This one was sort of Meh for me. I'm glad this was a library book and not one I paid for. When the kid is the highlight of the characters in a romance, it makes for a struggle to read. The hero and heroine are kind of whiney and difficult. There doesn't seem to be any real sexual tension between them. I assume I will continue the series but maybe not.

Vivian's brother Travers ends up with custody of the Fates, and finds himself on a crazy vacation to Las Vegas with his 11-year-old son, Kyle, as they look for private eye Zoe, who may be the key in restoring the Fates back to their former position.

While I enjoyed the story and the characters, the romance fell flat to me. Both Zoe and Travers are interesting characters, but it seemed like they fell in love because they "should", not because it happened naturally. Leaving that aside, the storyline was fun, and the Fates continue to be amusing. Kyle is a good character, not falling into the "adorable moppet" trap. I have to wonder what comes next for the Fates!

Book 5 in this series of zany, light reads. In this one, the Fates are still with no power and are trying to find the mystic spinning wheel that they had when first starting out in their job. Towards this end, they had to Vegas with a human man and his 11 year old son looking to meet up with a 150 year old mage. Several cases of sun poisoning occur, there are meetings with fae, the replacement Fates and even an incompetent mage and his unhappy familiar, a very over-weight dachsund.

Pretty good story, but not Grayson's best. I really like Kyle-he's such a sweet kid. Travers is too oblivious and Zoe is interesting, but not as intriquing as some of the other heroines. So far, I feel like the Fates Crisis arc is a little rushed, but I like that the siblings are the main characters so there is some continuity.

Kyle is adorably smart. Travers is handsome and tight strung, and Zoe is waiting to be loved. The characters made me laugh so hard. Great.

I was expecting a good romance novel but I kept on getting distracted by the magic of it all. The first chapter nearly made me not want to finish the rest of the book.

It was one of those books where it felt like she spent 250 pages on the set up and then realized that she could only use 50 more pages to get to a conclusion.
