*** 5+ Stars! "I'm his now, all his, and he has no intention of letting me go."
Wow, this series is really great ! I love the style and flow of writing SK Quinn has going on. I love every last character she has added throughout this series (yes, even the mean ones, the stuck up ones, and even the home wreckers LOL). But most of all..I love Marc Blackwell and Sophia Blackwell as individuals and definitely as a married couple. I can't wait to see where else SK Quinn takes the Blackwell's.
It’s been 10 years since I first met Marc and Sophia. I read the first three books back in 2013 and until recently I hadn’t realised there had been more books released featuring this couple. I’ve always thought that this series was a favourite of mine, however, it appears that my reading tastes have evolved and sadly I have been left feeling very disappointed. There is something that has kept me reading though, and I don’t know whether it is nostalgia or a longing for something different to happen within the storyline and writing style in order for my feelings to change. Unfortunately, I am no longer a fan of Marc Blackwell – I love an alpha male but I find him far too controlling and rather devious in the way he behaves. I also find Sophia very immature and quite irritating at times. Not the best thoughts and feelings to have towards leading characters.
I wanted to love this series; I really did. It was rather repetitive throughout and I got bored and annoyed.
I award Ivy and Roses 1 star. I’m gutted in all honesty.
I tried to like this series, i really did. However by the third book I hated the heroine and Mr.Blackwell. I'm supposed by the last book they weren't divorced. I don't want to give to much away, but if all issues go unresolved and your always complying that doesn't make you submissive, it means you have your head buried way to deep in the sand. The heroine went from being a caretaker for her father and a responsible woman to a weak helpless mess whom her husband called immature and childish everytime she tried to make a decision. This series could have stopped at two books with a nice little epilogue that would have left the characters likeable and a four star rating.
This was a good book, I totally loved the book that I couldn’t put it down. The series was amazing. It started off slow but then it started off and it got me hooked. Once the first book was down, I had to read the next and next and couldn’t get enough. This helped wrap everything up. Totally loved this book
The final installment of the series is somewhat lesser on the action (mistery) but more up to building the one trusting relationship for Sophia and Marc and that is not an easy task given the Marc's previous "love" life. Great ending of the very interesting, exciting and passionate series. I recommend it for reading to those who love serials.
Never read a book with so much sexism, whilst he was out working, builidng his career she was kept in the house by him as apparently the real world was not safe for her and she would 'exhaust' herself. Think Marc thought he was living in 1910.
The Ivy series has the stuff to make the romantic out there happy; there's that studly, handsome, domineering man and his shy, beautiful, but strong minded love. The book was a little bit too derivative to me, but still an enjoyable love story.
Such a good book, you can't help but fall in love with each character, apart from Cassandra of course! My opinion of Marc changed as I read later on in the book. Which is a sign of a great story! The emotions it brought me through each chapter was crazy as it made me feel like I actually knew the characters! Loved it! Have the ice books downloaded already, can't wait to read!
I love everyone of the Ivy Series books and this one didn't let me down. They both have obstacles to overcome in this book as do some of th of the other characters. The only thing that let this book down was that there was no mention of Sophias dad or brother. Can't wait to read the next sizzling instalment of this series. Well done Suzy you deserve a pat on the back.
I have absolutely loved this series from the beginning. At first I thought Marc was a little too controlling, but it seems that Sophia needs that in her life. She still stands up for what thinks is right. Suzy Quinn writes these characters with heart. You either love them or hate them. I would love to read Leo and Jen's story. They are very entertaining.
I enjoyed Ivy And Roses. It started off really quite slowly and took a good 30% to get into but once I did I was really hooked!
It tells of Sophia and Marc after they become parents to Ivy and some of the issues that come with parenting and working at the same time. Marc was still domineering but there weren't as many sex scenes in this book I didn't think.
3 stars because although the story was good I expected a little more as I really enjoyed the other books in the series.
This Series is by far my favourite Teacher/Student Romance. Marc Blackwell is hot, Dominant and Sexy. I can't get enough of Marc and Sophie's Story. I've put off reading this for a while cause i just don't want their story to end. Another great book Suzy and I loved that Seraphina popped up too. A fantastic addition to this series, and I always look forward to reading Suzy's books and I can't wait for the next one!!! Whatever that may be!!!
Love the Mr. Blackwell series. Suzy does it again. Romantic and Protective Marc again has to work to keep Sophia and Ivy from danger. Some of the same characters again appear. They are like family to the reader too. Do not read the series out of order.
That was great a wonderful catch up with Marc and Sophia, it's lovely how the characters have blossomed, and Michael becoming part of their family, as Marc said a year for second chances, and Sophia's reply, and learning from mistakes, maybe we should all remember those words.
I always love updates on Marc and Sophia's love. Love the new villains as well. Poor Sophia will always run into one of Marc's conquests. Comes with the territory I guess. Great read.
2.5 - This whole series was VERY amateur. No substance or depth to writing, characters, storyline or emotions. 'Sex scenes' couldn't even be described as that. 5 books cut and paste of - He totally filled me. '. Oh Marc, Oh God Marc' 'Sophia, Oh Sophia' - literally that was every sex scene.
