He shows that the planetary aspects in your chart represent the flow of energy among the various systems of the body, which can indicate potential health problems. You will learn about the role of Saturn, representing protein in your diet, and how Venus controls the digestion of carbohydrates. You will learn that Jupiter rules the liver and the metabolism of fats, and that Pluto shows how enzymes work. Also, you will find out how to use your planetary transits to select the best time for elective surgery.

I have the original edition from 1977. Some things were a bit outdated with the research that was made since then. You should keep that in mind while reading and maybe do further research to confirm that the informations are still valid today.

I‘m very interested in nutrition and astrology. So I got very excited when I saw that there‘s an astrology book on the topic that combines these two!
It was very interesting and I will definitely try to find more books about this specifically.

"Although aspirin is now synthesized in the laboratory, it was originally extracted from the bark of the willow tree. In fact, until the 1930’s, most of the so-called drugs in the doctor’s satchel were extracted from natural plant substances. Quinine, from the South American cinchona tree, was used for the relief of fever and malarial symptoms. Digitalis, from the foxglove plant, relieved circulatory problems. Belladonna, a species of nightshade, was used to treat nausea and vomiting. Licorice and cascara were laxatives, and ipecac was the emetic used to induce vomiting. Molasses, from sugar cane, was mixed with naturally occurring sulfur and taken as a general tonic. Crude horse serums were used in the treatment of such diseases as pneumonia. " p.9

I love this book. It’s really hard to find information on the subject, especially the nutrition section, and it was surprisingly up to date despite being an older book. As someone with an ongoing interest in medical astrology this was an excellent read. I see some of the other reviewers said the information was out of date, but I disagree, I actually felt it was surprisingly relevant.

A very informative book covering the obscure topic of medical astrology & nutrition. I wish there was a list of foods ruled by each planet that was included because it would have been helpful and more specific.

I highly recommend this book for those studying medical astrology or for those wishing to incorporate this information into their health practice.
