A boring book. This book we can consider it as a filler, it doesn't support the plot, doesn't help the readers with anything, it's like you are reading sub-story inside the original one. I mean what's the purpose of me (as a reader) to know about the internal affairs of the High Britannia?! Nothing. It's just wasting time on something ridiculous. It could've been better if the author mentioned these events that happened to Bastian as a side-story or within the original story and not wasting papers on it!
Quite a lot more boring and hardly any page-time for the protagonists of the previous books. If this were an anime, I'd say this is a filler (and a boring one at that). Let's hope that the next book goes back to the MC's and gives us a nice story. This one is forgettable and can be summed up in 1 or maybe 2 chapter(s), something the author should have done in the first place.
I liked the change of pace, actually, although admittedly I was itching to find out what was happening on Altina's side. Bastian is interesting to read about, I think, especially after reading from Regis' kinda... self-depreciating perspective for a while now. Bastian is a lot more positive and I mean, he is on the frontline, and he's overall more upbeat. Although I do think he's suffering more right now than his sister... But it's a nice change of pace for one. The story itself is very interesting too-- you can't help but support Elize and Bastian, although from the very beginning you know they're going to lose, because Brittania has attacked the Empire.
Bastian and Elize are very likeable. The scenes are more action-packed too, mostly due to the narrative following Bastian. It's a huge contrast compared to Regis. Also, Bastian and Elize's relationship was very well done, and I vastly prefer reading about it over Regis fumbling about in the main story, not that I dislike Regis or anything. I think it's good that we got to see things from Brittania's perspective, especially given that the two countries are going to war against each other.
The story itself is predictable, but that doesn't really hamper the reading experience. (Or I'd be unable to read books at all...) Basically I enjoyed this a lot because I like Bastian and Elize, and I'm looking forward to them appearing in volumes from now on.
I couldn't find anything I didn't like (I mean, other than 'what's happening over at Altina's side... I'm so anxious....') so it's 5 stars for me. I'd love to read more about Bastian and Elize.

This is one of the more exciting cloak and dagger, coup attempt by the totally evil antagonist Oswald and the depraved and corrupted noble Margaret that wishes to become the new Queen of High Britannia. It is a long story arc, having Bastian the third Prince of Belgaria Empire protect and accompany the "righteous heir to the Britannian crown", Elizabeth, just because he needed a friend to advise him about the book he was writing... Without the consent or orders of the dying Britannia Queen, Oswald orders several invasions of the Belgaria Empire...So, this story of war, governance and political corruption and ineptitude will surely continue to boil and fester... This Book 4 contains an actualized map, illustrations of the characters with a summary of their roles and ambitions. Because this is a political, military and organizational Light Novel series that is not an isekai, that has no magical powers or godly miracles, it has not gotten the spotlight and popularity that it duly deserves... I recommend this Light Novel series, especially this Book 4, that starts the ball rolling into a more complicated and intriguing theme and plot arcs...
