Bid Using ESP: Find Games Using Extended Shortage Points (ESP) In Contract Bridge

Rate this book
This short paper explains how I tested various hand evaluation techniques used in contract bridge using a large database of 275,000 bridge deals that were played in real competitions. Techniques tested include Losing Trick Count, Goren Shortage Points, the regular Milton Work Point Count and Extended Shortage Points (ESP) a system devised by me using linear regression algorithms. The techniques were scored as if they were played by different pairs in a competition. ESP was the best method at finding the right partscore or game. I explains how to use ESP at the bridge table, a technique that is both powerful and easy to use.
