You know the history- in 1945, the bombs fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They say it ended the war. But it would never end the war for the internal strife and psychological terror the people of Hiroshima had experienced. I don't think any of us know how bad it got - until I found out about this book.

Why is this new book not more popular. It should be considered as good as and have the same praise as Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster

We need to raise awareness of what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

There isn't even a cover.

Long story short, psychiatrist Robert Jungk met with Kaoru Ogura (who, as solider at war and a civilian of Hiroshima could tell him much. But the two met up and interviewed people, asking them about their experiences. It's horrifying, beautiful and I can't wait to get into it.

I definitely recommend the NHK's documentary called "My Little Steps to Hiroshima". It's wonderful.

Shadows of the dead. It's heartbreaking. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the bombings, my friends?

I think it's a book that allows you to understand the reality of the tragedy of Hiroshima through the eyes of those who lived it on their skin

This book focuses on the bombing of Hiroshima and the aftermath and rebuiding of the city and all the social problems. It features quite a lot of personal accounts and is told through the stories of particular survivors as well as setting out the tangled political and economic problems that beset Hiroshima afterwards. As with all books about the atomic bombs dropped on Japan, it is a harrowing and saddening read.

An extraordinary book about insights of Japanese life after a nuclear attack to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
