Jessa is in Ireland to get away and to finish her game design. Anxiety is a struggle for her so hiding out in a quiet castle sounds exactly like what she needs.

Rory is a bartender and the owner of a castle in need of repair. Without conferring with him his sister accepts a boarder for two weeks.

This story had highs and lows for me. I really liked the idea of the story. Going to a different country in search of something and finding something even better, works for me. Rory in the book was caring and sexy if a bit under developed. But all in all a likeable character. This is a short story so I didn't expect everything to be fully formed. The setting was fantastic, between an old pub and castle in Ireland, you could really imagine the places. The budding romance and the give and take between the two main characters again was on point for a story this length.

Here is where I had issues...Jessa was a mess of a character for me. At first I thought ok, a spunky game designer a bit stressed out needing a break, good start for a character. But for me her character didn't go anywhere. Constant bouts of anxiety and self doubt, and I do mean constant, drew me out of the story more than I would like. The issue of the hand fasting again confused me, and took away from the flow of the story for me. It's never clear either what what the hand fasting is supposed to mean to the characters.

That being said, I wouldn't say it's a bad story because its not, it's just a story I believe needs a bit more fleshing out and cleaning up. I think the ideas are great and the talent of the author is there, this just needs some more TLC before it's great. I could defiantly see this being a 5 star book with a little rework.

I loved this book. there were a couple of spelling mistakes but nothing too glaring.

I liked the characters and the way they developed.

What I really likes is the fact that the author whilst setting the book in Eire didn't make it for a specific town or village and as such couldn't make glaring mistakes about the shops, houses or geography. I once started to read a book that put a castle on a cliff by Inverness where you could see Loch Ness. Being a ling time resident there I can tell you that there is no such castle or cliff. It put me off so much that I didn't bother to read the rest of the book.

Back to this book, It's a good strong storyline with a beautiful HEA. I would encourage you to read it, and I'm going to try to get more of Meg's works to read.

Uh, this was absolutely adorable. I want a Rory of my very own. This had a bit of a Leap Year (movie)-esque quality to it, which works for me because I love that movie.

This is the third book I've read by Meg Cooper, and considering I enjoyed each one, I guess I will have to hunt down anything else by her I can find.
