I stumbled across this series a few months ago and legit fell in love. I love the dynamic between these friends and with each of their stories I love the group even more. Jackson is the fourth book in the series and from what we know of him so far he is so serious. Reading his book I can now say I had no idea just how serious this guy really is.
See Jackson, like myself, has plans, lists and life goals. I could very easily relate to Jackson. He has established his career and now he is ready to move on with the perfect woman and start a family. He is very meticulous in his dating and only dates women he could see marrying, I swear I really do get this guy!
Skylar is the opposite, she is actually the person I wish I was more like. She is spontaneous, live for the moment and super easy going. As it turns out she used to be like Jackson, until she realized life was short and we are not promised tomorrow. Now she lives for the here and now.
These two couldn’t be more opposite, but this is a story of opposites attracting. Skylar and Jackson balance each other out perfectly and together make the perfect couple. She is wild and crazy, he is reliable and a little boring. What could be an epic train wreck actually shows them both what they are missing in their lives. This doesn’t come without heartache or drama, but I liked how it all fit together. As you read the story you could see the foreshadowing and their issues seemed relevant.
I legit enjoy this series so much. It provides me with that easy, relaxed, happy feeling that I love to get when reading. It gives me my romance and sexy time fix without the angst that can make me crazy. I definitely recommend when you are in the mood for something lighter, but will still give you the feels.

Instead of the Bad Boy we have the very Naughty Girl
Get my walking stick honey…my bones are creaking. Yep, I’m feeling my age again. Look, Jackson is actually a really good story, left me happy, and with a goofy smile on my face…BUT…I nearly gave up at 73%. I’m glad I persevered, realised that I was nearly too hasty and that this part of the story really had to happen. The 73% mark wasn’t a throw my kindle across the room issue or even a WHY…WHY…WHY did he go there, kind of thing. The 73% mark was more a shaking head, rolling eyes…silly adrenaline junkies and the mischief they get up to, clanger. I am NOT an adrenaline junkie. I am NOT someone who’s looking for adventure. I am NOT looking to overcome a long-seated fear. So, for me, it took till nearly the end of the book to "get" the heroine of this story. She’s living her life to the fullest, making the most of each day, and trying to protect herself from hurt or heartbreak. I think we all WANT to be like this, but sometimes we need the push to make it happen. Skylar’s doesn’t want a beige life…she wants COLOUR!!
Jackson starts with a heartbreaking prologue that gives us a glimpse into Jackson’s life and what has steered him to live the way he does. He’s conservative, practical and looking into the future. Jackson is nearly thirty, successful in his career as an architect, and nearly all his friends are happy in serious relationships. Jackson is thinking about settling down and his written a list of what he’s looking for in a wife. Funny thing about writing lists and checking them twice, you don’t always know if you want the naughty or nice. Jackson tries both out…and of course, the naughty girl is so much more exciting than the nice girl.
Skylar is naughty, but she's not looking to be naughty, sometimes it just happens because she’s looking for fun. Skylar has fought and conquered some very nasty battles in her life which have left her on a mission to make the most of each day. She's not looking to the future, it's the here and now she's most concerned with. When she meets the very sexy, but a little too straight Jackson, she tries to stay away from him. He’s…relationship material…THE SHOCK…THE HORROR!! Of course, knowing such a good bloke really comes in handy when you’re in a spot of bother. It also helps that he'll drop whatever he's doing to help her out. The more time she spends with him, the more she likes him. Skylar is on a mission to make the very straight Jackson…a little crooked.
This story is very steamy, at times funny, but also extremely thought provoking. It touches on some very serious subjects that had me turning to hubby and asking him what he’d do in the same situation. To be honest, we were both stumped. I won’t tell you the question, but I will tell you his answer – I guess it depends on how much you love them? And that ladies and gentleman is the answer. You will do a lot for the one you love. You will move mountains…even if it gets you into trouble, finds you in a spot of bother, or leaves you wondering where your brain has gone. Love can bring you to the highest of highs or the lowest of lows.
In the end, I really enjoyed Jackson and loved seeing the progression of their relationship. I have not read any of the previous books in this series but had absolutely no problems following along. Saying that, I’m very tempted to go back and read all the other books because some of those characters were a CRACK UP!!

This was supposed to be a good book but the heroine ruined it for me.
Her character says that she’s adventurous – wants to live life to the fullest ever since she found out she has stage two cancer.
Sorry not sorry, but it seems heroine is careless and self-centered.
Though the cancer was cured, her outlook in life completely changed because of her ex-boyfriend who abandoned her during the chemo stage.
Not the cancer. The ex-boyfriend.
This means that she set her life focused in avoiding the baggage of what her ex-boyfriend did to her, not the cancer that infiltrated her healthy life.
Don’t get me wrong. Of course that would have been devastating. But not as devastating as cancer and the things a person needs to endure in order to prolong even just a fraction of life.
So in turn, she doesn’t have goals in life anymore. She chose to be a drifter, hopping from one state to another. She keeps changing jobs just to support her nomadic lifestyle.
Again, all because of the influence and aftermath of what her ex-boyfriend have done.
Also, heroine strikes me as a user.
She used Jackson in every possible way.
Plotting revenge, dodging reality, doing the deed to avoid confrontations, jeopardizing his career… and so on.
And the Hero? Uhm…
I’d like to say he’s weak. But it looks like he could pass as stupid too.
This book has potential. Good writing. Good story pacing.

I enjoyed this overall. I liked both Skylar and Jackson and I liked most of their story.
Jackson is straight laced, conservative, not a risk taker, and very protective of his younger sister after the death of his parents.
Skylar is wild, a risk taker, unconventional, and protective of her own heart. With reason, she has been through a lot and there are things in her past that it would take anyone a long time to get over, and to work through.
Jackson and Skylar make an opposites attract pair who work, for the most part. She shows him how to have fun, to loosen up, to let go a little and not let the rules pf life swallow him up. He shows her the value of committing to something, to making it work, and to doing your best at one thing.
Skylar, at one point, does allow her recklessness to get out of hand, with consequences for both of them. And, this is where I thought the book stretched a little past what I was willing to believe Jackson would forgive, even for her. There are things that are funny to joke about, and there are things that would be deal-breakers in real life, and in this case, I thought this would have ended them in real life, that it would have been too much for him to get past. I realize this is a book, but in order for me to totally invest in something, I have to believe the actions of the characters, and this one lost me at this point.
The writing was strong, the dialog was well-written and the pacing was consistent. I am not sold on the characterization of Jackson and Skylar, but this was not enough of an issue for me to be totally unwilling to recommend this book.

I don't know why I like this series so much. Seriously. I don't. But I'm always making "grabby hands" at my iPhone every time I see a new book from Ms. Jagger pop up on GR. It's kinda like my addiction to Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series. I almost roll my eyes at myself as soon as the urge to "grabby hands" comes over me for these authors.
This series is, essentially, pretty fluffy bunny. Sweet, and generally OW/OM drama free, with a side of no obstacles. But it's never too gag inducing. The H/h are almost always pretty hot for each other, even while resisting. I also appreciate the "pushing 30" age element in her books. I'm a bit tired of 19-22yo drama. The range of stupidity is often greater than my patience and I always feel HFN is about all they can hope for. I'd love to see a series from that age group 10 years down the road when they're all looking for new relationships. I'm a glutton, I know.

Opposites on fire. With a trajectory of immediate implosion upon contact.
So, low OM/OW drama. The H has 2 boring dates with one OW...no sexual interest from H. He feels like he should be pursuing a female that resembles his "wife requirement" list. It's sweet, not anger inducing as he realizes how BS such a list is. The OW lasts for 3O%. She's such a nonentity that I don't want the SG Ladies to bail on this because of her existence. The h thinks it's cute considering he ditches the OW mid-date to rescue the h from a flat tire.
The OM drama...her ex, who left her while she was going through cancer treatment, rears his head for 1.2 seconds in the middle of the H/h coming together. The H is not threatened. The h however was damaged by the whole dumping experience and this is the crux of her unwillingness to commit to anyone, much less the H, whom she's developing feelings for.
My only real bitch, an h who tried to solve (or avoid) shit with the H by flashing her panties and getting it on...read: distraction by sex.
The she gets him arrested...and the fireworks nearly burn their lives (and love) to the ground. I kinda think she deserves it.
SG Ladies: he dates random women (no sex/kissing) while they're separated. He's looking for a wife so he's trying to prove to himself how wrong the h is for him. You never even see him on these dates. He has the dates at the bar he co-owns so he can dump them quicker. This is like 3 pages of time and then it's over.
3.5 stars cuz I can't help myself with this series...

I have enjoyed every single book in this series. The dynamics between the friends in this group are so entertaining, endearing and funny plus they are all so loyal to each other. The Heroes are alpha players but once they find that special woman they are hooked. Then there is Jackson. Jackson is a sweet guy. He is focussed, driven, loyal, determined and a little bit......sensible. Actually he is very straight down the line, law abiding and very, very sensible. At times, Jackson was verging on being too sensible.......but then he met Skylar. She is the reverse of him. Mischievous, spontaneous, living in the moment and seize the day kind of girl. Think the tortoise and the hare. Think slow, easy Summer day meets a hurricane. These two push each other's buttons but they fall hard for each other too. Then things get really HOT.Jackson may be mild mannered in day to day life but ,phew, that man can talk dirty and make some moves that make sure you could never call him boring. *shakes head and fans self*
Jackson and Sky both have reasons for living as they do. They are opposites in many ways but together they balance each other out. Loved this book. It was so much fun to get to understand Jackson and what makes him tick. Skyler was a perfect addition to the group and a perfect complement for Jackson.

Nachdem ich KNOX gelesen habe, musste ich einfach wissen wie es mit Jackson weitergeht. Das Buch fing wirklich gut an, jedoch hatte ich Skylar schon nach kurzer Zeit satt. Sie war für mich zu kindisch und unreif. Nachdem man herausgefunden hat wieso sie so ist versteht man sie schon ein bisschen. Dennoch finde ich nicht dass man sich dadurch so verantwortungslos und kindisch verhalten muss. Einige Szenen im Buch fand ich schon wirklich süß, aber das Buch hat mich leider nicht überzeugt und ich habe nach der Hälfte vom Buch nur noch gehofft das die beiden nicht zusammenbleiben bzw. am Ende nicht zusammenkommen. Jackson war für mich perfekt. Er hat sich aber leider zu sehr an Skylar angepasst um ihren Wünschen nachzugehen, was mich etwas gestört hat, da Skylar nicht dasselbe für ihn getan hat.
Der Schreibstil der Autorin war dafür genau wie im Vorgänger super locker und fließend. Auch wenn mir der letzte Band nicht so gefallen hat, werde ich mir Band 1 und 2 dennoch holen, da ich einfach wissen muss wie Cash und Ryder sind.

I received an ARC of this phenomenal book in exchange for an honest review and I am very happy I got my hands on that gem before the release date :) cause I loved it :) I will forever be grateful for the fact that the lovely Eve reached out to me a few months ago with a proposition to review her previous book :) I fell in love with her writing style and all the characters and this book was no exception... :) although my sister, J, claimed that I did not deserve to read it before everyone else.. ;) why, you ask? oh, I'll tell you ;) I still haven't read the first two books in this series... *hangs my head in shame" I know... I know... but I WILL get to them very soon :) they are on my list of 20-ish books that I'm reading first, once I'll dig myself out of all the ARCs I signed up for, and I am like two weeks away from doing just that :) but J didn't buy that explanation and she WAS giving me some very nasty looks every time she saw me reading this story :) but I love her anyway :) now that we have this little intro out of the way, let's get to all the awesome details of this book, shall we? :)
So first of all, our main couple :) I honestly didn't expect to love Jackson as much as I did :) I remember him from the previous story and... he was ok ;) but once I got to know him more, I was really surprised by how much I connected with him :) he's a successful architect who always have a plan... :) so imagine his, and ours as readers surprise, when Skylar catches his attention :) she's so full of live, living in the moment... :) well, it's not exactly shocking that he's fascinated by her... what's more shocking is that the feeling doesn't go away ;) they are like day and night :) but of course not everything may be as it seems... Jackson is not always a stiff, serious businessman with a plan... he can loosen up from time to time... and Skylar's story hides some very sad stuff... there is a reason why her motto is "live a little" and seizing the day... to the point where she tends to have small panic attacks when she feels cornered by thoughts about future and any sort of plans... but no spoilers from me :) they are a very explosive mix, so things definitely does not go smoothly between them... ;) but it's a wild ride that you absolutely want to be a part of :)
Besides those two, there is of course a bunch of other amazing characters :) since they are all friends, previous couples make appearances throughout the whole book :) and even if you are new to this series, getting glimpses of Ryder and Cassie, Cash and Savannah or Knox and Shelby will make you want to read their stories :) I don't want to go into too many details about all of them, because we would be here all day if I started to describe their awesomeness :) what you need to know is that all the guys, along with the fifth one, Parker, are business partners and friends :) the girls formed friendships of their own and all those group interactions are a fantastic addition to each book :) they give you a little insight into other characters and just make you curious to read their stories, if you haven't done that already :) but don't worry, each of those books can be read as a standalone, so it doesn't really matter where you start :)
I absolutely fell in love with this book :) again, it was written in 2 POVs and with that phenomenal writing style that I am already expecting from Eve Jagger :) I inhaled this book because I simply could not put it down :) it was a perfect mix of hilarious moments with much more emotional ones... I mean that prologue... it almost made me cry and I barely started the book... but that's just another sign of a talented author :) and even though I usually relate to the heroines more, this time it was Jackson who stole my heart... :) don't get me wrong, I absolutely adored Skylar, but Jackson... *sighs* I just wanted to hug him :) so no matter if you are already a fan of previous books written by Eve or you are brand new to her stories, definitely pick this one up :)

So first of all, our main couple :) I honestly didn't expect to love Jackson as much as I did :) I remember him from the previous story and... he was ok ;) but once I got to know him more, I was really surprised by how much I connected with him :) he's a successful architect who always have a plan... :) so imagine his, and ours as readers surprise, when Skylar catches his attention :) she's so full of live, living in the moment... :) well, it's not exactly shocking that he's fascinated by her... what's more shocking is that the feeling doesn't go away ;) they are like day and night :) but of course not everything may be as it seems... Jackson is not always a stiff, serious businessman with a plan... he can loosen up from time to time... and Skylar's story hides some very sad stuff... there is a reason why her motto is "live a little" and seizing the day... to the point where she tends to have small panic attacks when she feels cornered by thoughts about future and any sort of plans... but no spoilers from me :) they are a very explosive mix, so things definitely does not go smoothly between them... ;) but it's a wild ride that you absolutely want to be a part of :)
Besides those two, there is of course a bunch of other amazing characters :) since they are all friends, previous couples make appearances throughout the whole book :) and even if you are new to this series, getting glimpses of Ryder and Cassie, Cash and Savannah or Knox and Shelby will make you want to read their stories :) I don't want to go into too many details about all of them, because we would be here all day if I started to describe their awesomeness :) what you need to know is that all the guys, along with the fifth one, Parker, are business partners and friends :) the girls formed friendships of their own and all those group interactions are a fantastic addition to each book :) they give you a little insight into other characters and just make you curious to read their stories, if you haven't done that already :) but don't worry, each of those books can be read as a standalone, so it doesn't really matter where you start :)
I absolutely fell in love with this book :) again, it was written in 2 POVs and with that phenomenal writing style that I am already expecting from Eve Jagger :) I inhaled this book because I simply could not put it down :) it was a perfect mix of hilarious moments with much more emotional ones... Oh how I missed the Sexy Bastards.
I truly enjoy Eve Jagger's books. They're such an easy, light read that I can always count on them to get me out of my reading slumps or to pick me up when I'm having a bad day.
This book was really good. I don't have much to say about it, it's a steamy book, a quick read, an entertaining story. This is the sort of book you should get into without much knowing. It's just really good.
I truly enjoy Eve Jagger's books. They're such an easy, light read that I can always count on them to get me out of my reading slumps or to pick me up when I'm having a bad day.

I loved this series despite being late to the game and fell in love with the characters immediately when I picked the previous book. Well this time around, it Jackson in the driving seat after his sister Shelly has found love with one of his friends Knox. So get ready for this man to have a taste of his own medicine.
Now he is back to his normal life bar worrying about his younger sister which been the bane of his life by choice even since his parents died. A straight lace conservative who dreams of the perfect life with the perfect wife. He is one step closer to that dream becoming the architect for a project that could take his career to the next level .
Until he met Skylar, the girl who lives in the moment, not willing to commit and delve into the past. Taking a risk is part of her life and when she gets into trouble and gets rescued by Jackson. It should of ended there. As she a free spirit something far from she wants.
However Skylar and Jackson, both have other ideas and fate does too. One turns into a chance opportunity soon becomes a common reoccurrence as they fall each and balance each other out. As them together makes them perfect with one all about the fun and the other all about the rules.
They show each other possibilities of what they could be if they embraced some new possibilities but with relationship as its highs and the lows
As he may be the designer between the bars that have the city taking and a silent partner with his friends in those bars. But Jackson is the straight forward thinker, so when the girl he thought could be perfect wrong prove just right that. Will this Sexy Bastard get his happily ever after.
Jagger returns to the world of Sexy Bastards with a bang , with a walk up call for Jackson that may leave you wondering what in earth that you reading. As Skylar was a little too perfect with her button pushing and it made for some tough love with this novel.
As otherwise I loved this book as the author knows how to write and provide a novel that will captivate old and new fans. As the characters embody their roles perfectly and it was fun watching them slowly become the perfect person for the other.
I can’t wait hopefully for the next book, please let there be a book for Parker!

A classic tale of opposites attract and the fourth book in the Sexy Bastard series, although it can be read as a standalone.
Jackson is finally hitting the big time with his architect company. His life plan of building a business, finding a wife and family are now starting to come to fruition, well except the wife part. He knows his ideal on paper but it’s the meeting them in the flesh that’s the problem as none of the women he has met give him that connection. That is until he meets Skylar who is so not what he is looking for as his wife. But then life has a funny way of putting curveballs in your path. This utterly beguiling but wild woman is a force to be reckoned with but she is definitely getting under his skin and the attraction he feels for her is off the charts.
Skylar is hiding a wealth of hurt from her past so she has learnt to not invest her feelings and love in any man again. After the last time she was left desolate and heartbroken. Although she can see the attraction with Jackson, he is so not her type with his conservative and conventional ways. But he is so darn sexy, perhaps casual hook ups could be the answer with him?
I liked the switch around in how the typical characters of romance books are normally portrayed, where the man is the one for casual hook ups and the woman being the serious half of the H/h. This was therefore refreshing. I do like this series in its simplistic storylines that deliver a whole lot of sexiness and romance.
A good addition to the series and I enjoyed it. Four stars.

Yum. That's the first word that comes to my mind when I think of this book.
Jackson is such a serious person and very goal orientated in his life. He's not looking for a 'hook-up', he's looking for Mrs. Forever.
Skylar is the complete opposite. She just wants a hook-up and lives in the here and now. She doesn't look for tomorrow.
When first starting to read this book I couldn't decide if I liked Skylar or not. I think it was more that the way she's living life made me uncomfortable. She's almost dangerous not only to herself by others that she is with and I thought that Jackson would get hurt or get into a difficult situation. I don't think she means to be. She's just living her life to the absolute fullest. We get 'hints' that there is underlying reasons on why Skylar lives life the way she does. Once I got to know Skylar's story I realizes how strong and courageous she is.
I do think that the more Jackson is around Skylar the more he loosens up, relaxes and enjoys life more. He's one in a million.

I think it does well as stand alone but I do plan on reading the whole series and re-reading this book as characters 'revisit' and I think I'd appreciate the relationship of all the characters more.

Jackson by Eve Jagger from the Sexy Bastard series was a quick and sexy book. I read this book in one sitting, couldn't put it down. I loved Jackson from Knox’s book and was excited to read his story. He's the uptight one of the group, with all of his check list and rules. He meets the free spirited Skylar that only know how to live in the moment. I loved how they met, how Jackson thought she was a stripper not the kind of wife material he thought he wanted. They couldn't be more different but like the saying goes “opposites attract”. These two couldn't stay away from one another. There are many ups and downs for the pair but somehow they always come back together. Just like all the other Sexy Bastard stories this one brought back all my favorites characters from past books. It's alway nice to see how their stories continue. I highly recommend Jackson by Eve Jagger it's a whole lotta sweet and sexy with a side of emotional surprise not too many of her books contain. A must read!!! I was given this ARC for my honest opinion.

I have loved Eve's Dirty Bastards series and couldn't wait to read Jackson's story. Having gotten a peek at him in his sister's story I knew his would be so good. Jackson likes his world in order. A world he can plan and control. Then Sky just blows his plans all to hell and he feels absolutely out of control and falls hard for the girl. Poor Sky has been through so much and lives in the moment because of that. She resists falling for him, but ultimately has to give in to the man. I loved that these two were so opposite yet completed each other.

Love this series. It's fun, sweet, serious and sexy. Jackson is "the serious one" and Skylar is a "wild girl". I'm a sucker for a good "boy loses girl and is miserable" plot.
This series satisfies because it's sweet, but not too sweet; serious enough to give good back story for well developed characters; well written with great friend relationships and dialogue.
Can't wait for Parker.

Another great read from Eve Jagger! This next chapter in the Sexy Bastard series is a highly enjoyable page turner. I had been looking forward to Jackson's story and it doesn't disappoint in the slightest. It's also great checking in with the other characters and seeing what they're up to. I highly recommend this book!

Vorweg sei gesagt, dass es sich bei jeder Rezension um meine persönliche Meinung handelt. Das Cover ähnelt denen der anderen Bücher dieser Reihe. Ich habe bereits die vorherigen Teile gelesen, die mir ganz gut gefallen haben. So war für mich schnell klar, dass ich auch den dritten Teil lesen möchte. Ich habe die Atlanta Bad Boys schnell in mein Herz geschlossen. Man kennt die meisten Charaktere natürlich schon aus den vorherigen Büchern. Diesmal geht es um Skylar und Jackson, Shelbys großen Bruder. Schon der Prolog ist sehr emotional. Während dieser in der Vergangenheit erzählt wird, spielt der Rest der Story in der Gegenwart. Der Schreibstil ist flüssig, gepaart mit viel Gefühl. Jackson hat die Chance die „Alpharetta Shopping Plaza“ zu entwerfen. Ein Traumprojekt für jeden Architekten und die perfekte Möglichkeit um alle Türen zu öffnen. Jackson liebt seine Schwester über alles, und würde alles tun um sie zu beschützen. Er träumt davon die Liebe zu finden und endlich sesshaft zu werden. Da trifft er auf Tänzerin Skylar. Sofort ist er von ihr angetan, doch anders als er will sie sich nicht fest binden. Sie will einfach nur ihr Herz schützen und keine Gefühle näher an sich heranlassen. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Büchern ist hier die Frau die treibende Kraft. Skylar ist spontan und unberechenbar und man weiß nie womit man als nächstes rechnen muss. Sie ist sehr direkt und weiß genau was sie will. Und mit ihrer dominanten Art nimmt sie sich dies auch ohne Umschweife. Es geht auch in diesem Buch relativ schnell zur Sache. Die intimen Szenen sind sehr heiß und leidenschaftlich. Jackson ist mir schnell ans Herz gewachsen. Ich finde seine Wünsche so süß und bodenständig. Im Verlauf des Buches erfährt der Leser auch, warum Skylar ihr Herz so verschlossen hält. Ein Buch das mit viel Gefühl und Leidenschaft zu überzeugen weiß. Von mir gibt es eine ganz klare Leseempfehlung.

Er träumt davon die Liebe zu finden und endlich sesshaft zu werden. Da trifft er auf Tänzerin Skylar. Sofort ist er von ihr angetan, doch anders als er will sie sich nicht fest binden. Sie will einfach nur ihr Herz schützen und keine Gefühle näher an sich heranlassen. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Büchern ist hier die Frau die treibende Kraft. Skylar ist spontan und unberechenbar und man weiß nie womit man als nächstes rechnen muss. Sie ist sehr direkt und weiß genau was sie will. Und mit ihrer dominanten Art nimmt sie sich dies auch ohne Umschweife. Es geht auch in diesem Buch relativ schnell zur Sache. Die intimen Szenen sind sehr heiß und leidenschaftlich. Jackson ist mir schnell ans Herz gewachsen. Ich finde seine Wünsche so süß und bodenständig. Im Verlauf des Buches erfährt der Leser auch, warum Skylar ihr Herz so verschlossen hält. Ein Buch das mit viel Gefühl und Leidenschaft zu überzeugen weiß. Von mir gibt es eine ganz klare Leseempfehlung.

Une fois n’est pas coutume, mais pour notre héroïne est une bad girl qui va mener la danse. Ce tome a comme un goût de liberté, on met en avant une vie libre et sans obligation qui prend des risques pour se sentir vivante. Notre héroïne n’entre pas dans le moule et c’est cette liberté qui va séduire notre héros très calme.
Pour Jackson son avenir est tout tracé, à tête d’un cabinet d’architecte à succès son travail le comble et il est proche d’atteindre le statut tant convoité dans sa profession, la suite logique est bien évidemment de fonder sa propre famille et pour ce faire, le jeune homme va suivre scrupuleusement la liste de la femme parfaite qu’il s’est construit, seulement en rencontrant la volcanique Skylar, il va réaliser que « la femme idéale » semble avoir quelques défauts et ses pensées ne cesseront de s’évader vers cette superbe femme qui s’éloigne de ses critères.
Skylar est une héroïne qu’on n’a pas l’habitude de voir dans la littérature, la jeune femme vit sa vie sans contrainte et sa soif de liberté semble ne pas avoir de limites. On dit souvent que la première rencontre est déterminante et bien celle-ci est assez particulière et ça rend l’histoire assez amusante. Face au séduisant Jackson elle ne va pas se faire prier pour répondre à ses avances, seulement il n’a rien à avoir avec les autres hommes qu’elle a côtoyés, il ne prend pas tout ce qu’on lui donne, au contraire il donne tout ce qu’il a pour rendre ses proches heureux. Bien qu’elle éprouve une attirance pour lui, elle est consciente qu’il veut quelque chose de stable, alors qu’elle est dans une optique de vivre sa vie à fond sans attaches, ses certitudes vont vaciller avec une rencontre inattendue.
Du côté de notre héros, j’ai pendant une bonne partie de ma lecture grincé des dents face à certaines réactions de Skylar. Jackson est absolument adorable et on attend toute d’un homme qu’il réagisse de cette manière. Il est dans l’optique de trouver la femme de sa vie, sans pour autant en faire des tonnes. Il réagit juste comme un gentleman et par moments il a du mal à se lâcher complètement, mais il va pouvoir compter sur sa charmante nouvelle amie pour le sortir de sa zone de confort et contribuer à le rendre plus détendu. J’ai été particulièrement séduite par ce personnage qui n’a rien à voir avec les autres hommes de la bande, mais qui reste appétissant.
En bref, un quatrième opus qui dresse un portrait différent, mais qui réussit à proposer un récit touchant et drôle. Le passé de nos personnages contribue grandement à l’attachement que j’éprouve pour leur réaction et bien qu’ils soient tous les deux conscients qu’ils ne forment pas un tout, le romantisme et le partage sont bien présents et on comprend bien avant eux leurs sentiments. La lecture idéale pour se détendre et rêvasser les yeux ouverts. Jackson est un personnage plus calme et posé, et c’est agréable un héros qui s’éloigne un peu du schéma classique. Moment détente garantie !

Im Leben läuft nichts nach Plan - auch nicht für Jackson und Skylar
Zum Inhalt
Skylar, wild, laut, leidenschaftlich, abenteuerlich und überaus attraktiv, lernt Jackson (heiß und sexy) in einem Stripclub kennen. Jackson sucht eigentlich die Frau fürs Leben, am liebsten per Dating Agentur und mit einer Liste voller entsprechender Charakter-Eigenschaften, die er von seiner zukünftigen Frau erwartet. Also auf keinen Fall jemanden wie Skylar. Er führt ein geregeltes Leben, ist strukturiert und verantwortungsvoll. Er ist erfolgreich im Beruf als Architekt und hat für alles IMMER einen Plan. Aber trotzdem spukt Skylar in seinem Kopf herum und ständig treffen sie aufeinander. Nachdem er sie zweimal aus einer misslichen Lage gerettet hat, fangen sie – wider besseren Wissens an, miteinander auszugehen.
Aber kann das gut gehen, wo sie beide charakterlich derart unterschiedlich sind und beide solch ungleiche Vorstellungen vom Leben haben???

Wiedereinmal sieht man ein Titelbild mit heißem Männerbody und Anzughose. Die Farbgebung ist sehr elegant, in dunklen abgestuften Grautönen und nur der Schriftzug hebt sich durch die gelbe Farbe ab. Eigentlich ist alles sehr geschmackvoll und gefällig dargestellt.
Allerdings muss ich leider auch sagen, dass mittlerweile fast jedes erotisch angehauchte Buch solch ein Titelbild hat. Das wird langsam langweilig, und man kann irgendwann die Reihen Zugehörigkeit nicht mehr erkennen. Es wäre schön, wenn da mal ein Umdenken bei den Mediengestaltern geschehen würde.
Meine Meinung
Vorab
Dies ist nun schon der vierte und letzte Teil der Serie rund um die Atlanta Bad Boys. Aber was ist mit Parker? Bekommt er keine eigene Geschichte? Das finde ich sehr schade und hoffe noch auf einen 5. Teil.
Nachdem ich bisher alle vorangegangenen Bände gelesen habe, muss ich echt sagen, dieser letzte Teil ist für mich leider auch der schwächste. Vielleicht liegt es auch an der Hauptprotagonistin. Mit Skylar bin ich nicht so richtig „warm“ geworden.
Obwohl man das Buch auch ohne Vorkenntnisse lesen könnte, würde ich allerdings empfehlen, vorher die anderen Bücher zu lesen. Man erfährt dort einiges über den Zusammenhalt und die Verflechtung der Pärchen und man versteht dann auch besser die Gruppendynamik untereinander.
Schreibstil und Erzähl-Perspektive
Eve Jagger versteht es, ihre Leser mit ihrem lockeren, leichten und modernen Schreibstil gekonnt zu unterhalten. Mit viel Herzblut zeichnet die Autorin die Welt rund um Skylar und Jackson, und lässt ihre Leser an den Gefühlen, Emotionen und Handlungen der Protagonisten teilhaben. Dazu sind ihre Beschreibungen so plastisch und bildlich, dass ich manche Szenen genau vor Augen hatte.
Erzählt wird die Geschichte abwechselnd aus Skylars und Jacksons Perspektive und in der Ich-Form, die mir ja die allerliebste ist. Da kann ich direkt in die Köpfe der Protagonisten eintauchen und weiß sofort, was sie denken und fühlen und natürlich wie sie handeln.
Natürlich bedient sich die Autorin an manchen Klischees und klar, sind ein paar Handlungen auch voraussehbar, was man als hoffnungslos romantischer Leser jedoch sehr gerne in Kauf nimmt, denn die Geschichte an sich ist doch unterhaltsam. Und tatsächlich klingen auch ein paar ernstere Töne durch, vor allem wenn Skylar sich endlich mal öffnet und ihr Herz ausschüttet. Das hat mich doch sehr berührt, und es erklärt auch, warum sie so ist, wie sie ist.
Handlungen und Charaktere
Skylar hat in der Vergangenheit Schlimmes erlebt, und dieses traumatische Erlebnis hat bis heute Spuren bei ihr hinterlassen. Sie lebt im Hier und Jetzt, will nur noch Spaß und keine Verantwortung. Sie hat ihr Herz verschlossen und will auch keinen mehr näher an sich heranlassen.
Als sie auf Jackson trifft, ist sie noch der Überzeugung auch nur Spaß mit ihm zu wollen, doch sie entwickelt so nach und nach Gefühle für ihn.
Jacksons Gefühlschaos ist perfekt, als Skylar in seinem Leben auftaucht und sein streng geordnetes Leben und seine präzisen Listen durcheinander wirbelt. Denn als verantwortungslose und abenteuerliche vermeintliche Stripperin fällt Skylar eigentlich durch sein Listen-Raster. Auch er hat sein „Päckchen“ zu tragen und dadurch ist er auch geprägt. Er musste viel Verantwortung schon in jungen Jahren übernehmen, und ist so zu dem manchmal recht konservativen und disziplinierten Mann geworden. Aber es steckt noch so viel mehr in ihm.
Die Chemie zwischen ihnen wird heiß und heißer. Ihre witzigen Wortgefechte sind einfach nur lustig. Sie schenken sich echt nichts. Auch ihre Dates sind ungewöhnlich. Egal ob im Freiluftkino, auf dem Spielplatz, in der Kletterhalle oder im Lager: es gibt jede Menge aberwitzige Situationen. Und natürlich viel Sex. Es geht ordentlich zur Sache, die Erotikszenen sind scharf, pikant und heiß. Allerdings nehmen sie auch einen Großteil der Handlungen ein. Mag auch daran liegen, dass Skylar Konflikte oder Stresssituationen mit Jackson meist durch Sex löst. Ich muss gestehen, irgendwann, nach dem x-ten Sex-Ereignis und der gefühlten 100-ten Kondomverpackung habe ich weitergeblättert, weil es fast ermüdend ist, immer und immer das Gleiche zu lesen. Weniger ist manchmal mehr.
Skylars diverse verrückte Aktionen gingen mir doch teilweise ein bisschen zu weit. Vor allem der Showdown im Büro des Bankmanagers. Da kann ich Jacksons Reaktion echt nachvollziehen
Es gibt noch ein paar kleinere Hindernisse, die sich den Beiden in den Weg stellen und es wird sich zeigen, ob ihre Liebe stärker ist als alle Schwierigkeiten, und vor allem, wird Jackson Skylar verzeihen können? Tja, das müsst ihr selber lesen!!
Auch die Clique rund um Jackson, akzeptieren Skylar und nehmen sie in ihrer Mitte auf. Die Dynamik zwischen den Freunden in dieser Gruppe ist wunderbar unterhaltsam, liebenswert und auch witzig, so dass man sich einfach freut, wieder von ihnen zu lesen. Besonders schön finde ich die Loyalität zwischen ihnen. Und was sie sich zum Schluss ausgedacht haben: PERFEKT'!!
Das Ende kommt dann etwas schnell um die Ecke, und leider gibt es auch keinen Epilog. Ich hätte sehr gerne noch einiges an Erläuterungen oder Ergänzungen zu den jeweiligen anderen Paaren gelesen.
Fazit
Es ist kein leidenschaftlicher oder tiefgründiger Roman, aber einer der unterhält und der über verpasste Gelegenheiten, Freundschaft, Geheimnisse, wahre Liebe und Neuanfängen erzählt. Wer bisher alle drei Teile gelesen hat, sollte auch diesen 4. Teil lesen. Durch den humorvollen und locker-leichten Schreibstil punktet die Autorin zusätzlich. Nicht zu vergessen, die wirklich gut ausgearbeiteten Charaktere.
Alles in allem hat mich der Roman unterhalten und ich kann ihn wirklich, trotz der kleinen Schwächen, weiterempfehlen.
Daher vergebe ich 4 liebenswerte Sterne und freue mich schon jetzt auf eine eventuelle neue Serie der Autorin, oder vielleicht auf einen 5. Atlanta Bad Boy Roman??

Ich habe bisher alle Bände in dieser Reihe gelesen und verschlungen, ja geliebt. Zu diesem Band muss ich leider sagen, er reichte bei weitem nicht an die seine Vorgänger heran. Vielleicht weil es der letzte Band in dieser Serie ist? Oder vielleicht ging auch nur irgendwie die Luft aus bei der Autorin beim Schreiben, oder sie wollte einfach die Serie schnell abschließen? Ich weiß nicht woran es lag, aber leider ist dieses Buch hinter meinen Erwartungen zurück geblieben. Kann sein, dass andere Leser es anders empfinden, aber mir ging es jedenfalls so. Skylar als Charakter ist mir zu flatterhaft und pupertär. Er sagte einfach zu allem was Skylar tat und wollte ja und Amen, wo ist sein Wille in dieser Beziehung hin? Seine Eigenständigkeit? Im realen Leben sind solche Beziehungen über kurz oder lang zum Scheitern verurteilt, wenn eine Person sich der anderen komplett anpasst. Dann gab es auch wieder Szenen (ich will hier nicht spoilern) in denen ich den Handlungsablauf nicht nachvollziehen konnte, da sie völlig irrationales Handeln beinhalteten. Zumindest der „Ottonormalverbraucher“ würde so zusammenhanglos nicht handeln. Die Hintergrundgeschichte fand ich jetzt auch nicht wirkich glaubhaft, denn ich hatte das Gefühl beim Lesen, dass man einen Grund suchte um die erotische Beziehung der Beiden irgendwie einzuweben und dem Buch dadurch ein wenige mehr Handlung zu geben. Kurz gesagt, ich vermisste den Jackson aus den anderen Bänden, so wie man ihn kannte. Skylar hingegen konnte mich nicht überzeugen. Positiv war aber dass man wieder einen guten und leicht lesbaren Schreibstil der anderen Bände hatte. Ich kann dem Buch leider nur 3 Sterne geben, weil es mich nicht so wirklich packen konnte und ich den BAD BOY vermisst habe. Ich hoffe aber auf neue interessante Bücher der Autorin.

Ich habe bisher alle Bände in dieser Reihe gelesen und verschlungen, ja geliebt. Zu diesem Band muss ich leider sagen, er reichte bei weitem nicht an die seine Vorgänger heran. Vielleicht weil es der letzte Band in dieser Serie ist? Oder vielleicht ging auch nur irgendwie die Luft aus bei der Autorin beim Schreiben, oder sie wollte einfach die Serie schnell abschließen? Ich weiß nicht woran es lag, aber leider ist dieses Buch hinter meinen Erwartungen zurück geblieben. Kann sein, dass andere Leser es anders empfinden, aber mir ging es jedenfalls so. Skylar als Charakter ist mir zu flatterhaft und pupertär. Wracam do tej serii po roku k nadal mnie śmieszy to że wszystkie tomy w tytule mają imię głównego bohatera, oprócz pierwszego który mówi o Riderze a jest pod tytułem Hard 😂. Szczerze mówiąc... Nie spodziewałam się że autorka wprowadzi chorą na raka bohaterkę. Myślałam że Sky jest taka wyluzowana bo tak o, jak bardzo się myliłam.

Po dwóch poprzednich częściach, które średnio mi się podobały, przyszedł czas na zakończenie całej serii. Spodziewałam się przeciętnej historii, jednak bardzo się zaskoczyłam, ponieważ powieść ta była naprawdę dobra.
W końcu nie skupiamy się tylko na scenach erotycznych, tylko dochodzi nam też jakaś fabuła. Wciąż nie jest tak skomplikowana i zaskakująca, jak to było w przypadku 1 tomu, ale na pewno jest lepsza niż 2 czy 3 część.
Bohaterowie bardzo przypadli mi gustu. Nie jest to wymagająca lektura. Idealna na kilka godzin. Nie możemy od niej oczekiwać nie wiadomo czego, ale na pewno warto zapoznać się z całą serią.

Ta książka to jakieś totalne dno. Nie dość, że postaci są płytkie i bardzo powierzchowne i myślą tylko o seksie, to na dodatek cała historia nie jest porywająca nawet w najmniejszym stopniu. Nie wiem jaki cel miała autorka pisząc takie gówno.
Skylar jest nienormalna, nie potrafi zaufać, a jej zachowanie jet takie, że aż mnie skręca w środku. Nie ma zahamowań, ale w złym tego słowa znaczeniu, po prostu odwala manianę. A Jackson? Niby porządny architekt, ale Skylar sprowadza go na złą drogę.

Les opposés s’attirent toujours, et cela nous offre souvent de jolies romances à parcourir avec son lot d’échanges conflictuels. Skylar, qui ne souhaite pas s’engager dans quoi que ce soit, va être difficile à convaincre. Jackson ayant que de bonnes intentions envers elle sont pourtant loin de la laisser de marbre. Elle va sans cesse le repousser, mettre une distance entre eux, si bien que Jackson va finir par croire qu’elle peut lui être néfaste.....

this is my favorite sexy bastard novels(so far, if there is one more coming; Parker). I recommend it to every one and anyone. I found myself crying at least 2 or 3 times. I had to muster a lot of courage to read it after tears rained down my eyes. I will not offer any spoilers, because trust me this book beautiful, heart warming and captivating, you will not regret it. Eve Jagger has my at most admiration for writing this piece of art!
