Smile on my face. I desperately enjoyed this four sermon collection. Cadie spoke of it, passed a copy along to Josh, Josh to me. The first book of our recently created book club. If you will.

It is possible that I enjoyed most the last chapter, Why I Am A Christian. This piece actually caused me some tears. So much could be said of the previous 89 pages, but the second to the last paragraph appealed to me most.

"If it were not for Jesus Christ I would have no belief about the future or hope for anything beyond the grace, not even that ultimate righting of wrongs and demonstration of justice which one instinctively yearns for on behalf of the millions whom life has treated roughly. I could not believe in God if I thought that there was no happy destiny and reversal of fortune for the world's poor and starving and oppressed multitudes. But such hopes for the future cannot be postulated simply in order to clear the account, however desirable that may be. My belief about the future is tied up wholly with Jesus Christ and his conquest of evil and death. He promised eternal life to those who have faith in him. It is because I am sure of him and his own resurrection that I can live in hope."

Yes and amen to all that was said. I live in hope!!
