This inspiring anthology brings together the words of classic writers of the past with some of Blue Mountain Arts most popular writers of today. It is the perfect gift for anyone experiencing a life change -- such as graduation, moving, or starting a new job -- or just in need of a reminder that dreams really can come true.
Inspiring is an understatement. It's more like... Empowering. =)
One of the most motivating, riveting and remarkably fascinating books I've ever read. It contains most of the powerful wisdoms put together in a single book, within a few pages, all in one compilation. Reading it felt like reading a library of books where golden knowledge thrives. Truly an eye-opener that must be read by those who dream and those who believe in their dreams; by those who are lost and wants to find their way back; by those who contemplate on which way to go among the crossroads; and by the many others who seek what they want to find in their venture of life.
I've never thought I would find pleasure in reading it. It was just something at the bottom of my list 2days ago, but every time I leafed through each page, it somehow felt like I have something new to ponder upon and new lessons to reflect to. Each prose taught something "meaningful" and by that, I mean something really relevant to one's life. It's not something one will read and later on disregard, given the fact that the theme can be yes, quite lame. But it's really something. It has this magic in it that makes you remember and think about what you've just read and suddenly you just find yourself continuing through the pages and finishing each piece up to the final page. I can't tell what and which one, perhaps it has something to do with how the sheets of paper were filled with every hue and color, and those artsy doodles of some sort that seem to enlighten each page and mesmerize the reader to keep going on... Or maybe it's really the words themselves. :p
The titles of each prose speak for itself too. Once you look at it you already have a bird's eye view of what to expect of that certain prose. As I neared the final page, I began to notice that the compilation of such poems and quotations of famous contemporary poets were actually arranged in such way that they show you how to build yourself step by step until you reach your goal in the same way you've imagined it to be.
If I were to be asked, I even felt compelled to savor the lines and re-read them until I quite memorize them, especially those that I find truly amazing. I've remembered several lines from the book and I just can't push away the thought and the fear that someday I might forget what they say.
It even compared life to many things - things that I didn't notice can be a perfect metaphor for life. It was compared to a puzzle, where every piece to complete it doesn't always turn out right the very first time. We replace them and try something more, we experiment until we find the missing piece. And when it's done, you see that wonderful picture you've long imagined and tried to complete; To a diary, where we try to fill every blank page with something new, and another day is another blank page to fulfill; To a star, which is like a dream - You cannot touch it, but following it leads you to your destination. I was dumbfounded with these comparisons, and it's just now that I realized how true each was.
I recommend. =) Though it can't completely be life-changing, it could be some guide to someone who feels like the rest of world walks out. It radiates direction. It helps you see your worth, and reminds you that you have a heart, a mind, and a soul. You hear them most when nobody else does.
