Marcy’s still reeling from the decision Brad made. Even though she realizes it’s for the best, it doesn’t mean she has accepted it completely.
Liam finally receives the revenge he’s wanted for the past eleven years, and wants nothing more than to move on with his life with Marcy.
After an informative therapy session with her psychiatrist, Dr. Bengali, and his warnings of concern about Marcy’s continuing nightmares and possible consequences of these nightmares, Liam rushes from the room becoming ill in the bathroom. Dr. Bengali feels it will be beneficial to use the rest of Marcy’s appointment time to speak with Liam privately, and she agrees. After their private discussion, and on the advice of Dr. Bengali, Liam opens up to Marcy in a way he never has before. He refuses to leave her side.
Eventually, Marcy’s nightmares come to a head, and the effects are shattering. Liam makes a decision that devastates their lives and turns Marcy’s world upside down. Choices are made, and Brad and Marcy meet again; however, they receive more shocking news.
After years of writing and editing for others, raising a family, and over twenty years of running her own businesses, Linda decided to tackle her first fiction novel entitled RAGE. After realizing it contained too many words, Linda turned the novel into a trilogy, which eventually stretched into a much longer series called THE MARCY SERIES.
When asked about inspiration, Linda has this to say: "Nobody inspired me to write, but I do remember my mother and father always saying 'anything you put your mind to you can accomplish. Don't ever let anyone tell you, you can't do something.' Having the support of my husband and children is very important. Having my youngest daughter, who is a writer and editor as well, to offer advice, has helped me stay focused and continue to write."
Linda hopes to have the entire MARCY SERIES (Books 1-13) available as soon as possible. The first through the eighth book in the series are published and available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes and Noble online, Smashwords. Book Nine is available on Amazon only.
Linda’s hoping the last five books in the series will be available toward the beginning of 2020.
Linda has also completed two other standalone title novels, The Colors of My Life, and Murder Among Friends which are available at the same locations above. An anthology with four other authors is available on Amazon. The anthology is called, Where There’s Murder, There’s Mystery. Linda’s short story contribution is called, Lies Aren’t Forever.
Linda Burson does it yet available!! Third in a series and yet just as good :) This book continues from book 2 without a big break in between which makes it much better and you don't get lost. Unfortunately, I can't say too much without revealing and ruining the story but be ready for love, loss, happiness and heartbreak. Moving straight onto book 4 now but another congratulations to an amazing author on another successful novel!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A BOOK THAT YOU CAN'T PUT DOWN!! X
Agony and Ecstasy (The Marcy Series Book 3) by Linda Burson is the third book in her The Marcy series. I highly suggest that you read the previous books in this series in order to get the full effect of this story. Situations that have happened in the first two books are referenced and some of the characters are the same throughout. This story picks up where the last two left off but this one has a focus on Marcy and her relationships with Liam and Brad. Once again these characters took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that I couldn't put down until the last page. Marcy is faced with making a decision between Liam and Brad. It is a heartbreaking decision for her but who will she chose? Liam has some secrets that will be revealed but will it change his relationship with Marcy? Will this reveal push Marcy back into Brad's arms? They do take us on a few twists and turns that can't be mentioned here so you will just have to read this book to find out what they are. This book really kind of focuses on Marcy and her emotional roller coaster. We get to see her go through things and question how she will make it through. She is a strong character but weak at the same time. I enjoyed seeing her grow through everything. I highly recommend this book, I know you will enjoy this series as much as I have. Plus, I know you will want to see what happens in this love triangle next!
3rd book with Marcy. This one was quite the page turner. New dreams... New revelations that just set Marcys world on its edge. Liam... man Liam opening up. Every page seemed to hold more and more pieces to the puzzle. I read this book so fast my head is spinning. Linda Burson has written all the characters so well and weaved this story so intricately I don't want it to stop.
Agony & Ecstasy (The Marcy Series Book 3) by Linda Burson. This is the third book in the series and they should be read in order to better understand the story. This book is about the emotional triangle and life of Marcy, Liam and Brad. Marcy has to make a decision between the two and it will be a very emotional and heartbreaking decision. Liam is hiding some secrets and he knows that Marcy has to know about them. Will those secrets push her to Brad? I don’t want to divulge too much more because you have to read this book. You will love it!!!
A fantastic read about life not always being easy. Marcy is deeply in love with Liam despite nightmares troubling her days and even runs her own coffee shop business. One day whilst in a therapy session, she discovers the nightmares seem to be becoming clearer. Linda Burson expertly weaves the suspense so you won't be able to put it down, slowly revealing explosive details one at a time that turn Marcys world upside down and unwind consequences that cannot be stopped once set in motion. A brilliant read. can be read as a standalone book or as part of the series. well developed plot. well developed characters. Both Brad and Liam were perfect blends of a perfect boyfriend with being gentlemen and protective with sweet moments with Marcy. A brilliant supporting cast of caring characters with touching moments such as Dave or Will. An amazingly beautiful portrayal of strong friendships that can survive anything.. Laura Burson creates a fast paced plot with an expert use of suspense as she beautifully revealed small explosive details as the plot unravels to turn Marcys world upside down. her use of flashbacks in the dreams was perfectly written. Marcys struggle with reality and fiction was amazing and emotive, making you deeply sympathise with her situation. In addition, a relatable and touching portrayal of depression and its associated therapy sessions which was beyond perfect. The sense of tragedy ran throughout the novel, making you wonder if Marcy will ever get her happy ending she dreams of with several scenes that will make you cry especially between the friends. Overall, a brilliant read and I would give it five stars.
Yes, this is my novel. Why'd I give it a five-star rating? Because I can, and because it's good. It's a part of the MARCY SERIES, and is Book #3 in the continuing story of Marcy, Brad, and Liam. You could probably read it as a stand-alone, but I wouldn't recommend it. The first two books introduce you to these three confused, angry, controlling, and stubborn individuals, and I believe you need that to even begin to delve into the reasons for their messed-up lives. Yes, it's a story about hopes and dreams and true love, but it's more than that. It's about three people whose lives are more complicating than we originally thought.
The series is long, but I feel it's satisfying as a continuing story. Like any good novel, it has highs and lows which result in laughter and tears. There are surprises and more confusion. When I read it in its entirety after it's published, I engross myself in it like I would a first-time reader. I look at it as much as possible, from an outsider's view. I want to see if it holds my interest and makes me want to continue to read. If it does, I know I did my job. Now, I'm not saying it's going to be a five-star for everyone. Yes, it is for me, but books are subjective. We don't all love or even like the same things, and that goes for movies, food, clothes, and books. But, I do feel if you give it a chance, you might find yourself involved in these three lives as I am, and you just might enjoy it enough to continue reading beyond the first novel.
Agony and Ecstasy (The Marcy Series Book 3 ) By Linda Burson
Agony and Ecstasy (The Marcy Series Book 3 ) By Linda Burson is the third book in her Marcy series.I really highly recommend you read this whole series in order, you'll get a better understanding of what's been going on and you'll get to know the characters a little better. I've loved this series so far as each book starts off where the one before left off.Get ready to be taken on yet another emotional roller-coaster ride at times. There’s some twists and turns that will have you yet again on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what happens next. This story is about Marcy and her relationships with Brad and Liam.Shes faced with making yet another decision between these two Brad and Liam. This is a heartbreaking decision she has to make .Does she choose Brad or Liam? There are secrets Liam is holding on to that will be revealed, with this reveal does it change things for him and Marcy?Does this revealing of his secrets push her back into Brads open arms? This book kept me on my toes but man was it worth it.MarcyMarcy takes us on a journey of emotions and the different things she goes through .Marcy is strong but at times is very weak.i loved her growing process through the story.Man do I ever highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed but be prepared for one heck of a emotional roller-coaster ride. I look forward to seeing where this author takes us next.
Agony & Ecstasy (The Marcy Series, #3) by Linda Burson was a emotional ride that really tore at the heart strings.
Now I will like to start with that I didn't read the first two books, but with how well written this heartache is, I wasn't too confused and I easily feel into the story. True I miss out some the initial character building, but again, this book is expertly written, rich with detail and with all the twist that happen, I got to know the characters fast.
The plot moves fast, and there is a dark tone twisted in there. This helped set the stage and really drag me into this story-already-progress. I loved the character interactions, the ups downs, the suspense; Marcy's struggle with depression and, trying to separate fact from fiction, real not real. It build up to an explosive climax that honestly threw me. And believe me, that doesn't happen very often.
I loved the strong friendships, and the cohesion. It really made the story that much stronger. God there are so many good things about this story, and I am definitely going to go back and read the other books in this series. I know there are things that I have missed, but at the same time I believe that because I didn't read the first two books, made this story so much more exciting and, twisty and turny.
Take my high recommendation that you will get emotionally invested in this book. It will rip at all the feels and destroy your heart strings.
Agony and Ecstasy is the intriguing third book in the Marcy Series by Linda Burson. The story continues from book two, so I would recommend reading the first two books before beginning this one. The more this story evolves, the more I am realising how well thought out the entire bridging storyline is. Ms. Burson has infused her story with a lot of suspense, drama, dilemmas, emotion, humour, complex characters in complicated relationships and interactions, and quite a few surprises/surprising developments. Ms. Burson really writes well, pulling you into the story and keeping you hooked right through to the end. I laughed, cried and got lost in this fabulous story. For me, that is the sign of a skilled writer. I have really enjoyed this series so far, but this is definitely my favourite to date. The story has a great pace and is easy to read, it evolves beautifully and unexpectedly the further into the story/series I go. The characters have also developed and evolved along with the storyline. They tell an intriguing and very believable tale that I can’t wait to continue in the next book. Marcy, Brad and Liam have been through a lot and in this story, they continue to deal with nightmares, therapy sessions, making major decisions, dealing with shocking revelations, and more. All this awaits in this awesome read! Bring on the next book!

Ok here we go. Agony and Ecstasy is the third book in the Marcy Series. Will it be the last? With that ending I certainly hope not!
Here’s what causes Marcy’s rage, confusion, agony AND ecstasy!
“My life seems to be running in slow motion, and I can’t speed it up no matter what I do. I still think of Brad all the time, but I’m not missing him the way I’m missing Liam. Isn’t that interesting?”
To me this story had more agony than ecstasy. I just can’t like Brad. Everyone else does, Marcy, her friends, her parents, maybe even Linda Burson herself. I really am trying. I was #teamliam all through book 2 but this time he makes some choices and does some things that makes me wonder just what is really going on.
I can tell you this author likes twists! Major twist at the half way mark, another twist before the wedding, minor twist at the wedding, twist with Liam and Marcy, twist with Brad and Marcy. Can you understand the main character’s confusion? agony?
This story had good writing as the first two books did. This story focuses on Marcy’s confusion about loving these two great men. This story has a bittersweet happy ending but I didn’t like it…remember I am #teamliam. I felt no closure with this ending so let’s see what Burson can bring in the next book
Agony and Ecstasy (The Marcy Series Book 3) By Linda Burson
Agony and Ecstasy is the third book by Linda in this amazing series. Being the third book I would highly recommend that you read books one and two first to get the gist of the storyline so far. This book as with books one and two move at a good pace and you will be left wanting to know what’s on the next page. Macy is still trying to work out why she is having her nightmares and just what are they about. While she is having her therapy session the doctor invites a man in by the name of Liam and this is where the world for Macy changes. Brad Marcy’s ex fiancée has called off their wedding and Macy has not much of a reason why. Now Marcy has fallen in love with Liam and they are now engaged. Liam is most protective of Marcy. Marcy comes back to town and has a few drinks with Brad, Brad now wants Marcy back. Marcy doesn’t have the heart to tell Brad about her engagement to Liam and leaves this out of their conversation. She knows at some stage she must tell him but at the same time doesn’t want to hurt him. So, what will Marcy do and how will it affect her future.
Usually by the time a series hits book 3 I'm thinking it's time to stop. This is most definitely not the case with The Marcy Series. Linda Burson takes us yet again on a incredible rollercoaster ride with twists and turns that has your stomach churning. Agony and Ecstasy...... the name of the book says it all. With secrets revealed by Liam and life altering decisions also made by him, Marcy's entire world is turned upside down. Not that she needs more drama in her life with the nightmares still plaguing her dreams and waking thoughts. But Brad swoops back into her life but also throws Mercy for a loop. Maybe it's time for Marcy to be on her own.......
This was yet again another amazing book by Linda. I really enjoy her writing style and the way she keeps you on your toes with just giving you an inch at a time.
With this book I was really surprised by the characters growth, especially the emotional aspects in their lives.
If I could give it 10 stars I definitely would. *** I highly recommend that you read the books in order as intended by the author ***
Agony and Ecstasy is the third book in the Marcy series by Linda Burson and I think this is my favorite of the series so far. I didn't find myself as annoyed my Marcy as I did in the first two book which was a good thing, but that never stopped me from reading the books and not want to put them down. Marcy has done a lot of growing and healing in this series and I have a feeling that there is still a lot more to come for her.
Marcy has such a great group of friends and she knows it, but doesn't realize how much she will come to depend on them until one day when she least expects it. There are so many things that happen in this book, Marcy and Liam are strong, Marcy finds out more about her past and her connection to someone she didn't even know about until memories come flooding back. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. I have a feeling the drama is nowhere close to being over.
Agony And Ecstasy is the third book in the Marcy series by Linda Burson and continues on where the second book ended. This book is the culmination of everything coming to a head. Freedom is scary, revenge is ripe and sweet, devastation takes its toll and finally nightmares are finally revealed in full. Love is lost, happiness turns into heartbreak. Agony finds happiness and a broken heart may mend. This story has many many many highs and lows and lots of confusion, tears and sorrow, but there is also laughter and surprises.
It is a story of three peoples hopes and dreams and unimaginable love. It is also a story about dealing with a past that would destroy even the strongest of us and dealing with the complications of that past to try and find a way to the future.
Agony & Ecstasy is the third book in The Marcy Series by Linda Burson. When I first started this series, I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. The first book had a slow start, but now I am hooked! Even though I often want to throw my Kindle across the room while reading it, I can’t stop…I simply must know how it turns out. As the title explains, book three is the most heart-wrenching part of the story thus far. It is highly recommended that you read the previous books before you read this one. These are not meant to be standalone books.
Marcy is still trying to figure out what is going on with her nightmares. She could remember the previous set of nightmares she was having, but these new nightmares leave her wondering when she wakes up; she can’t seem to recall what they are about. As she continues with her therapy, things start coming to the surface. During one session the doctor invites Liam into the office and things start to unravel.
Liam makes a major decision that changes everything. Still reeling from the decision, Marcy meets Brad again and he is a great support to her, but as they think things are smoothing out, shocking news is revealed that threatens to leave Marcy alone to fight her demons on her own.
As irritated as I get with the characters sometimes, ok, most of the time, this series has me by the brain. It illustrates just how strong our subconscious mind is and how much it can control our lives and motivate us to make hasty decisions that not only destroy our own life, but the lives of others. Even though these stories are fiction, they do remind us that not everything is as it seems. People who have been traumatized often have odd behaviors and make decisions that those without trauma wouldn’t make and often don’t understand.
I’m giving Agony and Ecstasy by Linda Burson a four star review. Ms. Burson certainly has a terrific handle on mental health issues. Marcy, Liam and Brad are the main three characters with the focus of this book being on Marcy. Marcy seems to have some difficulty with reality. She is written as a very mentally unstable person, who, because of this instability can’t seem to function well in male company. Ms. Burson really knows how to describe a therapy session. A lot of this book centers around the therapy Marcy is receiving for various traumas she has endured in her life. These sessions get a bit wordy and long. I read this as a stand alone, but, I don’t recommend it. There are two previous books and I would recommend reading those first. The intimate sex scene were appropriately placed. They were believable. The author wasn’t just dumping people into bed just to be able to write a sex scene. I really appreciate this. I like romance and sex scenes as much as the next woman, but I like them to have some context, some plot, some reason to be jumping into bed. All in all, Agony and Ecstasy was a fairly good read. Solid four stars.
Agony and Ecstasy by Linda Burson is the third book in her Marcy Series and what a fantastic follow up. I have had the pleasure of reading the entire series up until this point and have loved everything about it so far. This book picks up where book two leaves off, but what made this book unique is that it focuses more on Marcy’s relationship between Liam and Brad, though it is heartbreaking her having to pick one man made for such an emotional rollercoaster. Burson’s writing style really made for a book that I couldn’t put down, being pulled back in from page one to the last sentence. Each of her books are that way, which makes them such great reads. This book is full of love, loss, happiness, heartbreak and so many more emotions that I can’t even begin to name them all. I do hope that this series continues as I want to know more about Marcy and how her life continues to evolve as a character. I recommend this series to anyone looking for a truly addictive reading experience, but be prepared to pick up the whole series because you won’t be able to stop at just one book.
Agony & Ecstasy (The Marcy Series #3) By Linda Burson 4 stars
This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author but is the first one from this series. I was a little concerned about starting with book 3 but I really enjoyed it. I quickly looked at the blurbs for the first two and felt like I understood the plot for the series but I absolutely want to go back and read the first two now!! I knew when I first started the book I would be in for a good story as I really like this author detail that she puts into her stories. Her characters are always relatable and likeable. Marcy was such a great character! There was so much going on for her and she has some real heart-breaking decisions to make. I think by the end of this book I really felt like I knew Marcy well. The authors character development of her was really strong. There were a couple of twists along the way, secrets revealed and decisions made. I definitely found that once I started reading this book it was difficult to put down. I am really looking forward to the next one!
Agony and Ecstasy is Book 3 in The Marcy Series by Linda Burson. The series should be read in order to follow the lives of the characters. Marcy is one of the main characters and she has been through a lot of heartbreak and fear in her life. There were 2 men in her life Brad and Liam. Both of which were engaged to Marcy and one point.
Marcy has nightmares which start with her not remembering them. Little by little she starts to remember certain things. She’s in a very fragile state and then to top things off, she finds out that Liam, the man she loves...the man she plans to marry has some secrets of his own.
Marcy needs to choose which man she will end up with. Brad...Liam...Who knows! This book has a lot of suspense and twists you won’t see coming.
I thought the book was written well however, I felt like there were things thrown in that weren’t needed like the author had to meet a word count. The book was fairly long so I know that can’t be the case. I did enjoy reading this book and I’m sure you will too. Please be sure to read the books in order
Agony and Ecstasy by Linda Burson is he third book in the Marcy series. This series really must be read in order as the story is a continuation from one book to another.
With nightmares still in full force and reeling from the decision Brad made Marcy seeks more professional help. The session leads to more secrets being revealed between Marcy and Liam. With yet more decisions looming and meeting with Brad the uneasy path Marcy was finding herself on suddenly doesn’t seem quite so settled.
Another fantastic addition to an already great series. I really do think to fully appreciate this series they need to be read in order. The story takes you on a brilliant journey in which you become fully immersed in the lives of these characters. With each book I read I love them more and cannot wait to delve back into their lives. I cannot say much about the story without giving too much away. All I can say is bring on book four.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Agony and Ecstasy is the third novel in the Macy series by Linda Burson. This is my first novel by this author.
Following admittedly after the previous book, Marcy is torn between Liam and Brad and you feel her confusion about being in love with two men.
“My life seems to be running in slow motion, and I can’t speed it up no matter what I do. I still think of Brad all the time, but I’m not missing him the way I’m missing Liam. Isn’t that interesting”.
I will admit I went into this book without knowing it was series and therefore have not read the previous two books which I recommend to get the full impact of the story.
From this book, I was highly engrossed while confused. This is a well written novel with twist and turns that make you feel for the characters. I will have to go back and read the other books to get a better understanding.

This is book three in the series. We start with Marcy still trying to unlock her nightmares. During one session things start to become clear and her nightmares start to become clear. She is still seeing Liam but has Brad on the side. Its a very interesting story and held my attention. Marcy gets on my nerve with the back and forth between the guys. I don’t understand how you say you love someone but go and find comfort in another mans arms. The author writing style was different and seems to start you out slow and than bam there’s the climax. If your looking for a book series that will have you wanting to know wth this is for you. The author does great with the details but the characters need new personalities.
This is novel is part of the marcy series and it can be read as a standalone but to get the full effect of the story i highly recommend reading the other's first. This story pulled me in i could feel every single emotion of what the characters were going through and i was able to understand what was happening even though i haven't read the other's but i did miss out on the slow burn of the character building so im defiantly going back to read the others. The story is so full of twist and turns like seriously it will keep you on your toes thats for sure and you just dont know what is going to happen next and when you do find out what unfolds youe like wow i wasn't expecting that! I just found this novel brilliant it kept me hooked and and i highly recommend it!!!
Burson's Agony and Ecstasy is the third novel in The Marcy Series, and it picks up right where two left off. There is a shocking revelation, but after this, the story moves away from the suspenseful plots created in books one and two and focuses more on the romances tearing Marcy's heart apart. This book is aptly named as there are plenty of moments of both agony and ecstasy for Marcy and her loves Liam and Brad. She finally makes a decision about which man she will spend her life with, but there is other surprising news and some unanswered questions pulling the reader to pick up book four.
This melodramatic tale that entwines three exceptional characters comes to a stunning conclusion in Agony and Ecstasy. The quality in which Linda Burson has written this mesmerizing series is captivating and never lacks intensity. This high energy reading experience will be hard to beat.
For Marcy, Liam and Brad, the rollercoaster that is life seems to be on a continuous loop, with no hint of it ever calming down. There were a lot of nail biting moments, and a lot of tears shed. A thoroughly absorbing escape from reality that left quite a profound impression.
This book and series is truly a fabulous read, and one I can highly praise. 5 stars.
This is the third book in the Marcy Series, a series that should be read in order as each new book follows the last. I have enjoyed reading along with Marcy’s journey. Though she can be a frustrating character at times I did enjoy her character development. I felt really invested in her story and I’m really happy with how it all played out!!
Just like the first two books this one is action packed, filled with all kinds of drama, emotions, romance, etc. It really is a well-rounded book, one that I was able to read in one sitting!
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
Agont and Ecstasy by Linda Burson is book 3 in The Macy Series. I definitely suggest reading the first 2 books before starting on this one. A lot has happened to get to this point it in the story and having all the information will help clear a lot of questions. The mind is a powerful tool when the information makes sense to you. As Marcy continues with therapy and trying to understand what her new nightmares mean Brad makes a choice and Liam is quick to step in. Now’s its his chance, or is it?
