Geralyn Corcillo has kicked another goal with Catch a Falling Star, if you'll pardon the cheesy pun. With her third full length novel, Corcillo not only reminds her fans that she is going from strength to strength, she reassures them she'll continue to keep it fresh and ridiculously entertaining. Catch a Falling Star includes the kinds of crazy antics (and their spectacular back-fires) that we've come to expect from Corcillo, but it also shows her diversity.

These characters are different than the ones we've come to know and love in her earlier work. Colin is serious - serious about his team, serious about his family and seriously into Wendy Hunter, as much as he doesn't want to admit it. Wendy is determined - determined to protect those she loves, determined to protect her career and reputation and determined to keep Colin at arms length. The ride these two take you on as they learn how to let each other in is anything but serious and determined though. It's messy, funny and as out there as you'd expect, coming from Corcillo.

With a fabulous supporting cast of familiar faces and some new friends thrown into the mix, Catch a Falling Star is like a Saturday night dinner party with old friends. It's familiar and fun, and you don't want it to end.

Reviewed for Chick Lit Central (www.chicklitcentral.com)

I’m such a huge fan of the "Love in the Limelight" series. I was very excited when given the opportunity to read about Wendy’s adventures, especially after reading about her through the eyes of the other characters in other books. This time, though, it’s told through Wendy’s own perspective, completely contradicting how so many others have seen her, for so long. It’s nice to hear her side of the story.

And then there’s Colin. A man who is so far removed from the life that Wendy chooses to live, that it’s hard to believe these two can have any sort of attraction for one another. After their one night together, he figured that was it. There’s so much about her he can’t stand. And, when Wendy makes it a point to tell the whole world she’s engaged to him, it could threaten to destroy everything he’s worked so hard for. Which is so totally like her. It’s all about the Wendy show, and everyone else is just a secondary character. Or, are they?

I loved the constant magnetic pull (and repulsion) Wendy and Colin have. It's nearly combustible! Just when I thought they may have a chance at having a go at a real relationship, it’s two steps forward, three steps back. Which completely had me on the hook. I never wanted to put the book down! What I also appreciated were the scenarios involving other characters from the rest of the Limelight series. No one was forgotten. I got to catch up on Lola and Arlen, from Queen of the Universe, as well as a surprise cameo from Miss Adventure herself, Lisa Flyte. Geralyn handled this effortlessly, inserting the beloved characters into Wendy’s world, as though they’d always belonged there. Which, come to think of it, they really always have.

While Catch a Falling Star stands alone quite well on its own, and can be read independently from the rest of the books in the series, I highly suggest engaging in all three! Geralyn has created incredible characters who stick with you, making it near impossible to read just one.

I'll be honest, I loved this novel so much that I forgot to take notes while reading. (Being a bit of a book blogger, I take notes while reading novels to help me write a well thought-out and honest review.) Catch a falling star follows the same characters from Corcillio's previous novel, Queen of the Universe. This time the main characters are Wendy and Colin. Their story is sweet and funny with a whole lot of wrong turns along the ride. I highly recommend this novel to anyone that loves chick-lit. Catch a Falling Star is the perfect example of what a romantic comedy should look like!

Wendy Hunter, at first glance, seems like a typical Hollywood actress. She seems to only care about herself and her fame, but she’s actually one of the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful and selfless individuals someone can imagine. She donates a huge portion of the money she makes to charities that she personally funded. She spends hours of her own time helping those who are less fortunate and she goes out of her way to do things that she wouldn’t normally do, but in an efforts to protect those she loves and cares about.

Colin Scott is a high school football coach that has worked hard to make his dreams of helping young men in his community a reality. When he meets Wendy Hunter, he unfairly judges her character and thinks she’s all about her and is selfish beyond belief. He slowly begins to get to know the real woman underneath the public persona and he begins to fall hard. But can these two work things out and overcome their differences when they’re both from two completely different worlds?

Themes; love, family, first impressions, hard-work, diligence, loyalty, selflessness

5/5 stars - romantic comedy perfection

Geralyn Corcillo has long been one of my favorite authors. Each of her books has grabbed me from the first page with the wit, charm and captivating nature of her writing. Catch a Falling Star is a delightful spin-off of her previous novel, Queen of Everything. It was so much fun to visit with Lola and Arlen again as I followed the steamy romance between Wendy and Colin. I felt like I was visiting with old friends! As always, Ms. Corcillo fills her story with just the right amount of hilarity and hijinks. Once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down! (Seriously, I finished it the morning after I started it…) And as the cherry on top, Jack and Lisa from Miss Adventure pop up toward the end of the book. What?! If you’re in the mood for a fun read with a side of sweetness, this is the book for you!

I am a fan of Geralyn Corcillo. She knows how to write a story about love
and intense feelings and her characterization of the H. and h. is pretty good.
I appreciate that this story is about Wendy, a character I liked
in a previous book. The plot is engaging and characters from two previous
books I loved make a star appearance.

Oh my goodness! This book had everything from comedy, romance, chicklit, secrets, and more! You can feel the attraction between Wendy and Colin that you want to reach into the book and shake them to wake them up. I enjoyed the not-your-standard ending and all of Wendy's secrets kept you guessing what would come next. Great vacation read!

I love this book which is part of series by Geralyn Corcillo. She has once again done an amazing job with bringing us an amazing chicklit story that has the perfect amount of romance, twists and turns that keep you guessing, and deeply developed characters.

I could not put this book down! I just wanted to know what would happen next with Wendy and Colin. Can Wendy convince him to play the part of her "one true love"? Could they actually be meant to be together? I highly recommend that you read this amazing book to find out how this story ends. I promise it's definitely worth the READ!

Corcillo does it again! Catch A Falling Star is fast, fresh, funny, real and sweet. A tour-de-force. The way her wonderfully-realized star-crossed lovers come together is film-worthy. I loved the alternating first-person voices and Corcillo's range in creating deep, real and true voices--of men, women and kids. I look forward to the next installment!

A great read with an odd twist, I really enjoyed the story and writing but I found the declaration of love a little strange. Still, overall a fun read.

DNF 11%. Story was too confusing to follow. New characters were thrown in without introduction, leaving you to wonder who they were and how they fit in.

The third book in this series, but the first that I actually finished. I gave up on #1 and #2 for various (and different) reasons, but I liked this third story.

Though it does not work as a standalone - you need to at least have met the characters of the first two books for this one to make sense.

This time, I cared for the main characters (I didn't really in the previous two books), and I kept rooting for them. There was less drama than in #2 (thank you for that, I mostly read for entertainment, and I prefer more lighthearted stories).

What bugged me a bit was the sheer number of POVs, also the mix of first and third person, but especially that pretty much all the secondary characters were written in first person, but the main story in third, which doesn't make sense to me. Why?

On the technical side, there were some minor typos and layout issues, but nothing too distracting.

Even one star rating is too high for this boring story. I don't even know if there's a story other than any or every pedestrian characters' POV to destroy whatever little is there.

I have been a long time fan of Geralyn Corcillo's work. I've loved the previous two books in this series and was so excited to read this one I bought it on preorder. When it magically arrived on my Kindle I devoured it! As always, the author's writing is snappy, fresh, and polished as she switches between different people's perspectives with ease, telling the story of star-crossed lovers. The main characters, Wendy and Colin, are well-developed and complex—they feel real and I found myself fully immersed in their story, wanting to know what will happen next and will they ever work things out? The answer is in the story and Corcillo takes you on a great ride getting there. She showcases her clever writing style as you get to catch up on the stars of her first two novels, see where they're at, and how their stories intertwine with and enhance Wendy and Colin's story. This is a fun, engaging, rom com romp with characters you'll be hard pressed not to fall in love with.

Entertaining

At first I had trouble keeping up with who the characters were and who was related or married to whom. I kept reading because it seemed like it would get interesting. I'm glad I did. It got interesting and intriguing, not to mention entertaining.
