On these truly inspirational audiocassettes, Dr.Wayne W. Dyer and Deepak Chopra, M.D., two of the most highly respected authors and teachers in the self-help/transformational field, tell you how you can create your world the way you really want it to be.Dr. Dyer and Dr. Chopra begin by teaching you how to reduce the time between you decide what you really, really, really, really want, and when it actually manifests: (1) "Wish" for it -- be willing to ask for it; (2) "desire" it with all your heart; (3) have the "will" or "intention" to go after it; and (4) be "passionate" about what you want, ignoring the doubts of others. As Dr. Dyer says, 'What you think about expands, so think about what you want -- not about what you don't want!' These two thinkers go on to contemplate the wisdom of the ages -- the legacy of humanity's great poets, philosophers, and spiritual teachers, including Socrates, Buddha, Thoreau, Khalil Gibran, Dr. Martin Luther King., Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, and Mother Teresa, among many others. Dr. Chopra lists seven steps for us to get in touch with our mystical, cosmic consciousness: silence, surrender, being, vision, intent, action, and fruit. By experiencing each of these steps, we can achieve all that we dream of. Learning how to live in the wholeness can get us past our addictions, which exist only in the realm of the ego. These two inspirational thinkers show us how to go from experiencing our addictions to observing them with unconditional love, which puts us on the path to wholeness.
Wayne Walter Dyer was an American self-help author and a motivational speaker. Dyer earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Philosophy, a Master’s degree in Psychology and an Ed.D. in Guidance and Counseling at Wayne State University in 1970. Early in his career, he worked as a high school guidance counselor, and went on to run a successful private therapy practice. He became a popular professor of counselor education at St. John's University, where he was approached by a literary agent to put his ideas into book form. The result was his first book, Your Erroneous Zones (1976), one of the best-selling books of all time, with an estimated 100 million copies sold. This launched Dyer's career as a motivational speaker and self-help author, during which he published 20 more best-selling books and produced a number of popular specials for PBS. Influenced by thinkers such as Abraham H. Maslow and Albert Ellis, Dyer's early work focused on psychological themes such as motivation, self actualization and assertiveness. By the 1990s, the focus of his work had shifted to spirituality. Inspired by Swami Muktananda and New Thought, he promoted themes such as the "power of intention," collaborated with alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra on a number of projects, and was a frequent guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Interesting studies about what makes a person feel safe and calm all the way from in the womb- cuddling rats made them not have health issues when given poison- all the ways we have become a bit of mess on earth but it is possible to collectively change. - this links to some of what I read in ‘when the body says no’ and the detrimental effects of withholding anger on your health.
It's great to come back and listen to this one again. I got to understand things I didn't understand the first time around. I'll probably listen to it again in the future to uncover more.
I have listened the audiobook which was very informative and also lots of fun. It was combination of Dyer and Chopra speeches and their connection to each other was really remarkable and made the subject even more enjoyable. It is a great listen on the go. In total less than 5 hrs so easy to complete as well.
I think this audio presentation is amazing. However the the contents of this book are recycled from previous talks so if you have listened to all their audio talks etc you will find that you have heard the stories already in this book.......I still think this book is amazing however that is warning if you don't want repetitious then don't get this book but yet it is a nice repeat from my standpoint....and if you haven't read Deeak Chopra and W Dryer this book is great overview....but then if you go to read other of there books you will hear some same stories...... In the the second half I heard a few new ideas but then it became just restatements of concepts already presented in other books,, audiobook, videos etc..... At the outset Dr. Dyer talked about this being a project that both of them had wanted to do for a long time but on at least two other talks for audi0books they say that same thing, they act like they are finally together and making this happen...so I am not sure why they do that....marketing. I still going to give the book 5 stars as it has a wealth of information in it and I think if you only have time for one of Deepak and I don't know why they do that as I get the feeling they know the people they have a huge following.. you would think they would switch things up. Still the book is great so please make this mandatory reading if you are going to choose one Deepak Chopra book, be prepared that Wane Dryer talks a lot...but they both have good chemistry for working together and they are excellent speakers and have excellent stories.
Outstanding!!!!!!! These ideas are up there with Practicing the Power of Now and A New Earth by Tolle. May you rest in peace Wayne Dyer. Dr. Chopra's scientific take on the universal life force was really quite similar to the teachings in my reiki classes.
