Born to non-farmers in a California farming community, Mac Barnett now lives near San Francisco. He's on the board of directors of 826LA, a nonprofit writing center for students in Los Angeles, and he founded the Echo Park Time Travel Mart, a convenience store for time travelers.
The Terrible Two Get Worse is about 2 kids sorry I meant pranksters. One Miles: school helper and student. Mile got in with the principle no one would suspect him as a prankster. Two Niles (I know they practically have the same name): new kid. Trouble maker to the principle, even without doing anything so far. This book is so funny with pranks from food to firing to fire alarm to pulling pants. I was hooked to the book. It's so bright and creative. I remember at my old school somebody pulled the fire alarm. Students thought it was funny until every class had a lecture about it. The kid of course got in trouble. I recommend this book to anyone who loves the Idea of pranks or wants to pull a prank. Also if you just want a good laugh. There is a third book, sadly it comes out in January.
The terrible two is about two boys named Miles and Niles who are pranksters. They did a very big prank that got there principal fired. In this story they try to get him back.My favorite character is principal Barkin. He is my favorite because he is funny and turns purple when he gets mad. My favorite part of the book is when Miles and Niles put stinky cheese in there principal's car vent. My least favorite part of the book was when principal Barkins gets fired. I would would recommend this book if you like funny books.
The sequel was so much better than the first! Bertrand Barker is a much more fascinating “goat” for their pranks (I won’t spoil why) and the dynamics between Miles and Niles really hit their stride in this story.
Is filling a car with smelly cheese a prank that has gone to far? The Genre of the book is Comedy. I really enjoyed this book.
The book is about 2 boys named Miles and Niles. These 2 boys look doing pranks. In this book they do a lot of pranks. At the beginning of the book they do a prank on their principle. At first they waited for Principal Barry and his son to get out of the car. They went to restaurant and so Niles and Miles went to their car and put all the smelly cheese on the bottom of the car. Later they got some little rope and gave 1 side to a man and another piece to stranger after that they ran home. Later the kids had to take pictures and they photobombed other students. This story manly takes place at their School and others like Miles and Niles houses. The major parts of the book is when the Principle got fired. The major characters of the story is Niles and Miles. The conflict is 2 Characters vs Former Principal Barkin. Niles and Miles did not like him because later in the story he fired Barry. This is a 3rd person story, and this point of view makes a very great affect because we get to see both what Niles and Miles see but also the principals. A major even that changed the characters was when Principal Barry got fired. The title relates to the book because the book has a lot of practical jokes and 2 kids messing around all the time. The setting adds to the conflict because if it were not to take place in school then it will not really make that much sense. I say that this author is reliable because he goes through and explains what is going on. The authors tone is comedy because. The author creates this tone by adding all the jokes they like to pull on people and how much fun they have. I was surprised when Principle Barry got fired. I really enjoyed all the pranks they did because those pranks are super harmless and many people can do them. I enjoyed the way the author was explaining how everything was going and showed what both Miles and Niles were doing. If I were the author I would have added more details about how they would plan the pranks and more details of what they did during class because I feel like it would be better to show how they would do in class. My favorite part of the story was actually the part when they gave 1 piece of string to 1 person and then they would go to an ally and give another piece to another person and just wait to see what they would do. I rate this story a 4. 5 stars out of 5. I gave this story 4.5 because the book was very entertaining. This book would be recommended to any people that like comedy and pranks. "Bro chill its just a prank"

New word: metonymy. Very funny... and, from a mom's pov, very sweet. These are good kids, honestly. The world needs more like them. I hope I can get a copy of book 3.
Following up on the success of their previous title, The Terrible Two, the authors and illustrator team up just as their two protagonists do. Niles Sparks and Miles Murphy are the ultimate pranksters. While Miles enjoys having others know that he's responsible for the pranks he pulls off, Niles likes to stay beneath the radar. Together, they are practically unstoppable--until they meet the Invincible Principal. The boys have forgotten to be careful what they wish for. Principal Barkin, their usual target, is fired because his own father blames him for being too lax with the pranks and pranksters. The elder Barkin has a zero tolerance policy for pranks, and Miles and Niles are left helpless with his strategies for shutting them down. After all, it's his contention that a prank doesn't exist if it isn't acknowledged. School is no longer much fun at all, and Niles seems to have given up entirely. But maybe, just maybe, with the help of their former nemesis, they might find the motivation for one more prank to end all pranks. Fans of the series will laugh through most of this book, enjoying the boys' dilemma but also savoring the illustrations showing Principal Barkin trying to find something to keep himself busy after he loses his job. Yawnee Valley Science and Letters Academy will never be the same. It might be a good idea to share this with a principal or two, either as a cautionary tale or as a heads-up about how pranksters operate. Readers will find it hard not to feel some sympathy for poor Mr. Barkin.
Back again for a second year of high profile pranking fun at Yawnee Valley Science and Letters Academy, Miles and Niles have perfected their pranking to such levels, a successful prank occurrs almost daily. When Principal Barkin's father discovers the level of upheaval in the school in which he was principal before his son, he decides the pranking has to stop. Using the school board as his vehicle, he has his son demoted (fired) and places himself back in his old principal job. The elder Principal Barkin is much tougher than his easily pranked son. His decision that a prank only exists if the authorities react proves effective. As Miles and Nile's prank after very clever prank fails to elicit a reaction, they begin to doubt the effectiveness of their two-person secret club. However, eventually they discover there might be a small chip in the otherwise impervious elder Principal Barkin that might be the key, and they need one more member in their club to help pull off a seemingly impossible prank. Just as funny and surprising as The Terrible Two, this sequel won't spend any time on the shelf, a winner! Kids won't be able to wait for the next sequel.
I only bought the first book of this series cuz I didn't wanna waste money in case it was not worth continuing but maaaaan, I immediately bought the next books including this one after finishing the first one.
Totally made me drown in the story and the humor and the illustrations. A dangerous combination for me indeed!
Anyways, I really enjoyed this series after a really long time of being away from books which made me realize I was not the problem here, so special thanks to these books for giving me back that lost confidence!
My son Ryan loved the first book so much that we had to read the sequel together too. He loved this one as much as the first, if not more! I loved the sarcasm and wit throughout this book. It was a joy to read!
Absolutely love these authors and this series! The first chapter book I’ve read aloud with my daughter where she was begging me to read more each night.
I've been recording videos of myself reading it to my students for remote learning and almost every video features my husband howling with laughter from down the hall.
