We meet our FMC, Sydney. She’s living in what remains of of an Earth stuck in the middle of a war between two alien races, one good and the other very bad. One night, she stumbles upon one of the good aliens who is injured. She brings him home and helps in his recovery.
In the meantime, his brother Jakke, our MMC gets word his brother is missing on Earth and sends a group to find him. After a few days they track him to the FMC’s place of living. She is injured in the break in and is brought back to the ship.
Unbeknownst to her or Jakke they are mates and when he sees her, he is hit with mating fever. He fights all urges the best he can since his race does not mix with other races, but when she goes into heat, he can’t fight any longer. While on the ship heading back to his home planet, they attempt to get to know each other but there are things he has not mentioned and she finds out everything once they arrive, so the betrayal is hurtful.
Ultimately she pulls a runner and he loses his mind. Once he finds her, he begins to grovel and they also work to get to know each other more.
⚠️SPOILERS/DETAILED TRIGGERS⚠️
*This book has cheating and other woman drama but the cheating is easily forgivable as Jakke was still trying to understand human culture and being with other females was a normal part of his culture. He later admitted he did not have sex it was just kissing and touching
*Surprise pregnancy
🌶️: 2/5: The spice level was mild to moderate. Some of the scenes were fade to black and the rest were descriptive
Final thoughts: I absolutely loved this book. I mean loved it so freaking much. I am such a sucker for an alien romance where the MMC is so taken aback with the human female and you as the reader truly feel what they are feeling as learn about their mate. Like it’s awe and wonder and I am so here for it. Even when Jakke did what he did, it was so damn innocent you couldn’t help but to forgive him and know that he was going to do better by the FMC moving forward. I wish it was longer because I didn’t want to say goodbye to them. Please add this to your list if this is a genre you like.
