Chase Fisk thought he lost the love of his life, Vivian Brooks, four years ago, shattering his heart into bits. When Vivian, now an FBI agent, shows up in Nashville assigned with his team to find the person intent on blowing up targets during a big music festival, Chase has the shock of his life. Can he put aside his anger, hurt and feelings of betrayal and work with her to stop this madman before he strikes?
Oh, the flood of so many conflicting emotions! My heart hurt for Chase and for Vivian (once I got her side of things). Chase was furious and upset with Vivian, and I couldn’t help but side with him, at first. The pain of loss, the nightmares he experienced, all seemed so unnecessary, because Vivian wasn’t dead! I could totally understand why Chase felt so betrayed. But as Vivian’s side came out I felt for her as well, and I just wanted them to patch things up, and get back together. This was the perfect blend of romance, and angst, my feelings being tugged all over the place for these two!
Chase and Vivian find themselves faced with danger as they try and hunt down this madman, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering when the killer would strike next! I didn’t want to put my kindle down and just read straight through!
While you could read Live Wire as a standalone, I would recommend reading the prequel, Lit Fuse , first. I don’t think you’d feel the intensity of Chase and Vivian’s connection, or understand how deeply it cut when they separated four years earlier. I loved their emotional story!
This is the first time I’ve picked up a story by Caisey Quinn. She grabbed me by the heart and squeezed with Lit Fuse and Live Wire, and I enjoyed every minute! I’ll be watching out for anything she writes in the future! I hope we get Luke and Annalise’s story next!

I've given this a C- at AAR, so that's 2.5 stars
Live Wire is the first book in Caisey Quinn’s a Nashville’s Finest series, and with a blurb that promised a homicidal maniac threatening to set off military-grade IEDs during Nashville’s largest music festival, and a rekindling romance between an explosives expert and his former lover, now an FBI agent, you’d think I was in for an action-packed, emotional rollercoaster of a ride, right?
Wrong.
Because Live Wire is, in fact, a damp squib. There is very little action, the romance is perfunctory, the characters are barely two-dimensional and the plot is predictable and not particularly suspenseful.
Four years before the book opens, Chase Fisk watched the love of his life get blown to smithereens when a military training exercise went badly wrong. He still has nightmares about that day, and has never really got over Vivien Brooks, in spite of having spent the first couple of years after her death trying hard to forget her in the beds of numerous other women. An injury sustained during the blast got him a medical discharge from the army, and Chase now heads up an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) unit with the Nashville PD.
When a tip off leads Chase and his team to a condemned building on the east side of town they aren’t expecting to find a stash of military grade explosives and maps of the city marked up in a kind of code. But with the prestigious Country Music Festival just weeks away – which will see a massive influx of tourists into the city – there’s no time to waste in decoding the maps, working out what is planned – and who is planning it.
Given the nature of the discovery, the FBI is called in, and immediately dispatches three highly trained agents to aid the Nashville police. Among them is Vivien Montgomery, who, four years previously, had been undergoing military training when she’d been informed that she was the target of a Russian mafia boss who had a grudge against her family. For her own safety, the Bureau faked her death and she was then sent on an undercover assignment to take down said mafia boss, which lasted around two years. She is naturally wary at the prospect of seeing Chase again, certain he’s going to be furious at her deception rather than pleased to see her – and this is borne out at their first meeting, which is anything but a tender reunion. Fortunately, however, after some initial hostility and sniping, they realise they can’t go on this way and decide they need to address the elephant in the room. On the one hand, I was pleased the author chose not to drag out this aspect of their relationship; Chase and Vivien act like mature adults and have talked things out between them before the half-way point of the book. But on the other, that’s it for the romance – which wasn’t actually very romantic to start with. They’ve kissed and made up, they’ve decided they want to be together, and after that, things are all lovey-dovey, with the exception of a little workplace conflict, and there’s nowhere else to go. I was more interested in the brewing romance between one of Chase’s buddies (Luke) and Annalise, the sister of another of his friends, who works for the PD as an intelligence gatherer and analyst.
The author attempts to give some depth to Chase’s character by mentioning, once or twice, that he survived an abusive childhood, but that’s it; there’s no attempt to relate his past to his present. It’s like Ms. Quinn stuck a pin in a list of “Things to Make Your Characters More Interesting” and that’s the one she decided to bolt on. Vivien is from a military family, and we’re told how kick-ass she is, but never really see it for ourselves. And one thing I found really odd is that other than the fact that Vivien has red hair, neither she nor Chase is described in the sort of detail one normally finds in a romance novel, and consequently, I found it difficult to get a mental picture of either of them.
The plot plods on, complete with the obligatory last-minute twist which picks up a previously planted clue that the bomber’s target is Vivien rather than the city. The pace does pick up a bit in these last chapters, but it’s too little too late, and the ending is somewhat vague. Some of the bad guys are apprehended, but some aren’t so I’m guessing the story is to be continued in the next in the series. Reading this was reminiscent, at times, of watching a police procedural, complete with fast edits, sudden leaps of logic and overblown dialogue – and that’s fine, if you’re into that sort of thing. I like watching them as much as the next person, but I don’t like reading them; in a book, I expect something more carefully constructed and possessed of greater depth.
As is obvious, I’m not going to recommend this, and even though I sort of want to know what happens with Annalise and Luke, I will probably not be continuing with the series. When compared to some of the other romantic suspense novels I’ve read recently, by authors such as Mary Burton, Rachel Grant and Laura Griffin, Live Wire is static and unimaginative and the writing is pedestrian at best. I’m sorry, Nashville’s Finest, but you haven’t lived up to your epithet.

Unbelievable. I absolutely loved Live Wire. It was exciting, fast paced and a true romance. Chase and Vivian had me from the beginning and didn’t let me go.
Nashville … my dream vacation spot. And, CMA Music Festival. Yes! But, blow it up? Hell, no! Chase Fisk was my hero just for that. But, my personal feelings about Nashville aside, Chase was a hero living in a shell of a life. Yes, he went on after losing his one true love and he lived with that reality every day. How was he supposed to act when she walked back into his life again?
Vivian dreaded the day when she would come face to face with Chase again. She could only hope that he understood why. She understood his anger but he also had to understand that she had no choice in the matter. She’s back and the ball is in his court now.
I really did love this story. It was so well written and realistic. Caisey Quinn did a wonderful job letting us feel Chase’s pain. She moved the story along and I was thrilled that she brought Chase to his senses in a timely manner … she didn’t drag out his agony. Vivian was written as a strong-willed, strong-minded woman. The depth of her feelings about Chase were written in a way that you knew that she never stopped loving him. It was clear that her leaving killed Chase and destroyed Vivian. Clear, precise writing from the heart is what set this story apart along with characters that were fascinating and complex.
Live Wire was filled with intrigue and had a plot line that was thought-provoking and action packed. Caisey Quinn wrote a suspense-filled story with a touch of romance that kept me on the edge of my seat, surprised me and has me looking forward to the next story in the series.

4 Stars - 3 Flames
Finally! After reading the Prequel to this series, I was DYING to find out what the heck was going to happen to these two.
Chase has been haunted for four years. He's been having reoccurring nightmares about the day he watched Viv blow up when he was her CO. Although he's tried to get over her, drunken nights and one night stands just couldn't cut through the love he had for Viv. And suddenly.....BAM! What's that? Is his mind playing tricks on him? Nope. Viv is back from the dead and boy oh boy is there hell to be paid.
Viv lost everything. She was forced to go undercover with the FBI not only to save her parents, but to save Chase. Even after she was given the "all clear" to return to her life, staying away from Chase seemed to be the logical thing to do. Until she's forced to take a job that puts her directly in contact with him, having to face everything that she's been trying not to feel. And as angry as Chase is with her, she's just as sad and confused, because those feelings are still stronger than ever.
Despite the fact that this story involves these two rekindling old flames, there's a pretty good story about a terror attack that needs to be dissolved. Chase and Viv are forced (at first) to work with each other in order to uncover a plot to blow up downtown Nashville. Once these two figure their demons out, they work seamlessly together. We even get to see more of those hunky roommates, Luke and Aiden. Everyone pulls together and works with each other to close the case, and the process of it all had me intrigued. Now I'm just chomping at the bit to get to Luke and Annalise's story

This fell a little short for me. The romance went from 0% to 100% too fast. And the suspense wasn't my favorite. I was hoping for a more cracky read.

Chase and Vivien were together years ago, and then she was killed and he has never gotten over her death...yet, she isn't dead.
I loved the second chance romance, complicated by the jobs they each had to do and the past that was coming back to haunt them. I thought Ms. Quinn handled the balance of this well. Yes, there was a past between them, but there was also a bomber to catch, so there was the need to do their best to put the past aside, to focus, and to do their jobs.
I also loved that they were allowed to be human, they were not robots who didn't reach to the situation, who were able to act like nothing was going on. And, I loved how they handled their past when it was finally dealt with.
The revelation of who was responsible for the attacks also felt real, and while not obvious, not something that I immediately picked up on, which is always nice.
Saying more is difficult, as there are a lot of spoilers. So I am going to keep this as a short review with a recommendation to read this book. I am definitely interested in the next book by this author and will be keeping my eye out for it!

This is explosive ordinance disposal specialist Chase Fisk, and FBI agent Vivien (Brooks) Montgomery’s story line. There is a prequel novella available –Lit Fuse-that focuses on Vivien and Chase’s relationship four years earlier.
Told from several third person perspectives including Chase and Vivien LIVE WIRE is a second chance story line for two people whose lives were destroyed four years earlier. Chase and Vivien were once in love but a training mission went horribly wrong leaving Chase grieving for the woman that called to his heart. Four years of PTSD, nightmares and longing found our hero face to face with the woman he thought had died-the death for which he blamed himself-and had been the focus of too many nightmares and horrific memories. A series of threats focusing on the Nashville Music Festival has the FBI and Nashville PD working together including Vivien Montgomery-an FBI specialist-who is desperate to make Chase understand what happened and why. ‘Live Wire’ is much shorter than I’d expected and as a continuation of ‘Lit Fuse’ that detailed both Chase’s and Viv’s history four years earlier, wastes no time at all in reuniting estranged protagonists and pulling them together—in a rather mature way might I add—before the climax really happens. And that surprised me pleasantly, considering the conventions of the Romantic Suspense genre, where a huge blowup (sometimes literally) has to happen to pull the couple apart before they have their HEA and puts into question (at times) the maturity of all involved. In this case, I appreciated the no-nonsense way Caisey Quinn quickly cleared up the misunderstanding between Viv and Chase instead of leaving them flailing in the dark, and essentially rendering them as very sympathetic characters that I felt I could get behind.
The writing isn’t perfect—there were parts I did find myself unable to suspend my disbelief sufficiently, especially when the men seemed as emotional as the women in their sappy heart-to-heart talks—but as a shorter read than most, ‘Live Wire’ did more than a decent job of setting up the series as well as the next pairing to come. And that’s something I can honestly say I’m already looking forward to.

Mistakes, simple, impulsive, random mistakes- one infinitesimal misstep could destroy every-fucking-thing in the blink of an eye. But what if everything wasn’t what it seemed and you get a second chance?
Chase Fisk is one of Nashville’s Finest. He is a fine specimen although he is alive and if things had gone differently then he might not have been. He works and that is all he has done for the past four years. After the death of the love of his life Vivien Brooks.
Vivien Brooks now Montgomery had some family ties to some very dangerous people. In order to protect her love, she had to let him go and make him believe that she was dead. Four years later the time has come….
To face her past. The one thing that really did bug me and that is why I docked a star is. Would she have gone back on her own at some point? Or would they have never reunited?
Now this is where I got confused…
We first get introduced to Chase and then to Vivien where I thought sweet baby Jesus what if it is a new love interest with the same name as the deceased love of his life? Admittedly I didn’t read the blurb of the book, I wanted to go in blind but it turned out that soon enough I was thinking rubbish and it was taking a path where I though okay I got this and I can live with it.
Chase and Vivien are great together. Be it out of the bedroom or in it. Chase doesn’t react that well to Vivien turning up to a case that Chase is working on. The reunion doesn’t go as planned. Understandable. Chase is a bit of an idiot but he soon gets over it.
They butt heads at work as they are both stubborn. Chase only wants to protect Vi. Vi just wants to be able to do her job.
Such a delightful read. Such a gem, a quick read with extremely loveable and relatable characters. Fun with a side of sexy and let’s face it hot scenes as well. I truly enjoy Ms. Quinn’s writing style and the setup of Nashville’s Finest. A must read so go out and grab a copy.
After the slow-paced read this was a fast-paced action packed read which flows well with amazing characters and story. There was not one point in the book where I was bored or interested in the characters. Live Wire sucks you in and doesn’t let you go until the last page.

After the stunning conclusion in the prequel, Lit Fuse, there was just no keeping me away from Live Wire. I had to see what came of this pair when he thought she died in an explosion and she stayed away long after the need to stay in hiding was over. Whew! This was indeed a live one like the title calls it. This new exciting series focusing on members of the Nashville PD and their intense cases and lives makes me pretty happy about the new romantic suspense on the block.
The prequel was a good introduction to the main characters of this book and the surrounding cast of others who will get their story next. This book is written in a way that the reader isn't required to read the prequel so either way is fine though I think the impact of what goes down off page before this one starts and the impact of their first meet will mean more if the prequel came first.
So this story begins a few years after Chase Fisk is forced to leave the Army after a bomb blast kills the woman he loves. He was her instructor and her lover and he is full of grief and if onlys that keep him up at night and make him changed from the guy he was before. He, along with his best friends all work for Nashville PD and Chase is with the bomb squad. A tip about something suspicious at an old storage unit rental place leads his team to find plans for mass bombings in the city. The FBI is called in to assist as they work to hunt down the planners and stop the bombings. There is no way he could have seen it coming when Vivien walks back into his life as cool as can be pretending she barely knows him and working with the FBI.
Vivien Montgomery left the only man she would ever love behind thinking her dead and now her new assignment is right back there in the last place she wants to go. Chase Fisk looms larger than life and confronting him with her lies- even if she had no choice at first- is something she isn't sure she has the courage to face. But she needs to be there to help save many lives and yes, she needs to give Chase the truth and put him behind her if she can.
Alright, I wanted this one and I dreaded this one at the same time. The big, big thing of this book is the faked death element. Oh, there is a fantastic and intense suspense going on with mass-bombers and time running down to find them before the big Nashville Country Music events bring tons of people into danger. And there are some good light and fun scenes with the circle of friends and good detecting from the group as a whole. Nice balance between the romance and the suspense.
But yes, the big enchilada was Chase and Vivienne four years after her FBI ordered faked death moment that broke them apart. A grieving lover who you lied to and stayed away even when you could go back and give him the truth was making me uneasy. I was not team Vivien when this all started because I knew her 'death' broke Chase. Even if she had her reasons, four years of grief and suffering did not warm me to her own 'missing him and loving him' tune.
But I needed to know what would happen after she shows like a ghost from the past and what her explanation would be.
I will give this to the author. She created a viable explanation. That horse didn't run for me, but I think it was enough so I didn't toss the book aside prematurely.
The thing is that this was a romance that was never going to endear me to it completely- a lot of no-fault bad stuff and a couple human frailty moments and we have four years of misery for two people.
However, once it was over the rough ground, we were back to two fiery and strong people who had great chemistry and manage with a few shaky moments aside to really show up as mature communicating adults who partner well in life, in work, and in love.
The set up for the next book will shift the spotlight to another pair who are strong secondary characters and already have their characters drawn and some hints as to the action and romance. I'm eager to get their story too.
All in all, this one is for the win column. It won me over in spite of my early reservations and it left me excited for what is to come from the series. I'm tagging this one for the romantic suspense lovers out there.

Live Wire picks up four years after the devastating ending in Lit Fuse. Live Wire starts with powerful tension and doesn't let up at any point, utterly gripping.
Viv is now working for the FBI after spending a number of years undercover to bring down the threat to herself and the people she cares for. All the time she has had to sacrifice her happiness for safety she held onto hope that she could return to Chase. The reasons for the lack of reunion are initially withheld and create a different kind of tension within the narrative. The sense of foreboding is immense, you subconsciously know that there must have been a further incident to prevent Viv from finding Chase and telling him the truth about her disappearance. When the revelation comes you can't help but be more than a little heartbroken for Viv, yet, are unable to blame Chase as he held the belief Viv was dead.
Chase has struggled with his grief and moving forward with his life in the belief that he has lost Viv forever. The shock of being confronted with the very alive Viv, when she is called in as part of a FBI task force to help with a terror threat, causes Chase to lose control of his emotions. A barrage of anger and recrimination spews forth, as opposed to the romantic scenario I had built-in my head. I was more than a little confused by Chase's reaction alongside the emotional hurt he unleashed on Viv; unable to separate the feelings of abandonment with the reality of the situation. Coupled with the resurgence of every emotion he has ever felt for Viv it takes Chase awhile to be in a position to listen to Viv's explanation of events and the revelations of the lack of contact even when her undercover work was completed.
Although a love like theirs cannot be denied, Chase and Viv have to confront their shared past and the events that have altered them in their time apart. They struggle to put the past behind them in order to build the future they both dream of.
However, the new threat seems to be personal, targeting Viv. The clues are placed cleverly within the narrative to be able to put the puzzle pieces together. The security issues shown through the plot make you realise just how much hard work goes into protecting the public especially at festivals and large events; it is terrifying to think of the dangers you could so easily encounter. I was also impressed with the way Caisey portrayed the responsibility law enforcement personnel carry on a daily basis.
As well as Chase and Vivian's relationship progressing through Live Wire, the foundation has been laid for Luke and Annalise to take center stage in Deadly Retribution!!!!!

I am a huge Caisey Quinn fan. I think I've read all her books, usually as soon as they come out. She is one of the authors I'm down for with new releases. Gotta get my grabby little hands on her books. I did the same with this one. I had to read it asap and I'm glad I did. I am such a sucker for a second chance romance .
I felt like I was reading a CSI book, or SVU or something. It is crime drama and romance tied together. Talk about surprise left hook. You know Chase didn't expect to have someone from his past walk into his investigation, especially not Viv. There's so much tension and anger mixed in with his feelings for her. It's so thick you feel like it's an actual character in the book itself. Until the tension breaks. Until the truth comes out . Then there's nothing holding back these two star crossed lovers.
You have this romance that these two are trying to build back on, trying to build a future with, but yet there is someone trying to half their future all together. The way Caisey has written this, you're not sure who's really after who... is it her? Or is it him? Why? What is really going on ? What are we missing? What key to this puzzle are we missing? All the while the heat is building with the case, with their romance, and between their friends. I mean come on Luke- man up.. get on it! GAH! You're pulling for all these relationship to work out but at the same time, you feel the clock ticking over their heads.
I loved how Caisey wrote this story. I was pulled in from the beginning and stayed so intrigued through the whole story. I really did feel like it was mixing a romance story with an episode of CSI. And in normal CQ fashion, it's so hot when these two collide and oh so romantic.
"There hasn't been a single day that I haven't thought of you, haven't missed you, haven't hurt from the loss of you." He inhaled again and continued. "I have been the furthest thing from fine. I've been trying to pretend to live when I've been dead inside since the day I though I lost you."
GAH see what I mean ! So Romantic!

"It beats for you, Viv. Only for you".

Loved reading the conclusion to Chase and Vivien's story. Though it seems like I've read something very similar before...I'm still trying to place it. But all together, it was a good story and I looked forward to more from this series. Review to come....

I’m not even gonna lie, I started off wanting to throw this book (or more specifically my iPad with the book on it) across the room. My jaw hit the floor when I read Vivien was dead. I was furious. I quickly closed it out, went to Goodreads and read the blurb and realized that I wasn’t going to have to give the book up after all. Vivien was alive and well, even if Chase didn’t know it yet. But boy, did that first chapter get my heart beating. (That’ll teach me not to read the blurb before starting the book.) Silly me. I should’ve known Caisey wouldn’t do her characters like that.
Once I got past my initial freakout, I loved this book. As addicting as Chase and Vivien were in Lit Fuse, they were ten times that in this book. I knew a romance between these two was never going to be easy and I definitely understood Chase’s feelings of betrayal, but there was more to all of it than met the eye. (And it totally crushed me at one point, too.) Vivien was dealing with her own demons and it was going to take some work for these two to find their way back to each other — where they belonged. It wasn’t easy, but it was passionate and had plenty of feels. And oooooh boy, the sexy times. These two had some seriously intense chemistry and the time apart did nothing to lessen it. I was cheering hard for the two of them because they were just so very perfect for each other.
The romance never took a backseat to the Music City Bomber situation, but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you how much I got sucked into that storyline as well. I love when I read a book about a city I’m familiar with — and honestly love — because it makes me feel that much more like I’m right there. It made it easy for me to get the lay of the land as they were discussed various locations around Nashville, so I felt like I was living the story with the characters. Though thankfully MY time in Nashville hasn’t been THAT intense. I was on the edge of my seat as Chase and Vivien struggled against the clock to find the suspect and keep anyone else from getting hurt or killed, all as they tried to battle their feelings for each other. Live Wire gave great romance, but it also gave wonderful suspense. SO GOOD.
I loved everything about this book! I just can’t wait to see what Caisey gives us in the next Nashville’s Finest installment, Deadly Retribution. If it’s anything like the first two books, I’m going to love it.

I’m not even gonna lie, I started off wanting to throw this book (or more specifically my iPad with the book on it) across the room. My jaw hit the floor when I read Vivien was dead. I was furious. I quickly closed it out, went to Goodreads and read the blurb and realized that I wasn’t going to have to give the book up after all. Vivien was alive and well, even if Chase didn’t know it yet. But boy, did that first chapter get my heart beating. (That’ll teach me not to read the blurb before starting the book.) Silly me. I should’ve known Caisey wouldn’t do her characters like that.
Once I got past my initial freakout, I loved this book. As addicting as Chase and Vivien were in Lit Fuse, they were ten times that in this book. I knew a romance between these two was never going to be easy and I definitely understood Chase’s feelings of betrayal, but there was more to all of it than met the eye. (And it totally crushed me at one point, too.) Vivien was dealing with her own demons and it was going to take some work for these two to find their way back to each other — where they belonged. It wasn’t easy, but it was passionate and had plenty of feels. And oooooh boy, the sexy times. These two had some seriously intense chemistry and the time apart did nothing to lessen it. I was cheering hard for the two of them because they were just so very perfect for each other.
The romance never took a backseat to the Music City Bomber situation, but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you how much I got sucked into that storyline as well. I love when I read a book about a city I’m familiar with — and honestly love — because it makes me feel that much more like I’m right there. It made it easy for me to get the lay of the land as they were discussed various locations around Nashville, so I felt like I was living the story with the characters. Though thankfully MY time in Nashville hasn’t been THAT intense. I was on the edge of my seat as Chase and Vivien struggled against the clock to find the suspect and keep anyone else from getting hurt or killed, all as they tried to battle their feelings for each other. Live Wire gave great romance, but it also gave wonderful suspense. SO GOOD.

A second chance that may be their last…
If you haven’t read Lit Fuse then you definitely want to do that before you go any further. The emotional punch of that story, that cliffhanger, is the best introduction to Chase and Vivien’s story that continues here. That jaw dropping, what the heck just happened, cliffhanger, indeed left me hanging….

I was right along with them, feeling their pain, their anxiety, their uncertainty as truths finally were uncovered. As they try to find their way through their own issues, they have a dangerous case to solve as well. Chase is as protective as ever yet Vivien was equally so. The way they supported each other – physically, emotionally and professionally – was not hampered in any way by things left unresolved…
A complicated nail-biter, there was lots to love about this riveting romantic suspense that brought all the feels! There may be one satisfying HEA but there were lots of hints about things to come. I can’t wait for Luke and Annaliese’s story. ~Diane, 4 stars

Hmmm...
Usually I love and adore any story from this author, so I'm a bit confused as to why I'm not grinning stupidly with happiness now.
Live Wire is a good story. It's fluent, fast paced, sweet and entertaining. The characters are still good, and I enjoyed the way they handled themselves and each other.
I guess I would have just liked to know a bit more about the precinct in general, about the dynamics between the cops in general. Now the story felt like it had been written out of order and without enough research to make it altogether believable. Or it could just be that being a Finn, I don't know anything about the U.S. law enforcement or military, except for what I've read and seen from books and movies and TV-shows.
Anyway, I liked this one. Maybe not as much as I liked the music related series, but I think I'll still look forward to the next book. I want to know what exactly happened between Luke and Annalise, and why Auden would have trouble with it. I just hope that it won't be the Neon Dreams storyline inserted into the law enforcement environment.

This story starts off with loss... Chase has gone through a tragedy he can't shake and suffers from nightmares and tremors from the death of his love Vivien. But little does he know she never really died and their paths cross after years of her fake death. This is a CSI kinda book and Chase realizes she's alive and they have to work together on a case...can Chase work with Vivien after all the years...can he forgive her and is their love still there???? So much happens but every step of the way you see their undeniable connection and attraction to on another. I enjoyed their passion and how love is always there and sometimes is just buried deep inside cuz love doesn't just vanish when someone dies their love stays deep in your heart. Loved this story just wish it was in 1st person.

Chase has been living with the pain of the past. The past love he had and lost. It's been four years and he believes that Vivian died and left him broken hearted. Then the city he has sworn to protect, Nashville, is under attack by a terrorist bomber and in walks a ghost from his past...his beautiful Viv...the FBI agent...wtf?? That is basically his reaction.
How does Viv show Chase what happened and how it happened while they are both working under the threat of the city being blown to smithereens?? Can he forgive her and keep her and himself safe at the same time?
A quick read, Live Wire introduces us to Chase and his military buddies, Aiden and Luke, all now working to keep Nashville safe. This is a complete story leading us into book two which will address Luke and a threat against his life. What is up with Luke and Annalise, Aiden's little sister?? Guess we will find out when Deadly Retribution is released.

Wow! I had no idea when I read the synopsis how good this book was going to be! It started from the very first pages! Chase is an EOD specialist for the Nashville PD. He has to find a twisted perp who is threatening to blow up the city he loves, and if anyone can find him, it’s Chase. He has no idea how this case will change his whole life. What will he do when the only woman he has loved and thought was dead shows back up to work the case with him? Yeah, an explosion of another kind!
Chase owned my heart from the very beginning. He was so strong, and yet so vulnerable. The depth of sorrow he felt, I felt! My heart broke for him when he would awaken from those horrible nightmares. I could also feel the shock and anger he experienced when seeing Vivien. I thought I would hate her for what she put Chase through, but she hurt just as much as he did. She experienced things she never should have, and I admired and respected her tenacity and strength.
I really liked that Quinn didn’t waste time on the angst and drama between Chase and Vivien. She dealt with that pretty quickly and concentrated on the story of the bomber. It was a perfect balance between steam, romance, and suspense! My favorite part: the epilogue. I love when a writer sets you up for the next book in the series, and Quinn does an awesome job doing that! I can’t wait for the next book!

After reading the beginning of Chase and Vic's story in Lit Fuse, the ending has Ed me waiting anxiously for Live Wire, I wasn't disappointed. There was suspense, love with tasteful sex scenes.

Wow this book!! So, I read the blurb and thought I knew what I was getting into. I had no idea how intensely I'd be drawn in and invested in this book! This is one that has everything I love and then some! Hot military man/cop? Check! Great romance for the ages? Check! Suspense and twists? Check!
I don't think there was anything about this story I didn't love! It is my first read by Caisey Quinn but it most definitely will not be my last! Can't wait for the next book!!

I was completely enthralled and couldn't put this down! Absolutely loved the writing style! So much was packed into this book, yet, I never felt like it was forced or rushed, it just flowed. Looking for a great romantic suspense that is not another of the same ol' same ol'? This is the book! Definite Must Read!!!

Caisey Quinn delivers an explosive, action-packed second chance romance with Live Wire, the first novel in her Nashville’s Finest series. After meeting Chase and Vivien in the prequel novella Lit Fuse, I was addicted. I knew I needed more of this badass couple and Caisey Quinn definitely didn’t disappoint. Sizzling, heart pounding, and full of feels, Live Wire was everything I’d hoped it would be and so much more. From their intensely emotional reunion to the delightfully satisfying conclusion, this story kept me utterly enthralled. Chase and Vivien’s sparkling chemistry was more potent than ever, compounded by their time spent apart and further intensified by their inexplicable emotional connection. I absolutely adored the push and pull between this duo, easily caught up in their heady tension and suggestive banter. Caisey Quinn made sure the reader felt every raw and gripping emotion along Chase and Vivien’s journey and by the time their story came to a close, I was nowhere near ready to let this memorable couple go.
One of the things I loved about Chase and Vivien’s story was their equal footing throughout the novel. Both members of law enforcement, they were a powerhouse of strength and intelligence that kept me absolutely riveted. I loved the teamwork this duo exhibited and how easily they fit together. Their shared protectiveness made for one heck of a captivating adventure as they tried to balance their careers and relationship in the wake of all the pulse pounding action. Caisey Quinn had me on the edge of my seat, anxious to find out how this thrilling storyline would play out and loving every minute of Chase and Vivien’s quest to break the case. Surrounded by a colorful cast of secondary characters, I found this fictional world easy to lose myself in and even easier to love. I am so ready for more of Luke, Annalise, Aiden and the rest of the gang. I just know we’re in for another wild ride with the rest of this series. Live Wire demonstrates incredible growth in Caisey Quinn’s writing. This author’s talent for story building, character development and forging emotional connections with the reader continuously blew me away. I enjoyed Live Wire this story continues from Lit Fuse. I like the storyline and how Chase and Viv’s past were dealt with and weren’t dragged throughout the book. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

The story laid out in Live Wire was started in a novella that I read several months ago. It blew me away, especially the end when Vivien Montgomery was killed and her boyfriend Chase was left devastated by the loss. I remember reading the end and thinking, "That can't be it."
Thankfully, that was not it.
Live Wire picks up four years later, as we learn that Vivien in fact did not die, but was taken in by the feds and put undercover to bring down some really bad people. When she was done her assignment, she was too afraid to go back to Chase in case he was so angry she lied to him he wouldn't speak to her. But now her hand is being forced and she is about to come face-to-face with the man she never stopped loving. And she has no idea how he's going to take it.
Needless to say, Chase doesn't take her return from the dead well. My heart absolutely broke for both of them. Chase was obviously feeling horribly betrayed because she never told him she was alive. Vivien is a mess because Chase is being so openly hostile toward her. I can understand both points of view. Neither Viven nor Chase are completely innocent of wrong.
I knew that Vivien's return was going to be emotional, but I was surprised by all the feels. Caisey Quinn did a wonderful job connecting me with both main characters. I was right in the story with them as they tried to figure out a way to work together again amidst all their past baggage.
To make matters even more complicated and stressful, there's someone after Vivien and Chase automatically steps in to protect her. Thankfully, they don't spend the entire book being hateful with one another, so there's still plenty of sexual chemistry and hot times between the sheets.
We get to spend a bit more time with Chase's fellow bomb squad members and get to know them in advance of their own books coming out. I'm really loving what I'm seeing and can't wait to see what their stories will bring. Because this one? Chase and Vivian's story? It was pretty epic.
