Shon is the second book in the Seeker series and while you technically don't have to read the first book to understand what is going on I highly recommend that you do because it picks up right where the previous one leaves off (and not to mention it's pretty damn amazing itself).
The evil Gina and Seekers are still running amok and they have a new target. Gina has a plan and she doesn't care who she has to torture or kill to see that plan come to fruition. This book is a little darker and what happens to Laura had me gasping out loud! The evilness of the Seeker society left me in shock and I was on pins and needles not sure what was going to happen next.
Shon is...... cocky. He's also funny, protective, possessive and an idiot sometimes. But what alpha male isn't when he's around his mate? As much as I wanted to smack him for the things that he did to Laura I also wanted to hug him. He truly loved her and just wanted to keep her safe.
Laura is smart and funny and stubborn with a capital S. She makes some very bad decisions that almost cost her her life but she does it with the same misguided intentions as Shon. All she wanted to do was protect the ones she loved.
Laura and Shon were meant to be together and I loved them as a couple. You could actually feel their love for each other. As the book progressed and they had one thing after another thrown at them, be it enemies or misunderstandings, they fought with everything they had for each other. *happy sighs*
This book has everything that you could want, romance, action, intrigue, and all the feels. And I am soooo excited for the next book in the series featuring Vlad, the King of Vampires and Nita *side eyes a certain book blogger* the ass kicking shifter.
Shon is another phenomenal book by Ditter Kellen who has more than earned her place on my favorite author autobuy list! I can't recommend this series enough!
Shon is a continuation of The Seeker Series and Kellen did not miss a beat picking up where the original story left off. At the beginning of the story, Shon comes across as this cocksure character who makes you want to smack his face off. But as the story progresses, Shon exposes a level of depth and love for the female protagonist, Laura Donovan, that will literally make you swoon. The relationship between Shon and Laura is not easy, to say the least. Laura has a target on her back from several foes, and Shon makes it his job to protect her. Only, Laura is a liiiiiitle bit stubborn and manages to put herself in harms way as she expresses her independence. With a deck seemingly stacked against them, Shon and Laura must fight for their lives and their love. And boy was it one heck of a ride watching them do just that!
Shon is full of action from beginning to end, and we are introduced to secondary characters such as Vlad (the enigmatic "father" of vampires), Nita Franks (a shifter with a chip on her shoulder against vamps), and Shon's twin brother John (who was thought to be dead but is found shocking alive). This story was full of highly engaging detail. I cannot wait to see what else Kellen has in store for the rest of the series.
Ember returns to her room only to find Angelo already there. He wants to explain but is interrupted when Laura and Officer Clay show up, Another note has surfaced and her life is in danger. Unsure why, Ember doesn't tell either of them about Angelo's file and agrees to make a report in the morning. When they leave, Angelo tells her the story. He is a vampire and she has vampire blood. The serial killer is after him, and is really a vampire killer. Angelo makes claim of her and tells her he will protect her. After a lot more very stimulating sex scenes, Ember receives another note at work. She must save the girl alone. When she goes to rescue the girl...Plot twist!
I am completely entranced by this author's style of writing. She has a way to keep you addicted from beginning to end and I love it. I love how we are sucked in and then boom, she leaves us hanging and craving for more. The characters are incredibly sexy and very memorable. The book has a phenomenal plot and an awesome twist to it that I haven't read in a long time. I highly recommend this book for adults who love sexy vampires. I must strongly advise that reader discretion be used before reading. This is not for the faint of heart.
How far would you go for the one that you love? Shon knows that is about to see Laura again and he isn't too sure on how things will go. The last time he saw her, things went bad and she doesn't really want anything to do with him. But important things are happening and he has been called to a meeting with Vlad and he knows that he will have to do what the man says as he saved him from certain death. Laura isn't happy that Shon will be around as he really hurt the last time and she wants nothing to do with him so she knows that it is really going to be hard to be around him. They both have such great chemistry together but things can't ever be serious, they are both so different, Shon is a vampire that is hellbent on finding his brother and Laura is human and she can't imagine dying before him. So they are doomed. A enemy is about there and Shon will need to stop it before it causes the Mother of Evil to rise and if that happens there will be no stopping the darkness from taking over the world. Little do they know that the other enemy out there is about to take Laura and they won't let her go until she delivers what they want, Laura knows that she will never give them what they want, she is prepared to die to save her friend and family. Will Shon be able to find the woman that he loves before it is too late and he never gets the chance to tell her? Laura knows that her time is up and that she will never get to experience a life with the man that she has always loved. Do we get a second at happiness or will it all be lost before we get a chance? A great story can't wait to read the next book in the series. I was lucky enough to receive a from the author for a honest unbiased review based on my thoughts
I will recommend this book to others and appreciate the thrill of reading this story.
This novel carries on from the first Seeker book in the series nicely. The author did an outstanding job with the craftsmanship of the story. The story line is entertaining and I adore that page turner aspect. Another great notion is the introduction of the characters; as well as, the supporting characters which the reader becomes familiar with in the 3rd Seeker story. Although it is not required to read this story from a sequential order I would only suggest it because it adds value to the buildup of each novel {It's not required, you can easily read the story without the other one's for understanding}.
I adored the happy ending of not only the female but the male. Ditter Kellen delivers arousing explicit scenes that keeps you stimulated visually within your head. As an author and reader this is one aspect I do not take lightly. Overall, my expectation was met with this story from the flow, the story development, the kick ass fight scenes; in addition, to the sexual content.
A newly turned vampire that's out for blood and the secret society determined to destroy him. *****This is a previously published book that has been significantly revised to be appropriate for all readers***** One year ago, Shon Wells nearly lost his life to a mysterious stranger known as The Seeker. But now he faces a new enemy. One that not only threatens his family, but the woman he loves as well. He suddenly finds himself caught up in a web of lies and deceit that nearly destroys him. Now, he must learn to kill...or be killed.
This is a fast paced romantic thriller that had me engaged from the start. Well written plot and story line that is fast paced and keeps the suspense throughout. Wonderful well fleshed out characters that keep you engaged through the whole novel. Nice twists and turns that keep you guessing what will be next. Love this authors works. Recommend reading.

Book two picks up right where book one ended. A year after the Ember incident, there seems to be a new threat in town and once again the group, Shon, Laura, Angelo and Ember are in danger. During this battle, the focus is on Shon and Laura and their feelings toward each other. Kellen does a wonderful job of describing everyone's feelings (including the bag guys) to the point that you can relate to them on some form. This chapter had a few twist and was just as great as the first one. Could not put it down and looking forward to the book.

A Killer is Born by Ditter Kellen is the second book in the Seeker series. In this book, Shon a vampire tries to keep the human woman Laura, who he has always had feelings for safe. Laura is in danger from all sides. Part of the danger is because of what she knows and who she is friends with. This is Shon and Laura’s love story and it includes a wonderful group of characters. It is a suspense filled and thrilling book that I couldn’t put down. Be aware that this is a unique and completely different take on where vampires come from. I know you will love this book as much as I do. A Killer is Born is a fast paced romantic thriller.
Oh my the on off relationship of Shon Wells and Laura Donovan was awesome except the parts when Laura almost died 2 times because of their on and off relationship. I love this story because the storyline is so strong. Shon is becoming a strong and powerful vampire in his young age and he has been in love with Laura since high school but what to do because she is a human and he is a vampire. Want to know you got to read the story. Ditter Kellen keeps outdoing herself from one series to the next.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. Shon Wells' life could be perfect if vampires stopped hunting him and the love of his life actually knew that she was. But the vampire that turned him, is hunting him and is a threat to his cousin's family and her best friend, and he doesn't have a plan. Very well written characters. The plot is fast and suspenseful, but also humorous at time. You'll keep listening to find out how Shon gets everyone out alive.
So glad this story of Shon and Laura will continue on. I love vampire stories and this one had hot vampire sex and sweet romance too. Shon, the vampire risks all for a girl he's never forgotten. She thinks he's a real asshole... a drop dead sexy asshole. I look forward to the next book in the series. I wish to thank the author, Ditter Kellen, for giving me this book in exchange for my honest review.
Really enjoyed Shons story , he is a newly turned Vampire and already has to fight for his life as well as the woman he loves and his brother .He wants to do what's right even if that means his heart gets broke in the process , he doesn't realize Laura is just as stubborn as he is and will do what it takes to protect him and her friends.Good storyline , romance and action packed as they both race to fight the enemy .
Not usually a vampire fan but I am a fan of this author and I knew this would be an excellent book. I was so right! The characters come alive on the page and I felt like I was a part of this story. I always look forward to the next book by this author.

I can’t get enough of this series, or this author. The couple in the story are so lovable. I like how brave the heroine is. And the best part of all is seeing more of Vlad.
The narrator was good but not crazy about a few of the female voices she did. Wasn’t bad enough to distract from the story though. I recommend this whole series.
This continues from the first book in this series and jumps off pretty close to where it ended. Shon and Laura have a long way to go in understanding each other and what is going on in their heads and luckily they figure it out in the end. That being said, their are still things that need to be dealt with and will be happy to see where that takes us in the next book.
This is the second book in the series! It was so good I could just do a happy dance. Laura and Shon have a very rocky road to travel and Gina is still up to no good. This is one very amazing series!
Shon *swoon* 😍 I loved it! Shon and laura have had this "tension" between each other since Ember (Book1) so happy that they got their HEA but of course everything comes with a price. Definitely a must read!!!!
I loved the loyalty of friends and family. In time of crisis they come to the rescue. Awesome read. I have enjoyed reading Ditter Kellen books. This was a really good love story with a few trials to get them their but I loved it all.
I really enjoyed this continuation of the previous book. We see the growth of the characters, their sadness and joy. Evil is all around, can a vampire family and a human not only join forces but survive a killer? Plenty of action in this book along with romance, I loved it.
I really enjoyed this book. The storyline and characters are very well written and developed. I was drawn in and hooked to this story from the beginning. I definitely recommend reading this book.

Ember Learns was another great story by Ditter Kellan. This is the second book in The Seeker Series. This picked up right where Ember Burns left off. I loved reading more of Ember and Angelos story.

One year ago, Shon Wells nearly lost his life to a mysterious stranger known as The Seeker. But now he faces a new enemy. One that not only threatens his family, but the woman he loves as well. Narrated by Sommer Hines. She’s a professional audiobook narrator. I listened at 1.9x the speed using the audible app. A Killer is Born is book 2 in the Seeker series. There are 3 books in the series. These books are no longer available on Amazon. I’m grateful for Sommer Hines performance. This is the type of story that is better received in audiobook format.
Ditter Kellen is a best selling author. She began her writing career writing paranormal romances. Long ago paranormal vampire books were all the crave. Maybe when this was released I might’ve enjoyed this read. The concept seemed promising, yet the storyline didn’t hold my interest. The problem with writing about vampires and seekers is the common elements readers have grown to expect. There isn’t much variety or originality in writing about vampires. I feel like I’ve read it all. I guess I’m in the minority with my lack of interest in these characters.
I loved the first book in this series and this one is right there with it! The sexy Alpha males in these books are just what a woman desires in her romance reading and the women are strong with just enough vulnerability. Shon is a fun character because he has so much personality and is down right sexy. I really liked the heated chemistry between him and Laura. I recommend you give this series a try, personally I can't wait to read the next one!
I so did not see that coming! Ms. Kellen has crafted yet another amazing novelette in The Seeker series. Ember Learns picks up exactly where Ember Burns left off and you are in for a serious shock at what occurs, but nothing is as shocking as what Ember learns about her family. I must reiterate, I did NOT see THAT coming.
It's hard to discuss Ember Learns without revealing spoilers and I don't like to read reviews with spoilers, so I do my best to keep them out of the reviews I write. While EL doesn't have the same level of suspense as EB did, it packs a bigger punch emotionally as Ember is faced with some hard truths about her family. If it can be believed, the sex was even hotter this time around. Again, where can I find my own Angel? Because The Seeker is a serial novel, I was much better prepared for the possibility of another cliffhanger ending and Ms. Kellen does not disappoint.
So that you can fully understand how much I like The Seeker series, I should explain that I don't typically read serial novels, at least not past the first one IF I happened to pick it up for free. I am a bargain hunter, so I tend to feel they are overpriced for the amount of book you get with each installment and there are so many free books that can be "bought" on Amazon that I don't bother with them. Had I not received a free copy of Ember Burns, I doubt I would have ever read it. As such, I am very happy I had the opportunity to read and review Ember Burns and Ember Learns. I have a new series to buy and have added a new author to my must read list. I will be impatiently waiting for the next installment.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Angela at Crystal's Many Reviewers!
The story started to pull me in and then it went over the top and lost me never to find me again. The author put a twist on how we see vampires we have come to know that you become one when you are bitten. Here the author said you have been one all your life but you must drink a lot of blood to be changed. I thought that was a little over the top as well as when Dracula came along that just put the stops on it for me. There were a few other places that I just did not feel the story came together. I did not feel the heat or even the lead up to passion. They met and hit the hay but I didn’t feel the chemistry at all. There just wasn’t any build up to give it what a true romance is all about. This has a great plot I just felt it needed a little more thought to it.
Robert Coltrane did a good job on narration. I did feel his female voices were close to being the same. I had a hard time knowing which one was talking. The male voices were great. The audio was clear with even tones. At times Mr. Coltrane voice seemed a little flat but it wasn’t that much to take away from the audio. There are no background noises and no change from high to low anywhere in the audio. I thought his character voice were good, clear and even. The music added to this audio was great it put you in the mood for what the author wrote.
I enjoyed some of the character and I thought others were a little much. All in all this wasn’t a bad audio the narrator makes this a nice listen. Just because it wasn’t more for me doesn’t mean it won’t be for you. I am sure you will enjoy the narrator and what he brings to the story. Give it a try you might find what I didn’t see.
Title: Ember Learns (The Seeker, #2) Author: Ditter Kellen Cover Artist: Syneca Featherstone Publisher: Loose ID Reviewer: Jay Genre: Paranormal Type: Romance Pairing: Heterosexual Length: Novella Heat Rating: 5 Flames Book Rating: 4.5 Stars
Ember learns picks up right where Ember Burns left off in The Seeker series creating a continuous flow to the sexual tension and suspenseful thriller that was begun. When Ember returns to her room Angel is waiting for her. You will not see this one coming as Ember truly does “learn” about herself and her family. This installment definitely delivers a blow to your emotions.
Angel is ready to explain things to Ember but is interrupted when Laura and Officer Clay arrive. Additional threats are being made or implied against Amber. Once these two have left Angel tells the story and turns Ember’s world upside down. The truth about the serial killer is revealed and Ember grapples with understanding and guilt. The connection between Angel and Amber grows stronger as they deal with the current situations thrust upon them.
The writing style used in this series is captivating keeping you hooked from the first page to the last in each installment. Again we are left with a hum dinger of a cliff hanger. At this point I am totally hooked on this series and need more. The fact that I rarely read M/F is beside the fact. The author has continued this suspense filled erotic adventure with this short installment to the series.
Yet another amazing book, there's a seeker in Polk county and Shon is on a mission to find Gina. Whilst staying with Ember and Angel, Shon has been ordered by Vlad to travel to Alaska and find Gina, the trouble is Shon knows there's a seeker in town and Laura is in danger. Angel cannot leave Ember and there son Lucius and Shon doesn't want to leave Laura. There's a huge problem when the vampires are sleeping during the day and Angel calls in a favour from a wolf shifter he saved years ago in Alaska.....Nita Franks. Nita is the leader of the Kiana Shifters and although defiantly not Vampires best friends Angel has no other choice. With Gina calimari at large and a seeker to find Laura is at the most risk as she's a human. Shons feelings for Laura are strong and he will kill anyone who try's to harm her....its been a great read from start finish and can't wait to read about Vlad and John ( shons twin brother) and his love interest Roxie....
