Something is alive from the Tar Ponds of Cape Breton. In the mountains of the island, Dave Benny is about to face the most challenging horror of his life. A family from Ontario, vacationing in the Cape Breton Highlands, is tested with terrors unimaginable to their own or anyone else’s lifestyle. Big George lives in the Cape Breton Highlands. His son and his son’s family are soon to arrive home. The people of the small community of Inverness will be hunted and families will be torn apart. Joining forces, will they, can they defeat the threat and insanity within these great hills?
Its fun reading this as someone who is from Cape Breton and is familiar with mostly all the locations.
The story feels a little too safe, though. It follows so many cliches and sometimes can be a little uncomfortable in its CB ways.
The monster is the standout part to anyone not from the island chuckling at locations. But even still, it feels like not enough time went into it other than scenes describing it attacking people.
As someone who loves Horror and is from the area it was fun, but I'd understand why others may not finish.
