HeartSmart is certain to become the cornerstone of your cookbook collection — the latest and best word on the pleasures of eating well.
This book is amazing. I wasn't really sold on it when I first got it, but once I started going through the recipes I actually found a recipe for a Thai Chicken Soup that I have been looking for forever. I am so thrilled. I love all the salad and soup recipes and plan to try all of them, as they are exactly what I like to prepare.
Bonnie Stern is well-known in Canada for her culinary voice, and what pleases me is that her recipes are recommended by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, which is a bonus! There are many excellent recipes in this book, including the calorie counts of each. My mouth was watering as I read the recipes and most ingredients are fairly easy to find in your local grocery store. This book is my favorite "new" cookbook!!
