Second Hearts begins with Charli in Africa with Mitchell. It's been about a year since they left home and Charli is loving the life she has but...she's still madly in love with Adam. And after a conversation with Mitchell, he convinces her that it's time to go to New York to see Adam, if she doesn't she'll always wonder what could have been. So, she goes. Lucky for her, Gabrielle owns an apartment for her to stay at, and sends Charli some New York appropriate clothes. Naturally, everything falls into place, until she sees Adam. Who now has a girlfriend. Thankfully, Adam didn't see her that day, and she decides it's time to head home. Except Gabrielle convinces her to stay, to stay because she actually likes New York not for Adam. To cut this down, Charli gets a waitressing job that Adam partially owns with his brother, Ryan. Fate is kind of funny, or crazy, or both. Anyways, once Adam finds out Charli is in New York he immediately dumps Whitney and he and Charli quickly fall back into their relationship. But not without a lot of drama. Because Adam's mom hates her, and so do Adam's friends. Seriously, there really isn't a Team Chadam there unless you count Ryan but he's cynical even at the best of times so things aren't all roses and butterflies. And then, Charli and Adam do the unthinkable. (SPOILER ABOUT TO APPEAR) They get married. Which only infuriates the queen (AKA Adam's mother, AKA Fiona) This also infuriates Alex, who by the way, was way too absent in this book. I kept thinking he and Gabrielle would appear or Charli would go visit but it never happened. Anyways, Charli and Adam had a deal though, a promise, he finishes law school in two years and then they leave New York. Because Charli is still a wanderer, an adventure seeker, and New York is dragging her down especially with all the family/friend drama. Of course, at the end we find out that Adam lied and he already accepted a job that will keep him in the city. He was banking on the fact that they were married and that he'd give her projects to keep her busy but that's not what Charli wants, and it quickly goes down hill. But fear not, this is not goodbye, this is simply an , " I'll see you later." Because both Adam and Charli are at these times in their live where they can't compromise no matter how much they love each other. So, in my opinion it was a cute story, though maybe not the ending most wanted but keep in mind: It's a SERIES, they will constantly go back and forth until the last book which I hope there will only be three because anything over three usually kills me.
Do you know the feeling when you read a really good book that really moves you and then after you're done you feel like you still hang onto those last pages, as if not wanting to let it go....kinda like the aftermath of a really amazing book.
So this is what happened to me and "Second Hearts". I already fell in love with "Saving Wishes", so reading "Second Hearts" was just an easy decision to make. Seeing Charli eventually follow Adam to New York and have her thrown in to a world that is more than foreign to her is beautiful, painful, hurtful and yet inspiring to watch. Above all, this book, and all it's characters make it feel so real....it's really hard to explain, but I read more than enough books that I connect with, just like this one, but the level of honesty this book has is really rare. I wish I could explain it all better to you guys, but this books is great on several levels and I enjoyed every moment of it. Sure, there were moments I wanted to strangle characters, but that's what a good book is all about. It just makes you wanna act on whatever a person has done, yell at them, cry with them or just comfort them!
I cannot wait for book three, so that my trip to La La Land can finally continue!
I finished the first book in this series, Saving Wishes, at 11:30 on a Monday night, not realizing it was part one of a series. I immediately downloaded Second Hearts, but thankfully I had enough wits about me to wait until Tuesday to start reading it, or else I'm sure I would have had to call in needing a mental health day. I have read it twice more since.
Second Hearts was enchanting. I love these characters, even though some of them are at their worst in this book. I love that this is a love story with actual, legitimate struggle in it, and that there's no expectation of the fairy tale ending. I think that Charli and Adam will have their happy ending, and I think I'm okay with their journey so far.
Charli Blake is so special. I wanted to live in her La La Land world as much as Adam did, I think. I wanted to see what it would be like so I could take my daughters - she made me believe in magic and see the need for more of it in all of our lives.
Moments in this book ripped my heart into little pieces, but other parts had my husband wondering what I was smiling about while I was reading.
After I finished the book, I took a deep breath and wiped away my tears. Then I downloaded Peter Pan and started researching fairies.
"What happens if it doesn't work out?" "Then it's not the end!"
Truer words never have been spoken. And just like that Charli is in her own fairytale. She conquered the wicked witch, managed the deceiving crowd and still, Prince-not-so-charming needs to find his way back to La La Land and to his princess. The ride couldn't have been wilder had we undertaken it on a dragon.
Desperate for book three, heartbroken for book two and ready to saving wishes so all can turn out well.
Ahhhh! That is kind of how I felt by the end of this book. The book picks up a year after Charli and Adam part ways and she realized she needs to go to NY and be with him. Then I was enjoying the book and thinking how I like how it is a story of what happens after and Adam kept being kind of lame, but I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt and like no no, he is good. I know Ryan was supposed to be the evil twin, but man I liked him WAY more than Adam in this book, especially after the ending. Up until about 40 pages from the end I was loving the story and couldn't wait to see where it would end up. Then
Charli Blake had left her home in Pipers Cove after she’d sent Adam away, declaring she didn’t love him anymore. (She lied!) She travelled with friend Mitchell and one year on was in the village of Kaimte in Africa, relaxing, working for the rent money and little else, still missing Adam and trying to decide what to do about it.
Deciding to go to New York, knowing she still loved Adam and wanted to be with him, she was nervous of her reception. Would Adam have moved on, would he have forgotten her? Her father Alex and his girlfriend Gabrielle, (also Adam’s cousin) were concerned for her, but the apartment which Gabrielle owned in New York was hers to live in while she worked out her future.
The shock and devastation she felt on her first sight of Adam, walking into the arms of another woman, was like a kick to the stomach. She decided there and then she wouldn’t let him know she was in New York as his future obviously didn’t include her; she would get a job and spend some time in the city he loved. Her pushy attitude soon had her a job in a nearby restaurant called “Nellie’s”, where she put up with the maître de on a daily basis. She also had no furniture except a massive bed in her apartment, but she was fine with that. She’d been living rough for a year all around the world, so no furniture in Gabrielle's flashy apartment didn’t bother her.
As Charli moved through the days and weeks in New York, she discovered herself mixing with Adam’s friends and the wealthy, obnoxious Décarie family. Her courage, her dreams and her belief in magic were taking a beating and her only friends seemed to be Marvin, the doorman, and Bente from her working place. Finding customer Elvis wasn’t who he seemed to be was a shock, but was he a friend – or not?
Will Charli’s indomitable spirit keep her ahead of her enemies, or will she be crushed by their nasty and horrible taunts; the hatred they seem to feel for her? Her impulsive nature with her love of all things magical and the wonderful stories she told (the La La Land which Adam had so loved), was it being taken from her?
I thoroughly enjoyed this, the second in the Wishes series, and I hope the third book isn’t too far away! I loved the characters, well most of them anyway;) Aussie author Walker-Smith definitely has a way with words! If you want to read this book, please do…but read Saving Wishes first; you’ll be pleased you did!
With thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.
This is by far one of my favorite series yet!! I've fallen in love with all characters which is rare! ((I read these way to quickly the first time but read them 3 times over)) I love the love Adam and Charli have for each other and it's a mature love and a smart way to think, even though they make decisions that sometimes makes me want to shake them! But, you have to give love a chance, you try; try again! Just as you would with anything else and if you know you love that someone and you know that someone does love you it may not be your time but you never know what faith/future/life/love/time/magic :) holds in store for you <3 thank you for such a love tale to immerse my mind with!
Adam: amazingly witty and refreshing for a lead male character. Charli: I'm in live with her mind! And tales! Ryan: oh ryan! :) such a smart ass but such a secretly sweet ass! <- totally hope he has his own book! Alex: Lala land <3 in love with the way he thinks and taught Charli
I'm a little out of words, just having finished this book......but I'll find some! I really enjoyed the first, but I loved, loved this one. The gentle moves from unhappiness to happiness to unhappiness again, we're both delightful and sad. Poignant and beautiful narrative has ensured that this book makes it to my favourite list. Charli and Adam are 'real' characters. More of Adam's flaws become apparent in this story. Once thing is for sure....I need more!
Oh, boy. Someone please tell me that the next book is out very soon, because I need it!
I was totally hooked by the end of Saving Wishes (see my review), and now I've been sucked in even further. Second Hearts has a different kind of feel to it, but I expected that. Saving Wishes was about the magical beginning of a relationship, while Second Hearts is about what happens next. There are still hints of magic here and there - when Charli arrives in New York she's full of hope and her usual impulsive self. Fate isn't going to let her have it easy though, and it's not too long before she starts to lose sight of La La land.
Oh no! Charli can't lose it. La La land is my favourite place to be. I adore Charli's tales of random fairies and nonsensical folk-lore. But when everything you believed has been torn apart and you're in a strange city, it's difficult to maintain your optimism. I feel like I'm speaking in riddles a little here, but I'm loathe to give anything away. You have to want to read it yourself.
Then there's that moment. That part in the book where everything is as happy as can be, and you just want things to stay like that forever. Unfortunately, at this point there's still a couple of hundred pages to go, and you now deep down that it's not going to be plain-sailing.
In a way, what happens is an echo of the story of Saving Wishes, but it's on Adam's territory this time and that makes a big difference. Can he make Charli want to stay, or can she make him want to leave with her? It seems cruel of fate to bind two people so tightly when they have such different dreams and goals. Are either of them weak enough to give in? Weak, I hear you ask? Is it weakness to give up your dreams to be with the one you love? Yes it is, because no matter how deeply in love you are, if you're not where you want to be, doing what you want to do, you're never going to be completely happy and that can turn love sour.
I fell in love with Charli all over again. She can be evil, bolshy and whimsical, and she drives most people nuts, but she's all kinds of amazing. We get to see a different side of Adam too, one that I'm not loving, but one that's more realistic. When Adam met Charli, he was on holiday - from himself as well as his life. Seeing him on home turf, back in his own habitat, of course he's going to be different. Some other great characters are introduced too, to replace the ones Charli left behind in Tasmania. Adam's brother Ryan has to be my favourite. He's the archetypal man-whore with a secret romantic heart. I would love to see a spin-off of his story. Fiona, Adam and Ryan's mother, is another great character. She's so aloof and proper most of the time, but then she lets go occasionally surprising bitchiness! Even dim Whit is an interesting addition to the cast.
If you haven't read Saving Wishes, I implore you to go and do so. If you have, what are you waiting for? Get Second Hearts right now and prepare yourself - there will be tears, and you will be mad at Walker-Smith's audacity in leaving us on our knees, begging for more!
Second Hearts picks up about a year later. Charli has been traveling, surfing and being the free spirit that she is. There’s just one thing- she hasn’t been able to get Adam Décarie out of her head. She is still desperately in love with him.
“I had traveled a thousand miles from home but hadn’t moved an inch.” –Charli
Charli decides that Kaimte, a West African village, will be the last stop on her journey; she is going to New York.
This book brings Charli into a new world- a world of money and wealth. She learns to survive in New York, using her street sense and tough exterior to make it. We meet memorable characters like “Elvis,” who helps her find her own way in the big city. Charli and Adam finally come together, despite the odds. The odds include- a preexisting vindictive girlfriend, Adam’s awful mother, and a group of exclusive, snobby friends. Charli, a natural born wanderer, starts to feel trapped. Adam has promised her that they can leave after he finishes his degree in two years, and that promise is the only thing helping Charli keep her head above water. What’s really frustrating about this book is how oblivious Adam seems to all of Charli’s struggles. He doesn’t see how his mom and friends are being two faced; he doesn’t see how unhappy Charli has become. I think he is trying so hard to hold onto this dream of Charli being in New York with him, that he is completely blinded.
“No one ever gets tired of loving someone, Adam. They just get tired of waiting and being disappointed and getting hurt.” – Charli
I think the world of Charli in this book. She is strong, ambitious and fights until the end to be with Adam. Ultimately, she realizes that he can’t give up New York for her.
“We weren’t giving up. We were just letting go for a while.” – Charli
This part should be titled “Gush Part Two” because this is when I tell you that I adore this book! I felt heart broken when I got to the end. I was so anxious to find out what happened, while tearing up…needless to say; I had to reread the whole last part. I think that these characters are so real, they could jump right off the page, and the love story is genuine and addicting. GJ has so much talent, I’m in awe!
Now we play the hurry up and wait game. I haven’t seen a release date for Book 3 yet, but it’ll be worth the wait! You can check out GJ Walker-Smith’s Facebook, there are some teasers on there! (But let’s be honest, teasers are like a double edged sword! So good, but they leave you wanting. *sobs*)
G.J. Walker-Smith has done it again, she's delivered a mind-blowing second installment to Saving Wishes. I'm so in love with this story and the characters, I just can't get enough!
This story picks up a year later from where Saving Wishes left us. Charli is finally out doing what she's wanted to do for her whole life, travel the world. Travelling with Mitchell was the best spur of the moment decision she's ever made, and she's absolutely loving the experience. But, there's something missing, her heart still aches for Adam. Finally making the decision with the help of Mitchell she packs her bags and heads to New York to get the magical reunion she's been dreaming of for the past year.
When she arrives in New York, things are never the same again.
Charli, just amazes me in this book, the strength she shows is astounding. If I was in her shoes I'm not sure I could've handled what was thrown at her. But she stood tall and showed that NOTHING will keep her from what she wants, and that's Adam. I also love her mouth or should I say what comes out of it, lol. She always has a come back to anything and the things she says had me in fits of laughter.
Adam. Adam. Adam. He's still the sweet dreamy man he was in Saving Wishes but he leads us all on a rollercoaster ride, I was a little upset with his actions in this, he just became blind to everything that was happening around him and Charli suffered in the process. If I could I would've given him a good slap, he definitely needs a wake up call (then I'd kiss it better, lol). He did have his romantic moments and boy, would they get your heart-pounding. *fans face* But who can stay made at him so, I guess he's forgiven, lol. ;-)
We meet old and new characters and each one brings their own unique spice to the story. I love how G.J. Walker-Smith just keeps us guessing, I think I know whats coming and than she hits outta the park and I'm left flabbergasted. My emotions went into hyper drive, by the last word I was at a loss for words and tear streaks down my face. I literally couldn't put this book down, I spent all my Sunday morning in bed with my iphone and ipad, lol.
I am dying to know what's going to happen next, I'll be hanging to the edge of my seat until the third book is released. This series is purely addictive and needs to be read and savoured! ;-)
I'm going to leave you with a little something from Adam, he engraved this on Charli's ring..
I will love you always, wherever you are.
**SIGH**
To find out what he means you need to read Second Hearts.
The book wasn't as magical as the first. We go through Charlie's life in NYC with Adam. She obviously doesn't fit in there, and I'm just waiting for it to all fall apart, but than for there to be some great solution for a even more great HEA. As the pages grow fewer, I slowly loose the hope that all will turn out okay for the couple.
I started reading this book the minute I could, the minute it was on iBooks, which was sometime in the summer. But than I stopped reading for some reason, maybe the lack of magic frustrated dulled me, but I'm glad I finished it now. Seeing that the third book has been released in November, I won't have to wait to continue the story. Thank you God
Okay so I actually cried happy tears despite the stupid crushing ending on this book. For some reason I thought that the third book was Gabi's story. So when Charli left Adam to travel or whatever... I just couldn't believe that their story was over like that. Thankfully I went and read the third books blurb over again, learning that their story continues (and hopefully ends!)
Charli is definitely an odd character. I am not sure if it was the writing or just who she is, but I got the impression of her being indifferent to a lot of things. Like her leaving Adam because she couldn't live in NYC. Okay maybe it was the writing now that I think about it. There was mention of tears on Charli's part, but nothing else really. She can most certainly make me laugh with all her conversations and that Parker scene at the Christmas Party? Gosh I actually thought she was going to take him up on his offer!
Charli sure got a glimpse into the real word while living in NYC. She sometimes irritates me for her lack of direction. If only she had a passion other than traveling that she could pursue, than maybe she could have a plan. I suppose she is young, and traveling can be a way to solve that, but still! I kept thinking she could have gotten a GED, applied to NYU or whatever schools they have there, and made a life for her self. I can't wait to figure out how this all will turn out. We have two people here not wanting to change their plans. I look forward to Adam returning to Piper's Cove.
I appreciated all the good moments Charli and Adam had. I hated all the bad ones. Maybe this is a good thing. Charli saw Adam's world, and Adam saw Charli's. So now with the third book, there has to be some form of a true HEA...right? Yeah I'll just stick to that.
The first and only book that I loved even if it left me completely heartbroken. And that says a lot about the story and the greatness of it.
Second Hearts taught me the lesson that love sometimes isn't enough. I always always find that cliche ridiculous because I have always been a hopeless romantic and so, yes, I've always thought that love will always be enough. This book proved to me how wrong that was. And in a way, I found that wrongness to be so right. (Cliche, I know)
I love Adam, I truly do, but what he did was such a low blow. It makes me think that I'm more heartbroken by what he did in comparison to Charli. I felt like I was deceived just as much, if not more, and that just makes me angrier at myself more than Adam. Haha. Charli though... this woman just redeemed herself in my book. I was so frustrated with her in the first book but now, good grief, I just wanna wrap her up in a cuddly blanket and protect her from all the heartache. I don 't know what I'm saying anymore so I'll just leave it at this.
Read this book with the caution and awareness that you will have your heart crushed in the end but also read this book with the wist of hope that they will fix their shit and that there will be a 3rd book. (haha)
Thank you so much for this wonderful story, G.J. Walker-Smith. I cannot wait for my next adventure. Btw, I just wanted to tell you how much I adore all the little stories from Charli. I am so in love with your mind! hahaha.
Oh man I have not cried so much over a book in a long while. Long, long while. But now I'm just left on this hanging ending... I don't know how to fully give this a review. I'm stuck with this sense of wonder and lost. This has been one of the all time best book series I could've ever stumbled across. And it all started because of the first being a freebie. I'm a sucker for anything free. The cover had me intrigued. Now I'm going insane knowing I just read the second book in an absolutely must read series. I loath books with cliff hangers, though both have ended that way. I was so very lucky to find the second book already out. Now, I'm heartbroken knowing I have to wait three months for the third. I don't know what is more sad, the ending, or knowing I have to wait?
Ok, since the first book had the first few chapters of this second book in it, I was curious enough to buy it and read it. It was ok. I guess that Adam's whole attraction to and love of Charlie is simply sexual. He lies to her about his goal of staying in New York and is rather a jerk. Charli shows some spunk in dealing with the rich bitches and Adam's mom, but she is still rather wimpy in ways. She whines about having nothing to do while he is at school all the time. Why couldn't she take some initiative and get her GED and/or take some classes? With all that money she could buy a better camera and take her portfolio to magazines and become a National Geographic photographer or something. I really don't know what she wants out of life, nor it seems does she. I liked all the fairy stories, but I did not think it was a great romance or anything.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
With more of the series unread as opposed to read, SECOND HEARTS also got a second go. And this is where my feelings have changed. Though again I managed to remember basically the entire story as it went along, the ups and downs, the drama and the triumphs, my overall opinion shifted. Initially rated a three I've now bumped this to a four.
My issues with SAVING WISHES, Charli specifically, are not present in this second installment. I really liked her character this time around. I vividly felt her struggle to fit in, to charge forth and hold onto the only thing she wanted and never let Adam see her falter, even when it was tearing her up -- even as she was being torn down. I felt her few mischievous, or rather downright vindictive, flare ups were totally well deserved (specifically the latex scene). And once again, like it had been in Piper's Cove, she was hardly the most horrible of the group. Adam's poison ivy league were a mix of rotten individuals and I really loved how Charli navigated both around and through them. Adam, on the other hand, was decidedly my least favourite character -- but thankfully we had his brother Ryan to balance the scales. I'm pretty excited to see he gets his own story down the line.
Again we have an ending where our two lovebirds are forced to separate. I really like how Walker-Smith does this with only the slightest dash of angst. It's incredibly refreshing to have a couple who we know will eventually get their HEA actually know it themselves. And while it's not that they aren't fighting to maintain it, they are also not fighting to force it. At least not beyond what is realistic. It rather makes me love these characters more than they might deserve.
That being said, I'm heading into the third book which is now unknown waters for me. Making the title, STORM SHELLS, rather apt as I imagine there might be a few rough seas to navigate before their little ship makes port. Can't wait to ride it out.
I want to hold onto hope and magic for as long as I can, and this book reminded me why. Second Hearts shows us that living a life without any imagination and believes is a really dull existence.
I loved Second Hearts because it was funny, meaningful, mystical, and perfect for me. I've been constantly disappointed by sequels, but G.J. Walker-Smith can do no wrong when she clearly writes from the heart.
"The trouble with magic is that it’s usually an ephemeral moment"
It's been a year since Charli left home to travel the world, and Charli loves it, but she misses Adam. She is tormented by the what ifs, so she decides to go to New York and that's all you need to know. I have to compliment the author because the characters clearly matured, but they held onto their uniqueness. I love Adam because he made me fall in love with him, and I love Charli because she reminds me so much of myself. If you decide to pick this book I want to tell you that it is mostly a nice and pleasent read, even though the end had me on tears. I promise that there isn't much drama.
In book two of the Wishes Series, Charli is having regrets about letting Adam go. She is determined to go to him in New York but the longer she waits the more she talks herself out of it. Her friend and traveling partner, Mitchell, finally gets her on a plane to New York. Charli isn’t sure what she will find. In fact her worst ideas come true, but she promises Gabriella to give New York a chance. She gets a job in a restaurant named Nellie’s and meets an interesting man. He calls himself Elvis and she considers him one of her first friends. She is shocked to learn that he is Adam’s brother. Just as shocked as Ryan is to learn who she is. He alerts Adam to her presence forcing her to flee. Adam finds her and is determined to stay away from her, but is unable to. In fact their relationship takes the next step. Charli loves Adam and is willing to endure the treatment she receives from his family and friends. She agrees to give him two years to finish school before they leave. Unfortunately Charli finds that love may not always bring happiness. This book had me so engrossed I couldn’t put it down. In fact I read it in one day. I love Charli’s character and her free spirit. I can see how Adam fell for her and hard. Everyone needs magic in their lives. It saddens me that two people love each other so much but are unable to make it work. The ending made me so emotional I teared up. I give kudos to this wonderful author who is capable of invoking such strong emotion from me personally. I give this fabulous book a 5 out of 5.
I really enjoyed reading Second Hearts, which is the sequel to Saving Wishes. They are very similar, but it is not a stand alone novel. Full understanding of the first book is necessary to fully comprehend the second. I LOVE the choice of vocabulary that Smith uses, it is vivid and complex and I like to read this book with a highlighter and dictionary. The way it’s written largely attributes to my enjoyment of this book, as the plot alone would not be interesting without the witty characters and flowery writing. Both main protagonists have a fascinating way of thinking and talking, which makes having the main girl be the narrator very interesting. She has a very different way of viewing the world then others, as she calls it; “La La Land.” The romance between the two characters is fun to follow along, though can be frustrating at times! There are some racy scenes in the book, but the banter between the two keeps you reading. The book is a page turner, and some plot twists are completely astonishing and unpredictable (much like in Saving Wishes) and I became very absorbed in the characters and the book. However, my one thing is that the plot in this book is very similar as to the one in the previous book, and a little predictable. It’s basically the same story but in a different setting, however a great read nonetheless.
This book was so drastically different from the first. My heart went from jumping for joy, to essentially wanting to murder the entire Décarie family. I never knew that people could be so mean and try to intentionally and unintentionally destroy people all at once. Adam hurt me the most, but I suppose he was just enjoying his five minutes with his true love, now known as Charlie Décarie. If I were Charli and hopelessly in love with Adam, I have no doubts that I would have done the same thing and attempted to make it work for the one and only love of my life. It is true that love makes people do crazy things, but it is all worthwhile because five extraordinary minutes with love of your life is so much more satisfactory than never being loved at all. The Poison Ivy League was terrible, as was the queen. Ryan was a mix of emotions, but I believe that he is a good man most of the time. I have deep faith that Charli and Adam will find each other, that is, once Adam stops being a jerk and comes to his senses.
The story between Adam and Charli continues in this second book of the series. It starts off with Charli and Mitchell in Africa. It's been nearly a year since Charli has last seen Adam, though her feelings for him haven't changed a bit. After a rather drunk, yet funny, conversation with Mitchell, she decides to set off for New York in hopes of finding Adam and picking up where they left off. As I read about Charli's adventure in New York, it was easy to tell that she was going to have to try a lot harder than she already was in order for her to fit into Adam's crowd. After some major bumps along with some twists & turns, they end up happily married. In the end, Adam's decision to leave New York with Charli had been just for her pleasure all along because he believed that he could change Charli's mind about leaving the city. What astonished me the most was how strong Charli was being after everything had happened. "We weren't giving up. We were just letting go for a while."
This book needs to come with a warning have a box of tissues handy. My second heart has turned black, I was left completely heartbroken after finishing this book. It had some lovely beautiful moments, but then there were some heartbreaking tears streaming down your face moments too, not to mention the moments where i wanted to go all ninja on someones butt. I can barely see through the tears to write this review. I will be impatiently waiting for the next instalment to be released.
P.S I was right on my guess of who Elvis was... Just call me Mr Marple.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the first book as well. Frustrating at times, but always in the end it worked out. Even though the endings of these books weren't HEA I know there will be one for Charli and Adam. I really liked Ryan's character. I hope there is more of him in the third book and I hope there is more of Alex too. I was disappointed he was hardly int he second book. I hope the third one is out soon. Don't make us wait too long.
I loved this book its great, I love the characters. I do get the true love part but I hope in book 3 she gives someone else a chance on love..she can't pass her life waiting for him to change his ways. Mitchell did kiss her before she bored the plane.
Love love love!! this book. i really hope walker-smith writes 3rd book set around 4-5 yrs later when adam goes looking for charli in pipers cove! i'll save up a million wishes for that book :)
Il suo gesto (ingiustificabile) è stato sicuramente dettato dall'amore per Charli, ma nonostante tutto ne esce alla fine del libro come un grande egoista. this took me way too long to finish bc it was so boringggg. i definitely liked the first better but i think the ending saved this (and ryan).
charli is so annoying sometimes. she spent 90% of the book whining and complaining and not doing anything but sit in her new york apartment that she, get this, - complained about.
also if a rich man wanted to marry me i would be spending his money if he offered?? like girl!!
