journalism's gain is fiction's loss - bergner's written a few important nonfiction books, non of which were at the library yesterday, so i got out this musty novel of his from '91. Its a terrific moral parable of a decent guy getting seduced into being a phony guy by being a toadying besty with a JFK Jr type. Guess he's just good at whatever he does! Did I mention I actually met him, maybe even twice, in the late 80s? Yep, Its true.
