This book describes different kinds of spirits. The reader will be amazed by some of the true accounts of these encounters. Later in the book he lays out a rough outline of the path that is followed in order to meet these beings.
Charles Webster Leadbeater was an influential member of the Theosophical Society, author on occult subjects and co-initiator with J.I. Wedgwood of the Liberal Catholic Church.
Originally a priest of the Church of England, his interest in spiritualism caused him to end his affiliation with Anglicanism in favour of the Theosophical Society, where he became an associate of Annie Besant. He became a high-ranking officer of the society, but resigned in 1906 amid a scandal. Accusations of his detractors were never proven and, with Besant's assistance, he was readmitted a few years later. Leadbeater went on to write over 69 books and pamphlets that examined in detail the hidden side of life as well as maintain regular speaking engagements. His efforts on behalf of the society assured his status as one of its leading members until his death in 1934.
To really understand this book, one needs to be familiar with theosophy and its tenets. The good news is that they have an extensive number of videos for free on their YouTube channel, which is primarily where I got my information.
The book itself isn't named correctly. Rather than a treatise on astral plane beings, it's more of a recruitment manual into Arhatship. It's clear and speaks truth but isn't for idle reading. Pablo Sender does a better job of explaining the Path in the aforementioned YouTube videos. The beginning of this book, however, was interesting, as it explained some angelic phenomena in practical terms (assuming one believes that it's possible to "practically" manipulate the astral realm.)
Not what I expected, but a decent read anyway. The stories and accounts of angels/projections are entertaining enough, though it’s very centered on human interaction rather than spirits of myth.
There seems to be a chapter missing in the kindle version from the original paperback copy I have. This book is excellent but it's unfortunate that parts are missing.
Please check the kindle version against the original. There are at least 2 episodes missing that I can remember. This is unfair to the reader
The book, Invisible Helpers’, brings to mind that “We’re all walking each other home.” And while walking, we’re also helping others and are being helped by those who’ve walked this path ‘above’ us.
Mostly anecdotes displaying various aspects of remote viewing, a little bit of instruction for moral fortitude, and other relatively useless material. Not a complete waste of time.
very good book for understanding how we get help by invisible helpers during our mediation, healing and prayer. i would say a must read for all healers
A very interesting introduction to the work of those who want to dedicate themselves to help humanity. The book starts by telling a lot of stories and examples of cases of rescue and help by invisible helpers, and then proceeds with the explanation of the discipleship way according to Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Interesting and inspiring.
